Chal bobbed his head to the song that Alma was singing, listing off the goods that they brought with them from the ranch. The words she sung had long disappeared though. Instead, he enjoyed the melodic rhythm of her voice. It didn't matter if she was actually an amazing singer or not, he enjoyed her voice. It was very noticeable when she stopped singing though and Chal stopped too, looking at her and following her eyes to the wheel, sitting in the water, no longer attached to the building. Of course, Chal didn't know that it was even supposed to be attached to the building. In fact, it looked like some sort of aquatic playground to him. "I wonder what that is for." He mused. "You remember this is my aunt and uncle's village?" Chal asked Alma. It was the reason he had decided to tag along with her, catch up with his family. "I have a lot of cousins, I think. Probably grand cousins, even. Actually... its my mom's aunt and uncle so that would make them my..." Chal was rambling now, lost in the branches of his gigantic family tree.

Jolting a foot into the air, one startled nymph came crashing back down to reality. At least he was wondering the same thing. "Some sort of large toy? Zofie said they grind things here but where?" The giant thing in the water couldn't be the wheel thing Zofie was talking about so what did it?
Scanning rapidly, measurements and dimensions flying around at rapid pace, Alma mentioned, "I am sure I could offer a few suggestions." Already most of the village was rebuilt brick by brick in her imagination.
Chal had such a large family! It was just her and Tora-momma, a dad somewhere but thats about it. It was alright, slipping her hand into Chal's Alma declared, "I can't wait to meet them and trade! Its a huge job Zofie and Stia trusted us with!" With him there, at least one of them would stay focused. What they had, she knew, what they were picking up was a little more ambiguous.

Siofra making coffee? Some part of his mind shouted how that was a bad idea, but the sleepy and preoccupied other half didn't really care. If she wanted to help, more power to her. "I'm going to clean our budding artist here. Sol! Grab Buster before he crawls into the cabinets again?" With Starry with Taiyo, Koit with Kyuten, himself with Buddy and Siofra on coffee duty, no one was paying mind to Buster. Which was a mistake. A large mistake.
With a yawn, the demon turned and walked into his bathroom, arm cradling his Poo Painter. Then he moved the toddler from arm to sink. 'Plumbing' was a mediocre thing, they had pipes leading out for drainage but nothing yet pumping water in. That was a work in progress. So instead he had the bucket of water brought up from last night that they kept to wash up in the morning. Grabbing a rag then from the sink top, he dipped it in to start scrubbing away at his little poopy hands. At Siofra's exclaimation, she turned her head to see what was going on. Oh. Oh babies were so gross sometimes. The demon gave a little jump when she heard her name. "Yes daddy!" Quickly now! She hurried down the hall towards the quads room, but before she could reach it, she noticed a yellow blob in the middle of the hallway. "Oh good morning big boy! Did you want to drink your baba in your playpen?" Soliel gently picked up the toddler, smiling softly at him. So mischevious the quads were, but he was so cute! Her hand was so...fingery. So interesting to eat. She had such little fingers-oh and now it was out of her mouth. The female blinked as Starry took her hand away to replace it with a bottle. She supposed that was a better trade off!
Happily sucking away, she forgot all about her earlier tantrum. A well fed baby was a happy baby.

"Good morning Koit." Star smiled to her middle son. "Siofra is supposed to have the coffee going, it'll be ready for you in a few." Seasons of seeing him struggle through the morning, she wouldn't ask much of him until he was actually awake. Just that he get up to start starting his day with the rest of them. Star's attention was back on Taiyo's diaper. Finishing the clasps on the clean one, having tossed the soiled one elsewhere.
"Okay little Taiyo, you're all clean." The mother of many cooed, gently booping her daughter's nose. Next up on the list, Kyuten. Because she seemed to be the only other baby in the room. "My Sweet, enjoy your bottle, I'll be right back." Her voice was almost singing. Guardians and Goddess so many diapers to change. She transferred Taiyo back into her crib, intensely glad Taiyo was strong enough to hold the bottle on her own.Q gave a gummy grin to the big snek guy. She liked Koit. "Baah~" She cooed, sticking the bottle in her mouth and trying to wave at him. He was a cool guy. Kyuten's staring was interrupted, with Yoyo coming back. She tilted her head, looking at her sister. Stubby fingers reached out to touch the other, only to be stopped short.
The toddler squeaked as she was picked up, carried to the changing table, and laid back down. But Yoyo was quiet! She wanted to talk to her sister! Q sniffled, tossing her bottle aside in protest. Even after big snek guy had given it to her!
Her protests went unheard, being forced through a diaper change, handed back her bottle, and held outside her cage. Unable to reach her quiet sister.Siofra grinned, bouncing into the kitchen to make coffee for the family. She'd never before been so grateful to be so much smaller than everyone else in the family, these mornings were intense. Siofra avoided being stepped on with a grace achieved only by doing so every day of her life. "Coffee time, coffee time, coffee time~" She sang, fluttering up to the top shelve, where she was pretty sure she'd last seen the bag. Victory! The oddball grabbed the bag and set about making what would go down in history, as the worst pot of coffee known to pae-kind. Junior stretched, yawning as he made his way up to the bridge. No waiting about for his lovely wife this morning, he was supposed to be on duty. Greeting any guests that might be coming through in the wee hours of the morning. The yellow demon was grateful for the morning shift though, it didn't hurt his eyes to look out. As luck would have it, they did actually have a visitor.
Holding back another yawn, he approached the pair in their wagon, intending to greet them. "Welcome to Star Grove!" Junior called, waving happily. At least, until he noticed their confused looks. Those were confused right? Probably. He couldn't tell. "How was your trip? Is everything alright?" He asked, concerned. Even if these two were just passing through, they at least needed to stop and relax a little while.

While Junior left early to greet guests, Nereus left a bit later as she got the household going. Waking up the kids, getting them breakfast, doing some light cleaning and of course getting ready herself. While Junior worked, she'd grab a few items from the mill. By the time she got on the 'road' -she actually just took the lake because she could swim easier than walk- Junior would've already reached Star Grove. But as she swam, she noticed something...different. The current was different. The female popped up, within eyesight of the water wheel. Which was currently very non-operation. Was this a planned maintence? She didn't think so. Neither Dameon or Starry were around it, only wide eyed spectators.
With a flick of her tail, she reached the bank. Fins turned to legs as she jumped out of the water. She had to get to Junior, and from Junior go to his parents.
She hurried towards the entrance, where she spotted the demon meeting with a wagon towed pair.

"Yeah, it really is a big responsibility." Chal agreed, it really was a surprising task to be assigned to them, it was one thing to do chores around the ranch and build things, but they were trading away some of their goods in order to fill some needs, when they had never helped with any trading before. How would they know a good deal? Though it did help that he was trading with a familiar village, his aunt and uncle would probably help out. "Thanks!" Chal responded as he tore his eyes off the water to greet Junior. "Yeah, everything is great, we were just admiring your..." Chal wasn't entirely sure what to call it. "scenery. "Hi, I'm Chal, your village leaders are relatives of mine, but we were hoping to do some trading as well." He put out a hand to greet Junior.

Rolling her shoulders back, Alma looked forward proudly fists on her hips. They were trusted to make a trade route clearly Zofie thought they were ready. Between the two of them, they'd never let their village down!
The yellow demon appeared greeting them. Throwing her hand out she proudly declared, "We are from Kurt's Ranch with trade!" Her echo followed Chal's supporting his response.
Now that they had someone from here, she had to ask, "Where is your water wheel?" Her eyes went from Junior back to water fall. It was where she'd put one but the big wheel like thing wasn't spinning.Dementia Requiem Asumi Thats her politely asking whats wrong with the wheel blaugh Tartara Seabreeze She hasn't seen Nereus but I am not ignoring the post heart

Junior didn't miss a beat, smiling as widely as he could. Visitors from the ranch were always a thrill. "Welcome welcome! We've been expecting you~" He couldn't help it, this is what he was supposed to be doing most of the time. The boy even looked familiar. A great deal like Uncle Raken. Junior chuckled, hearing the young male, "You're a cousin then. Nice to meet you. I'm Junior." He was about to offer his hand to shake, but the young girl brought up a very valid question. Or, it would've been valid if the water wheel wasn't a bright shining greeting for visiting pae'il. The yellow starred demon
Where is the water wheel? He turned around, looking for where it should have been. Instead there was just a massive amount of wreckage. The yellow stared demon's eyes went wide in horror. The wheel was broken. "Um... Uh. Excuse me" He managed, in a moment of utter shock. He turned, spotting his beloved not too far from him. Surely she had seen the disaster behind her. That could be the only reason she looked like she was rushing. "Wheel?" He asked, a tad breathless.

In no time at all the toddler was squeaky clean -almost like Dameon had done this dozens of times before- including his behind. He toss the rag into the clothes hamper and scooped up the naked boy. "Okay lil adventurer. Lets get you a fresh diaper and you'll be good to go." Back into the quadruplets room and onto the table. The yellow demon quickly powdered his soft bottom before securing a fresh diaper on. After thousands of diaper changes, he probably could change one in his sleep. "There we go! Ready to take on the island eh Buddy? ZOOM!" With his exclaimation he hoisted the toddler above his head to swoop him down in a dive bomb bird fashion. Swooping Buster then side to side, he walked out of the room and to the kitchen where the playpen was set up.
After a few successful escapes, they had tweaked the playpen yet again. The walls were high to his stomach and firmly strapped down to the floor, made of strong fish nets and sturdy sticks. In order to go in and out, there was a lock on the bottom and the top that would need to be pulled and twisted - pulling out like a peg then turned like a doorknob- to open the hinged door.Soliel had already opened the door and gotten inside with Buster and his bottle. She situated him on a pillow amongst the various stuffed animals, dolls, small blocks and other toys. She looked up when her father entered. "Look Buster! Your brother is all nice and clean now!"As she was swept up and placed back into her crib, Taiyo looked over at her sister with big eyes. She had a bottle too! With a wide grin she reached back, their chubby fingers almost connecting before her sibling was picked up. Hey!
Her face wrinkled up in distress, but the bottle in her mouth was more important than crying. Eating was hard when crying. So she resumed her meal, looking up at her looooong older brother. Why did he look so different than them? She liked that. He was fun.She had to approach this carefully. It wouldn't do bursting into their conversation no matter how urgent, as it could leave a unsavory impression on the new guests. But as she approached, Junior noticed her before she even opened her mouth. And he already knew exactly why. The naiad nodded seriously. "We should find your parents." Her eyes flicked to the nymph and shetani. "Ah, I mean, the village leaders."

They were expected? Oh that was good, maybe Zofie and the leaders already discussed what was to be traded? That would make life easier. "We are thrilled to be here!" The adventure was fun and every moment she spent with Chal was amazing.
It appeared the yellow demon was related to Chal? Looking between the too she couldn't see any family resemblance besides wing shape. Must be distant or they just didn't take after one another. The biggest mystery was that wheel.
Listening to the demon she had the distinct feeling something was wrong. He looked to the decidedly not turning wheel before sounding different. Was that it? What happened? What was it supposed to look like? "I can fix it!" Somewhere in her confident excitement, those three important question were left unvoiced.

"Mornin'" He offered back to his adoptive mother with a nod and a yawn, eyes drifting back down to the little one in the process. After affirming she was fine with the bottle, he offered a thumbs up before turning his head and blinking. Slowly. Slow enough, in fact, that the baby seemed to have changed.
Weird.
He coulda sworn that was Q just a second ago.
Oh well...
Shrugging (both internally and literally) he turned to fly himself over to the kitchen in search of that dark, bitter drink to force him awake. A key part of his day; in fact, one might say it was paramount to forcing him up on a regular basis. Normally the scent alone was enough to start clearing up his eyes. This day was no different, yet in a different manner. Nose wrinkling up, he made quite the face at the strangely bitter, burning, and altogether unappetizing odor coming from a pot.
Continuing this grimace as he looked to the culprate - his sister- he shot off a more witty comment than one would have normally expected from him at such hours of the day: "Did'ya remember to add water?"

Pelagious had finished his morning stretches and was now gathering his supply of jams and juices to trade. Petting a large plump batch of berries that were now permanently attached to him, he smiled and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Oh, my love. If only you could forgive me for that stupid night," he sighed, before popping a berry in his mouth.
As the feeling of nostalgia hit, he smiled at the memories before dusting off his scattered brain and putting a small hankerchief overbasket of goods.
"Now is not the time to dweel. WE have good to deliver Pelly, Boy."
Realizing that he was talking to himself, he merely chuckled. Then, humming to himself, he went out and down the beach to the bridge.
Oh. Look! People. HE loved people! Walking up into the thick of things with absolutely no tact, Pelagious smiled at everyone there. Was he still naked? You bet. Naked as the day he was born other than his grapes. He had yet to find a fabric that didn't squish his little dingleberries.
"Well, good morning strangers! How are you this fine day?" he asked cheerfully. At this point in his life, he was happy to have any socialization other than Pu. Pu was cranky.

A little giggle sounded in the bushes near the water wheel. No one really seemed to worried that the wheel was broken. Adults were so funny.
A little sparkle. A little rustle. Chiming laughter.
Then it was gone.

Junior barely nodded to his wife before sprinting to his parents' home. This was going to be a huge problem, and they had traders in the village here to have things ground for them. Guardians, Goddess, and Fishes, this was a mess!
"Daad!" He called, not winded from the sprint clear across the village. It was almost as if he ran constantly. "Dad! Mom! It's an emergency!" Their bear of a son called, hoping it was conveyed just how big an issue this was in his tone. The yellow demon burst into the kitchen, looking around for his parents. It didn't register that Koit was a zombie and his sisters were a flutter with activity, or even that he'd managed to loose track of his wife in this state. The wheel was broken!
Star blinked, hearing a familiar pounding through their home. Junior was visiting. This early? She stuck her head into the kitchen, looking at the panicked pae that resembled his father so very much. "Junior, what's wrong?" She asked, approaching him to gently pat his back. Something she'd done to comfort him since he was too tall for her to reach anything else.
Siofra looked at Koit, shaking her head. "There's lots of water in there." She squeaked, spilling coffee grounds all over the counter when Junior burst into the kitchen. She was supposed to be putting that back up! "Goddess! Junior what the heck?!" She frowned, gathering her wits. She wasn't that jumpy, but Junior was always composed? Wasn't he? Something was wrong!

Silence followed as the nymph stared at the thing now identified as a wheel. Her eyes went to the wheel house then to the wheel itself. As that was analyzed, the area on the other side of the wheel caught her attention. Ideas formed first reasonable then Alma fashion brilliance.
Sudden voice threw her off as Pelagious spoke to her. It was disorientating to get pulled out of the great project and it took a few moments to pull back out of the clouds. "Hello! I am Alma. I need rocks, Can you get me lots of rocks? about this size?" Her hands formed roughly 2x2 shape before the young lady took off like a shot.
Flying over to the wheel like an oversized dragonfly, Alma hovered over where the wheel was supposed to be as she mentally took measurements. First step was to flutter where the wheel should be attached and fly a single tight loop around to get a scope. One loud 'hmm' followed then she shot off to the other side of the bank. From here she flew in a modest circle at first before looking at the mental stone post to hold the tower in place.
Pinching her lips together she shifted to the left and the right pondering before flying a bigger circle from the 'base' up to where it would meet the wheel. Well now, that was silly, so she continued to circling up until she reached the top of the wheel house. That 'balanced' better but wasn't near as grand.
Still, hands on hips she turned and shouted, "Alright, I need strong rope, strong backs and as much roughly cut stone as possible. We are going to put the wheel back and build. Anyone have power to stop the water? Or lift really heavy things?" Full of confidence, there wasn't a question as to her request getting done. In her focus and eagerness, the giggles and sparkles went completely unnoticed. Nothing came between an exciting project and a focused Alma.FA UH OH I both love and fear this
