While making her rounds, Elidae eventually came back to the starlight booth, hoping her further practice paid off. To her surprise, an entirely different troll appeared to be the judge today. A different, but not unfamiliar face!

"Saschaaaaaa!" Elidae called, bouncing to the fellow yellowblood with an excited smile and wave. "Oh my gosh- your hair is growing in fabulously~" Elidae touched her cheek while gently taking the ends of his hair between her fingers. Although curious by Sascha's presence, Elidae took to the stage effortlessly, gaining a stronger sense of confidence. She was sure he would love her performance! Just as she practiced, she belted out the notes, yet before she could finish her song, the yellowblood already got to his feet to praise her.

When asked if Aandes had heard her yet, Elidae blinked with her lips pursed, then her lips broke into a wide, nervous grin. "Actually- um- well, I did, but it didn't go so well as I wanted it to. But! I'll try again later!"

okay i only selected that for shits and giggles because kaldru wants to impress sascha b-but

"Wow! It's you! You do this kind of thing too?!"

Kaldru hadn't really been expecting to try the Starlight booth again; in truth, he only passed it on his way to find somewhere with something tasty to eat, but a glance over grabbed his attention. His short trip to Chittentown had left a distinct impression on him, and while he didn't have any real sense of who the other performers were, he recognized him. The awesome yellowblood who let him 'fly'! The little troll practically fell over himself to run over and say hi, even if the older probably wouldn't remember him.

"That's amazing~ What else do you do? How have you been? Are--"

Fortunately (or unfortunately...) for the yellowblood, Kaldru's position meant he was supposed to go up and perform. In an overenthusiastic attempt to impress, he tried to sing a song, though he ended up in a completely different tempo and key than the original, and his dance was certainly ... not done before. If nothing else, he was a creative little troll, and he had some air in him, but he definitely wasn't trained in the slightest.

That ... that meant he was just creative, right? When he was ushered offstage, he had the biggest stupid grin on his face.

"Did I do good?"

FAMILIAR - 3 points

Akkira really didn't come to take the booth seriously, she came because she heard the voice of a familiar a*****e and she decided that maybe she could pay him a visit. All the performances were either super serious, super good or really, really bad. She figured she might as well give it a shot before she actually bugged Sascha. Getting up on stage, she picked the silliest song she could find and sang her little heart out in the most ridiculous way possible.

There was a stream of keys from a piano some other music, and she started the Lyrics, "Oh You can dance, you can Jive having the time of your Liiiife---" By the time she was done she posed dramatically and grinned to Sascha. "Haha, yeah of course it was a joke! I can't come into a booth like this and take it seriously, Not yet anyway," she bowed theatrically and then replaced the mic.

Akkira strode over to the current judge on duty once her show was over. "Hey, so it sounds like your more of a big deal than I thought you were," she put her hands on her hips. "So I was wooondering, could I touch your hair?" a broad smile. "And your face."

Not again. He would not flub Karaoke again, like last time.

Mahmud was resolute in his desire to not suck, and he got up onto the stage and began to slam some poetry he truly loved... but in all his concern, in all his worry, he forgot the most important rule to Karaoke: Have Fun! Instead he was incredibly serious the whole time, until Sascha pointed out that he was far too stiff.

At that moment, Mahmud lost all nerve, gave a little nod, finished his song, and got off that stage as fast as trolly possible. The other troll was encouraging, sure, but...

Polair wanted to try something out of her comfort zone and this booth seemed everything she would never do. So she made her way upstage, getting a similar feeling when she first explored Cerpin's club. She wasn't particularly nervous, why should she? Because she was going to do something ridiculous?

Well, that was enough to put some pressure on her. The music started and she wasn't really feeling it so she sang very... monotone. Perhaps Sascha didn't appreciate it, after all he technically labeled her performance as "dangerous." Dangerous how?

Polair let him have the mic, she didn't put any resistance. What she was going to do, she was going to get better. And he would see the progress.

Froggy Friend
Theatrical

Froggy Friend took to the stage once more, this time prepared to sing a much more complex song. There was a different judge tonight, and Sonnie was fairly clueless on the best way to impress him. He hoped he could win him over with general showmanship, at least.

Tonight, he would attempt something a bit more theatrical. A twist on an old language classic. Perhaps the crowd would have a hard time understanding him, but as long as he made it fun, he supposed they would enjoy it!

As the song started up, he danced along the the beat, bopping and twisting in time with the words. Occasionally he'd throw in an extra special dance move, a spin, or a reach for the crowd. The more they loved it, the more Sonnie got into it. Giving the crowd what they wanted felt natural to him, and he was more than happy to impress them.

He took a tiny bow and waited for Sascha's reaction. Pleased that he impressed tonight's judge, he clapped with joy and posed for the crowd, exiting the area with a tiny wave.

Psykgi Mentha

She didn't know this troll (though he was apparently Aandes' bodyguard and hadn't Leeroi mentioned someone named Sascha?) but she didn't see why she shouldn't give it a try.

Oddly enough, a song popped into her head this time - a throaty song, about oscillating romance and promises broken and unbroken. She gave it a sing... where had she heard it?

Oh. Ohhh.

It had been while she was dating Eridia. She hadn't listened to it much at the time, and she didn't think it was on the forefront of her thinkpan before. So why now?

"What I said ~ When you left me; Does not matter, anymore, because you said certain things before...~ she sang, getting really into it if only to excise the thoughts from her mind. She didn't want to think about Eridia for a while yet, but it was good to remove this song from memories of their black relationship. It was a step - another step - towards rebounding.

"And I promised, with our last kiss, that we would have a final reckoning... and you said, as you bled, that that was true..."

That was when she realized that it was sounding very good. It didn't take long to see why - he was singing with her, and what a voice. Not something she would have expected. She finished and bowed.

"Quite a song, huh?" she said, before moving out of the way of the next troll. She left, humming the tune as she went.

BUFFEL OBILLE
Folksy
Points: +2

Buffel waited in the back, not paying attention to his competition. He saw a mic onstage and saw this music competition for what it was. He didn't read any signs and only saw people singing with a microphone in front of them. Taking the stage at his turn, he pulled out his trusty harmonica. Taking a long breath, he began playing, shakily at first in front of a crowd, but he evened out. It looked like someone was going to go onstage, but was stopped. He finished his song, mostly alright with some notes out of place, and looked to the judge for approval. The reviews were positive, but it was only after that Buffel was informed this was a singing competition. Not a bad tune though!

Lorata was taking a rare break from her own booth, wandering idly through the crowd to see all the different kinds of games and trolls about. She was half on the lookout for some familiar faces that she hadn't seen around yet, and half considering advertising for the Sirens' booth to send more people back that way, when the Starlight Talent Agency caught her eye. Curious despite herself, she moved in to have a look at how different it might be from last Bloodfest.

Singing wasn't really something she'd ever thought of doing professionally or anything, but there definitely was something appealing about the idea of the attention of the crowds. It could be fun to play tonight, at the very least! Giggling a little, she collected a microphone and made her way on stage to do a performance of a song she knew well, playing up every line of hero seeking theatrically for the fun of it. As soon as she finished, she looked up to see how the judge had taken it.

There was a distinct beat of silence. Just long enough for her to decide that she recognized this troll, in point of fact, before he finally lifted his hands to clap politely, as if he'd been listening at all. "What? She demanded icily, stepping down off the stage with a click of high heels. "Do you not like the song?"

Poe wasn't much for singing, but he just had to check out Odette's booth. She wasn't there, of course. Maybe another time she would be? He didn't have much money to buy merch but he picked up one of the lipsticks, and wondered if Ninfia would like it. Did they wear lipstick? Could you use lipstick like blush? He... wasn't sure, but bought it all the same.

He picked up the microphone and went for a folksy rendition of a song he knew. Poe'd never used a karaoke machine before and he certainly wasn't about to start now! Just classic singing. He's pretty sure Sascha left in the middle of his performance... which is probably for the best.

Lillie Vardah
Style: Theatrical
Points: 2

This booth had been the first to catch Lillie's eye, and although she was feeling somewhat shy about it, she figured it couldn't hurt to croon a song she'd heard once or twice when venturing to the resort to buy some gardening supplies. Her voice was soft and gentle, or so she thought, but when she heard the karaoke beat thrum on the air and saw the colorful words begin to scroll in front of her eyes, something a bit more primal - theatrical, perhaps, began to take hold of her voice with its quavering quality.

And, well, it didn't go over too badly!

        Quote:
"Yeah! SING it, man! I mean, the notes are totally wrong, but damn if that ain't some showmanship you've got going on." (+2)

Lillie blushed green as she nodded her thanks, hopping off the stage with a giddy leap. She'd never prided herself on any kind of knowledge of pitch, anyway.

"Dude, seriously!? Give me that before you hurt somebody! This is how you put on a show!" Sascha has taken your microphone and your song. It's his performance now. (+0)

Karaoke was one of Cerpin's favorite activities, right after plucking on his guitar and flirting with every troll he saw. So when he saw the Starlight Booth, he'd made a beeline straight to it in order to show off his musical chops. He didn't really recognize the troll judging them and wondered if he'd had the bad luck to miss the producer Aandes LaMode. Well whatever, he could come back another night and do this again.

"Alright, this one goes out to all the lonely biscuits out there-" He grinned and cleared his throat before launching into his performance. Damn, he felt alive when he was in front of a crowd! The purpleblood's hips swayed to the beat and he began to dance in exaggerated movements to capture the attention of the crowd. Now he just needed an audience member to pull into the show with him. And-

Here came the judge? Wait, what the ******** was he doing?!

"The way you make me- hey!" Sascha was yanking the microphone straight out of his hand and rocking Cerpin's song. He blinked in total confusion as well, this had never really happened to him. The rockstar was usually so hyped up that other trolls tended to avoid him instead of hijacking his routine. He attempted to elbow his way back in and continued to sing while leaning towards the mic in a vain attempt to catch his voice on it.

If Sascha wanted a karaoke battle, he was gonna get one! The energy of a competitor only made Cerpin burn hotter and he almost looked pleased at the idea of a duet. He continued to rock out and roll his body to the music in an attempt to out-cool this ******** yellowblood.

"You really turn me on!" The night felt electric.

"Pfft! This ain't even the half of it," Sascha crowed. He leaned over the counter he was sitting at to watch the little blueblood make his way around the booth and onto the stage. Sascha was never one to have a good memory for other trolls, but Kaldru had made a good impression to say the least. Simple symbol, iconic look, and it didn't hurt he was so unbelievably enthusiastic for all things Sascha. It gave Sascha all the more encouragement to impulsively take the kid's spot on stage in the end.

"Good effort! Love the energy! Work on the technical stuff more, though, alright? Like this-"

KitsuneAura
Sascha shuffled the papers he'd been taking notes on. To the surprise of most, what he'd written thus far was detailed and comprehensive. It was also heavily biased according to which contestants had been "rad" or otherwise "nerdlords supreme," but Sascha had always insisted on putting his own spin on schoolfeeding exercises.

Halfway through recording the symbol of the current troll onstage, Sascha paused. This was familiar in an unpleasant way. He was so caught up he almost didn't realize the song had ended. He was still too slow, unfortunately, and the seadweller noticed. In further misfortune, her snappish response kicked Sascha's memory into gear and he remembered where he'd remembered Lorata Gorgos from.

"Wha-What!? No! Of course not! I... I just realized that I knew your from somewhere before and I was, uh, caught up trying to remember. Um. SO... how've you been? Bloodfest treating you alright..?" Somehow Sascha felt like he was the one being judged at that moment.

Sascha laughed outright upon seeing Akkira hit the stage. He figured he couldn't be too surprised that she'd show up, being a semi-professional singer and semi-friend of his. Still, he appreciated the drop in, regardless. Despite her inability to appreciate the comedic effect, Sascha made sure to shimmy dramatically in his seat throughout Akkira's performance.

When Akkira had finished, Sascha kicked out of his seat and leaned over the counter. "Evidence is starting to suggest you can't take most things seriously, Kagome. Would've called shenanigans if you had." Sascha rolled his whole head along with his eyes and grinned.

"Surprise! Aandes and I go way back. I do sing, but professionally I'm the big man's bodyguard. I also dance. Also I'm a psychokinetic lab rat, but you already knew that one. Lotta irons, lotta fires." Sascha's eyebrows rose at Akkira's request, but decided it really wasn't all that odd given the circumstances. "Yeah, sure, knock yourself out. Would be criminal to keep this labor of love from the general populace. Watch the neck, though. That part's still kinda messed up." He leaned over the counter to close their height difference.

Yamashii
Sascha had stolen a lot of microphones in his day... That day being this very night at Bloodfest. This was the first time a troll had ever straight up refused him, though. What was more surprising was the amount of showmanship put into the block. If anything, Sascha would have anticipated a purpleblood to shut him down completely. (Which lead Sascha to retroactively wonder why he thought hijacking highbloods was a good idea in the first place.) Instead, the two trolls ended up in an impromptu duet that, if Sascha was being entirely honest, totally rocked.

"You knock me offa my feet, now baby~" Sascha leaned into the performance. It was devolving into part karaoke battle, part game of chicken. Sascha had the distinct feeling neither of them gave much regard to personal space to begin with.
