It hadn't been a nervous tick, and how could it be, till after he'd gotten the piercings. That was when he'd taken to fiddling with them..well after they'd healed of course. Once they'd healed he had somehow taken to the habit without really noticing, till his mother and friends had pointed it out.
Yup, there was another flushing to his cheeks though less noticeable, thankfully, as he took the wireless controller. "Thanks." Smiling he nodded his head. "Yeah, sure. Someone comes to take our orders right...or do we need to write them down on the board?" Since he hadn't done that, though he could quickly do that while things started up.

Now that the game was set up, and the sound of the tv came on, Nischal was reminded that he did have to write up the order. With the same dry erase marker as before, he quickly marked up the menu and set it at the end of the table.
"Hehe, sorry about that. I think I was too excited to play games with you. I'm used to playing online, not with people beside me, though you can say the same, right?" After just a few moments, the server came back and took up the laminated menus and went away to put in their orders and bring their drinks. Having that taken care of, he settled back down at Ian's side, holding his controller in his hands but being sure not to press any buttons.
"Alright so... Should we start this in some sort of training mode? Do they maybe have something like that? Or maybe just start the two player campaign until the food comes, then we can break, eat something, and then try online? .... Maybe not online with other people if you want to win. I bet I'm pretty heavy to carry." Though the joking tone in his voice remained, he wasn't really flirting anymore. No, he truly wanted to learn the game, and wanted to do his best at it. Even if his aim couldn't hit the side of a barn.

"I can...I play on the computer more than consol and never with people." Though he'd met some of the people he played with. Those times though were with people he'd known for a long time and was on good terms with...at least in game. He hadn't spent much time, aside from maybe the one time meeting, with any of them in real life. Maybe it was something to change...maybe not.
"Two player would be best, I think. It can let us play in something a bit more interesting than a sort of training mode could offer." Shrugging he did what was needed to set them up for two player. "I'll go easy since I want to see your aim and just see how you do." If he just took the other out than he wouldn't learn - wouldn't progress...plus it would be boring and just...no fun.
"After food we can try something more...I'm sure team can carry if we play online." Some teams were good at carrying and he was hopeful they could get such a team, he'd just have to keep them from kicking the other or anything...if he was that bad - he hoped not.
"Alright, get ready."

"You don't really play with other people? You mean, physically there or online? Hehe, are you hiding a secret personality where you say all sorts of mean things to other players when they mess up? Oh no, I better make sure I behave." Of course, it was meant as a joke, and as such, Nischal gave a gentle and playful shoulder bump to the other as the game started up. He was more than a little worried about starting the game, since he really wasn't that good, but a part of him certainly didn't want to give up or embarrass himself in front of the other man.
A quick nod was given about the food and playing later with others, then they were in the game. Immediately, Nischal noticed he was a wild camera swinger, looking around in all directions to make sure he wasn't going to be surprised. Given the fact that they just started, the likelihood of that happening was very very low.
Still, he didn't want to risk it.
He paid very close attention to Ian, about how he moved and worked through the game and did his best to mimic it, even if his actions were a little more choppy than the more experienced player.
"I don't think I want to be carried. Always wanted to be the protector. Shame this game doesn't have the tank game style like some of the other Games I played."

"In person, physically. I play with people online...o-only me-met a few in real life." The dark haired male responded from where he sat, shifting in his seat next to the other. "Uhh-umm...a little bit - yes....but not that bad." he did rage a bit in games if players were that bad. He understood new players, who needed to learn, but actual bad players...he wasn't very forgiving.
Watching the other swing the camera about he shook his head and reached out to still the other a bit. "Slower, you aren't giving yourself time to take in things. You're moving the camera too fast. Things will show up." He said working to explain what the other should be looking for.
Listening to the other he nodded. "An mmo you mean? With dps, healers and tanks?" He asked looking at the other, wondering if that was what he meant - he assumed it was. "Every new player gets a bit of a carry, to allow for learning." His words still were stuttered over some as he spoke. He still toyed with his lip piercings and brushed the long bit of hair from his face.
"We could try an mmo later...or ummm...an-another time...if you want to uhhh...ever meet up again and play. I have a good gaming comp and a few mmo's downloaded."

"Ah, same here. Most of the people I play games with tend to be in different states, or even countries. I don't often meet people to play with online nearby. Hehe, and I trust you, Ian. But if I need a scolding, I'm tough and dish it out as you see fit." Nischal was certainly a quick learner, and he slowed himself down, taking each bit of advice given to heart. He was surprised to hear the lack of stammering at that point, and even the contact between them seemed to not really cause any flustered reactions. Good, that was wonderful! It meant that both maybe Ian was warming up to him, and that he was serious about the game, as was Nischal. He was a sweet and easy-going man, to be sure, but also didn't like to lose. Atleast in the beginning anyway. Soon enough they came back, as did the nervous fiddling with the piercings.
"Yup! Mostly Final Fantasy, but I have played others for a while. That's the one I always come back to, and I tend to be a tank, big shields and swords and what not. Every so often I do like to play the healer. I enjoy taking care of people, after all." Nischal swung his camera again and managed to shoot an enemy just in time, and he felt proud.
"I think I'd like that. I wouldn't mind bringing my rig over to your place, or helping you bring yours to mine and having a LAN party every now and then. We could order take out and just enjoy being near one another while putting the smack down on other players. I think I'd really like that, if you wouldn't mind dealing with me some more."

"Mmm, same here. I have played with some who are from here - I didn't find out till later..but it was ok - we met...it was good." It wasn't just the one he could remember, someone he'd played with for a good while before meeting. There had been others, especially when it came to the hacking community and not the gaming one, but the conversations were almost always a bit awkward and stilted, especially at the beginning.
"I play all different mmo's...I favor melee dps...I'm not good at healing and worse as a tank." At least with healing he didn't have to focus on tanking which he felt was just...boring in a way. You stood there and held the attention of whatever the group was fighting...it didn't seem as exciting really. Healing at least had excitement to it just like melee, which was why he liked playing such classes. He also didn't like being right up in a boss's face or anything...at least not as close as a tank was.
"We could do that..umm...just have to set up times...I could bring mine to your place...or you could bring to my place. I live in a friends basement...but they wouldn't mind." Though he'd also never brought anyone over much less brought someone down into his basement bedroom...to do anything. Why his mind decided to jump right into the gutter was beyond him...but hit did...just as he had to take two shots to kill a target that would have killed him - damn it.
Either way his cheeks were warming, as was the tips of his ears, as he sat there playing and trying to focus on the game and not being killed. "I have a custom built rig...so I can handle anything I might need to download...if you play anything I don't..."

"It's a shame how so many of our friends we make are so far away. But sometimes, when yourself close enough you can meet up with them. When I was traveling around the country I did happen to meet a few of my friends online. Some of them... Well, let's just say some friends are okay to have behind a computer screen but not in real life." He chuckled just a little bitterly at that but quickly let the sound leave his voice in favor of giving his attention back to Ian. There was no point in dwelling too hard on the past, not when potentially had his future with him right now.
He smiled a little wider at himself at such a mushy thought and looked to Ian again, finding his invitation rather surprising.
"You live in a friend's basement? Sounds cozy, I hope you get along well and they don't keep you down there all the time. Though I don't think you'd be a roommate that would be ever unwelcome. You're incredibly polite. And outstandingly adorable as well." Nischal just couldn't help himself to compliment the other again and leaned over to nudge him gently with his shoulder once more.
"I feel like my home is a little on the excessive side, given that I live alone, but I live in a three bedroom condo on Downtown DC.... It's not too far from here, actually..." Nischal's wealth was something he hadn't thought about until recently, when he came to realize that not everyone happened to be doing financially well in their lives. Maybe it was the naivety of being raised the way he was with parents who gave money instead of love that made him so blase about his wealth. Either way, he found himself shifting his gaze back towards the game as not not show that he was almost ashamed of his wealth.
"I think I would very much enjoy that, Ian. And even if we didn't want to play video games, I'd be content to have your company while we do separate things. Just hanging out with one another, as it were. And of course, If you have any games that you play and I don't, I'd be completely willing to find a way to play with you. "
Before he could say anything else, their food was brought to their table, and he paused the game, setting the controller out of the way so that he didn't get it all greasy while he dug in.
"I haven't tried most of this food before so I'm rather excited~ I hope you don't mind if I take a bit of yours. After you get the first bite, of course. "

"That is true...I can see that." He admitted with a nod of his head. He wasn't surprised by that. People did tend to act different behind a screen then when in person, he was a prime example. He tended to 'talk' more online and was more outgoing. He was certainly not either of those things in person - it just wasn't him. He could only imagine the differences in other peoples personalities between computer and real life. "I like having some close by....but some far away is good to - you get to learn about where they are from." And he liked to learn, even if he never did anything with what he learned. He enjoyed learning, it was why he tended to borrow books from his friends who were taking other things in college...and eventually return them.
"I do...it's good. Not just friend but his family live there. Xander and two sisters plus his adopted daughter." He enjoyed it, though there were odd moments where he got lonely or when Dessie hadn't been so...nice, that was when she'd first moved in. It was worth it though - he liked it.
Staring at the other as he was nudged, he shook his head. "I'm not adorable." He stated softly, a bit...shy and hesitant. Turning away he chipped in on the next part of the conversation. "I didn't grow up wealthy but not bad off. Xander and his family live a bit outside of the city....need to for the size of their home and property." Which he liked to get lost in, the backyard that was, so he could enjoy a joint on his own every now and again. There was no way he could get away with it in his room or any other part of the house...someone would smell it and kick his a** over it. He didn't need that, even though it wasn't be some yelling match or anything bad. It would be a scolding perhaps and them being upset or ashamed or something that would make him feel guilty...maybe a lecture also.
"I'm happy they took me in. It helped my mother feel better." Knowing her son had somewhere to live, and she could always talk to Xander about him since those two worked together. It had been a good move, better than a couch though he was grateful for that as well.
While thinking about it he wondered if he should just make a few updates to his computer...nothing too big but it would be helpful. As he considered the idea food arrived, breaking him from his train of thought. "Y-yeah...ok." Nodding his head he went to dig in and try his own food, before offering for the other to try a bite. "We'll have to see who goes to see who...but if no games then movies or something?" He had enough movies, or could ay hands on enough, that they wouldn't get bored.
The food was as he expected, from the menu, really good. he'd have to come back another time - it was worth it.

Nischal could feel a creeping sensation crawl up his back as Ian began to talk about his home life, how he lived with people who weren't family but was happy there. It made him think of back when he first left home after corrupting, of how alone and desolate everything felt. He very much felt unwanted, and almost tricked into his life because the support and love he so desperately sought out was suddenly gone. It was that, along with feeling like he lost the entire world to a young child's folly that made him want to escape in the first place.
Every word of Ian's thoughts about the family that wasn't quite family felt like a little sting on his mind, saying that he would never have something like that, and his smile faltered, then was gone as he pushed about the food on his plate.
It wasn't until Ian spoke again about the movies and seeing each other again that he smiled once more, trying to bury back those thoughts for another time. This was a date and he was here to have fun, not dwell on the past until he found himself back in that dark hole where his mind liked going every now and then.
"O-Oh! Yeah, sure... It doesn't have to be games. I think I'd be happy to spend any more time with you, doing anything." He paused, feeling like he had been caught in his temporary dark place in his mind and offered a sweeter smile.
"Sorry for my look. I suppose the speaking of friends and family had my heart aching for a moment. I don't really have much in the way of either of those things, since I just returned to DC after about two years. Everything's... Changed."

"This city is always changing it seems..." What with terrorists, though he knew what they really were, the city was always changing though it did always seem to remain dangerous. He wished that would change, for the better, but that seemed to be the big constant in this city. "You have me now - that's a...ummm start, right?" He offered up, nibbling on the tines of his fork.
"I'm sorry to have upset you...I didn't mean to." The words slipped past his lips, honest and stilted as was most of what he said tonight. Broken and stuttered as he wasn't good with people especially when it came to a date, no matter what kind it was. It was just how the green eyed male was. He was lucky he wasn't like this as a senshi...that wouldn't be good, though he really wasn't the best senshi either..not something he liked to think about really.
"The city is still dangerous as ever...not that i's umm comforting but it is one thing that's unchanged." Nope, never comforting unless you didn't care about something being negative or positive and change was the only issue you had.

Nischal honestly blushed when Ian told him that he had him. It was a warm, rosy color against his tanned skin, and it traveled up to his ears. He certainly hadn't expected such a bold statement to come from the other; if anything he had only expected an awkward 'sorry' and then a soft change of subject.
"You're fine, Ian, your words are very sweet, and I really do appreciate them. For all that's changed, you're right, atleast I can experience new things now, and some of them might be even pretty great, just like you are."His smile sort of grew into a more positive grin, and he leaned over close to the green eyed man, pressing a soft and innocent kiss to his cheek.
"Now... Let's stop dwelling on such sad things, hrm? Food will get cold if we lament too long, and I'm sure there are some people online that are just waiting to get their butts kicked by how awesome of a player you are."

"I'm not that great.." He answered shaking his head, his dark hair falling into his green eyes more than usual. "B-but yeah...you have me as a friend here for you...you aren't..ummm...alone in the city now. J-just I don't do a lot. I mean I ummmm go to music things sometimes...but I normally just stay home..." Stay home and game, chat with friends. And oh! that was new and unexpected, the others lips pressed to his cheek, and he felt his cheek redden in response. "Ummm..." Ohh...what to do? That thought passed through him even while his mind had decided on what it deemed a proper responce - and returned the gesture. His own lips pressed to the others cheek, rather quickly though. This was...new for him and different from anything he'd done before. It wasn't that he didn't have friends, he did have a social life but it was almost all online, with very little being in person. It was just that dating had never been a thing for him.
With the change in topic he latched onto it, rather quickly in fact. "Yeah, cold food isn't good." Especially not this food, it all looked and smelled too good to let it go to waste. So, with that in mind he dug right back into his meal. "Doubt it...and I'm not that good. You make me out to be better than I am." He was good but he felt like the other thought he was better than he was...though that could be just his own lack of self confidence?
"After this what was the ummm plan again?"

Now THAT was unexpected, and Nischal found himself momentarily stunned by the returned kiss. Given the kind of person Ian so far had turned out to be, he wouldn't have expected the man to return the kiss, and it vaguely made him wonder if Ian even really knew what had happened. It was a kiss in thanks, one didn't really kiss back because of that... Ah, but the subject had changed and he wasn't about to question the warm softness of the other's lips for now. Maybe later, but not now.
Instead, he too opted to dig into his meal, taking a happy bite out of one of his skewers and sampling everything that was there to share. Alot of food but for two growing young men, surely it wouldn't last very long.
"Well... Once we decide it's time to go, I figured we could stop for ice cream and just walk around the park for a little while. Just... Talk and get to know eachother. Of course, I'd like to know you got home safely before the night falls. I'm sure whatever was out stalking the night before I left has only become more and more dangerous as time passes. Would you mind if I walked you home?"

It wasn't just that Ian was a growing male, which he was, but he also did go out as a senshi often enough to need the calories at times. He tended however to eat a bit bird like at times...but as he didn't go out as often as he should he didn't show it. He was on the thin side though, always had been really. He was hungry though, he'd not eaten till now, so he didn't do his usual bird thing and pick at his food and not eat most of it. he was fine right now with polishing off his meal - which was the plan.
"Umm...it's outside the city but umm sure..." That was a questioned he hadn't expected but the reason for it was understandable and just a bit sweet...or maybe a lot.
"It's a distance. I was planning on using transportation...but umm...i guess you can still come to make sure." He said nodding his head quickly. He hoped the fact he lived in a very large home didn't scare the other away somehow, he rather enjoyed his company. But he had told the other it wasn't his home but he was rather living with friends...that he'd left home, had even lived on someone else's couch. So hopefully it wouldn't intimidate or anything.
And as he let his thoughts wander the piercings were poked and prodded at with the tip of his tongue, as usual.
