The tiny pink egg had been fluttery, a wish to explore, travel, and surprisingly sweetness. Joscelin watch as the egg pitched forward, sliding on the sand and sent a dragon rolling out.

A young green, pale with patches of white, all lean limbs and long neck and tail and a bit clumsy. All tangled up legs. But still, hatched.

She couldn't have been happier when all the eggs showed some kind of movement or life. Moluli mumbled soft encouragement to each egg. They had to hatch and show their mother proud. She caught her breath as the pale pink egg shoved itself forward, rolling through the sand. That one was determined. The candidate smiled as the green showed her strength in shattering her egg. She restrained a laugh for the poor baby as she fell face forward into the sand from her egg. Strength yes, grace would come later.

Moluli eyed the long dragon. Hopefully she'd get her limbs sorted out quickly and get to impressing. Her gaze glanced toward her fellow candidates to see their reaction to the green.

F'liel, a green! Oh what a pretty shade she is... How lovely. She looks healthy. Vesunth crooned to her rider. She wanted to bugle in joy but didn't want to disturb the other dragons. Instead, she shuffled happily in place. I love her colors.

F'liel wanted to cheer as well but the mood of the Stands was still somewhat somber as Malsalth looked onward towards her children. Instead, he clenched his fist and sent his love to Vesunth. She is pretty with her pale colors. Though none are as lovely as you.

Vee wasn't surprised to see Daydream hatch first, she'd reckoned a toss up between it and Lightning. The baby dragon was... Well it was pretty awkward looking, all new babies were she guessed but somehow she'd imagined dragons hatching out with the poise they had as adults.

The important thing though was that the green looked healthy, and pretty cute with her pretty hide and too-big eyes. How does it feel to be out then? she wondered, though she didn't know if the shelled dragon would be able to hear her thoughts in what must be an ocean of them.

Regardless of what the audience thought about her entrance, on either the point of her hide or her lack of grace, Daydream was just happy to be there! The green tried to stand, without trying to untangle herself first. The attempt was successful, in a way, with Daydream managing to get her legs untangled and up underneath herself. Unfortunately her wing had other plans. The green was still on top of her wing as she straightened, and the limb promptly wrench her back down, the green flopping down onto her side with a startled peep.

Her face pressed against the sand Daydream was still for a fraction of a second, before she lifted her face and shoved her muzzle into the sand, burrowing into the warm. Oh, this was nice! The dragon rolled onto her back and began to wriggle back and forth, creating a groove in the hots sands. She stopped however when she caught sight of the candidates, it seeming as though this was the first time that Daydream had even noticed their presence. Oh! Hello! Upside-down as she was the young dragon let out a squawk of greeting. Her wriggling took up again and the green manage to get to her feet, wings in the right place this time. Daydream did not so much stand in front of the group of candidates as she did vibrate in front of them, excitably stepping from foot to foot, wings rustling, tail flicking. There was so many of them! Were they to play a game? Daydream showed excitement in every muscle of her body as her eyes swiftly darted from candidate to candidate.

Straightened up it was the first clear look at the green. She was small for her colour. Not concerningly so, but noticably at the smaller end of the green dragon spectrum. It was now even clearer that the dragon was all leg, thin, long legs with nobbly knees. Her neck and tail were equally long and thin, and her face seemed to complete the picture. The only thing that didn't fit were her wings. Oh, they were pointed alright, and narrow, but surprisingly short in comparison to the rest of her. Hopefully her wings would catch up to the rest of her as she grew.

Iskosian breathed a sigh of relief. The little green has made it out safe and she had managed to right herself. He was worried that she would step on her wing with such sharp claws. He remembered touching her egg and being happy, relaxed in her presence. She was restless but that wasn't a bad thing if she either grew out of it or had a steady rider. A tiny thing, Iskosian hoped that she would find her rider quickly.

Endalil resisted the urge to go "Awwwww" at the cuteness of this dragon. She was a precious little thing, her antics charming as she started to make her way over to the Candidates. He remembered F'liel saying Vesunth had made a beeline for him on the Sands. He had a feeling this little lady would dance and play, hoping to find a kindred spirit.

Cai's brows drew together. His studies on dragons had only focused on adults, and sick ones at that, but should a hatchling be that small and scrawny? She seemed disproportionate and yes some common sense said babies in general rarely looked like their adult counterparts... but there had to be limits. Cai tucked that note away in the back of his mind to write down later; especially if the rest of the clutch shared similar features. It was too late now to compare Malsalth's final clutch against any other sick queens... there were none left. If her sickness had had an affect on the hatchlings though the north's fate may come even sooner than Cai had anticipated.

Standing still and waiting was not Cai's strong suit. He shifted his weight, plucked at the clingy fabric of his robes and pinched his lips together, fidgeting almost as much as the overly excited hatchling in front of him. His eyes made quick circuits between her, her mother and the remaining eggs, mentally half present as he composed fragments of his next letter to the Hall in his head. His fingers drummed on his thighs with nothing else to occupy them.

Could she get any cuter?

The little green was in no hurry to impress, playing in the sand before finally realizing the candidates were there.

She started to look them over, wiggling with her tail twitching and moving from foot to foot. She was probably going to be a handful.

The fact that she was smaller didn't really concern Zee. She wouldn't be surprised if the whole clutch was.

S'aren looked over the stands, thoughtful. Hatching was all well and good but gossip and conversation was better. The bronze rider that was getting everyone in shape or trying to was no where to be about but she did spot another rider.

She looked down at herself, a well stained leather apron touched with oil, good leggings and a split skirt of black underneath it. Simple tunic with the sleeves rolled up high, and a vest of dark green. Not really dressed but hey, she had been working. S'aren shrugged and sauntered over to F'liel.

"Cute little green, don't you think?" She said and looked out at the sands and the playful dragonet. "Looks healthy, knobby but ehh, some babies are just all limbs."

Was she... yup. Joscelin had seen Quill do similar behavior when in Telgar during cold days and laundry warmed in front of the fire or when it started to truly warm. It was sort of cute actually.

The vibrating intense focus less so. She was excited, clumsy, and not truly aware of her size or claws or teeth. Not malicious, he knew that, but still potentially able to cause a injury.

Moluli smiled encouragement to the green who had no problems untangling most of her limbs. That was a good sign. The startled peep she gave however when her wing pulled her back down to the sands was darling. So cute!

The candidate chuckled softly as the green discovered the delights of the warm sands. Softly though she murmured, "it might be comfortable for you, but our feet are a little on the toasted side." Moluli shifted from foot to foot as the sands occasionally became too warm.

It was delightful to see the first dragon hatched wanted to play with everyone. If only they could. But they had to stand here and wait for the green to impress. Daydream looked full of energy and spunk for the moment, hunger had yet to catch up to her. Moluli was positive once it did, the little green would find her rider.

F'liel looked up at the other green rider who joined him. Moving over so that she would have space, he gave her a nod of greeting. She was not a rider that he recognized right away but respect given was respect earned. "She certainly is a happy little creature. Something we all need today. F'liel of green Vesunth. Transferred in from Ista. And who would you be?"

She mentioned the dragonet being all limbs. "True. In a runner beast, all limbs normally means a fast creature or one that will grow large even if they start small. It's been a while since I have been to see any of the races though."

She sat down, leaned back and crossed her legs, giving an easy going grin. "The little one is. Vesp is happy, but ehh, she happy when ever a green hatches." She nodded. "Mmh. S'aren. I'm from Igen. Vespeth is up there some where, probably watching the green to see if she draws blood. She's a bit vicious."

"Anyhow, we'll have to see how this little lady grows up. She got to impress first though." S'aren ran her hand through her hair, trying to neaten up the locks. "But glad to see them hatching, being five days late. It is a good sign... think everyone needed it."

Vee snorted amusement at the hatchling's upside-down antics and folded her arms over her chest as she sent her a feeling of encouragement; go on, if she was quick she could find her rider before her siblings hatched and muscled in! It looked like Daydream would be one of the smallest if not the smallest in the clutch so if she wanted to claim a bondmate without competition it'd be better if she moved sooner rather than later. That was what she'd wanted right? Find a rider, see the world? Vee shifted her feet on the sand and wondered silently if maybe Daydream was looking for her. It had liked her, she thought, or at least it had liked the images she'd shown it but it hadn't resonated with her like Lightning or Iridescent. Who knew what that meant though, probably not much because as Iridescent had said it was all down to the dragons' decision in the end.

As these thoughts ran through her mind Vee glanced up and down the semi-circle of candidates, did any of their faces betray anything? Eh, mostly they just looked like they were in various stages of 'aww'...

Did... did Daydream want to play? Vee grinned as the hatchling wriggled around and tried to send a feeling of encouragement; How about hide and seek? Her rider was hiding here somewhere in the row, she should find them!

As she shell cracked and spilled forth a small green D'lana leant forward in her chair with bated breath. Was it healthy? Would it stand?...

Oh.

A small smile tugged at her lips despite the grave circumstances as she watched the carefree green wriggle around on her back, she hoped that she would be able to keep that innocence and that all of them would see more like her shelled in turns to come. After a few moments and a friendly call to the candidates the hatchling was up on her feet and standing before the candidates, was she going to choose already? A speedy Impression would certainly be a good sign.
