"I don't think she ever mentioned you before, and I'm sure she would have, so you must be a newer ally of hers." He doubted Corvus would have left out knowing a handsome knight. If she had he would have to tsk at her for it. With the knight a few paces ahead of him (sad since he rather liked holding onto that arm) he could actually look at him properly. It was an interesting look and reminded him of the Negaverse but much less strict. He didn't have the same military precision that the Negaverse seemed to like in their agents.

"I could say the same thing about you, Sailor Arachne. Corvus has introduced me to a number of her friends lately, but yours wasn't a name that came up in conversation... Does that mean it's been some time since you've last see her?" He could only assume, especially when coupled with knowing that the senshi was unfamiliar with knights. Of course, with his own scrambled memories it wasn't as though he could say with full certainty how long knights had been around either. As he passed under a street lamp the light caught the metals on his chest, the stars and bars shining beneath the glow. He paused once more while under the light, letting the Senshi of Spiders catch up with him again.

"It has. I had business to attend to elsewhere ... and needed a bit of personal time away from all this," He waved a gloved hand vaguely at the city in general as he caught up with the knight. "so I haven't been around in a few years. I'm sure plenty's changed but some things never do." So far what he'd seen, and those he'd met, weren't all that different from what he remembered. He paused inside the circle of light, rather close to Mag Mell again, and reached out to run a finger over one of the stars on his chest. "What do we have here?"

"That would be a reminder of who I was before I became Mag Mell of Cosmos," he murmured as he brought his hand up to point at the bars first. "Five years of service," his hand drifted down to the two silver stars beneath the bars, "and the last rank I achieved was Captain." He explained the significance of the medals simply, voice low despite the tension in his body. There were a few ways that the senshi could react to this news; positively, if he knew about purification and believed that an officer could be redeemed... Or negatively, if all the Senshi of Spiders saw was a former Negaverse agent. "I don't remember anything about my time spent with them. I gave Corvus a few names and I asked her to hold on to my medals for me. They make one hell of a shiny target on my chest." He managed a wry grin.

Arachne raised a brow at that before a smirk overtook his features. "You were part of the Negaverse. So they can be purified." It was good to know that his idea that Mag Mell looked like one of them was based somewhere in the truth. It was good sometimes to be proven right. There were probably plenty who were beyond saving and he wouldn't go out of his way to bother any of them. But if some of those he'd met before could have been purified it might have made his life back then a bit more fun. His fingers trailed over the medals before he finally, slowly, took his hand back. "You just get more and more interesting."

"I can't say that I understand a lot of it-- Five years in the Negaverse and not quite one year of being a Knight under my belt. I'm still learning, but I've got good teachers." He held himself still as the senshi's gloved fingers brushed over his medals once more, wishing he could recall why the touch lingering on his chest seemed so familiar. A pained look furrowed his brow at the effort of trying to push past the barriers of lost memories too hard. He shook his head to brush it off, coming back with a soft laugh. "That's what it takes to make someone interesting to you, Arachne? A bad boy past?" It was easy to slip back into teasing as a defense mechanism; light and flirty was so much better than dark and brooding. "From what I understand, this is who I would have been if the Negaverse hadn't gotten me first-- This is who I was meant to be."

"Well a bad boy past certainly does help." He grinned. "People who've lived with a sliver spoon in their mouth rarely have any character to them. The best people are forged in fire." Given his new career and the various people he'd found himself associating with while in school that had become obvious to him. The people who fought for what they wanted were usually far better people than the ones who were handed it. "And don't worry about understanding it. I don't think any of us really understand it and anyone who does isn't sharing the information." He rolled his eyes slightly at the thought of the Royals and others who'd appeared. "Easier to find the right path on our own."

"Not always the case. I wouldn't have found this path at all if it hadn't been for Corvus and one of her companions." Left to his own devices he might have done something dumb or drastic, if not both. Now he had a chance to make up for all of that, though. He had a chance to be a better man and actually do some good. "So, to distract a little bit away from me... What brought you back to Destiny City and all of this?"

"That doesn't mean she really understand what's going on. And if she does and she's not sharing?" He doubted over the five years he'd been gone that she somehow figured it all out. "We're all just doing our best or whatever we can." He flicked the edge of Mag Mell's cloak off the knight's shoulder just to see if the underside shimmered the way it looked like it would. "What if I don't want to be distracted from you? You're a rather nice distraction." He smirked, meeting the other man's eyes again. "Chance and a feeling I should jump, to answer your question."

"Too much free time lately," he laughed, rolling his shoulders and flexing his arms to stretch. "You find yourself in a situation where you have to reset your life-- One half of you changes entirely and the other half has to disappear as a result? Let's just say that civilian life has involved a lot of time spent at the gym while recuperating." It had given him something to focus on and a way to build his strength back up after the incident at the night club. He needed to be able to prove that he had been worth redemption. "A feeling that you should jump? Back into the madness?" A soft smirk touched his lips as he looked to the senshi.

"You can't fly if you don't jump off the cliff. And despite all of it's mess it was home at one point." He'd stayed away because it stopped feeling like home but the other side of the country hadn't felt like home either. It was something he tried not to think about and pushed away the slightly haunted look on his face quickly enough. "Not everyone needs to go through some magical transformation to deserve to remake themselves." He did find the comment about the gym a bit distracting though, at least. "Weight lifting? Given all those muscles. How much can you bench?"

"Oh, no, I'm not one of those guys." The Knight laughed, bringing his hand up to brush fingers through his hair as an almost bashful gesture. "I used some of the machines at the gym to try and build a bit of strength back up-- Legs, shoulders, all that other fun stuff. Benching also implies that you have someone to spot you. Part of this 'new me' is also accepting that it's alright to spend some time on your own." He decided that they'd spent enough time standing still in the street light and offered his hand to the senshi again so they could continue their walk.

He smirked slightly as he hooked his arm around Mag Mell's again, running one gloved hand down along a muscled arm. "A bit of strength? I think you've managed a little more than that Mr Charming." Knowing he wasn't that into weights did ruin the chance at a perfect line but he was sure another opportunity would present itself at some point. He just had to be patient and wait for it to come along.

"You'd be surprised at how well personal fitness and machine training can be worked into a schedule when you're suffering from amnesia. It gave me something to focus on and look forward to when I was adjusting to things." When the senshi had taken his arm they began to walk forward, following the trail around the park once more. "One of the gyms in the city has a nice indoor pool too. It's been a little bit cold to want to think about going for a dip lately, but during the fall I made it a stopping point." Being more physical had kept him from lingering too long on the mental and dwelling on everything he couldn't remember.

"That the only sort of physical distraction you've been giving yourself?" He grinned as he looked at the Knight. He wasn't too worried about keeping an eye where he was walking since the park did keep the sidewalks in good repair. Plus if he tripped, god forbid, he had a nice handsome knight to catch him. There was always a good side to a tragedy if you looked hard enough. "I bet you look damn good after a swim."
