...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

He embraced his daughter and as she winced from hugging him a bit tighter than normal he sighed knowing she'd likely bruise from that. Though a soft smile still lingered across his lips. How couldn't he be happy while in the presence of his own flesh and blood? "I will always have time to see you my little light." Surtr said softly. One of the myriad of nicknames he had given her during the years they spent together. Surtr loved Lily more than she could imagine and he was never shy about showing it.

As Lily mentioned Kami as a student and him having such fun Surtr tilted his head back and forth a bit to signal that what she was saying was "sort of" right. "It isn't much fun for me. Though I will always stoke the flames of another if it will help them succeed... as for that one I suppose we have a history though what is in the past shall remain where it belongs." He said his eyes looking upon her as his smile seemed to grow. "Look at how professional you look. Though I imagine your goofiness does it's best to defy such appearances. I noticed an it of a limp, shall I heal you?" Surtr asked his left hand raising and glowing a pale white as he finished his words. Doctor was one of their favorite games when Lily was young mostly because the rambunctious cluts constantly hurt herself and Surtr was forced to repair the damage.

His progeny mentioned dungeons, inquiring if Surtr would be looking into them and the Archmage chuckled at those words. "Sharp as ever my child. With the college elder doing such a wonderful job there is no need for me to remain here. I will be exploring as many as I can. There could be forgotten magic in some or forbidden spells that I will keep from falling into the wrong hands." He said obviously a bit excited by the notion. Surtr was now a days typically a man surrounded by a cloud of melancholy, though when around Lily he was always a bit brighter. She brought out his old self. The version of him that loved life and couldn't wait to see all the wonders of the world. A very rare talent indeed and one that the girl often exploited. Though Surtr couldn't fight it, she was the c***k in his armor the weak point in his resolve and how could a father resist the warming presence of his daughter?

My mind is a force to be feared!

Lillian smiled softly as she sensed her father was already showing his slight sigh from knowing she had intentionally dropped her barrier. She had to be genuine with her father when it came to hugs. There was no avoiding that little ritual she had vowed to keep regardless of her condition. "And I you my feather father." she said with a beaming smile before she shifted her weight a little and glanced to the exit Kami had left through. His indication led her to smirk a tad before putting her finger gently on her lip. A small shimmer around her body indicated a reinforcing of her barriers again.

"Oh please. You always have a bit of fun especially when it comes to teaching others. You can't deny that." she teased before noting his mention of the past. "Well maybe the past can stay whIle you look towards the future? Might be worth looking into." she posed before he commented on her professor getup. "Bah! The college doesn't approve of my baggy sweatshirts and lazy clothing so I had someone make up this deal for me. I borrowed some of the Phoenix plumage you gifted me forever ago for the collar." she said with glee as she ran a hand along the left feathers with a small hint of heat radiating off. Obviously enchanted to keep her warm in this cold weather.

"You'd be right on that bit though. I do end up causing a small chuckle for the students at least twice a day if not a small panick." she mentioned as she nodded with his indication on her leg. "If you'd visit more often it wouldn't surprise me to feel your presence on the grounds. Ended up with a sphere colliding with my knee." she mentioned as the warm healing began to set in. Another case of her father tending to her every need without so much as a few minutes passing.

When he responded on the mystery locations she tilted her head a little at the notion of secrets. "That's certainly good to know you can entrust it to them. Perhaps we can finally find the solution to this." she mentioned motoring to her leg before giving a warm smile and a content sigh. "If anyone can it's got to be you. Maybe I shall see about examining a lone tower or maze odd knowledge myself!" she beamed as her leg set and she slowly let her weight return to it, the shimmer of energy around her flickering to indicate for herself it was up and running. Before her father could reply Lillian was at it again. "So! Now that that's settled. Have you...been pursuing anything other than knowledge?" she asked with a sly grin as she tried to probe for gossip on whoever she could. Oh how her habits died a lower than her motivation. What a curse.[

The nature of the wild is not the nature of the beast

To which lengths would a lone shadow gaze in earnest at the Republic of Karst? Not of man, Not of Monstrosity, A woman of crisp honey dew dawning complexion stood at the foremost monument of the nation. The shape of her figure showed vigor, vehemence, and the essence of every virtue that encompassed this journey. Through the passing midnight hours and countless storms that threatened to drown this very creature of the dark from every embarking upon territories like this. And yet here she was slowly along the coast near the mountains with her level of voracity sated only a bit.

This scent....so much spice at such potent levels...They're here echoed the voice of the were panther. Shy of a couple miles traveling onto the settlement her eye caught a glance of; E'Vynaei scaled upon a mountain using mere leg stride with each step directing the force of the wind and air past her. Gravity meant truly nothing for those who really mastered the concept of aerodynamics and the geography of natural habitats. What was her purpose here? It really all begun with the most recent political climate and culture of the kingdom in which she came.

The name Xavier created this journey and perhaps it would be the very answer that lead her to a greater discovery. Not just about him; But about the Mages and how the werebeast fared with or against such a civilization. It was also at the same time that the man named "Surtr" from the festival also possessed the truth and perhaps the knowledge. He knew of the Queen, Xavier, the new revolution, all of it. The cocoa beauty beast reached the stairs of the College and without hesitation pushed open the doors. As expected, E'Vynaei's vision of a great hall of scholars in this grand archive did hold as many antiques as books.

The panther simply walked in casually despite any oddities that may occur from her presence alone. She wondered what the top of the college looked like and would head there in silence in such a steadfast grace of pace. E'Vynaei did detect the position of the two potent scents of mystical essence yet continued on without saying anything. Depending on the situation; She may be prone to finally compare the power of her hunger and see just how much appetite she possesses at the stage she's trained so far.

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

As she called him "feather father" it brought a smile to the mans lips, rushing across his face her words warmed him like the rising sun. He looked upon her with such love the one thing in this world he cared for lay right before him and he could not get enough of her. Surtr shrugged as she mentioned fun. "I do remember having a good bit of fun teaching you, though that one is a bit touchy so it has become a bit of a chore now." He said replying to her notion of having fun teaching. While true Surtr was able to still have some fun he was but a shadow of the man he was before the death of her moth. She mentioned the past teasing him and Surtr shook his head. "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift.... that is why it is called the present." Surtr said with a smirk implying that Lily was the gift he was referring to. He had no interest in digging up the past what lay dead would continue to lay dead as Surtr would not bother trying to rekindle something long dead.

He began healing Lilly as she started to tell him of her life. He merely listened allowing her to speak of her uniform, her students, teasing him a bit for not visiting very classic stuff for her to enlighten him on. Surtr enjoyed this he loved just hearing her voice while healing the girl it was reminiscent of her childhood coming inside with something broken and Surtr healing her while she regaled him of the tale. As he finished healing her she mentioned him solving her ailment and Exploring something of her own volition. He rose his gaze narrowing upon her. "As always I will try with every fiber of being to rid you of that curse.... As for exploring you will do no such thing, at least by yourself." Surtr said with conviction he would not budge on this subject. She would have to go with him or find someone Surtr approved of if she truly wished to pursue this route.

As she asked him of pursuing anything other than knowledge Surtr chuckled shaking his head. "An old man like me has no business..." His voice trailed off as his gaze shifted. He felt a flicker, like a shadow moving by it momentarily got his attention. The presence was familiar, forgotten but now that it was here it had come back. His head tilted to the side, what was happening? How could she be here? Surtr looking as saw her form. The dark panther moving by Surtr called out loud enough for her to hear. "I see the shadow... where is its form?" He said his voice echoing through the hall to E'vynaei's ear. No doubt she would recognize the voice. Though she seemed intent on something and Surtr wouldn't be surprised if his question went unanswered she was cold towards him during their first encounter and Surtr expected the same here.

My mind is a force to be feared!

Lillian smiled as she noticed her father was beginning to warm up like he always did when she was around. It was a fleeting time to see her father will excited and no longer a shell he'd become after saving her. Even if it was for a moment she still loved to see him smile so warm and talk so joyfully. His mention of teaching her and now moving into the girl from before she tapped her chin a few times. "Maybe you need to change up your form of teaching? You do tend to focus a bit too much on the subject at hand instead of the one learning. It took us weeks to realize I couldn't manifest flames remember?" she pointed out with a quizzical smile.

His little poem on yesterday and today and the present made her roll her eyes. "And you focus too much on books with fancy words instead of yourself. You should find yourself a present." she posed before watching him heal her leg. She glanced about a little with a peering gaze as a disturbance echoed through her senses. Not dangerous, at least not at this point, but sneaky. Like a thief in the night or a shadow behind your back. Before she could dedicate some form of location her father rose and gave her a look. His words had conviction but he made it clear she wouldn't be going alone. "Oh come now. I'm not some frail little gir-...ok maybe my point is a bit on the weak side but you know what I mean! I'm strong enough to handle a little adventure." she pointed out as she took her freshly healed leg to firmly press to the ground, a shockwave of force booking out to send snow and air rushing out from the two.

Her eyes flickered with power and a fire not too far from her mother's so long ago before Lillian suddenly glanced to the side again. "Hm...did someone just..?" she mumbled before Surtr called to the rogue entity. It was hidden but also in plain view? She wasn't even sure the glimmer of what seemed like a cocoa fleshed being simply stride by while also maintaining its cover. "My that certainly is impressive..is it a cloaking spell..?" Lillian asked before suddenly stepping away from her father, her form almost gliding along the ground as she made her way towards the hall she'd thought she'd felt the presence move by. No way she'd let someone saunter by without finding out how they did it so well!

The nature of the wild is not the nature of the beast

In stride of destination en route; E'Vynaei appaered to attract the attention of the very two she had hoped to avoid. But it was inevitable either way given the disturbance she created by the domain of her voracious presence passing by many things. His voice, the one called Surtr as she recalled, called out to her in hopes to unravel her identity and intent. Maybe he already knew. Maybe she would continue onto the ascending height of the hall towards the tower without a care...much like she was now.

Straightforward and simple were the words that kept the were panther on track. These scents gave her a bit of an intoxicating high that was not needed and proceeded to make a sudden great sprung leap upwards to the tower. Maybe her cover would be broken by the action; Then again she didn't show much concern about hostilities. Alas just as quickly as she came had the amber hues glare at the top with her body halting.

"Hmm...The Republic of Karst is a mystery indeed. Maybe I'll borrow someone or something, temporarily" she said glancing behind her and waiting for one of the two to approach her. Her tail swayed while waiting and she expected to be questioned about her purpose as well as her kingdom. How much she would talk? Just enough but she'd like to get to the point of her travel and eliminate any variables that may deter her original plans.

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

As she mentioned him changing his teaching he shook his head. "I am what I am..." He said softly. While it was true Surtr tended to fixate on certain things he was a very adaptable person. Sure it took them weeks to realize she couldn't manifest flames but that was only because they had tried every other neutral and natural discipline first. Surtr would have never guessed mind would have been what she started with and so while she had a point with how he taught her but Lily was an exception to the rule. In addition it didn't really matter because Surtr wasn't one to take on any more students anytime soon. "I have found myself a present." He said staring at her a teasing smile across her face. Per the norm she suggested he pursue a woman and per the norm he would combat it by saying she was all that he needed. Surtr had no need to experience such pain once again.

As she conceded she was weak Surtr chuckled softly nodding. "Sure you're strong, it still doesn't change the fact you aren't adventuring anytime soon. At least not by yourself." He said allowing the snow and air to rush over him coating his plumage and skin with its icy touch. Within a few moments it melted and evaporated away the archmage couldn't help but smile at his daughters confidence and tenacity. It was certainly commendable.

As she began to move off Surtr followed. He knew the foreigner, at least he thought he did. A forgotten face, a shadow of the past come to haunt him again. Surtr moved behind his progeny wings tucked against his back while he moved. Upon hearing those words and the amber eyes glance back their shimmer sending the memories back to the forefront of his mind. "Who do you intend to on borrowing?" He inquired watching as she stood waiting to discern her purpose. This one was a closed off, not unlike the archmage now. His face stoic and his posture relaxed but guarded. Surtr stood waiting and watching, studying her once again wondering why the shadow was so far from its master. It could only have come if ordered, so why now? Why was this silence broken? Surtrs mind reeled with questions and not an ounce of this slipped outward it was closed off waiting for the game to begin.

My mind is a force to be feared!

Lillian had ignored her father in the terms of his comment regarding the present and also her not being allowed to adventure alone. She had plenty of might and will to go and carve a name out for herself and the family name. And she always wanted to see the world like her father had told her of so many times before. But, life was simply existing in the school grounds as a professor now. Only this small hint of an outsider joining them had peaked an interest in her. Now she was set to learn about this individual and find out what they desired. She paused as she rounded the corner to look towards the panther woman. Lillian kept a gaze on her before her eyes suddenly darted in all sorts of directs while her head tilted down and then up a few times towards the woman.

With a sudden blink and shimmer in her eyes Lillian smile and bowed respectfully towards E'vynaei. While very little magic was able to be sensed it was merely Lillian memorizing the form and build of the woman to snatch away in her mental vault, the overhead nameplate blank for now as she classified her as 'Were - Panther?' "Hello miss. I apologize if we seemed too busy or if no one has managed to offer you some form of assistance." Lillian began, her usual helpful tone and smile showing that was reserved for those asking for help and newly arriving to Karst. As her father spoke and she hinted at borrowing something or someone Lillian tilted her head to the side in a somewhat quizzical manner.

"Are you looking for something specific? I myself or perhaps our Arch Mage could be of assistance." she mentioned looking back to Surtr as she noticed a small hint of familiarity in his glance and readiness of sorts. How odd. "Forgive my manners. Professor Lillian." she said with a soft giggle and yet another respectful bow to the woman. Lillian wanted to know everything about a being such as her! Oh how little she'd interacted with one of her kind especially one so sneaky and silent as this one. Information, data, mental books to be filled and filed! She could hardly wait if this woman would allow her the time to indulge some questions. For now, what did she desire to barrow if not whom?

The nature of the wild is not the nature of the beast

The arrival of the two high class mages caused the very fibers of muscle and nerve to stir with excitement. What better way to confront the subject than to make use of high representatives of the kingdom? E'Vynaei took in great detail of what Surtr had become at this stage in his life and oh did it tell much. Did he too, like Xavier, become the abomination of his own cursed magic? Perhaps the price paid was definitely worth the gain and surely she was more than impressed. The panther turned around fully as she tilted her head forward and blinked at him twice once more. "To greater heights or into the depths I wonder...Mage. Today I will unravel the mystery between your magic and our ferocity" she said as she eyed over to the female.

"Depends. I require knowledge on evolution of species based on the concept of magic. Anything covering the topics of mysticism and transformation...theories. Professor, how much are you able to tell me?" she said explaining the pursuit of her objective. The reason was confidential enough and they could've already established a fair idea on where this lead. The words Forbidden and Taboo had no such effect on the mind of the panther as she crossed her arms.

"Likewise...I am Eve of Darkmoon, Moonstalker Clan of Feline Tribe. Can I entrust you to assist me on this task, Professor, Mage?" she said referring to Lilian and Surtr. They had to know something. She would get to the truth one way or another.

...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...

As he daughter galavanted forward introducing herself and even giving Surtr an introduction he merely smirked while looking to her. Such exuberance, such energy radiated from his daughter. Pride would momentarily beam from the man as he stood next to her as an equal. He fought the urge to caress her cheek to nudge her playfully like her used to. Perhaps if it were anyone but Eve he would have. The were panther was direct, concise, and determined very a very dangerous concoction and one that had garnered Surtrs respect. After allowing his daughter to speak his lavender eyes devoid of pupils turned to the visitor and watched her intently. His gaze scrupulous and the softened demeanor that Lily brought out recessed back below as his attention returned to the game at hand.

She commented on his form perhaps even taking a jab at it, this brought a sly smirk to the mans face. Such wit, a rare delicacy indeed and something he relished, savoring those words of hers. Chosen with care and spoken without hesitation if she were not so devout in her loyalty Surtr would have likely attempted to bring her on long ago. The company of a good mind was something he lacked in everyday life "I often wonder myself...." He retorted without hesitation deciding to remain ambiguous as to what the current form was. "By all means begin your unraveling." He lifting his arm and turning up his palm moving it across his body as if to invite the were to try her luck. He doubted she'd be able to see through what lay before her. In almost fourteen thousand years of existence Surtr had escaped detection he would welcome another to try.

Unsurprisingly she revealed her purpose quite quickly, though in a clandestine way that only a seasoned mind could appreciate. She seemed focused on Lilly, perhaps believing she was an easier mark. Though as any protective father would Surtr wouldn't allow anything to befall her. Still a part of him wished to recuse himself from this interaction so that he could watch, and see his daughter fly on her own. Unfortunately his own curiosities prevented such a thing. "There are many ways those two things can intertwine." Surtr said lift both hands and slowly interlacing the fingers.

"A bit more information on the nature of this evolution would narrow down how much theory you would be subjected to...." Surtr said tilting his head slightly asking for more information without actually asking. Her introduction followed and Surtr heard enjoyed all those titles of hers. He hadn't hear the whole thing before merely hearing her as a shadow. Surtr did not much enjoy his own titles and would spare the two from hearing them though he would correct the feline at her last words. "Surtr is my name.... and I believe the two of us can be of assistance, My lady" He said giving E'vynaei a rather formal title testing the creature to see if she liked being shown such respect. During their brief encounter the shadow had refused to address Surtr by his name and it seemed now she insisted on picking up the tradition. If she wished to then Surtr would follow along. Glancing to his daughter a rather playful smile crept across his lips, he would normally attempt to keep her from such a thing but he could see the curiosity in her eyes. Surtr would not deprive her of the very thing that drove him, the apple did not fall far from the tree and Surtr didn't have the heart to deny her such fun. In any matter Lilly was a halfbreed and as such she directly fell into the category so it only made sense she be brought into this discussion.

His gaze would return to her and await her answer, if she wished to know everything then she'd be here for quite some time. Surtr surmised a subset was what she was really after and he had the mind to aid her. If her deprived the were he would be going against the very foundation of this kingdom something Surtr could not bring himself to do.

Feelings : Digging for information...

My mind is a force to be feared!

Lillian observed E'vynaei and her phrases when talking to her father, eyes flickering with excitement at the possibility of an old friend or acquaintance. Magic and the ferocity of the were kind? She felt all sorts of signals light up with glee as a grin came over her face. Information? Oh she was just the kind to help her in that department with all her knowledge available."Oh my that is quite the subject matter indeed! Hm...let me think..." she began before glancing to her father for an almost confirmation like signal.

A guest and one asking for information that was hardly a secret, oh this was something Lillian could do without any hindrance. With a few words from her father and the confirmation she grinned wider and inhaled slowly. Then she turned her body, stepping to the side of the two and further into the hallway before making her way slowly towards her office, pausing once she was beside E'vynaei. A sudden flash of purple and raw magic flickered across Lillian's pupils as she titled her head towards E'vynaei. Magic surged into Lillian, the vacuum like pulse almost like a wind as her eyes suddenly went wild and in all directions.

Searching all over her vault with the key words, she only took seconds before her mouth opened. "Transformation. Topic is widely disputed and heavily argued amongst many writers. Johnathan L. Maliway. Seven volumes. Section eighty-five level four. Covers the vast examination and overall argument the manifest core of magic in a being directly correlates to their ability to change their physical form. Widely praised on theories regarding the harnessing and implementing of magic based cores. Tests were controversial. Deemed unethical." she stated suddenly before her eyes raced all about again for a few moments.

"Mutation and acceleration. Deemed harmful if implemented. Zeryan C. Wertlan. One tomb describing their research. Shelf Zenta in category one-hundred fifty-two. Shows research of mutant cells found in all races. Tests proved to a degree most could be induced to evolve at a substantial rate. Tests turned dangerous when inhibited on dragon kin. Were strain was unable to assume humanoid form after repeated sessions although severe physical strength was achieved. Humans showed signs of degradation and failure. Vampires had no direct affect before funding was pulled besides heightened aggression. Elves almost seemed to ascend in their form before mental and mana barriers shattered. Subjects became unstable. Tests deemed inexcusable." she blurted as if she was on a recording before her eyes scanned again.

Pausing she cleared her throat once again. "Evolution obtained from intense and long lost magic. Author unknown. Predates most other records. Location...sealed. information points to the implementing of long lost arts not currently practiced to infuse humanoid like entities or vessels with intense power. Signs point to success. Repercussions unknown. Results point to a sub race. Possibly linked to the Fallen. Recent attempts have been met with severe punishment and exile. No known attempt have gone without the subject surviving for long." she stated before her eyes grew dim, her smile forming as she blinked a few times.

"If you require more information I would be willing to discuss further over some tea. Would you care for some?" she asked as her figure slowly glided along the ground almost an inch above as she went towards her office without another word.

He smiled softly seeing his daughter access that unparalleled mind of hers and run through all the possible matches for what this panther was looking for. It pleased him to see her vast knowledge finally being put to good use. He could tell she was enjoying herself loving the opportunity to work with a newcomer to explore an unknown was a rarity for his progeny. As she moved towards her office Surtr stopped walking looking between the two. He knew when he wasn't needed and he knew who this one served. If any harm came to his daughter he'd know just were to go to get his retribution.

"I'll leave you in the capable hands of my daughter...." He said softly turning before walking off. Just before he turned his eyes lingered on E'vynaei casting a gaze that clearly communicated what would happen should his daughter be harmed. The archmage soon disappeared down a corridor off to send to more pressing matters.
