Habitat Chosen: Kelp forests
Response:  Abha found the kelp forest very interesting she wrote down. "I found it interesting to know that kelp forest can be found in both warm and cold seas. Many kelp plants have pneumatocysts, or gas-filled bladders that keep the kelp floating in a upright position. Many different creatures depend on kelp forests for survival. Kelp though it looks like a plant is actually a large type of algae." Abha smiled she enjoyed her research on the kelp forest. She wondered if she would be able to find one nearby for her to go swimming and explore. Abha looked up at the teacher after writing her paper. She wondered what the teacher liked to do on their off days. Her mind drifted in the water of thought and swimming in a kelp forest in her mind chasing after the cute teacher. It was very distracting and Abha was deep in her day dream.

Your Fish: 4, Chondrichthyes
Response: Abha chose to study Chondrichthyes for this class, she was fascinated by the sharks and rays. She learned that the Chondrichthyes didn't have a bone structure like the Osteichthyes, instead, the sharks and rays internal structure was made up of cartilage. Another interesting fact she learned was that the species set does not have ribs. The larger of the species unable to leave the water because their massive weight would crush their internal organs. It wasn't a surprise that they had no bone marrow since they didn't have bones. She was amazed that they didn't produce red blood cells, instead, they had another way of building an immune system. Some have tooth-like scales, while others like the Rays had spiny tails for defense. Abha was amazed all she read about the Chondrichthyes species groups. She was very pleased with this class and all she had learned that day. Writing her paper.

you may enter up to THREE students per stage for the remainder of the month! This will also close on the 30th instead of the 28th as another apology!
