Lawrence gave Melvin a bit of a twisted sort of smirk for his threat to split his lip, unable to help the effect the threat of violence had on him. It was almost unbearable as Melvin moved close, taking a slow deep breath before he moved away again. He was glad he was busy with the mission, it meant at the very least it would keep him away from him and keep his ridiculous irresistible scheming out of the way too.
He raised a brow at Terry. "I am not a medical doctor yet." he said. "Unless you consider yourself an animal for one reason or the other I am not qualified, though I will be in due course." He felt a disclaimer was in order, just in case anyone decided to fine him for impersonating a medical professional on top of everything else he was being fined for.
He shrugged. "I could give you a physical though." he said with another of those devious smirks. "But it would be strictly unprofessional."

Rodney showed up in as long as it took to run to the beach, looking as upset and out of sorts as he had the first time.
And for the sad, delicate, and flinching man, almost...angry?
His scarf was wrapped up in his fist. Seven, he knew, was hoping for a fight, but he wasn't violent. He didn't choose to be violent.
His arms felt warm. He didn't look at his tattoos.
He didn't have a plan.

Melvin had to pause and smile at Terry's ignorance of Lawr's nature, all of which went thoughtful as Lawr followed in with a quick little flirt of his own. "Oh no, Terry. If he actually did anything professional or even as a hunter, I might actually have to pay him something ridiculous and he would hate that. I doubt his endurance could last with the rest of us."
He rose his hand up to rest at the back of Terry's neck lightly. "He would rather watch us work."
Directing Terry to a bench, he released him before smiling at the new arrivals. "Now how about I help you get fitted. Taking a suit that would best work for Terry's size, he unzipped the back and knelt down before him, holding it out for him to step in. "Use my shoulder if you need an anchor."
It was then that he saw Rodney. "Seems we have more company." He waved to the other hunter storming up the beach.

Terry was never so grateful that his instinctive go-to reaction was a non-reaction. "I am forced to decline your non-professional offer then, Doctor," his answer was calm and even, showing neither disappointment nor relief. The arrival of another hunter had raised Terry's spirit somewhat, believing it would be Kim but only to find it wasn't her.
The Life trainee couldn't help but feel like he'd just been dragged into the middle of a shounen-ai series. Though looking down to find Melvin kneeling at his feet to assist him for a fitting had Terry amend the scenario to yaoi. The look on his face was a careful blank that masked the sudden skip of his heart and the racing of his pulse. What he could not hide, however, was the very clear blush that was blossoming on his face.
"Um," this time his voice cracked, as if he was just in the beginning stages of puberty. But he rallied and coughed to clear his throat as he too got down on his knees in an attempt to take the diving suit from Melvin. "I am capable of putting it on myself, I wouldn't want to monopolize your hands. Time! I meant time!" Terry looked like he was ready to spring away at a moment's notice.

Melody eventually showed up and marched out onto the beach and straight up to Melvin, she was wearing a skirted two-piece. She put her hands on her hips and looked like she was about to scold him.

When Rodney arrived Lawr hurried over to him and got behind him, putting his bad arm around him. He wasn't phased by Melvin touching Terry, hardly jealous of him offering to squeeze a trainee into an unflattering wetsuit. He'd just used the opportunity to get away from him instead.
Behind Rodney he leaned his forehead to his back like a clingy child.
"I told him no more touching." He said. "But he won't take the hint. I came to help out with the mission, I didn't know he was running it, just someone told me the pay was good."

Rodney touched Lawrence's arm lightly.
"M-melvin," he said, throat feeling hot, and taking a deep breath. "I know...you're still angry. And you have...every right, to be, to want to make- b-both of us, suffer, but please don't...take it out on him, this way. D-darker feelings like that they just...get darker."

Melvin smiled as innocently as he could appear and debated insisting until he saw a shadow drape across him. Looking up, he smiled at the petite lady frowning. "Hello, Melody. You look ready to get on this mission. Thank you for arriving."
Turning back, he handed the suit to Terry and patted the back of his hand. "Alright, but I will inspect after to make sure the suit is on correctly.
Standing up, he could hear a bit of what Rodney was saying but for the show they were both making, it really didn't have the volume needed. The Lifer had to wonder if that was the loudest Rodney ever got and guessed the noise insulating walls he and Lawr worked to install in the bedrooms were rather pointless now.
"I'm sorry. What was that? You need to come closer. Also get suited up if you are helping. We will be heading out soon." He announced and smiled at both Rodney and Lawr.

Lawrence stayed close to Rodney, feeling oddly better now that the other man was there, even if he had all the intimidation factor of a wet dish rag. He had decided to take the whole, moral bargaining route rather than violent protecting his honour but that was actually fine with him.
"I'm not going in the water." he said, "Obviously."

"I said," Rodney started with a raise in volume so severe it was almost a normal speaking voice, although it looked like it physically pained him to manage, "dark feelings only get darker."

Melvin sighed and rose a finger to the team before walking over to Rodney.
"I'm sorry. I'm rather confused about what you are talking about, but we are preparing for a mission I have spent a long time organizing. I would greatly appreciate the help but if Lawr refuses to let me inspect his gear to ensure it works properly then I'm afraid he cannot participate. If you want to make sure it is secure then you may do so under my guidance. If not then please do not distract those present. I can chit chat later if you need to talk."
"Please. I cannot afford my research and lives to be compromised."

Melody watched the exchange between Lawr, Rodney, and Melvin before deflating a bit. She was going to ask why Melvin hasn't said hi in a while as he promised he would. She decided not to bother as things seemed to still be pretty complicated in his life. She followed him over and shrugged at him. "What exactly is this mission about?"

"Thank you Rodney. Good luck on the progress with your own research. Have a good night." He said sweetly and turned back to the matter at hand. Arguing and making a scene was not going to help his reputation at all at work, and he didn't need more funds deducted from his accounts. Right now he had work to do.
"Come right with me, Melody and I'll explain with everyone when we get suited up and go down. We need to take care of a issue under the island."
EVERYONE If you still want to join you may still join and assume your hunter had arrived. You can even still join at PHASE 1 as well. Just suit up and follow the group. Quote me if you need anything addressed. Everyone can assume Melvin had helped them if they needed help into their suits and has inspected all their suits for being airtight and in working order.
