Sam had hoped she'd not insulted the girl and from her reaction she was sure she hadn't. Her comment about Sam's enjoyment of hearing of her soul made her pause. She understood how the idea of something like the legendary basilisk might frighten people, thinking what other creatures might really exist. The girl's comment about her guardian made her even more concerned though her face showed focused attention.
"Parents, or guardians, I imagine might have doubts about their ability to protect their chargers from danger. After all your creation is rather mysterious but, in my opinion, amazing. Having such a legendary soul must add to it."The woman put her hand on Cordelia's shoulder, giving her a small smile.
"Come on, why don't you help me an Tau load up my babies. I want to make sure they are all comfortable for the ride back to the Zoo," the red head patted her and motioned to the glass tanks.
The large black man came over, his voice a sonorous baritone,
"Hey Boss, trailer is ready for them. Nice and cool." He smiled then looked to the floating female, his head cocking a bit.
"Sam, is this like the one you will get? A Raevan?"Sam nodded as she showed Cordelia who to secure the lids of the tanks, occasionally speaking to the animals inside as if to assure them they were going back home.
"Yes Tau, this is Cordelia. Cordelia this is Tau, my right hand man. Cordelia has a great basilisk as her soul." she introduced them.
The man nodded to her and gave her a large smile,
"Snake soul, a good and powerful soul," He hefted up the tank containing Tater, moving slowly so as not to agitate him,
"In my homeland, snakes are sacred animals of the gods. Bringer's of life giving rain, companion of the gods. It is nice to see one given voice and flesh."Sam smiled and winked at Cordelia,
"Around here, you'll find your soul is something admired and revered. As I said in my presentation, I do not fear snakes, I am cautious." From there she worked with Cordelia, showing her how they loaded the tanks into an air conditioned truck to ensure they stayed cool and calm for the trip so as not to stress them.
