Whisler nodded. “Okay, sorry for thinking that then. I know you wouldn’t lie to me...I just...every time you mention your wonder and…” He shook his head. “I’m just thinking about it too much, I’m sorry.”
He forced another grin onto his face and grabbed Newgrange’s hand, letting his powered form shimmer away, leaving Nick in its place. “How about I take you to dinner to celebrate, and we can go back to my place and you could stay the night? We can watch movies...and I started working on a new puzzle that I’d love your help with...what do you say?”
It was the only thing he could think of to get the other knight’s mind off of what he had said. He was honestly, thoroughly wishing he had just kept his mouth shut. But, this was a feeling he was more than use to where Arias was concerned.

Newgrange was relieved and flashed a smile at him. "That sounds perfect, Nick."
He powered down, still holding Nick's hand. He gave his hand a good squeeze and then leaned over to kiss him on the cheek.
"I love you," he said. "And spending time with you."
Even if sometimes Arias wound up saying or doing the wrong thing, he knew he loved Nick and he knew he didn't want to hurt him. Still, a night with Nick--a date night, by the sound of it, made him feel better about their conversation, already.
If Nick really wasn't in any hurt to see his wonder, maybe instead of training he could clean things up a bit--or maybe he should just suck it up and take him with him the next time, regardless of its condition or the fear he had that his ancestor would treat him cruelly and push him away.
But he could worry about that later.
For now, they'd have a good night, and Arias would do his best to make sure Nick was happy and knew that he was loved and wanted.
