≎ 𝕭lake 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓜⓐⓖⓔ "That's...not what I meant," Blake murmured with a sigh while looking away. It was an absolute wipe out of anyone who'd been in the temple. The thought was horrid, but why it happened felt more pressing than what had happened. Rowan obviously wanted her to drop the conversation, but it wasn't so simple. She understood well enough when there was no way around a situation but to barrel through, and she knew he did too. After some point, it'd sounded like that wasn't necessary in this case. Holding her left arm with her right hand, Blake quickly glanced back over to Rowan as he looked down at the thing in the pit, telling her not to bother him and that he'd worry about himself. This coming from the same person that told me to think of him as furniture... Right... He was also the same person who distanced himself from his friends and family so they wouldn't be further troubled by his own death causing him greater pain in the long run. Yeah, he was totally going to worry about himself. Her thoughts were spiteful, but it wasn't as if she was going to mention any of this. He'd already told her to drop it. Going on would just cause problems.
Speaking of problems, the Knight was now going around destroying the chains of the bound creature in the hole. Sure, they people here were obviously keeping the thing against its will, but was it chained up for a reason? It didn't seem as though it had any ill-will, but would freeing it prove dangerous? Rowan seemed to trust it well-enough, letting the thing loose. Blake felt rather frozen as the creature rose up to look at the two of them. She wasn't entirely fearful of the thing, but the sheer size of the thing was enough to make anyone just a little anxious. Rowan's reflection moved to look at its hand, causing Blake to do the same. On it was a strange symbol that she had to step closer to get a better look. It took the magus a moment to remember exactly what it was, but it soon dawned on her that this was the mark of a bond between an advanced magical creature and another. Incredulous, she looked back up at the wyvern. Did it choose the Knight because he had saved him? As if further cementing her conclusion, Rowan spoke, saying what the creature wanted and taking her hand. The teleport itself was disorienting but on top of the wyvern?!
Blake staggered some before instinctively hooking her arm around Rowan's to keep from falling. There was plenty of room, to say the least, but it was still a living, moving creature. Things settled down after it'd escaped the temple, crashing and climbing through the ceiling. As if flew rather peacefully over the Sky Platform, Blake let go of Rowan before sitting. The view was beautiful, but riding on top of the world's largest lizard was going to take some getting used to... It was definitely nice up here. They could see most of the island they'd been travelling if not more. This would be a great way to spot new things and get a layout of the land. The sight of smoke caught the young woman's attention before they flew right over a campsite. As soon as she'd caught view of it, however, the thing was destroyed as it looked like the entire island was going through violent tremors. She blinked a couple times in shock, suddenly even more thankful for the strange meeting between her Knight and this wyvern. If these tremors were so strong to almost instantly take out a camp, what would it feel like on the ground below? Blake looked up at Rowan to see if he noticed what was going on down there, more accurately, to see how he was doing after the events in the temple. You can talk to me you know... you don't have to be grumpy and brooding all the time. It's not like you need to keep pushing me away. Mage, Knight, whatever, whoever, we're still friends, Rowan. At least I think so... If something's bothering you... He hadn't outright denied her questions back at the temple, either, just told not to bother him about anything. How was she supposed to do something like that?

Congratulations! Because you decided the free the creature, you set off a massive earthquake across the island. The abandoned camp that you spot from atop the wyvern is instantly destroyed by the shaking earth. Normally, you would have to roll to keep your balance or not be crushed by random trees and such. However, you can fly and thus you negate the earthquake rolls. You may proceed from atop the wyvern, but the earthquake will continue unless you roll a 10 or higher.

≎ 𝕭lake 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓜⓐⓖⓔ They were on the wyvern for a little while, and the quaking of the land below them had yet to cease. Blake had kept checking since it probably wasn't the best time to land. It was unfortunate since they should've been setting up camp soon. There was enough room to relax and chill out on this thing. A single scale was almost bigger than a person. It was probably inappropriate, though. Being on top of this thing was great and all, but it was difficult enough for the green-haired elf to keep her cool if they hit a turbulent gust of wind or the creature moved too erratically. Not that those things would happen often, but when they did, it felt as though Blake's heart would drop from her chest to her stomach while she silently prayed to not fall. No, any sort of relaxing could not be done on this thing, at least for her. How was Rowan doing? Her concern wasn't for his state on the wyvern but more for how he was fairing after what had gone on in the temple. He probably didn't want to talk about it, and she was hesitant about bringing it up. Blake reached out with her index finger and poked the back of his hand.
"Looks like you made a good friend," she stated with a small smile. "That's, if I remember correctly, the sign of a pact not too different from our own." Whenever their bond as a Knight and Mage was mentioned, the magus always felt a slight sensation: a feeling of being a part of something more than herself, a sense of wholeness. It was nice. "I think it's called a Pack Symbol- No, Pact Sigil. Highly magical creatures will usually make them with humanoids with which they seem to sympathize, though the actual reasoning is kinda vague and varies between creature to creature." As she spoke, Blake kept surveying the land below, looking for anything worth stopping. A little ways away, she could see a rather large encampment near a building not dissimilar than the one they'd just left. Outside in the camp, a rather large crowd of people were trying to get their bearings and deal with the quaking of the land. That all would've been fine and well if she hadn't had realized that all of the people were dragon-kin soldiers. Her eyes widened as she remembered Rowan's actions at the last temple, almost as soon as he'd seen the first dragon-kin. Immediately, she stood an moved to block the sight from the man's view. I'm not sure what happened back there, and I can't make any assumptions. However, now isn't the time for a repeat, especially when we're still recovering from that. He's not going to tell me anything, fine, I'll just have to keep him from situations where he might act on impulse. That way, we can at least look at this from a broad spectrum and not have to continue trying to figure it out while dealing with it. Besides, I don't think I could see him like that again today without losing my own self.
"Surprisingly, my dad knows more about that than my mom does. He's always had a bit of a soft spot for animals, though. Heheh...don't tell him about this. You'd instantly make him jealous! Dad's been trying to find a creature to make one with for years!" she laughed. Would...they even be able to see Alistair again? Back when Rowan had mentioned that apartments and jobs may be a little odd for how much they had at this point, the woman was kind of sad. Blake loved her job very much, so it wasn't as though it'd be something she'd be willing to drop right off. On the other hand, Cheyenne would probably make sure that the Council of Carmillion wouldn't allow her to serve as a funeral director in the kingdom, punishment for running off with her Knight. Even when they finished this, how would they get back to having some sort of regular life? She could easily drop the charges against him, not like it was Cheyenne's business anyway, but that would still give them issues before she could do such a thing. It's not like they could make it back into Lusia without notice. "When you said that it wanted to leave...that was probably the magic already at work. If I'm right, then you guys are going to be connected for quite some time." She didn't remember all the specifics, but her father had told her a thing or two about the bond before...along with warning her of his wrath if she ever made one first. Blake glanced over her shoulder to make sure that place was out of sight before moving back to her original spot, sitting next to Rowan.
"What...do you think we could do after this?" she asked, diverting the conversation to what was on her mind. "You know, assuming neither of us die." The comment was dry, but it was true that the possibility was there, at least it was for Blake. At this point, she had a feeling that he'd be able to stand against the one for which they were looking rather decently. The only thing that'd really slow him down was keeping her safe... "I don't really know what I'd wanna do, honestly. I'm still trying to think about moving forward. Mother, being spiteful, has made it difficult to go back home, and it'd be in our best interest to at least use the gold to find a place where you'd have a room instead of a couch. Heh, then again, you could just get your own place with your own everything if we have that much. I'm not gunna force you to live with me, especially when you have other options now." Would he still even want to be her Knight after this? What exactly was keeping him from ditching her for one of the dark fae that oh-so-eagerly approached him? They made her blood boil. It'd be eas enough to pick up work solely for Knight and Mage pairings, not that they'd need to, but at least for the sake of something to do. The blonde couldn't quite decide what was scarier: the battle they were looking for or the uncertainty of afterward. "A-anyway, think you could get this big guy to land somewhere? It looks like the quaking stopped, and it's about time for camp, don'tcha think? Are you hungry?"

Congratulations! From this high up, you can make out what appears to be yet another temple up ahead. This temple seems to be surrounded by campfires and dragonkin soldiers, having been turned into some sort of campsite by them. There is quite the number of soldiers here, plus who knows how many people inside of the temple. You can challenge this dungeon and be rewarded with yet another legendary creature of your choice. However, this will be incredibly difficult, as there are countless soldiers guarding the dungeon.

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. It's not because I don't want to, but because it's best if I don't." ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
Rowan was not listening too much to what Blake was telling him about the wyvern, although he did manage to catch a few words about him having forged a bond and the symbol being a Pact Sigil. So that was what happened? Rowan had been largely unaware of what exactly transpired on the spiritual level, only noticing that the creature and him could feel what each other were thinking. Maybe it had forged that pact for that very reason, to make sure that Rowan knew it did not mean him any harm. Whatever the case was, the two of them were bonded now, and Rowan now knew a bit about what that bonding process was. She seemed to want to keep him from seeing something, however, as she suddenly moved in front of him and blocked his view. The action was not met with much anger or resistance, simply a sigh as he wondered what sort of foolish reasoning drove her to block his line of sight. Her little bit of info on Alistair did not spark much interest from Rowan though, informing him that the old man had been wanting to make the same kind of pact for a while. "I guess that old man's pretty used to losing out on things that he really wants by now, huh?" He responded with a rather disinterested tone, showing that he did not care too much about what Alistair's desires were or what was happening with the old man.
When she asked him what they were going to do, Rowan felt it was obvious that they should set up camp. He was about to say something until the woman clarified a bit and started explaining that she was concerned about what they would do after they finished their mission. She simply rambled on and on about how they could use the gold to find a home where he had his own room, or he could find a place separate from her own. They could live in two different houses now that they were so rich. You're really good at making everything you're involved with awkward, aren't you? It's like watching a kicked puppy limp around wanting attention from someone... Are you even aware of what you sound like whenever you speak, pipsqueak? Rowan thought to himself, looking over towards Blake with a rather cold look in his eyes, examining the girl closely while he considered what to say to her. After a few moments, he simply sighed and looked forward once again. "If I wanted a separate house or a separate room, then I would ask for one myself, not be suggested that I could have one. If anyone looked at us, they would think I'd be the one to ruin things by constantly putting my foot in my mouth. They'd never suspect that you were the master at it." Rowan stated rather insultingly, yet not really giving her a straight answer about the living situation.
Blake then immediately jumped into yet another conversation, probably to try and change the subject to something a little less dreary. This time it really was about a campsite, and she was asking him if he could get the creature to land on the ground somewhere. While that might have been an option, it would probably cause more tremors and maybe start up the earthquake again. "I think it'd be best if I just teleported use to the ground. If this thing lands, it could cause another natural disaster, one way or another." He simply stated, sighing slightly as he grabbed Blake and teleported towards the ground. After a couple of teleports, the two of them finally reached the ground, the young man simply standing in the middle of a clearing while holding Blake's hand. He had figured that carrying her would have been a bit much, especially for teleportation. "And you can feed me if you want... but I'm not particularly hungry." He informed Blake as he gathered some wood from around the area and started a fire for the young woman. If he could do anything to help out at camp, it was to start the fire.

≎ 𝕭lake 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓜⓐⓖⓔ Blake had just narrowed her eyes at the first comment regarding her dad. She didn't want to know or ask what exactly the man had meant by his comment so decided to leave it as it was. When it came to him mentioning how awkward the half-elf was capable of being, however, that was a different story. She opened her mouth, thinking of an attempt at retaliation but came up empty handed. Unfortunately for her, it wasn't like he was wrong. Blake was the kind of person to hand out business cards for funeral services at a party. Needless to say, the young woman did not have a very high charisma. Great, the conversation had been weird enough in the first place, then Rowan had to go and point out just how awkward she'd been about it. If we have more money, I'm not letting you sleep on a couch every night! The man had a point, however, when he mentioned the wyvern landing on the island.
Now that she thought about it, it'd definitely cause some sort of reaction from the structure if not a violent one. At least there'd been a warning when it came to the teleport this time. Even so, when he'd taken her hand in his, Blake couldn't help but to picture the gesture as a lifeline before they teleported off the flying reptile. She took in a deep breath when the two of them made it onto the ground. He'd seemed to have perfect aim because they were both in a clearing perfect for camp. To avoid turning shades of any color, Blake pulled her own hand away as Rowan moved to begin the fire. Feed you? Geez, you're not a pet... "Eh, it's cool. I'm really not that hungry, either. I'm gunna make up some tea, though, if you're interested in that," she offered, creating a couple benches and the appropriate cookware to make the beverage. After everything had gotten set up and the tea was brewing, the magus pulled the spell scroll from her pocket and began studying it.
It seemed to use the bones of corpses to create traps to capture enemies. Even the scroll goes into the depths of the various uses and capabilities of the spell. It seemed pretty advanced. Blake had almost been so enveloped in the reading that the tea might have began burning, lucky enough to catch it in time. If Rowan had wanted some, then she'd pour him a cup as well before drinking her own and continue studying. It took about an hour, but she finally came to seemingly understand the magic. She'd been totally enveloped in learning this that she'd lost track of time. Figuring out a new spell was one of Blake's favorite things. Sometimes she'd bring up a new summon all on her own and others, her mother would show her one she already knew. Whether or not the case was the same for this one, at least the woman wasn't biting her head off the entire time. It was pretty cool to read about a new spell. The last time she had was when she'd altered her healing capabilities enough to resurrect Rowan. There wouldn't be enough time to try this one out, however. "Ah, sorry. I didn't realize how long it's been. We should head out, uhm... Did you wanna fly or walk?" she asked looking up at her Knight before standing and shoving the scroll back into her pocket. Sure, Blake was leading their party for the time being, but he was the one who had to make the effort to get them back to the wyvern. At least the ground had stopped shaking before they'd landed.

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. When Blake offered him some tea, Rowan merely shook his hand a little bit and walked quite a ways away from the campfire, jumping up onto a tree branch and keeping watch. I don't need anything like that. I'll just drink some of the water we brought with us. Rowan thought to himself, looking out across the field and making sure that no one was approaching their camp. Even if you're not hungry though... you should probably eat something. At least a little bit of fruit. Rowan thought to himself as his eyes glided over to the young elf woman. Taking out a canteen of water, the young man opened the container and took a large swig of the beverage within it. It's dangerous for you to be here to begin with... so why am I even letting you tag along with me? Even without my additional abilities, I could still probably beat that woman. Having you here is just risking way too much... and for something as simply as closure. And I'm not even sure you need something like that... like I do. You're... fine from what I can tell. Rowan thought to himself, staring at the girl as he began to contemplate the reason for why he had brought her along.
Even if she was intent on not letting him fight alone, it was not like she could have stopped him in the beginning. He was much faster than her and capable of escaping nearly any trap with his greaves. In short, there was absolutely no way she could have prevented him from doing this alone. Still, he had brought her along with him anyway, despite the dangers that the young woman would face. The reason you're here... is it really for your own benefit? Maybe... maybe I want you to be here... even though I'm not acting like I do. Maybe... I need you here... Is that what it is? Did I need you to be standing by me... so that I could find closure on my own? Couldn't I just do that myself without your help? Then... why am I doing this? Why am I bringing you with me all this way? Why am I letting you risk your life for something that you don't need to risk it for? Rowan thought to himself, searching for any kind of answer that he could think of. Was there an answer to any of these questions, though? If there was, then Rowan was completely incapable of finding any of them, and it was beginning to frustrate him slightly.
Rowan's thoughts were interrupted very suddenly by Blake's voice, the woman calling out to him from near the campfire. Turning to her, he heard the young woman's question about whether or not he wanted to fly or to walk with her as the continued exploring. "As fascinating as it would be to fly atop that creature, it's probably best to walk through the woods. After all, if we did find them, we'd be kind of obvious from atop that thing. I'd rather have the opportunity to fight them head on without scaring them off with something like that." Rowan explained, jumping down from the tree and walking over towards Blake. When he finally reached her, he continued to speak. "Now, keep the fire going. Even if we're not here, the fire might attract any enemies nearby and keep the from ambushing us. They'll think there's easy adventurers they can get." Rowan explained to Blake, wanting her to leave the fire alone as they made their way through the forests that surrounded the two of them. "Don't worry about setting the place on fire, there's very little chance of that happening." Rowan stated to her, beginning to walk off as he waved his human hand.

≎ 𝕭lake 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓜⓐⓖⓔ Walking they were, then. That was well enough. Blake felt significantly safer on the ground. It would've been much better had they'd been on the ground that wasn't floating several hundred feet off the actual surface of the world; however, this was at least better than being atop a wyvern above that. "Fair enough," the woman stated in response to her Knight's reasoning behind his decision. She was actually about to put out the fire when he'd told her not to. The thought of doing so at first made her uneasy, but Rowan had mentioned that it wouldn't be spreading to easily as to where the forest would catch flame. With that, Blake left it before catching up with the man, looking back and forth to survey the area. Being this high up in the clouds, this forest held much more moisture than the one that lay between Eldrin and Carmillion. Without too much dried or dead foliage, it was unlikely for a wildfire to spread a dangerous amount. That was, at least, as far as the elf could tell. "It's strange that a place like this even exists, isn't it? I mean, a floating piece of land this size could've, of course, been caused by magic, but I wonder how long it's been afloat. It's only an assumption, but it was probably long enough to do significant damage to the landscape below," she stated, mentioning the decrepit forest below the islands.
They'd continue like this for some time before stumbling upon...absolutely nothing. An hour after camp and no sign of anything. It's not as though Blake had been looking for an epic battle or massive treasure, but a little something wouldn't have done any harm, would it? There was no other choice but to continue onward for now. From what she could tell in this place, they were getting closer to the homeland of the dragon-kin, getting closer to finding the one who had killed her friend. It was nerve-wracking just to consider.

≎ 𝕭lake 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓜⓐⓖⓔ It's all going to be alright. There’s no need to worry. We’re going to be okay. Rowan’s strong enough to take that dragon woman at this point, isn’t he. Then again, she took out that entire platoon without breaking a sweat. It’s not as though I can appropriately gauge her true strength based on what I saw… Blake shuttered. No, everything will be just fine. I can’t think about this too much, otherwise- Otherwise her mind would soon enough settle on the carnage. The imagery was still a little too much. She couldn't possibly fathom actually going through it. The pain those soldiers must have went through, the pain she put him through for all those hours… That b***h had just toyed with him, enjoyed herself while- Blake took a deep breath and looked over at Rowan. That was right. There was a reason they were both up here on this floating continent. This was for the sake of moving forward, so that lingering on the past would no longer be necessary. The Mage looked her Knight up and down before smiling and continuing on through the forest. Yeah, there’s no need to worry, not about this. If this was going to help him, help the both of them, then Blake was more than happy to accompany Rowan. Something, however, did rightly worry her. The man’s actions back at the temple had been outside his usual way that he went about things. She felt like there was more to it than he was letting on, and it didn’t seem like he planned on opening up about it any time soon…
“Hey,” she’d started as the entered a clearing. A familiar sound of flapping cut her off, and Blake’s instinct was now to instantly look up to the sky. Normally, this would be an ideal spot to set up camp; however, at this particular time, it seemed to be an ideal spot for a green dragon to swoop in. The creature became a silhouette as it momentarily blocked out the sun before crashing before them. By it’s size, she gathered that it was an adult having spotted what it had initially thought would be easy prey. The woman readied herself to either help or move but was caught off-guard by some rustling to their left. A group of dragon-kin emerged into the clearing, probably coming to check out the member of their ancestor species that had landed nearby. They were walking into a rather strange sight as the green dragon sensed the Armament wielded by Rowan. Slowly, they seemed to realize who the enemy was, drawing their weapons and glaring at the two foreigners. As long as they weren’t Knights, Blake could probably take them rather easily. Maybe we could even get one of them to give us some information. A bark sounded off as the Astral Hounds were summoned and pounced on one of the dragon-kin, only barely beating a split arrow that lodged into another’s eye and chest. The half-elf lowered before an angled platform shot forth from the ground, sending her out of the way of an air-based breath attack from the dragon. “I can take these guys,” she said moving toward the group. The dragon seemed focused enough on Rowan, anyway, though Blake didn’t assume that it wouldn’t attack her for that reason. She was ready to create a defense if it moved against her. Not that she felt that she had to prove herself or even that Rowan wasn’t capable of taking them down. He’d made that clear back at the temple. There was, however, a slight tinge of worry that something similar may have happened in this case.
A few blue circles of light shined through the grass before several silver beams shot out of the ground, sending a couple of the advancing dragon-kin back into the dense woods, hitting them hard in the head and chest. One, however, was able to dodge two of the quick-moving beams, dashing toward the magus as he did so. “Your magic isn’t going to work on me,” he stated in a gruff voice, swinging a broadsword at the woman. The only thing it came into contact, however, was metal, Blake crafting a shield before blocking the blow. He was strong. The hit was powerful enough to almost send her off her feet, and she winced when the reverberations shot through her already sore arms. “Haven’t seen an elf in a long time.” This guy was too tough for her to be able to knock his attack away. It was hard enough just to stay on her feet. Luckily for her, one of the wolves circled back to attack the dragon-kin. Blake staggered backward with a bit of a relieved sigh.
“Half elf, actually…” she panted looking back at Rowan.
