"I've had that one drilled into my head rather well by Corvus and Denebola," he laughed, shifting to rest one arm on the back of the bench in order to actually face Arsinoe as they spoke. "Celsus and the rest of the brigade too, honestly. The camaraderie feels good. Nothing about who I am now feels like it's burdened by the same weight that I had pulling me down five years ago..."

It was a good feeling to have a lightness in his chest and a more solid grasp of everything going through his head, even if some things were still slightly scrambled. It was easier to let those things go knowing what kind of support he now had standing behind and beside him.

"Don't suppose you'd be interested in watching to see what my magic does?"

"Think this is as good a place to show off as any?" His brow lofted as he rose from the bench, calling his weapon to his hands so that he could start shuffling the cards together. He enjoyed the feel of them in his hands, just enough weight to have substance but not heavy. The motif on the cards matched the symbol on his ring-- Something specific to him, he'd assumed.

"Do you know a lot of knights, then?"

"Well, here's hoping that I don't disappoint." He flashed Arsinoe a softly teasing grin as he tucked all but one card into his sash. He stepped away from the bench, not knowing what sort of effect he had to look forward to and not wanting to risk accidentally harming the senshi.

Mag Mell turned the card in his hand slowly, using the symbols as a focal point to channel the magic. As his focus intensified the card began to glow, softly at first and then shining brighter the longer he focused. At the last minute, before the light could become blinding, he tossed the card away from him.

The card landed neatly on the ground a few feet away from him. A moment after the light had dimmed a burst of energy blew out from the card, rustling the grass around it. "Huh... So that's what it does."

"Done it or done that?" He was grinning as he made his way across the grass to retrieve his card, blowing a bit of grass off of it before casting a glance in his friend's direction. "Could be it was just reflexes... Muscle memory? Corvus said something about my old weapon being a set of throwing cards. Interesting how some things carry over."

"Doesn't work that way for Knights-- Not all of them, at least. Some of us are reincarnations and others are descendants. I think the only way to tell is by going to your Wonder and finding out whether or not it's haunted." He tucked the card away before brushing his fingers through his hair as he glanced to his friend. "Up for a lap around the park?"

"Hell, I meant lap as in walk, but if you're worried that you might trip in those things I could always offer you my arm." He did so for emphasis with a soft smirk on his lips. He might have bowed, even, if he didn't think that Arsinoe would punch him in the arm.

"Let me spend a bit of time there on my own, just to figure out what we're in store for, and I'll take you. No idea where a Cosmos Wonder would be, honestly."

"Depends entirely on who you ask about that. To some a lap only counts if it's in a pool. Others aren't all that good with running, so they walk. I'll have to remember to change my words depending on my audience." His smirk broadened as he stepped back away from Arsinoe, shifting his cloak on his shoulders. It was easy enough to head back towards the path after that, knowing if they made it back around to the East end of the park it would put them closer to heading back to their apartment.

"Somewhere that just so happens to be right where it's needed? That's what I've heard about her, at least. Have you met her before?"

"From what I've heard she doesn't have to ask how you're doing, she just knows." He was at least partially teasing and the light smirk on his lips was proof enough of that. He had heard a story or two, however, most of which had been brought up simply because he was a Knight of Cosmos.

As they walked he drew his cards out of where he had tucked them into his sash, shuffling them together idly just to keep his hands busy. It made it a little easier to focus on everything around, confirming that the only aura he felt in the area was the one standing right beside him. "Are you going to be at the flat for dinner tomorrow? Or have you picked up another freelance assignment?"
