Pruu pressed her lips slightly. "I do not wish to speak to you so sharply. You did nothing to earn such a tone." She had been asked to help Nivalis feel better, and that conversation was surely not the way to do it.
Training blades in hand, she walked over to the field and crouched. "Accepting another sister's misdirected anger encourages nothing but sniveling and sulking from that sister." Blades up, she peered over them at the young mystic. "You will only hold us back if you believe that you do. You will have much on your shoulders to come, Nivalis. Time for you to get back into practice! Block!" She jumped forward, swinging a blade around toward Navalis' shoulder.

She supposed... they were just likely to disagree on many things. While Nivalis wanted her sisters to feel confident enough in her own abilities and mindset that they could speak freely toward her, she also understand that Pruu likely still had reservations. She didn't want to come off as 'rude.' The were blood, born of the same great mother, but that didn't mean she'd earned Pruu's trust and openness. That would take some work yet.
She followed after the other girl as they headed toward the training yard. Neither did Niva think 'accepting misdirected anger' encouraged sniveling. They were strongest as a group, and she felt it was her duty to help work out such problems. No one had come sniveling and skulking to her, yet, although... Her minty gaze fell to her hands, still smaller than most and uncalloused from only barely vigorous training. There would hopefully be much time to come for such an opportunity to arise.
Once they'd made it to the courtyard, she stalled, and turned to face her 'opponent.' Pruu was older than her, dutifully respectful, and already against those who could prove to be 'too weak' to stand among them.
Nivalis wasn't about to fall into those ranks.
At Pruu's command, she snapped her spear out and forward, and the clatter of metal hitting the wood of her pole was deafeningly close to her ear. She twisted, notching her sister's blades away from her, and stepping back. After drawing a quick breath, Niva nodded. It would be good to pick herself up again. She needed this. She wasn't the only one who's lost a sister. Everyone else had too. She couldn't mope any longer.

For a short moment, Pruu wondered if she was doing the right thing. All at once though, Nivalis bounced up and blocked quite successfully. When she felt the push returned against her attack, she couldn't help grinning with satisfaction. There was the firm stance she liked to see. "Good!" she encouraged, resetting her own stance as well. "Again!" This time, she dove to Nivalis' side and swung her blade up from the ground up.

Now she was ready. Even though the actual sparring session had only been going on for a short span of minutes, Nivalis felt better. Maybe it was the continued movement, or the fresh, crisp morning air (instead of the stuffy stale air from inside her tent). But it was probably Pruu's companionship that did the most. Niva had her whole family to take care of yet, while Zinnia had already passed into the care of their mother. She was fie. She felt better.
At Pruu's next attack, she blocked as instructed and stepped forward to make a strike of her own.
Their spar continued from there, rhythmically swapping blows, dancing in the sense they'd been trained in. By the time she was satisfied with their time spent, Nivalis' muscled ached. She'd taken a few glancing blows herself, and was liked bruised and scratched in some places, though one so severe they'd need any substantial amount of attention. She was sticky with the sweat of adrenaline and beaming brightly in her sister's direction.
Breathing heavily, she reached for Pruu's arm. "I appreciate the time you've given me today," Niva told the older girl. "I'm sure it was burdensome to your schedule, and I can't imagine you wanted to deal with me being in this... mood," she admitted. "But I feel much better, and I am happy to have had the opportunity to spend some time with you."

Pruu was panting by the time that warm touch came to her arm. The sparring had been exciting, yes, but it was seeing Nivalis break out from that shell of gloom before her eyes that left her breathless with delight. Little made her prouder than to see the strengths of her sisters.
Nodding, she wiped at a bit of perspiration on her own face before reaching out to hold Nivalis' shoulder. "It was my honor, Nivalis. To see you as you are now is more than enough to have made this time worthwhile. Do not hesitate to find me if you wish to spare again, or for anything you need."
