Happily fed, Menolly had no complaints with cleaning up breakfast. Going comfortably towards the sink, she turned the water on and prepared to clean the dishes. "This won't take any time to clean up!" Training idea still wasn't one she felt great about but it was with Raken so it had to be amazing.

now to get the dishes done in less time XP

As Menolly ran the water, he picked up the dishes. He then walked over, and stuck said dishes into the awaiting basin. Running water. On one hand, quite handy to have. On the other, there was a reason why he left Headquarters. He preferred things he made by hand himself. Still, having hot water without boiling a kettle did speed things up considerably, and he was eager to begin their day.

There was a bar of castile soap. Fairly easy to make, made of oil and lye. Typically back home he'd make his hunting fat into tallow and use that with the lye, but it was so much quicker to just use the market gained oil. Of course, what would be quicker still is to just buy a bar of soap. Or grab one from the bathhouses Menolly had talked about.

But where was the satisfaction in that?

"Well, we could make things ever quicker. Would you mind cleaning as I gather our gear?" Would cut the time in half.

Had to research like, for 15 minutes on soap making to be sure it was something Raken could and would actually do XD Lye is just boiling ashes, so animal fat + ashes is pretty simple.

Humming to herself as she eagerly got to work, Menolly easily offered an answer with a golden eyed glance, "Alright!" Part of that followed her not thinking clearly, if she'd heard herself over the good mood the answer would have been different.

There was something deceptively calming about washing dishes, it cleared her mind and left room for only guardian hymns.

Three posts and done with a task? Blasphemy!

Today would be an easy day. Just seeing what she could do. As such, he didn't need much. He grabbed the training sword he would use and grabbed a thick stick -he always had sticks laying about. They were very handy to have. Two water pouches to keep hydrated, a hand fan incase she became overheated, and a basket. While there he'd find some small rocks to test her throwing accuracy.

As he gathered, a soft sound lifted through his humble abode. Singing. Ah, a good hymn. He closed his eyes to enjoy the sound a moment before resuming his search for bandages. They were surprisingly difficult to find, buried under a pile of random items. If he did hurt himself it was never badly, and little cuts didn't require medical attention. But Menolly...he had a sinking suspicion it would be wise to take them along for the angel.

Back to the kitchen, rifling through cabinets to gather some food items as lunch. Smoked venison, a loaf of bread and two apples. Easy foods to eat with their hands, and would keep well out in the open while they trained. "...Alright...I think...I just about have everything."

Dishes found themselves washed thoroughly, dried and put back to where they belonged. Or where she was reasonably sure they belonged when it came to a few things she didn't see brought out. Guardians be praised that Raken appeared done with his tasks, she was starting to feel the anxiety build up.

Quickly moving back to his side, she cheered on, "We are ready for the day!" At this point there was a possibility she'd forgotten what exactly they had planned. Nothing mattered if she could spend more time with him.

He smiled faintly at her enthusiasm, and gave a nod in response. With that the demon made his way to the door, certain that Menolly would follow. She liked staying close to him. 'Personal space' seemed a bit foreign to the girl. Or rather, was quickly disregarded. He was quickly learning that fighting her sticky tendencies was a losing battle, and to simply make the best of it.

He held the door open for her to step through before closing it behind them to walk out onto the quiet morning street. A deep breath of fresh air. Maybe tonight he'd open the windows to clear some of the stuffiness that had accumulated. Then he turned down the path leading towards the training ground, the basket softly tapping his thigh from where he carried it, sword and stick sticking out from both ends. Blue eyes flicked upwards to the sky, looking at the cloud cover. "Should be a perfect day for this. A little overcast, but I don't think it'll rain."

Raken's faith was not misplaced, Menolly followed right at his heels never more than arms length from the demon. He knew where they were going so her attentions quickly flitted to everything around them. As long as Raken stayed in her peripheral view there was nothing to worry about.

Rather, Menolly waved to a few passing by denizens she recognized with typical enthusiasm.

Upon hearing his voice, Raken right back to being the center of her attention. Listening to his observation, she cast her golden eyes up to the sky as well. With her head tilted she took time to consider the skyline. "I think you are right, I don't feel any rain in the air." Meteorology wasn't a power of hers, she was never granted one herself, but paying attention to nature hardly took a power.

Even if it did rain, hardly seemed like a bother to her, unless he hated getting wet. Something told her that her companion wasn't fussy.

He was quite keenly aware of the stares. Over time, he was now less of a novelty and so him just existing didn't pull any attention. But him and another pae, never mind a female pae walking side by side...Well that would be cause for some gossip for the typical mundane household. Raken mostly pretended not to notice.

He glanced back down from the sky with a nod. "Keen observation. No real humidity increase or smell. Which is good news for our bread." No one liked soggy bread.

Oh look there, a friend from the kitchens! Menolly fluttered up just enough to wave happily. The friend had stopped walking and just looked at the two of them before returning Menolly's wave. The return seemed weak for food prep friends.

Maybe she'd been away too long? Another pass of her hand she settled back to the ground. There was no time to puzzle over the wide eyed glance because Raken had spoken.

Once again he'd earned her full attention as he agreed with her. Just a touch of pride colored her face pleased with herself. "Right!" Bread soup is never a good look.

Imagine how confused anyone would be, meet Menolly then get introduced to Raken. Or the otherway around get all intimidated by the demon then sunshine and light bounces in.

Only his eyes moved at Menollys jump up, acknowledging her movement and reasons before returning back forward. Not before touching upon the wide eyed stare of her friend though. Just a quick glance, and back to the road. Worth a moment of consideration and nothing more. With a light smile at her pleased agreement, he was content to settle in relative quiet of their walk. Her happily bouncing and waving to random friends -she did have quite a few, no doubt due to her outgoing nature- and him walking in calm directness towards their destination.

As they walked, gradually the pae would fall away. Regular folk didn't much come this way. Merchants and trade workers didn't have a use for a training ground. If they were lucky, perhaps they'd catch a squire or the odd fighter minded pae out there. But most times he'd been out here he'd have the area to himself. Still, he was mindful to make his typical grounds away from the main sections. Off to a little corner to not disturb and to not be disturbed.

The more they walked the more Menolly started to notice the area around them. In what would be no surprise to anyone, she'd never been to the training grounds. In honesty, she didn't even know they were there or what happens there.

Yet, here she was, walking into the area. Her pace never slowed but her attention was fully on puzzling out everything around her. Just what were they going to do here?

As they reached his patch of area, he gently set down the basket and swords before trotting over to where some dummies were lined up nearby.

With ease, he lifted one of them to carry back, like it weighed no more than a sack of flour. Though in reality was closer to 50 pounds.

He sat it down, and it landed with a heavy 'thud'. Made primarily of wood, they wouldn't be doing much harm to it. Menolly certainly wouldn't, at least not today. "Alright, so first I need to know what level you are in...about everything. So I know where to start. Today will be devoted just to that, and basic warm ups. What are you most confident in? Strength, endurance, agility or speed?" From appearances, he would hazard a guess that she was most likely endurance and speed rather than strength or agility. But he didn't want to answer for her.

Unsure what to do, Menolly stayed by the basket while Raken went out to do whatever it was he was doing. He had her attention as empty as her understanding was.

Head titled with a finger resting on her lips, Menolly puzzled out what he was asking about. Strength, endurance, agility or speed? With all the elegance of a dunce she first responded, "Huh?" How should she answer?

Thinking as hard as she could, she tried to satisfy him with something, "I can lift anything in the kitchen, I don't know about endurance, maybe agility? Speed..I've never had to run." After growing everywhere she'd been was walking, but speed surely meant running.

He watched her expectantly, blue eyes on the golden haired angel. Her response was not quite what he anticipated, but considering she was a powerless, City dwelling pae what really was he expecting? Her to rattle off her bench press numbers?

He nodded thoughtfully. "Alright. Strength and Agility first. I want you to give me as many pushups as you can in a minute." Smoothly he dropped down to the ground to show her the proper technique. "Your core is engaged. Flat. Your rear is even with your body, not above you or below you. You lower yourself down." His arms bent to lower his body. "Get as close to the ground as you can, but do not touch the ground. Keep your neck relaxed. Then lift yourself up." He extended his arms, pushing himself back up. Muscles smoothly rippled down his back and arms. "That's one pushup." Demonstration over, he curled his legs up to stand. "Show me what you've got. No pressure though. I just want to see where you are at fitness wise, and we can always improve."

He was talking, Menolly fully recognized that he was trying to instruct her in something. Trouble was, watching him demonstrating a push up was more distracting then instructive. He had her complete attention, every movement bringing out the already noticeable muscular. The light really complemented the..oh.

Only when he stood up did she shake her head and nod, "I'll give it a try!" Okay, what was he doing again? Getting down like he instructed, Menolly gave her attempt. Working in the kitchens helped a little with strength, it wasn't functional power for unfamiliar movements.

Normally great posture, her back curved a little, and her rump was a bit higher then it should be. Watching the action was one thing, and watching closely at that, it was another feel when her body was behaving right or wrong.

One attempt at going down and she was flat on her face, wincing more at her chest hurting then the embarrassment. The pride would hurt later, this was her first ever attempt at such an action and it had going about as well as expected.
