Ace shrugged casually and informed Catherine that she and Travis can be good friends. The haunt agreed without doubt, sugar was amazing. She didn't understand Ace's agony but at the same time felt loved when the man did that all for her. Her husband was the best, their marriage was absolutely the most wonderful thing.

She crooned and wrapped her arms around Ace, sadly it was a sensation. "Nice. You're improving." The man recovered grinned at Travis. Ace took a glance at the rest of the cakes. "I can't even look at them, I asked the lady at the counter to pick some of the best for me. Glad that you enjoy them." He subtly pushed the box towards Travis's side, he missed his spicy foods already.

However, the Sun trainee took another piece from it before he did that, one with bright orange. This time, he didn't say anything as he chewed the thing. His eyebrows knitted together again, the cake tasted less sweet than the chocolate one. It accompanied with sourness which gave a good balance Ace felt lucky. His partner could receive his sensations and feels just right, he didn't really need to speak out.

"How's your new life?" He suddenly asked, initated a conversation.

Travis grinned, and then continued to work on eating the chestnut cake. He was about to reach for another one when Ace asked him a question.

"Uh. Well. I suppose it's okay. I mean. That last mission in the Sahara was pretty wild. What was that thing in the sand? Those teeth? It was like a sci-fi film or something. Which I knew things would be like that, but I didn't realize they'd be so...BIG."

He looked at Ace.

"How long have you been here?"

"Ah, Sahara." Ace nodded. "I was there too, saved a girl." The stationed hunter made a serious face and mumbled "clone of -" when he took the girl and dismissed him. He chuckled at Travis's tone happily. "Jason said it's called a Titan, it was also my first time to see such an intriguing thing, like we're all action movie actors. Haha. It reminded me of the sandworm monster in old movie, which dwelled under shifting sands."

He changed his posture and shrugged. "Anyway, we're safe now. I've been here for quite a while, at least a year?" Ace wasn't certain about the exact time he spent on this island, he passed a christmas there, so it must be more than one year already.

"I think the Sahara desert is one of the dangerous locations for missions." Ace recalled his memory on the place that gave Jason some nightmares. "Last time, me and Kimberly, another trainee were led by a full hunter for reconnaissance there. Turned out it was a stronghold for the Famine Clan, we fought against one and got some injuries." It was very thrilling in his opinion, that experience didn't scare the trainee and made the Sun trainee craved more in the future.

Given Travis a glance, he asked. "I mean if we're still in our normal life," He made the quotation marks with his fingers, "how can we experience all of these?" It enriched his boring life, filled it with excitements and new things. He could feel his heart racing rapidly within and sense how it felt when Death was knocking your door outside.

He took another bite on his sour-sweet cake.

"It was like being in a movie," Travis was still coming to terms with it all. He'd seen a few things, but just small things. Nothing like that.

He nodded as Ace told him a year. Travis had been here a few months himself, but things had been quiet. He was about to say so when Ace told him the story of another mission. "Oh, really? Wow. That sounds really dangerous."

Travis tilted his head to the side. "Good point. We'd never see anything like this in the old days. It makes me wonder just how much we didn't know about our world." He frowned at the bite of cake in his hand. "I don't like that, how we were in the dark so long. I like knowing what's out there, even if it is really big...Titans under the sand."

He looked at Ace. "Do you think big things like that are common?"

"Normally not everything's that big." Ace mused as he rubbed his chin. "But some are powerful, like the horsemen are always a threat to us. They're merciless and hostile towards hunters. Except that, our duties are quite peaceful."

He took a peek at Travis's coat, but the symbol was somehow unable to be seen. "By the way, which division you're from? I'm from Sun."

"Yeah, for the most part things have been pretty boring. I keep having to go sit down in the pod room, or running things up and down the stairs at the infirmary."

Travis brushed some crumbs from his lap. "Oh, I'm Moon. What's it like being in Sun?"

"Training," Ace shurgged again without any negative feeling involved. "We're the frontline warriors, so we've to keep our physique at best condition. Through those exercises, we allow our bodies to remember how it should react in reflex against different situations."

The Sun subtly pulled up his sleeves to show his slim but firm muscles. "Cat isn't extremely heavy, I bet you know that weapon in owner's hand doesn't weigh much. In order to utilize her fluently, I have made not only little efforts." He winked.

Then he grinned, "How about Moon? I hear they're mainly supporters for frontline Sun hunters and usually specialize in healing?" He was quite a curious man actually.

"Oh," Travis was thoroughly impressed. It made sense that Sun would have a lot of training on the physical sort. "Still, looks like hard work," he said. Ace seemed to be brushing it off, but Travis was a little bit in awe.

"Yeah, we do some training, too. But mostly I've had to pull shifts in the infirmary and learn how to tie a bandage and stuff like that." It wasn't nearly as exciting as Sun training, Travis thought, but it was useful. "We also have to learn how to defend and stuff. Like with those barrier daggers."

He looked at Ace. "Have you worked with a Moon in the field?" He wanted to know what it was like.

"Hard indeed, but it's all for survival, so it's fair." Infirmary might not be an exciting place, but different people were suitable for different positions, he had no problem with that. Don't misunderstand the man, if life was interesting enough, there was no way he don't cherish his life. Ace was as shallow as that.

The Sun trainee gave an interested smile listening to Travis. "Sounds useful. With Moon's support, Sun can go further."

Ace made some musing sounds, "Um, you mean in mission? I have yet to find my Moon partner, I've encountered several cool hunters from the Moon division though." He explained. He hoped to find his but he guessed when the suitable time came, he would anyway. "During a civilian rescue mission, I was injured and a full Moon healed me, think his name's Harrison? Then, I met Jason - my friend, who's also a Moon. But he attacks as his defense?"

He continued to dig his memories for names to no avail. Sorry Travis, he wasn't that helpful.

Travis was nodding. "Survival," he agreed.

"I suppose it is useful. Interesting how they set us up to work in teams, some good thinking there." Travis was just talking, he really didn't know if it was better, but it sounded like it. "Support is useful."

"Oh! I've heard of them!" What he'd really done was read through the names of all the Moon hunters several times, making note of everyone's rank and such. "Very cool, very cool."

He shrugged. "Maybe one day I'll be able to help people out, too. Hey. Do you think we could go on a mission sometime? But not with Titans or anything. Just normal monsters."

"Sure, why not?" Ace replied swiftly. "There're always external missions for us to sign up like regular patrols near weak points, probing information about Halloween world via golems, or we can simply do division specific training in island together."

He loved to make new friends and did stuff with them. Besides sweet foods, he seldom rejected people. The sweet reminder from the Haunt was in contrast bad news for the tall man. He reluctantly picked up another cake, but quickly set it down. "By the way, tell me some mythical creatures or beasts near where you live?"

Starting another topic shall be a good way to delay his affliction.

Travis was feeling rather pleasant after his cookie snack and tasty cakes. He was going to wait a few moments before trying for more. But he would eat more, if Ace let him.

"Right." They could always sign up for more, couldn't they? Maybe he'd have to do that. He'd not tried the golem thing yet - it sounded very like a very odd thing to him. He was about to ask more details about golems when Ace asked another question of his own.

"Oh, uh." Travis scratched at his nose while he thought. "People used to talk about bigfoot living in the woods, but I don't know if that really counts. Does bigfoot count as a mythical creature?"

"Bigfoot - the bipedal ape-like creature?" Ace was not sure if his memory was telling him the right thing. He waved dismissively therefore. "Should be. You know, halloween creatures are resulted from human's fear of things." He gave Travis a glance to see if he followed well. "So literally anything that arises from human's imagination and become a source of fear. For instance, my partner is a doll haunt like the famous Annabelle."

The tall man moved his fingers in a spooky way, "Something like that."

"Yeah! That's the one." Travis had never put too much stock in the bigfoot claims. It was mostly old men with too much time on their hands who went about hunting for it. An odd hobby for sure. It was strange to think that bigfoot might actually be real. Ghosts and demons sure....but bigfoot?

Travis nodded as Ace continued to talk about Fear. "Yeah, that's what I've been told. Our own Fears make them." He paused. "A doll haunt? So...like a ghost that haunt's dolls?" He had never heard of any Annabelle, but he wasn't about to admit that flat out. "I do hear that a lot of people are afraid of dolls, so I guess that makes sense."

"Uh-huh, a ghost possessing a doll, not a lively doll. I think that belongs to another faction -" He paused then eyes widened. "There's chance from time to time you would visit a school in the Halloween world as a student, their classes are quite fun."

He chuckled, seemed to recall some pleasant moments. "I was a succubus last time, and the lecturer apparently had some misunderstandings of us, humans." It was a brand-new experience to have wings and tail naturally like your hands and foot. "If you're really interested in knowing more about them, don't miss the chance. You get some extra money too."
