Giulia tried to process what he meant by magic being here or there or everywhere. But Kaitartarsauce was weaker than Asterion (duh, Asterion was wonderful) and so he couldn't keep the pretty boy cow for long. But he couldn't... Do other .... ? So.... Thinking.... Thinking... Does not compute. Oh well, she was 6! "You should get a garden," she advised. "Ours is only a small garden it isn't like one of the boat and nickel gardens." She clung to the horn and giggled, peering down and kicking her teeny feet. "You are tall! Mama isn't this tall. I like being this tall." heights were great. She needed to do more things up in the air. "Bad things can be pretty," she said after a moment. "And good things can be ugly. That is why I am not supposed to look only at book covers to see if they are fun. I didn't think Harry Potter would be fun because the cover we have is leather and boring like some of the musty boring books mama likes to read. I guess badness is like that too. It looks pretty, or goodness looks bad."

"See I knew it, smart kid." He noted, reminding himself there was no way she could have felt the youma's skin crawling energy. "...Boat and Ni... Ohhhhhh." He had to replay that one in his head three or four times before he got that one. Met would have cracked a rib laughing. Maybe especially over the 'tall' bit. He was so used to being the short guy in the room he was kind of curious about this mother of hers. "I think that's how badness grows. It makes itself look like everything you wanted, so you invite it in. And then once it's there it's hard to get rid of, like a bad plant or something, and if it makes you loose faith in the good things on the chance they might be bad too... then it wins anyway." He flashed a grin at her. "But that's why we like helping out people like you, right? Learn more about Boat and Nickle gardens and feel tall. Who's your favorite Harry Potter character?"

Smart Kid, Kaitartarsauce said, and Giulia beamed happily. She knew she was clever, but his acknowledgement reinforced it. "Badness is naughty," Giulia told Kai with a sigh of disappointment. "All wriggly like a worm in an apple, and you can't eat it anymore because it's ruined everything." her cheek flopped to the top of his head, a soft sigh ruffling his hair. "I wish badness could just be polite, really. Like when Amelie asks me, "Giulia, why can't you just behave" and I try and be good. Behaving isn't all that hard." It was boring, but it was good, and Giulia liked being rewarded for goodness. "Helping people is good," she agreed, "Almost as good as Asterion." blue eyes went to the flaming bull, the fiery gentle giant. So pretty. So red. "I liked Draco. And Hagrid."

"Hagrid's a good guy. I like his attitude." Kairatos confirmed. He still wasn't sure why they hadn't maybe gotten the guy back in classes after he'd been cleared, but a fair number of choices by figures of authority in those books made him think he'd have taken the place apart brick by brick just to have something to throw at people. Draco he wasn't sure. He was kind of one of those characters who was more complicated than he came off, but he suspected he didn't -want- to like him. "Though I'd probably be the guy getting bitten by the book just for not knowing what I'm doing."

"Hagrid is great!" she chirped happily; "He does good things and is nice to people and makes sure all the monsters love him, like the dragons, and He's very nice to Harry." Giulia's sudden yawn startled her; she wasn't supposed to be sleepy! It wasn't that late, was it? She gripped onto Kaitartaroast's head and scowled down at the ground. "Bitten by what?" it was an important question. "There are lots of things that got bitten in the book."

"I'm going to assume the book. Generally when people tell me what to do around large animals I tend to listen." Well. Normal animals. He liked to think he could manage not to get bitten by the hypogryph, at least barring it not being a hypogryph shaped youma. "Sorry, making fun of my own skill sets... are we headed in the right direction?" He felt like this was kind of drifting south, and the only appeal he had was starting to wear thin, he wasn't sure if this was a result of not having the faintest memory of having been a child himself, or if he just lacked the personality for it now.

"But all animals are big to me," she told him mournfully; "If I listened to what some people said I wouldn't get to have all the love I get from the big squishy animals. Isn't it good to cuddle them?" What was a skill set? She opened her mouth to ask, then closed it again. Pursed her lips, considered. No- this might be something important. "What is a skill set and why would you make fun of it? It's not nice to make fun of things, Mr. Kaitarturstoats." Pointing ahead, she nodded. "Yes. We're staying in the house with the big wrap-around porch. It's a per-fect square." her legs kicked outward again, and one leg came back hard; the other, she managed to control more carefully as she patted him on the head. "I have made a- de-sea-shun." her announcement was grave.

"...Grown ups sometimes make jokes about the things they're not very good at, it's kind of a way of getting there before anyone else does. I dunno why it just helps sometimes." He offered, in an awkward sort of explanation. "What's the decision?" He decided not to get into her relative scale versus animals, deciding he'd rather not have to track down a rabbit or a squirrel for comparative purposes when he was sure Asterion would flicker out before then, and he was pretty sure she was going to be upset, and he wanted her to be home before then. Maybe he could just... jump off world for a bit after he dropped her off. Make a little flashy magic exit like his summon. ...Might improve the kids evening after not getting to pet the youma.

Giulia's sigh was soft and somewhat dramatic, and she let the silence grow as they made their way towards her home. Finally, she pulled her Kaitartarhorse to a halt with a gentle tap to the top of his head. "This is my driveway," she told him, pointing up the way. "I like Asterion." Giulia had already forgotten her decision, actually, but she knew she liked the bull; therefore, it made it a decision. Right? "Are you gonna make sure Asterion gets home safe, Kaita- Kai?"

"I'll even go check on him and make sure he's alright." He promised, which was true. He hadn't hopped to his wonder for a while anyway, and he felt he should. "I like Asterion too. I'm glad he's my partner." He added, in assurance, as he walked to her driveway. "You want me to walk you up or are you ok?" He asked, reaching out a bit to see if he could -feel- anything to tell him if she would be safe or not.

"I'll be fine to make it from here!" Giulia chirped- and then tried to take a dive off the man's shoulder. "I have to go home and write in my diary about Asterion and how cool he is. The bestest!" Not the knight who had actually put in the effort to stop her from getting eaten by a very hungry evil youma-kitty. The flaming bull. "Make sure Asterion gets home good and safe," Giulia repeated. "I am trusting you, okay?"

"Sure thing..." Kairatos still... wasn't entirely sure what to make of the little blond girl, but what were ya going to do about it. Kids were... kids... even the confusing ones who would make some wild stories to tell Lena about, though he wondered if it was just her personality or the relative abundance of youma in DC that made them harder to identify as 'huge horrible problem' instead of the equivalent of an particularly toothy pigeon. Oh well. He lifted her down, and gave her his best reasuring smile, which was maybe more for himself at keeping her from nose diving onto the pavement. "Stay safe kiddo." Time to get out of here though before her mom called the cops on him.
