Name:
Rune
Age:
20
Nameday:
3557.11.14
(Age Up: Oct 21)
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Heterosexual
Craft:
Beastcraft - Hunter
Rank:
Apprentice
Location:
High Reaches Weyr
WING: Burning Aces

Physical Description:
Rune is all lithe muscle, even only at 15. Every part of her seems tense at any given time, shoulders squared, head high. Gray eyes are upturned at the corners, and usually narrowed in the direction of whoever's stupid enough to talk to her. Blonde hair is almost white, standing out against skin that's dark from being outside, and hangs loose, shaggy about her shoulders. It's rare she bothers to tie it back, and when she does, it's often only one side of her head, tightly braided, leaving the rest sweeping loose on the other side. Usually, she can be seen in dark tones, or natural shades, not much one to stand out from the crowd.

Personality:
Rune is one of those people that has developed an inner circle after many years of not knowing who she could trust. Once you have made it past many layers of defenses, you will find a woman who will never let you down. The blonde is loyal to a fault, and once you've established trust, she will back you up through thick and thin. She doesn't waver, and in her mind, the people that do, that can be bought or paid off, are not worth their own salt. Loyalty, and an adherence to it, is completely tantamount to Rune. She loathes the idea of someone going against it. If you dare to harm someone she is tied to, you best hope you have protection.

Rune is terribly protective of those in her care, fierce and immediate. She will not let them be hurt, sooner more willing to take the damage herself than to let them bear any hurt. This includes emotionally. If she knows someone is uncomfortable or upset, she will often follow them until she manages to find some kind of peace or retribution on their behalf. No one will tease or torment those that Rune holds dear, lest they risk her own particular brand of wrath. Why let them think they can get away with it! It's not ok, after all. At the least ,when she confronts people, there's no doubts as to what she means.

The orphan is one of the most honest people you'll ever meet. She's never really had the ability to curb her tongue. No matter if it might hurt someone's feelings or not, she will always be straight about what she's thinking about, and tell you right off what her opinion is. Why bother lying, when people do enough of that as it is? She's even frank if she thinks something seems ridiculous or wrong, no matter if it can get her in trouble or not. Should it? To her mind there is nothing more important than to be upfront and honest, politics be damned. If you're not honest, you risk your own integrity.

This is what makes it a little hard to hold a grudge, but Rune has a nasty bug biting her on a rather frequent basis. She will make sure that someone that has crossed her, or the people near her, finds themselves paid back in full for whatever ill action befell the important ones. Be it simple pranks, or flat out sucker punching someone in the face, she has absolutely no shame in doing what must be done. Until she's sated this need, she's antsy, needing to stand up for the people that matter. Anything about her and her life is kept close to the belt, though.

Rune has a habit of keeping her own life and problems tight to her chest, unwilling to let others shoulder it. Anything about her, Rhys, or Olliah, you might as well be prying at a locked chest with your bare hands. There's no need to bare herself to everyone, and the thought of doing it sickens her. People who do are strange ,foreign. Long before her parents passed, there was some sort of pain in her chest, or that is what she calls it, that told her she wasn't good enough. She is bitter about her lot in life, born the wild child, and always feeling second best to her brother, Rhys. Most people usually get along with him better to her mind, and this can lead her to be sour, and irritable, about her situation. She feels like perhaps she's been shorted, given no chance, and it comes out in her attitude towards others.

Positive Trait List Loyal, Protective, Honest
Negative Trait List Vindictive, Secretive, Bitter

History:
Rune and her twin brother were born in a minor Hold just a short way outside of High Reaches itself. The hold was a small hub of activity, with crafters of different skill and ability coming together, sharing ideas and trading their wares. She and Rhys grew up running wild in the streets, enjoying everything their small life had to offer. She began to take to a rougher crowd when her brother began to find his own intrigue with boring Craft, finding herself drawn to an aggressive group of boys that were good at fighting. Fighting...and as it turned out, hunting. The activity kept her busy, and she was all too rhappy to dive in and become something more powerful.

It didn't take long for the girl to find a mentor, someone to teach her everything she wanted to know. The tips and tricks stuck like glue to the wild-child of the two. Rune didn't like the calm and quiet of the weyr. She preferred getting in to trouble, fighting fire with fire and devoting herself to knowing how to track, hunt, figure out how to clearly track any beast that ran on the land, and how to spot those that did not. She didn't get on well with the other hunters, too hard, too unwilling to work with others.

Her brother had to had to break up a lot of fights, getting himself scarred up and marked. It was a thrill for her, getting bruises and scars left and right, enjoying the marks that were put on her, despite her brother stepping in on and off. It wasn't until the first threadfall that things really became mad. No one had expected it. No one had thought anything like this could happen, and so when it did, they were wholly unprepared. In a tiny hold like theirs, homes were decimated, people killed...their mother and father, gone. Rune saw her parents die, watched what happened even as Rhys dragged her off, yanking her away until they were pulled on to dragon back. She remembers that day with terrifying clarity.

From there, she recalls High Reaches, the first few months a blur as she and Rhys recovered from the scoring that they got from running and hiding. She was furious, an angry child stuck in a place she didn't belong, and alone...until they met Olliah of Gold Fianth. Rune didn't trust the woman at all, a Goldrider whose dragon was just as welcoming as she was. No one was that trusting, that warm. No one took in kids like her and Rhys without ulterior motive. She was more sure than anything that it had to be some kind of trick, something wrong. In the turn that she and Rhys have spent at the Weyr, she's come to trust Olliah at least, only really calming herself if the woman is brought in to mediate the conflict. Elsewise, this girl is a known wild-child.

Other:
Rune is the twin sister to Rhys, and the more wild of the two.

Rhys brought her the sharding egg, and Rune never wanted her, but Nuisance? She had other ideas. The tiny Green flit decided that instead of the gentler twin, Rune belonged to her, and spends her days pilfering shiny things.

Name:
Saeveth
Age:
3 turns
Clutch:
Rhianth x Kronoseth
3574.11.20
Personality: Saevath is, without a doubt, the most sadistic dragon to have been hatched in a number of Turns. However, her sadism is largely harmless, as she simply has a malicious sense of humor. She does rather enjoy watching others struggle. Others except, perhaps, her chosen few darlings. Those she prizes she will hold up on a pedestal, adoring upon them with the fierce intractable loyalty that only Saevath possesses. Indeed, they can never truly do wrong in her eyes, and she will always make excuses for their poor behavior.

Clearly they were having an off day. Perhaps they needed something from her that she didn't provide. Maybe it was the weather. Whatever the reason those treasured they were never in the wrong. It would always be something else. In that way she is rather blind. However, if she is blind, she is also one of the most loyal greens one might hope to have on their side. There is no question in her mind that those she loves are good and wonderful. She would do anything for them.

On a personal level, Saevath possesses quite a sense of humor, and a creative flare. She's clever, with a truly keen mind that is rarely put to anything actually useful. Mostly it is used to turn particularly sharp insults... for Saevath finds that to be terribly amusing. Surely everyone agrees! Ah, but even if they don't that won't stop her from making biting, sarcastic remarks at their expense. How funny that they think it should!

Saevath is a cold little thing, capable of giving the cold shoulder for days. Her warm aspects are deeply, deeply hidden... reserved for her rider and for her dear, darling sisters and brothers, although not all of those. She has quite a bit of respect for Caderath, and will follow him in her own pursuit of power. Make no mistake, she is not here to mess around. She inherited her father's need to fight Thread, and will do so with nigh unmatched fervor. Mother will be treated with respect, as will grandmother, and she does secretly adore her father, even if she rarely sees him.

Positive Traits: Ambitious, Brilliant, Creative, Loyal
Negative Traits: Sadistic, Vindictive, Malevolent, Cold

Adult Size: 55'
Physical Attributes: A large green with eyes that usually dwell in the warm range of the color wheel. She is fiercely beautiful, in her way, although she seems unaware of her striking looks. Her wingspan is wider than average for a green.

Additional Notes: If anyone crosses or harms someone that she loves, Saevath will make note of them, will remember them, and then find a way to get back at them later. Her Flights are not likely to be physically violent, however she can and will cut her suitors to ribbons with her tongue alone. In truth, she might prefer the company of another green - and if one special particular green sister happened to look her way, well, she'd eat that up.

Why Me? Although Rune and Saevath has much in common, it is Rune's honesty that appeals so much to the fierce green. She can certainly count on Rune to have her back, as was demonstrated during the Hatching - unlike so many others, Rune did not lay blame on Saevath for protecting her sister, nor upon her dear sister for becoming distraught. She holds Rune in great respect, and shall always be sweet and good to her darling rider. Saevath, although fierce and vicious, can be a loyal, devoted dragon. They both need someone whom they can rely upon, and will now forever have that in one another. Additionally, Rune's close relationship with her brother mirrors in many ways Saevath's with her sister.

Name:
Rhys
Age:
20
Nameday:
3557.11.14
(Age Up: Oct 21)
Sex:
Male
Sexual Orientation:
Homosexual
Craft:
Harpercraft Archivist
Rank:
Apprentice
Location:
High Reaches

Physical Description:
Like his sister, Rhys is lithe muscle, though for very different reason. To her tan from working outdoors, he is pale and lovely. Gray eyes are always calm, smiling and bright to whoever approaches, white-blonde hair falling in to his face. While it's kept short on the sides, the top is long enough to touch his ears. He has slightly larger ears, but chisled and defined features, high cheekbones, and an enthusiastic, infectious smile. Full lips, and long lashes lend to a lovely young man, standing at 5'11" tall, who wears mostly pale brown or white.

Personality:
Rhys has always had a mind made for learning. He goes a mile a minute, wondering about what and where things would come from. He loves puzzles and questions, and, believe me, he asks a lot of them. Rhys isn't the sort to like secrets due to this, and will often try to seek out what is behind it. He's also one of the sweetest boys you will ever meet. He smiles warmly, and offers open insight to anyone who so much as tries to come his way. He likes people, and loves being around them, once you get past the initial anxiety.

He likes to help as well, intent on making sure that others are doing well, even if it means a bit of a detriment for him. He likes to think that it's normal, that others might do the same for him, even if that's not necessarily true. He also loves to read. Any kind of record, or note made about the history of Pern itself, or the weyrs, he will devour them with an intensity that some might find odd. He loves to study, knowing that the more he devotes himself to knowledge, the more chance he has to find himself a place in case something happens. Like what, he has no idea, but he's content to sit on the floor of his adopted mother's weyr and pour over records for hours on end.

Not all is soft and sweet with the boy. Like his sister, he has a bit of a temper that can be brought about rather easily if someone is daring enough to push him beyond his normal bounds. He does not get physically violent, but Rhys is well worded enough that he can come up with enough barbed insults and snaps at someone's character if he needs to. It's a rather short fuse, and one that he has to constantly battle against. He may be kind, and gentle with people, but getting him to open up is difficult, mostly because it is hard to get him to speak up.

Rhys is shy, often worried that his thoughts and ideas will not be well received by others. He can not quite bring himself to speak up or interject with others, due to the fact that they seem to already have bonds formed, and he...well. He often feels like the odd one out. The shyness can often lead to anxiety, the boy a bit flighty and fidgety if he has to attempt to be social with other people. He has had a panic attack or two when he gets bombarded, but so far, it seems to reserve itself to anxious tapping at his leg.

Positive Trait List Curious, Good-natured, Studious
Negative Trait List Short-tempered, Shy, Anxious

History:
Rhys and his twin sister were born in a minor Hold just a short way outside of High Reaches itself. The hold was a small hub of activity, with crafters of different skill and ability coming together, sharing ideas and trading their wares. He and Rune grew up running wild in the streets, enjoying everything their small life had to offer. He branched out from his twin sister when he was 6, taking to sitting around while a Harper man told stories to the little ones. Something about watching fingers drift over string, as he was regaled with the stories of Pern and her past excited the boy beyond measure.

It didn't take long for the boy to begin following around one of the Crafters, listening to how he plied his trade, learning small tips and tricks with a bright and curious mind. Rhys loved the thought that he might be able to help keep things in tact, keep records going, and keeping the archives...though he far more loved the lore and history of the large weyrs...but you took what you got. He and Rune spent their childhood learning and playing, capable young adults...and then hell began. It started with his sister getting in to more trouble.

He had to break up a lot of fights, getting himself scarred up and marked. It was a terrifying existence. It was for his twin, what else was a boy to do? It wasn't until the first threadfall that things really became mad. No one had expected it. No one had thought anything like this could happen, and so when it did, they were wholly unprepared. In a tiny hold like theirs, homes were decimated, people killed...their mother and father, gone. Rhys still isn't sure if they ran, of if they're dead. All he can remember about that time is the sound of a voice, a Rider, and he and his sister being swept up on to dragon back.

From there, he recalls High Reaches, the first few months a blur as he recovered from the scoring that came from hiding in the rubble. They were afraid, quiet and stuck being Weyrbrats...until they met Olliah of Gold Fianth. Something about her struck a chord with him, a Goldrider whose dragon was just as welcoming as she was. Rhys was wholly taken, and within weeks, was calling her 'aunt Olliah'. In the turn that he and Rune have spent at the Weyr, he's taken to helping in the records room, and helping with the archives with glee, taken with his foster mother and Hers, as well as the customs and policies at High Reaches.

Other:
Rhys is the twin brother to Rune, and the more stable of the two.

Name:
Aniela
Age:
30 Turns
Nameday:
3547.06.05
(Age Up May 25)
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Pansexual
Weyr:
High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank:
Wingrider for Trespassers Wing
Previous Rank/Craft:
Weavercraft - Dressmaker
Journeyman
Physical Description:
Aniela's tanned skin comes from her home, and from her many days in the sun. Even working as a dressmaker, she spends her time outdoors still. A lovely woman, one might think her better suited in other professions, but she is enamored of her own. An hourglass figure lends itself to draw the eye, though her height makes it more even. She is roughly 5'11" tall, with long legs, a mid-length torso, and long arms, ever graceful with every move she makes. Her hair is sunlightened to a dark blonde from its natural brown, and falls in elegant curls around her shoulders. She never lets it get longer than her shoulders though...too much trouble. Always decked out in simple jewelry, the stones are usually a pretty blue to set off her eyes.

Personality:
Once Aniela has begun a task, it's damn near impossible to take her off of it. She is hands on, preferring to always finish what she starts, both in work, and in her personal life. She can get a bit intense about it. Once a project has been picked up, it does not get put down until it is done to completion, and if she has her way, perfection. She's been like this since she was little, with her Craft only refining that habit. To people. her weyr, and her Craft, she's also wholly devoted. Every part of her, the good and the bad, will always be at the disposal of the people that she cares for. She will sooner wear herself out than say no, and this includes to the people that just want some of her time.

Aniela acts as though she was raised to money. She was not, put in to the creche when she was small, but nonetheless. The woman is the most well mannered person you could ever hope to meet, with a ready smile, and gentle hands. She is well spoken, with her words always crisp concise, and carefully chosen. One could swear that perhaps she was meant to be on the arm of a Lord Holder, but no....she chose where she currently stands. When it comes to men or women alike, she is quick to turn her eye to them. Her pretty words are often used to flirt and tease, asking for attention from anyone kind enough to give it to her. She enjoys soaking up attention, and loves even more to pay it to others, which can mean that she leads people on.

Her head sometimes gets carried away with grandiose intention. She often finds herself in the middle of her thoughts or intentions, the things that will lead her where she wants to go. She loves to drift in and out of her fantasies of designs and things that are and will come. In her creative nature, her things are strewn all over the place, papers, designs, fabric, all of it. She's not too terribly good at keeping things in order at all.

Positive Trait List Diligent, Devoted, Well-mannered
Negative Trait List Flirtatious, Daydreamer, Disorganized

History:
Born a weyrbrat, Aniela may have never known her parents, but she knew High Reaches. The girl was addicted to exploring, running wild with the other children, enjoying the untamed enthusiasm that comes with being a youth born to the creche. It was early on that she took to weavercraft, finding fascination in the way that the colors and fabrics were created, and it wasn't long before an 8 turn old girl began to learn the craft that she felt she was born to. It was a way to distract her from the daily doldrums that being a weyr-born child seemed to have. Her teacher, a wizened old woman, took her in and began her teaching.

Aniela stopped running wild after that, watching the others of her age from afar, and started plying her trade. Weavercraft became her life, learning how to create and design beautiful works of art that women and men alike could wear. Why not make something that people would love? By the time she got called to candidacy at 17, she had become a name that was known to others for the things she could create. After all, Aniela had an eye for fashion, and for how different colors and styles would suit a person. It surprised her to run in to a blue that seemed to believe her ready to be a Candidate, but when the option came, she jumped at it.

It was perhaps because someone she cared deeply for was a candidate. Aniela had feelings for one Dristan, and had been eyeing him since their time together as weyrbrats. Not that she would ever say it aloud, oh no. Not at all. That was too much. She watched, in awe, as many around her found their partners, spending the days she was not doing candidate chores working on her Craft. She was convinced she was not meant for a dragon, that the Blue that had searched her had made a terrible mistake.

She was getting so near aging out, that she had happily thrown herself in to what she believed mattered, so when she did a touching and felt something in a smaller egg connect with her in a way, it surprised her. Ah, but it was just an egg. That meant little. A tiny brown tumbling out of his shell was surely meant for a boy...and that was when a happy purr of a voice entered her head. My Aniela, why are you so shocked? Your Xaphrith was always right here for you, even if you do not think so. Silly girl. The shock of it brought her to her knees, and with her arms around his neck, she took a minute before coming off the sands.

Aniela and Xaphrith proved to be a fierce combination...when Xaphrith wasn't distracted a bit by the other boys in his weyrling classes. It helped for Aniela that her eyes were only on one person. The last two turns, she and Xaphrith have gotten to know each other, and are all grace and beauty in the air....even fighting thread. They're proud, sure, and ready to work for their weyr.

Other: Anything else you want to add?

DRAGON
Name:
Xaphrith
Age:
6 turns
Hatchday:
3571.02.15
Caracath x Worenth
20 Eggs
Color:
Brown
Size:
63'
Physical Description:
Lithe and small Xaphrith is an elegant brown, or so he likes to remind people. With his lovely mottled hide, his wings take up most of his size, large, for such a small figure. His tail is longer still, with his body lithe and shorter, and a small head. He likes to say that he was made for being admired, but the truth is that he is just a bit of a tinier Brown male, more suited to speed work than anything else.

Personality:
Oh His, now that Xaphrith is here, you have nothing to worry about. Xaphrith is a very protective brown, liking to lift his partner out of any sorrows they might fall in to. While he might not be the most dilligent dragon, he is certainly good for looking after those that can not look after themselves. They'll always be met by a sweet croon, and a gentle nose pressing to them in solidarity. His love is unconditional, and while sure, sometimes he would like other options, he will never push others in to something they do not want. Perhaps some might call it permissive, but Xaphrith just believes it is what others are due, no matter their color.

Xaphrith is also a large fan of the gentlemen. He knows that it is his duty to chase if there is a gold, and so will if His insists, but he is also content to believe that he might one day find a nice Bronze or Blue and settle down. Not that there is anything wrong with ladies, but if he is going to preen and compliment anyone, it's going to be another male dragon. Xaph can be a bit much in the way of his flirting, even going so far as crooning to some of his friends during a Flight or Wingwork. His rider will have to fight to keep his mind on his work, since poor Xaph is oh so distracted by the lovely flashes of other colors in the sky. How on Pern can he be expected to ignore such LOVELY examples of Dragon?

Name:
H'ral
Age:
56
Nameday:
3521.05.24
(Age Up: May 16)
Sex:
Male
Sexual Orientation:
Homosexual
Weyr:
Western Weyr
Rider Rank:
Wingleader - Bahrain Wing
Previous Rank/Craft:
Journeyman Healercraft
Physical Description:
Personality:
From the day of his birth, H'ral has always been a light-hearted sort of fellow. He loves being near and around his people, entertaining the notion that it's not so hard to make friends if you just try. He's always ready with a smile and a hand, even in the roughest of times, knowing well that something like that can change the course of someone's day. It's rare to see H'ral without a smile, unless he feels like something's gone a little out of place...but that's neither here nor there. He tends to be a bit of a joker, as well, often making light of things that most people might find a bit too much. He entertains himself, and he thinks, the masses.

H'ral is a father first and foremost, a man who's always going to look after the people that matter. If he were permitted, H'ral would probably take the entire weyr under wing, make sure they were taken care of. He has a drive to ensure that no one feels left behind, there with a steadying hand, and calm word. He is calm and kind, usually looking out for the people that are in his hand. Why would he do anything but? They're already fighting things that are rough, why make it much harder? He will always sit down and listen so that he knows what to do, who to take care of, and who to press down on. There is, after all, a difference between who you can coddle, and who you need to be more firm with.

H'ral tends towards speaking his mind, not the sort to ever hold back for the sake of rank or politeness. There's no curb to a tongue that tells the truth. He'll even tell the truth about himself. He's been known to say just what he thinks, regardless of who he looses his tongue on, that includes those he works with and under. True, he's doing it out of his own best interest, and that of those around him, that doesn't change the fact that he's aggressive and blunt. He also tends to prefer to stick to his schedule, and to the rules that have always been laid before him. There's a pattern, and following it is in everyone's best interest.

His tendency towards wanting the best for others can lead him to be overprotective. H'ral has a need to ensure that people are taken care of, and will go through whatever means necessary to ensure that this happens. He has been known to pull people out of the way of a punch, and take it himself, and has a bad habit of jumping in even where he's not wanted.

Positive Trait List Jovial, Kind, Fatherly
Negative Trait List Blunt, Rigid, Overprotective

History:
H'ral began life back in Benden, a young man who was raised by a Courtesan who knew well what her son was supposed to be. No matter what others thought, she taught him early to stand up for who he was, and who he believed himself to be. Being in Benden was nice, giving him a freedom to be himself, to learn how to grow and respond. He and both of his little sisters were happy, enjoyed the streets. The last thing any of the children expected were to be brought in to a Weyr's fold. Haral was the first searched, brought to Western by a bluerider whose dragon saw something in him that even the boy wasn't sure of. Something that wouldn't come for a long time.

From fourteen to nineteen, he fell in to the routine of weyr life. He became the sort who made friends easily, stood without upset when he didn't find his partner...It was well known that he liked looking out for his friends and even those that he didn't know in the Candidate group. As younger candidates came in, Haral would comfort them, stand with them, and try to help them laugh, help them see the levity for those that were scared or nervous. It was clear from the get-go that he liked people. It was while he was helping keep a mauled candidate calm that he heard the voice in his head at ninteen turns old. Sigurath, a rather grumpy young Bronze, had trundled over to him and instantly demanded his attentions, saying that while caring for others was all well and good, H'ral had HIM to take care of, and it wouldn't hurt to take care of himself either.

It was shocking to the man, knowing that with his condition, it had been unlikely to his mind that he would Impress a Bronze. In fact, he'd almost thought he might age out. Instead, he became a dedicated Bronzerider, knowing well that he could help people. Sure, he might have seemed a bit off, might have made jokes when he shouldn't have during the practices...but with Sigurath's serious and demanding nature, it helped to create a powerful team of two.

For many turns now, H'ral has been a wingrider, happy to serve however he's asked, a strong figure who took in new kids, and adults alike, trying to help them through. During a Goldflight in his 25th turn, a one-night stand resulted in him becoming pregnant. He bore his first child to term, the little girl that resulted from it one of his most precious creations. He left her with the Creche, but was a constant presence in her life, calling himself her father, not letting even her know the truth. Sigurath took to his Rider's children well, entertaining the girl when she came to stay in the weyr.

He blames himself, partially, that his daughter became a Rider, knowing well what kind of danger it could put her in if Thread came back. He may not like it, but she is a Bluerider, and a strong one. Of that he's proud, despite the fact that a female on a blue is a bit more odd, even if not at Western Weyr. Nonetheless, it matters little. He began to take his commitments more seriously after she became a rider, becoming a strong bronzerider that was very serious about both his training, and the people he cared for. Before Threadfall, many turns before, he had a second child, a boy, who he became over-protective of. His daughter would become the caretaker for the boy, when she could. H'ral took a bit of time off Wing Drills to recover from that pregnancy, this one taking a heavy toll on him.

The boy was eleven turns old when the thread fell, H'ral having thrown himself back in to his duties as a Bronzerider, Sigurath glad to be back in the skies. The two of them thrust themselves in to defending the others that fought, soaring high and taking out thread to defend the people of Western, to ensure the safety of the Queens, Children, and other Riders alike. Both of them took injuries in the thread, but it hardly mattered. The important thing was that this was what they had trained for.

Vimiath x Wincheth
23 Eggs
Color:
Bronze
Size:
86'
Physical Description:
A miiddling bronze, Sigurath is built for stamina in flight and making the turns and twists required of a Rider. His neck is the longer part of his body, with slightly more stout legs, and a broad barrel to his chest to support huge wings.
Personality:
Of the Rider and Dragon pair, Sigurath is the driven one. He is the one that seeks to stand at the top, and will put back in line any that cross him. The Bronze puts stock in his hide, and his position, and will stand tall against anything. He is fiercely loyal to His, his Wing, and his Weyr, sure that this is the best place for anyone to be. While he might be a bit over-zealous about it all, he is at least the sort to listen to the concerns of any that matter to him. While he might be aggressive and protective, he has a soft spot. The bronze is poetic, and were he human, he might well be a Harper. He adores females of all shapes and sizes, and wants nothing more than to spend time with each of them. He tends to get distracted by a pretty hide, though, which can cause His a bit of frustration.

Name:
Alora
Age:
30 Turns
Nameday:
3547.01.21
(Age Up: Jan 21)
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual
Weyr:
Other - Transient, bound only to the ship she calls the trade vessel Valeriya (named after her mother)
Rider Rank:
Fishercraft Journeyman - Captain
Previous Rank/Craft:
Wingrider - Western
Physical Description:
With skin weathered and tanned from the sun, and hair of a soft golden tone, Alora stands out ever so slightly in the crowd. Standing at a tall 5'11" in height, she is all lithe muscle from her days training in her original profession. She has many scars across her body, coming from brawls she once got in to. Her hair is long, but not terribly, only just brushing her shoulders, and her eyes are downturned ever so. Long lashes frame eyes of a hazel that almost look golden in the right light. Her lips are full, though the lower more than the upper, colored a deep rose against her olive skin.

Personality:
Alora is a woman who could be thrust in to the face of hell itself, and come out the other side calm and cool. She has no fear of the world around her, and is brave enough to do what must be done. She enjoys being pushed in to situations that test her mettle, and will happily do what she must to ensure that everyone else knows they are safe. After all, what is there, really to be afraid of? Death? Not for Alora. The girl tends to be the sort to pull the wool over people's eyes though. She has to lie to do her job, There is a certain skill to it, and she sees nothing wrong with saying what she must in order to get the job done. There is no moral issue to it, and she has an oft silver-tongue, used to make sure that she avoids trouble as best she can. Sure, it does't always work, but when you're a smuggler, you have to be able to smooth talk both the people whose haul you're taking, and the people that might try to catch you.

Alora likes to believe that it is hard to say no to her. She has a talent for knowing what a person likes, and using it to her advantage. After all, she already is aware that she looks to be something that most people would enjoy, so she is as beguiling as she can. It is constantly about finding a way to ensure that she's trusted and liked by most everyone that comes near her. She doesn't often allow herself to attach to anyone, or a place, however. Since her youth, she's been terribly distant from people as a whole, only ever finding fondness for her brother. It's not something she really thinks about too much, preferring only to focus on her transient wants and needs, rather than anyone else. Well, except for Rusilath of course.

The one thing that Alora is acutely aware of is what is practical, and what is not. She isn't one to fall in to what-ifs or flights of fancy. Becoming a ship captain of a 'trading vessel' means that she's consistently having to focus on her business first, rather than what she wishes would happen. The goldrider will take advantage of anything that presents itself, though, knowing that any business, no matter how sketchy, is better than no business at all. She is an opportunist and will disregards the feelings of others to snap up something that might provide her with a better situation.

Positive Trait List Fearless, Charming, Practical
Negative Trait List Deceptive, No Attachment, Opportunist

History:
Born to a middling class family in Nabol hold, Alora was the youngest daughter of a man who barely kept on his feet, and his Fishercrat trader wife who kept them afloat. The woman wasn't much around, leaving her with her elder brother and a man who drank too much and didn't really keep any spare marks lying around, spending it all on his own interests. When her mother was home, she taught Alora about the ins and outs of trading, about business, and about Fishercraft as a whole, through books brought back from her travels. With how often the woman was gone, however, it put the girl in the care of her brother more often than not.

He was a good teacher, caring deeply for his sister, and better versed in the art of survival than she was. The two took odd jobs, the girl learning quickly that either you looked out for yourself and your family, or nothing came to you. She did whatever she had to in order to make sure that she could eat that night. It was not easy, but honestly, as long as she had her brother, it didn't matter. The two of them had hit a rough patch when a Western Searchrider came to Nabol hold. She dragged him to see the beautiful Blue that was flying, and it so hapened that the two of them were taken along in short order. With nothing but him tying the girl to Nabol, she didn't even wait on the decision, ready to leave it all behind for the Weyr.

Being a candidate was easy. She did her chores, played nice with anyone she came across, and kept her head well below radar, standing clutch after clutch. It was the elder of the two that Impressed first, to a Brown that was something to be very proud of. She couldn't help but feel a twinge of happiness for him, but with him gone off to Weyrling training, Alora became withdrawn. No one in the Weyr was important enough for her to connect to, and what had once been interesting became something she hardly cared about at all. I was just a routine to keep her moving.

The last thing that she believes anyone expected was for Rusilath to hatch forth from his egg and pick the quieter, more unassuming girl, but when the brown did, her entire world changed. It was the only being she'd ever truly connected with, a creature that held her mind and heart as if it was her own. It suited her, as her Weyrling instructor would find out. Being a Rider was hard, and being stuck in one place even harder. Rusilath was as antsy as the woman he'd bonded to, and it didn't take long for it to show. He was distracted in his training, with Alora only really focused on making connections in the holds, and through to other weyrs, making nice with people and having a head for business.

As soon as Rusilath was of age, and the two graduated from Weyrling training, though, she began to show signs of leaving. She grew more and more restless, ther wingwork and routine feeling too much like a yoke around her neck. It was a tough decision, one that she and her Brown reached together, and without a word to anyone, even her brother, the two took wing in the dead of night. It was to a Fishercraft Craftmaster she went, to refine her skill as a trader. She needed to know how to learn that, how to be a captain, and never in her life had she been more grateful for her young Impression. From 18 Turns to 22 turns, she and Rusilath took as many courses as they needed, training exclusively in Tillek's crafthall until she was sure she was ready.

22 to 24, Alora was travelling, getting to know ships personally, learning trade routes, how they worked, and making more connections still. She learned the ways of both the above board and underhanded dealings alike, taking a particular interest in smuggling cargo with a legal cargo. It was at the end of one of these trade routes, at 24, that she found she and her life partner on a smaller, outlying island. That she found a ship for sale that was actually affordable. It took half a turn to fix, and another half turn to find a crew, but once the small trading vessel was ready, Alora and the crew of the Valeriya took to the seas in its own right.

It is the underhanded dealings that many will never know about. She knows well that riding a dragon and being a trader and smuggler is...an interesting position, knows the sway she could hold if she needed it. To this day, the deals that happen below the table have stayed below the table, and she always takes a legitimate cargo to disguise anything she smuggles.

Other:
Rusilath is named after a female pirate. Believed to have fought her brother Thrond for the thrones of both Denmark and Norway. Rusla was the daughter of a Viking king of Telemark called Rieg, and sister of Tesandus (Thrond), who was dispossessed of his throne by a Danish king named Omund. Rusla formed a Viking fleet to attack all Danish ships as revenge for the affront to her brother. Rusla was always accompanied by another woman (some sources cite her as sister) Stikla, who was her deputy in all raids. Stikla turned to piracy to avoid marriage, and her name is the origin of the Norwegian city Stiklestad. It's not known if she was fictional or not.

DRAGON
Name:
Rusilath
Age:
12 turns
(3565.02.18 Vimiath x Turoth)
Color:
Brown
Size:
83'
Physical Description:
A larger Brown, Rusilath is a beautiful creature made for lithe elegance and grace, with a long tail and long legs, to match great wings. His hide is pale brown. Across it is a lovely pattern of swirls and twists of deep brown that his Rider says looks like the turn of the current beneath the waves, which spreads across his back, and up his wings, creating a mask on his face. His ridges are of a darker tone as well.

Personality:
Rusilath is a rather energetic creature. From the moment he came out of his shell, he was made of happy bugles and silly antics. He's always all too happy to show off for anyone, dancing and twining on land and in the air. The male is devoted only to his, though, and any male or female he chooses to allow near his might be nothing more than a distraction or two. After all, Rusilath considers himself a fierce warrior in his own right, and isn't much one to be pandered to. His mind is sharp, that of a tactician, and he is content to lend His any plans that cross it when need be. The Brown honestly believes that he is the best chance both His and anyone that His works with has for survival.
Rusilath is a bit vain, however. He likes compliments, and hates a dirty hide, preferring to stay as clean as he can, so that no one can say any ill of him. After all, what good is he without appearance. Despite his energy, and his fierce nature, he can be a bit selfish, caring only for the needs and wants of he and his own. It makes so little sense to the Brown to think beyond the immediate demands that are made by the pair of them. He doesn't often like to reach beyond. He is also proud. Rusilath acts like a bronze, sure of what he deserves, willing to do whatever he must to get it.. There is no reason he should be treated like anything less, by anyone, and shouldn't be afforded the privilege that goes along with it all.

Name:
Iorunn
Age:
36
Nameday:
3541.11.22
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual
Weyr:
Other
Rider Rank:
Explorer/Mercenary
Previous Rank/Craft:
Fishercraft Journeyman - Deep Sea
Physical Description:
Iorunn is an intimidating figure to most that might see her...or at least, she likes to think so. While her build might be tall, it is still in the middling range in width, not to thick, nor to thin. However, every part of her is muscled, and scarred. Skin is pale, but sun-damaged, which she attests is from her explorations northwards. She stands at about 6'3", tall and toned. Scars litter her body, including a nasty score across the bridge of her nose from a wild creature she'd not been able to escape. Wild red hair curls and tangles about her shoulders, often braided in multiple plaited strands to keep it out of her way. Her eyes are a very pale gray, stark and often startling to those that might see them. Every part of who she is seems to aim for intimidation....is it working?

Personality:
Iorunn could be the sort you might want in a weyr. She is a woman who is driven, who once she finds herself set on a path, she does not waver, nor flinch, nor blink. She is the type of woman that is devoted to her path, and to her dragon. They are terribly important to her, and she has no interest in anything outside of that which she has tasked herself with. This can lead her to be terribly stubborn, a woman who does not budge against her own ideals. To be told to go against them can often cause aggression from Iorunn. She is terribly set in her ways, and has been since she struck out on her own. Her mentality about everything is that it is one way, and only one. Her will is one that can not be bent, nor can it be broken. She knows well that whatever she decides? Shall be as she decides it. It has been that way as long as she can remember. She has never been the sort to back down, or to shy away from any task.

Nonetheless, she prefers a life alone. She tends to keep to herself, not liking the company of others aside from perhaps a tiny handful that she would call her given family. People have never much been something that the woman thought she needed, since she grew up as a creche child. She was used to being on the fringe, a bit more feral than her friends, and this has carried in to her adulthood. Her mind is one that works in a rather linear nature, which has served her well as an explorer. Oft times, people from a Weyr, or people with an organized group, will find themselves side-eyed by Iorunn. She's not a fan of them, thinking them soft, and far too set in their ways. This is for any weyr, regardless of whether it's true or not. Her mind was made up long ago, that the metallic heirarchy, and the colorist mentality was an awful thing, and that weyrs are hardly the best place for anyone.

Positive Trait List Resolute, Strong-willed, Logical
Negative Trait List Stubborn, Isolated, Prejudiced

History:
Iorunn was born to two riders in Western weyr, raised in the Creche, and mostly left to fend for herself. She never much liked the other children, choosing instead to spend most of her time on her own. She never got along with the other children, preferring to spend time off on her own, and wander off to meet craftsmen. It was her love of the water that drew her to fishercraft, and she was taken to hone her skill at the actual Hall to learn. She spent all of her young years there, becoming proficient in basic craft, then furthering in to the deep sea. Something about going further out in to the ocean, deep and dangerous, about being able to go BEYOND the boundaries of the world she knew....it was attractive to her.

The girl left, following the draw of Nature and of Pern itself, getting lost in the frozen North, beyond where many would dare go. Falling unconscious in the middle of the snow was not the plan, nor was being kidnapped and taken to a village in the middle of nowhere. She was taken by a large Brownrider...one who (WIP)

Age:
14 turns
Hatchday:
3563.02.11
??? x ???
Weyrless Clutch - Wild Northern Gold
Color:
Blue
Size:
64'
Physical Description:
A massive blue with a dark hide, Hatith can be said to look like the color of the sky at night. With broad shoulders, and a thickly muscled build, he seems a brute, and is. Scarring flecks across his entire body, a mix between threadscore and wounds from what might assumed to be people or animals alike,
Personality:
Hatith is a brute, much like his size. This Blue will always try to be the most intimidating creature you've ever met, at least if he has his say. Ever since he was shelled, he's done his best to be the most intimidating creature ever to walk off the sands, so that he can stand against the weyr-born. He has a natural distaste for Bronzes and Golds, preferring to think himself king of the lot, and only seems to like flying if he's more than likely to win. He's proud, sure of himself, and never doubts...no matter what anyone says. In and of this, he is insecure. After all, he is only a Blue, and he's seen how that plays out in weyrs. It is why he chose Iorunn, with her Wanderlust. It means he will never be tied down, free to roam and not have to face the ideals of those who are still colorist, saying what he can and cannot do. He is driven, to work, to travel, and to protect His. No one can say that Hatith is anything but a devoted Blue when he comes down to it.

Name:
Brenva
Nameday:
3554.02.08
Age:
23
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual
Craft:
Courtesancraft - Dancer
Rank:
Candidate
Location:
High Reaches - Formerly Nabol
Physical Description:
Pale skinned with grey eyes, Brenva lacks her brother’s freckles and where his black hair is groomed immaculately, hers is wild and curls with a mind of its own. She could be described as being particularly lovely with fine proportions in her body, but there is a slight strangeness to her face that is hard to place one’s finger upon.

Personality:
Brenva has always been the sort to have a bleeding heart. Everyone she meets is like family, and she is going to want nothing more than the best for each and every one of them. Her heart goes out especially to the younger, wanting to take them under her wing and treat them with the love and care that she wants to receive. The problem is that often, she can expend herself trying to look after them. Brenva will often pour everything she has in to taking care of others, and this can leave her with nothing for herself. Often times, especially if it has to do with her own brother, she'll work herself sick.
The girl has never had the sort of fear that most people have, when confronting something that she finds the need to confront. However, she's never quite had the energy to step forwards.

Any time she needs to deal with something that is perceived as a problem, she will use information she has gathered, and spread it effectively. Sometimes it's something more physical than mental, but whatever it takes. Honestly, Brenva has no qualms using whatever she can to ensure an optimal outcome in her life. After growing up in Nabol, she learned well how to play the long game. After all, if you don't get clever, you're dead...or worse, and Brenva knows this all too well. Her mind is sharp and swift, and has always been like a steel trap, able to pick up as much information as she needs to. This cleverness and retention comes with the ability to pretend as though she's never heard it before in her life, none the wiser so she isn't a threat or a target.

One of the biggest problems plaguing Brenva is the fact that she's always been the sort to take what she sees at face value. No matter how big or how small, she believes that what she sees is what is occurring, and has a hard time accepting otherwise. She is quick to judge people based on what she sees of them as well, thinking that they are exactly how they are on the moment of meeting. Situations are not much different and people will have the hardest time getting past this particular defense of hers.

Positive Trait List Compassionate, Fearless, Clever
Negative Trait List Self-Sacrificing, Devious, Judgemental

History:
Brenva was born to a wonderful family, one with enough money to keep them aloft in the corrupt world of Nabol. Her eyes were filled with opulence, her life with love, and she was even given the chance to train as a Courtesan from a young age, having a passion for dancing, a little dreamer. It was a life made for her, and Brenva was delighted by it, even going so far as to live with the Journeyman who was training her. It was something wonderful...but as she moved around Nabol, she started to wonder. Coming home, she tried her best to turn a blind eye, and attempt to pretend as though she saw nothing. By the time she was 17, however, the sights she'd seen had become too much to bear.

The young woman did her best to sneak around, to do her best to right as many of the wrongs as she could. Stealing food, or money, and giving them to people in need, or even going so far as to give out of her own pocket. She cheated, lied, stole....did what she could to make sure that others were well in hand. The one problem was that there came to be eyes on her. Those eyes were studious, watching every move, and at some point, she was taken off the streets. They said she'd been caught stealing, and her punishment, for Brenva, was almost worse than death. She was sent to one of the brothels in Nabol, made to ply the eldest profession for her 'crimes'. It was strange to have gone from the top to somewhere so far below...It was terrifying. At first, she fought, but the more she lived there...the more she realized that she could get information by plying the people that came to see her. It was this that taught her how to use the long game, this that taught her patience, a calm that she'd never known before. She'd expected to be able to continue her cause, to keep going, to stop all of this...and then SHE came.

It was a brownrider, a woman, which was strange enough to the girl...but she was content with the idea when it got her out at age 20. The woman even came in to the brothel, the Brown nudging her and making sure that she was Searched. It was a breath of fresh air, dragging her out of the hellhole, and back in to the graces of her parents. All of a sudden, she was a glorious child again, and was able to go home and grab her things. In doing so, she decided to push her elder brother to come with her. He needed to see something better, something that wasn't Nabol. She continues to hope as a candidate that he will be able to see their home for its darkness, rather than for the light that they'd been blessed with.

Other: Nope!

Name: Skalmath
Age:
1 Turn
Clutch:
Zenobiath x Aresoth
30 Eggs :: 3576.01.09
Caroling Note Egg: A large sized egg.

Adult Size: 36'
Physical Attributes: Small but bunchy and hardy. Skalmath is a charming thing, but not especially striking. That is quite all right with her, however, as she finds her own self worth in other things. Her explorations have left her with a decided stamina for her small stature.

Inspiration: Icelandic

Personality: Within this young green exists a deep wellspring of curiosity. She is prone to getting herself into dicey situations while pursuing the answer to a niggling questions or trying to figure out some secret one of her wingmates is trying to keep. She is not afraid to delve deeper than anyone else might choose to, for although she is quite bright she also has a terrible tendency not to recognize when she is in over her head. After all, there will always be a way out of any given snare... right? Never mind that the world does not work that way. If confronted on her behavior, she will staunchly defend it. Is not curiosity the birth of new ideas? New tactics? Without that creativity, the Weyr would stagnate. Pern has not gotten to this fluorescence by remaining in place.

... Or so she might hope. She is an independent soul, inclined to striking out on her own in pursuit of the newest mystery, never quite pausing to think that it might be better if she were to take someone along for the ride with her. After all, who but Skalmath would think of the next great thing to do? Unafraid, and to her detriment, she'll boldly go where few would dare to follow, stubbornly insistent all the while that she knows best. Doesn't she, though? Know best? Determined to prove herself in a world that thinks her less than equal to the task, Skalmath has a spirit and verve that will take her places. Whether she ought to go those places is another question entirely.

She is good-natured, but frustrating. Convincing her to slow down long enough to let someone else catch up can be an exercise in futility, and not at all for the faint of heart. The job of bringing Skalmath to heel is one that will last a lifetime, and it is probably for the best that she has a rider who must spend their life in that very undertaking. Where others might fear Thread, she does not. If anything, she is fascinated by it, and would love nothing better than to examine it up close - although at least that she knows that she must not do. As a dragon of Pern, Skalmath has been hatched to fight Thread, and she knows her enemy when she sees it.

Positive Traits: Curious, intelligent, independent
Negative Traits: Spirited, fearless, stubborn

Additional Notes: It will be very difficult to pin Skalmath down. Along with being an explorer, she has the hearts of a warrior. Only her equal could truly stir her hearts, and it might take some time to find that beast. In the meantime, she will enjoy Threadfighting and Flights with equal fervor. She'll have a particularly long flame for her size and color.

Impression Effect: Those around Brenva will find themselves heeding her words a little more closely than they might otherwise have. Skalmath lends the young woman her indomitably spirit, and will grant her +10 stamina upon Impression.

Why Me? Dear Brenva, Skalmath sees you for the fierce QUEEN that you are, and means to be your one and only. She knows that Brenva was trapped in the darkness of Nabol, but never again need the dancer fear that she will be anything but a greenrider of High Reaches Weyr! They are home together, although Skalmath will want to spend time exploring all of Pern, they will never again have to return to Nabol as anything but the glorious Threadfighters that they are to become. Strength is not just found in the body, but also in the mind, and it is this strength that Skalmath reveres in Brenva, and returns in kind.

Name:
Eyriean
Age:
21
Nameday:
3556.04.01
Sex:
Female (Agender)
Sexual Orientation:
Grey-Asexual
Craft:
Tannercraft - Tack Craft
Rank:
Candidate
Location:
Bitra Hold --> High Reaches Weyr
Physical Description:
It's hard to say whether Eyriean is male or female, and they like it that way. With dark golden skin, and thick, curling black hair that's kept short on the sides, they stand out a bit among the crowd. 5'10" at 19, they seem to be lithe and lanky, with fair muscles that they'll quickly tell you is from their work. After all, Tanners are hard workers! One might compare their build to an archer, or a swimmer. With a soft, round face, and wide golden-brown eyes, Eyriean gives off an air of being nervous often, though that's hardly the case. Thick brows and long lashes, as well as slightly thinner lips seem to give the air of androgyny that the young Candidate tries to cling to.

Personality:
Eyriean is the type of person you might want on your team. They are level headed, above all else. This young Candidate takes pride in being able to be someone that can take what comes at them, no matter if they're just dealing with chores, or the stress of Threadfall. One way or another, they're most certainly going to find a way to handle it. Despite that trait, however, there is quite a bit of self-doubt hiding behind those golden eyes. Thanks to their upbringing in Bitra, Eyriean thinks that there's more than a small chance that everything they do could be wrong, Everything they do is scrutinized, and now that they're in a weyr, they're so much more conscious of it than they were back in their Hold. Faranth help them if they're confronted aggressively about a mistake, because they might be calm at face-value, but such things feed in to their doubt.

Honestly, despite that, Eyriean likes to socialize. They enjoy people, and like getting to know them. Maybe it's because they didn't feel safe talking to anyone back home, or it's the fact that people have such fascinating ways about them. Whichever it is, Eyri is happy to sit and talk with someone in any case, get to know them, and tell them whatever little Eyri is comfortable sharing with their own life. Life in Bitra has made them paranoid. While they're happy to learn, they don't doubt that everyone has a secondary agenda and might be out to get them. No one asks anything for free, and back home, it could mean they want almost ANYTHING from you. They're constantly paranoid, listening for alternate meaning in every word said, waiting for the weight to drop in any conversation.

The child is a creative solutions type, loving to find new answers to questions or puzzles. Everything in the world can be done about a dozen different ways, and why would Eyriean not want to find all of them? His mother and father were the types to demand creative thinking, and pushing boundaries. Even with their chores, the Candidate likes to try to find ways to do things that allows things to get done faster, better, and more efficiently. Why not? It makes life fun! However, that creativity can make Eyriean a bit manipulative. They like things done the way they want to try it, and will sometimes try to carry people along on their ride. They might be prone to offering some kind of incentive to listen to them, but completely honestly? Eyriean is just more interested in making sure other people like them, and like to listen to them. They tease and wheedle until things go JUST so.

Positive Trait List
Level-Headed, Social, Creative
Negative Trait List
Self-Doubting, Paranoid, Manipulative

History:
Born to a pair of Caravan riders, Eyriean was free for the first part of their life. They were allowed to explore, come to learn themselves, to understand. What they didn't expect was one bad game in a hold stopover to stop their lifestyle. At Five turns old, their father lost a game to someone in Bitra hold, and the family got stuck, with no option but to try and work off the debts. Honestly, Eyri took that opportunity to run free, finding someone in Bitra that was mostly trustworthy to teach them something that might actually help. Tannercraft.

Wild as they were, Tannercraft seemed something that could calm the wild child, who was willing to learn whatever the Journeyman had tto teach them. It helped them out, after all, meaning they could craft things that would do some good in this world, like take care of their family, and give riders their tack. That was terribly important, wasn't it? Honestly, Eyri spent her whole life doing it....until just this turn.

Threadfall last turn, and now threadfall this turn meant that they've been on high alert, nervous and watching. When a blue Dragon came from the sky in to Bitra, they were curious about what it could mean. That was when the blue rather decided that Eyri was suited to be a Candidate. Hoenstly, they're still not sure what to make of it all, but they went with them, and only as of the last few months has been at HR.

Name:
S'lene
Age:
21
Nameday:
3556.03.17
(Age Up Mar. 14)
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual, with Male leanings
Weyr:
High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank:
Wingrider - Harbingers
Previous Rank/Craft:
Journeyman Beastcraft (Tracker)
Physical Description:
S'lene is lovely, in a very frightening way. Cool grey eyes, short black hair that's done in chin-length style, and deep tan skin seems to set her apart. Her eyes especially can frighten people. They are always analytical, calculating and intense. She is tall, standing at about 5'10" of lithe muscle, dressed in darker tones that always seem to match her Brown's hide.

Personality:
S'lene is the sort one might want in a position to make decisions. With a quick mind, and a sure sense of what needs to be done, the girl is a master strategist. Perhaps it is her father's influence, or her own sense of creativity, but she always manages to create plans quickly, and without any kind of hesitation. Due to this, she tends to be bad with people. She prefers charts and studies, prefers learning patterns, to human interaction. Cool, and sometimes a bit too sharp, S'lene has many things, but no real desire to be a part of anything aside from the company of her beloved Croglinth. With others, she comes off as brusque or rude, not caring about what they think or feel, so long as it benefits the weyr in the long run. Why should the individual matter? At all? Ever? S'lene has never understood the desire to pay such attention to a person.

She is the type to always remain calm, her demeanor one that is almost unflappable. No matter the situation, or the stressors, she does not ever lose her head. She has managed to remain calm through many things that most people would find themselves freaking out. S'lene takes it in stride, and makes things work. The girl has never been able to handle people well though, preferring to stand on the EDGE of the crowd than to stand in the middle. To get too close to any situation emotionally is to allow yourself to be open to things she's not interested in entertaining, so why bother? So long as she can work with her Wing, and handle things, isn't that all that matters?

There is no lack of understanding of how the world works though. There is a measure of surety that she keeps about her like a mantle. She walks tall and always has an air about her that suggests that she knows better than anyone else in the world. It is confidence that propels her through the world, in both herself and her place in the weyr, despite being a female brownrider. This also can make her a little cocky. Not enough to show up her Wingleaders, but enough that she will use her free time to fly, to train, and to figure out new patterns. Sometimes she will mouth off, or say something to her Partner, and can often come off with a holier-than-thou attitude because she doesn't see most other people as worth her time.

Positive Trait List [
Strategic, Calm, Confident
Negative Trait List
Cold, Distant, Cocky

History:
Born to a Harper mother and a Rider father, one might've thought that young Saerialene would have gone with her mother. Instead, the woman left her with the Rider father, Al'ndru of Bronze Alucarth. The man was always busy while she was growing up, so she learned at an early age to fend for herself. Her preference was for the lovely Bronze that was his dragon anyways. By the time she was six, the girl already had a slight reputation. Quiet, unwilling to talk to anyone that wasn't her father, and far more disengaged that most children might be, there was some concern over Saerialene's development. There was only one thing to show that she might not be quite as stunted as one might think.

There came in her young age, a love for Beastcraft. She started working with one of the Trackers in the weyr, learning and following him quickly. It was why going in to candidacy at 12 was troubling, and almost a bit annoying. She preferred tracking, since it was far more sense than the drudge-work that she thought candidate tasks were. Nonetheless, she followed through with it, irritably, following around quietly. Fine, if they wanted her to do this, then she would...to get their eyes off her so that her free time could be spent as she pleased.

Through it all came time with her father, getting chances to watch how the Wings worked, how the drills came about, what to do in case of Thread, and so on, and so forth. It was nice, getting to spend any time with the man who was constantly busy, and when HE wasn't teaching her, she would sneak away to read records, and try to figure out everything she could. Doing so meant that she was able to learn strategy and patterns, for she wanted to, when she Impressed, to be able to be something MORE.

It was with surprise that, at age 16, she stood for yet another clutch and out came a lovely, raging brown. He tore through as many as he could, until his larger body collided with a woman, wings mantling around her. She was bleeding, his claws sank in to her, head bleeding as well, but the Brown made it clear, You belong to me. I am your Croglinth, and we are going to get food. Now. He was fierce, and though she was bleeding and weak, she still managed to get off the sands. While she might be in the care of a healer for a few weeks afterwards, Croglinth was first and most important in her life now. He was the demanding one, and while she never gave him EVERYTHING he wanted, the two quickly developed their dynamic.

Through their turns, S'lene and Croglinth would make a name for themselves. A female Brownrider in High Reaches was hard enough, but now being in a Wing, she had to deal with the color-bias, and with the people that might think differently of her. It hardly mattered. She was too good for them as it was. Her pride remained, her confidence too, and the brown's furious temper and the girl's coldness made them known, and oh she loves it. Let them be seen, let them be known. She has her own power and is not afraid to show it.

Name:
Croglinth
Age:
6 Turns
(Born 3571.06.01 - Fianth x Ruvath)
Color:
Brown
Size:
83'
Physical Description:
Large Croglinth is more than aware of the effect he can have on other dragons. He is all muscle, built for long flights and feats of power, He is a deep brown, copper and chocolate combining on his hide, that is always kept immaculate. Tail and Wings make up the largest parts of his length, with bright eyes usually somewhere between orange and red.

Personality:
Croglinth is a dragon to watch out for. Only a brown, perhaps, in hide only, but the male is forceful. He knows what his value is and will protect it with his life, and his honor. Honor is of the utmost importance, both his own, and S'lene's. He intends on making sure that they will rise as high as they can within the weyr, and while he understands that HR is very stringent about the place of a colored hide, he is certain that both he and His are meant for more. She has the mind of a warrior, a woman born to take to the skies and stand against thread, fand so he wants her to have the best. If he gets the chance, he will take her all the way to the top. Easily offended, he can get overly-aggressive during Flight, intent on ensuring that no one can stand against him if he gets the chance.

Name:
Myrgiol
Age:
46
Nameday:
3531.09.14
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual
Weyr:
Unaffiliated - Works with High Reaches
Rider Rank:
Journeyman Courtesan - Diplomat (Spymaster)
Previous Rank/Craft:
Wingrider - Trespassers

Physical Description:
Lovely little Myrgiol is a small thing, standing perhaps at only 5'3" in height. Her frame is small as well, though hourglass in shape, with an almost elfin type of muscle build. Her hair is bright, flaming red, with copper and gold tones in it, bouncing in soft, loose, natural waves. She keeps it cropped in a bob around her face, framing a heart-shape and sweet features that keep her looking younger than she is. Her eyes are an unnerving blue, pale, with a ring around the pupil of gold. Long lashes frame an almond shape, with brows dark and arched, constantly groomed. Her clothes are always in the latest fashion, while still being practical for a Rider.

Personality:
Myrgiol is the type of woman that you feel you can trust from the moment you walk in. She's the type that might well be able to charm the birds from the trees if you asked her to. Why? Because she knows how to handle people, how to talk to them and make them feel at home, and welcomed. The girl knows how to work with any type of person, and takes pleasure in it. However, she is the sort that doesn't speak much. Myrgiol is a listener above all else, comfortable to remain completely silent...even when she should be talking. She's never quite been able to speak up for herself, or use words to explain things when she feels threatened.

The girl has made many a connection though, reaching out to touch base through multiple different weyrs, and holds. She knows what people she talks to want to hear, and is willing to play the game in order to keep them happy. The happier a person, the more they're willing to tell you, which is what Myrgiol is most intent on. Information, after all, is valuable. She knows how to keep her tongue tied thought, quiet and shut off from the world. Myrgiol's secrets are her own and no matter who she works for, no one will ever know just how deep her life goes, or just how much she knows. After all, it's all for the right price.

She's a giver though. Whatever hold or hall, whatever weyr, she ends up in will often feel the touch of Myrgiol's generosity. She will pass out marks to those who need it, and trade in information to those who want no coin. Myr has also been known to take an orphan or two under her wing, bringing them back to High Reaches or Western, and letting them either in to candidacy, or the creche, coming to check on them and bringing gifts. The one thing that you don't want, though, is to piss off the woman. She is vindictive, and more than happy to rip someone in two, and drop them over the side. She knows secrets, and doesn't fear using them to bring you down if you neglect to pay her what she's due, or if you DARE hurt her children.

Positive Trait List
Charming, Personable, Generous
Negative Trait List
Quiet, Secretive, Vindictive

History:
Born in Nabol, Myrgiol was a daughter of a diplomat and a holder with good money. The man was arrogant, the woman quiet, but under their hand, it was how the girl began to learn her life. Trading in secrets and lies was what her mother did, and her daughter took to it likea fish to water. She was delighted to learn how to twist and turn people, how to act like someone that she wasn't. Going in to the Courtesan hall and becoming a diplomat was all she ever wanted. Spymastery was something she was CHOSEN for by a woman who demanded the most out of her. It was hard, rough for her to keep up with at first, but soon enough? She fell in to it happily.

What she didn't expect was to be roped in to High Reaches Weyr. To be pulled in to service by a little Green who said that Myrgiol was hers. Aoshiith
almost was sent Between by her Rider's arrogance, though once the woman realized what was happening? She ran to the little one, and took her up in her arms. No way was she going to give up on her beloved. They existed together, happy to live as something more than they had been...but Myrgiol's old life called to her. She spent two years in a Wing, devoted, willing, but eventually decided to leave the weyr and pursue her Craft. After all, she reports only back to the Weyrwoman and those that control High Reaches....Why would they mind when she will give them all the information she ever wanted....she hopes.

Hatchday:

Caracath x Rizoth
Color:
Green
Size:

Physical Description:
Aoshiith seems to be the sort that's made for long flights. Though she's lithe and trim, her wings are long and strong. Her tail too is long, though it seems to make up less of her than neck and wings. She tends to prefer being in the air to walking....ever.

Personality:
Aoshiith is the sort of dragon to not like moving much at all. Even when in the air, this Green will always prefer gliding or using the currents. With how lovely she is, why should she have to work for anything in her life? Her Rider's drive may sometimes annoy her, though this doesn't seem difficult to do. Her temper is short, and easy to draw forwards when you ask a question, or try to make demands of her. Because of this, Aoshiith isn't fond of Metallic dragons. There's a particular loathing for Golds, and while she might ACT the part of a duitiful Green? She's far from it.

A'zal
Age:
37
Nameday:

(Age Up: Dec 01)
Sex:
Male
Sexual Orientation:
Homosexual
Weyr:
Wanderer - High Reaches affiliated
Rider Rank:
Journeyman Masssage Healercraft - Wingrider with Burning Aces
Previous Rank/Craft:
Healercraft Journeyman

Physical Description:
A'zal cuts a lovely, imposing figure when you see him. Were it not for gentle blue eyes, he might be mistaken for someone who's a bit more hard. Standing at 6'1" tall, with an archer's arms and runner's build, his deep olive skin seems to suit him well in the HR climate. He has his own fair share of scars criss-crossing his body, that he will tell you the story of if you only ask, and shoulder length black curls that seem to always be in tact, even after a long flight. His eyes stand out with his deeper skin and dark hair, a stunning ice blue, with soft, almost full lips. He would be effeminate, were it not for a squared jaw, and stubble that graces his cheeks, and a harsh scar that cuts from just below his nose, to his lower right jaw bone, through the mouth itself. He's got about 500 stories for where it came from....Up to you to figure out which one is true.

Personality:
To be honest, A'zal has never understood the stress other people are under. He's always found that if you go with the flow, and are flexible, things seem to be so much more simple. He's never seemed stressed about anything, always with a calm, sweet smile on his face, With this comes a natural tendency to flow back and forth between occurrences. His judgement about people and situations seem to never have rhyme or reason, just coming as A'zal feels fit. He's rather bad at explaining himself too, usually just laughing it off and playing as though nothing is wrong. How could he be wrong? It was simply for the best! So says A'zal.

He never has any doubts in himself, rather sure that whatever comes out of his mouth, whatever actions he takes? Are the right ones. After all, his confidence has served him well thus far, and how could he be anything but sure! Why let yourself be swept by doubt when you can know that you're well in hand, and settled in to your life? He's often a bit too open, the sort that you can read like an open book. He doesn't bother to mask anything, doesn't hide even the slightest hint of what he thinks or feels so that people can simply know. Hiding is a chore, and such a bother!

One thing you can be sure of is that when you need A'zal for anything, he'll be there. He's the sort that comes when called, or shows up to help with everything you could ask him to do. When he was raised, he was a duitiful candidate, and still holds to that reliability to this day. The man can be easy to fool though, willing and ready to believe the best of people. Lies aren't easy to come by, and so he's easily duped. He's quick to believe that anyone has the best intent at heart.

Positive Trait List
Flexible, Confident, Reliable
Negative Trait List
Arbitrary, Transparent, Gullible

History:
The young man was born in a caravan, free as a bird and wandering all over Pern. He enjoyed that life, exploring through every twist and turn of Pern, learning about the world around him, and how it worked. Honestly, he might never have come to High Reaches had it not been for a Flight. His father was a Brownrider, whose dragon was content to fly a Gold at High Reaches. Though he lost, they stuck around, and decided to do business with the weyr. It was through this that the boy came to be in the Stands when his beloved Maridith shelled, calling up to his A'zal with a plea. The boy was thrust in to weyr life, confused and lost. He was 21! He'd never been in a Weyr in his life!

It was through this that he met Gr'del, and became fascinated by the man. He honestly didn't expect to find his heart taken, but when at last Maridith was grown, he admitted his feelings, and begun a distanced life with the other. Yes, A'zal wasn't always at the weyr. He wandered a lot, but always came home. His heart was in those mountains, offering his attentions and his love to the man, before flying out again to work. He learned Healercraft, and went back to living like a man in a caravan. After all, this was how his life had always had been....And while he is in love, he still can not sit and stay.

With Gr'del having moved on to another, A'zal is spending more time travelling, though he always comes home to High Reaches looking for the love of his own life, and a love for his darling Mari.

Physical Description:
On the smaller size for a blue, Maridith's shifting hide is something he seems to take pleasure in. WIth a body built for speed and elegance, his pale, glittering patterned figure cuts a clear path in the sky, tail usually behind him like a banner. He has some minor scarring from the recent threadfall, but it seems not to trouble him.

Personality:
Ah, light as air is Maridith, or so will he tell you. He enjoys life, loving the feeling of the wind under his wings, and the sun on his hide. Maridith will do as he pleases, when he pleases, enjoying life to its fullest. After all, His, there is so much to experience! There is so much in the world, from females and males, to the delightful beasts he's allowed to devour. Honestly, the Blue sees no point in fretting about anything, preferring to be carefree and to enjoy his life. The only reason he does wingdrills, or flies against thread is because His insists that they must.

Name:
Z'mya (From Zemya)
Age:
19 Turns
Nameday:
3558.02.21
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Bisexual

Weyr:
Western Weyr
Rider Rank:
Wingrider - Star Flame
Previous Rank/Craft:
Kitchens Worker

Physical Description:
Lithe, but toned, Z'mya is a rather comely girl, if you ask her at least. With broad shoulders, and sharp brown eyes, she often seems to be studying everyone around her, curious to see what might come of simply hanging around. Her limbs are longer, with a shorter torso, and an hourglass figure that has come to look a bit more proportionate after three turns of Rider status. With high cheekbones and a broad nose, some might call her looks more elfin or androgynous. Her dark hair is long, and oft kept in a tight braid so that it can be kept out of the way. At 5'7", she likes to imagine she cuts an imposing figure.

Personality:
When you meet Z'mya, it's clear first and foremost that she's rather level-headed. She understands how the world works in the most realistic sense and deals with things as they are. Forget about subtext or possible nuances, Z'mya deals with things at face value. After all, the world is as it is. Why try to look thirty different ways for one thing that's right in front of you? This also leads to some matter of pessimism. When you take the world at face value, with realism and strategic manner, you often fail to see the hope, the good in things. Z'mya honestly expects she and her blue will die in threadfall pretty quickly, expects that she won't have a family, because she's a Rider. That's her reality. FOr some people, this might be too doom and gloom, but for her? It's her way of life. It can easily cost her friendships though.

Z'mya likes things in a particular way. Whether it is her records, her room, or her life, organization is paramount to the young Rider. Everything needs to be just so, and it helps that wing drills and Wing assignments tend to feed directly in to this need. The issue comes when she feels something is out of place. She gets hyper-focused and needs to make sure it's corrected. While she'll do her best never to say anything to the Wingleaders or Seconds, she'll often run an imperfection in a drill on her part over and over until she has it right, even in her off time. Her room will get a once over time and time again.

Fortunately, she's driven to work with people. Before candidacy, she thrived working with the kitchen staff, able to fit in any place in the kitchen without complaint. During Candidacy, she did her best to get on with everyone and followed instruction, and it has carried over to being a Rider. She enjoys the structure of working with a Wing, and the people, loving the idea of being a part of something bigger than herself. It does lead to a natural desire to be around people, though. One that often comes across as being clingy. When left alone to her own devices, Z'mya can become kind of lonely, dejected, and lethargic. When she feels close to someone, like she does with her elder brother, she devotes herself to doing whatever she can to make them happy...as long as it fits within her little niche of reality.

Positive Trait List
Pragmatic, Organized, Team-Oriented
Negative Trait List
Perfectionist, Pessimist, Clingy

History:
The youngest child of a Rider pair, Z'mya grew up idolizing her elder brother, Z'men. They clearly loved each other, and their children, so her upbringing was a happy one as a Creche child. Always cared for, always around others, always surrounded with things that made her happy. Before candidacy, Z'mya proved to have a passion for hard work. She was taken to Kitchens work instead of a Craft, because it was something necessary. IT made her feel needed. She proved to have an aptitude for such things, moving around as needed, helping the cooks, learning quickly. Being Searched was strange, but she'd never complain! After all, if her big brother was a Rider and she could be too? Z'mya would take it!

Candidacy was met with the same passion that her Kitchens work was. Chores, team exercises, homework, it was the structure and organization that the girl enjoyed. Standing was different, feeling those emotions and thoughts against her mind, watching the hatchlings on the sands. It was foreign, but interesting. It took several turns of Standing, but eventually, a tiny and shy voice reached out to her and called her His. Her small Hakilith, a frail Blue, wrapped her in love and assurance, deciding that she would be his forever...if she'd have him that was.

Since Impression, she's been devoted to studies and to teamwork as best she could. After all, she wants to be a benefit to the Weyr, and show her brother and parents just how good at all of this she can be.

Other:

DRAGON
Name:
Hakilith
Age: 4 Turns
Clutch:
3573.10.28
Eveleth x Thistreth
Color: Blue
Size:
46'
Physical Description:
Tiny, for a Blue, with a frail physique, most people would think Hakilith is incapable of the work required for a fighting dragon. In fact, when he hatched? People thought he likely wouldn't make it. Even fully grown as he is now, his body is small, and his wingspan and tail are the largest parts of his body. He's pale at the head, with color darkening towards his tail, and has a slightly more narrow head than other dragons.

Personality:
Quiet and shy Hakilith is happiest in the back of the pack. If he's unnoticed by anyone but His, he's content to spend his time hiding on his ledge, or running under the instructions of a Winglead or Second. He does his best when given demands, or structure, which is part of why he picked His Z'mya. He likes to be noticed only when it's for praise, and goes white-eyed if he's criticized, but does his best no matter what he does. He wants to be loved, and treated gently by people, and asks his rider to tend to his particular needs as soon as he asks for them...if she wouldn't mind please.

Name:
K'ali
(Formerly Kaehaali)
Age:
63
Nameday:
3514.01.28
Sex:
Female
Sexual Orientation:
Heterosexual
Weyr:
High Reaches Weyr
Rider Rank:
Wingrider - Harbingers
Previous Rank/Craft:
Kitchen Worker

Physical Description:
Honestly, K'ali doesn't think herself much to look at. A bit on the pudgy side, with broad shoulders and wide hips, she has a pear-shaped figure. Skin is dark, a soft tanned color, nearing dark brown. With wide eyes framed by long lashes, and slightly thinner lips, she thinks herself a harsher figure. One of her golden brown eyes is missing, and her black hair is wild and curly. She's only about 5'8" tall, and tends towards stooping a bit.

Personality:
If there's one thing K'ali has been since her days as a Weyrling, it was devoted. To study, to her work, to the weyr, K'ali knew her place and was happy in it. Every task she was ever given, she throws herself in to with her whole heart. Anyone she shows an interest in, even after a Flight, will be the light of her life until they no longer need her. Her devotion to life knows very few bounds, even after her Thread injuries. There is an issue that causes K'ali quite a bit of trouble, and it is that she often finds her sense of self-worth from her own work and other people. otherwise, she tends to be a bit self-depreciating. She knocks herself down and often overly-criticizes her mistakes and flaws. If she makes even one mistake, she will often drill herself and Squonth on it over and over again until they get it right.

Her devotion means that she's more than ready to dive headfirst in to the work that is to be done. From chores, to drills, to threadfighting, she makes sure that she's constantly on her feet and moving to learn or improve. If another Rider, or Wingleader asks her to do something? She's likely to pick it up. This does mean that she can tend to overwork herself if she's not careful. She likes to keep busy so much that she often falls victim to exhaustion or stress. As she gets older, she's also proving to not slow down the pace, also sometimes getting a bit ill.

K'ali is the type to want to know about what she's doing, and why she's doing it. The world around her, and the tasks she's done, and continues to do? She wants to learn everything she can until she's got nothing more to learn. Which, to her understanding and hope, will be never. She prays there will always be more to learn. Her curiousity does come with a healthy dose of fear though. A natural fear that creates quite a bit of anxiety. She often finds herself over-thinking, getting lost in a spiral of what ifs or buts.

Positive Trait List
Devoted, Hardworking, Curious
Negative Trait List
Self-Depreciating, Over-worker, Anxious

History:
Before Riderhood, Kaehaali was a nobody, and happy to be a nobody. The kitchens were home, and she could hide in the dark, scrabbling around to do what she was told without an issue. Her mother and father were a Drudge and a Wingrider, so Kaehaali rather knew the machinations and politics of the weyr. She grew up knowing her father and his Green dragon, and her mother and the kitchens. The caverns were her home, and there was so much to know and learn. It at least made her life easier, since she was naturally attuned to following direction and being given new tasks to understand.

She never even thought about Candidacy until she was searched by a Bluerider that was in her Father's wing. The blue INSISTED, apparently, that Kaehaali would be a fantastic addition to the weyr and that she had something special. For a girl who preferred to fade in to the background, to be a cog in the machine....This was something she didn't know how to handle. However, she didn't stand out much once she was in the barracks, and being able to work in the kitchens still made it easier. The only way she ACTUALLY stood out was in her devotion to the classes and the chores. If anyone needed a hand, Kae would happily offer to assist them, anxiously hoping that maybe she could earn favor with her Candidacy class.

Standing for clutches was....exciting, something she'd never thought to experience either. Sure, she'd seen it from the Stands, but this was different, wasn't it? Having little ones darting about your feet to and fro. Her Standing did take a while. Going in to Candidacy at 15, Kae ended up not Impressing any time early on. It took five turns before she heard a very timid, frightened voice that tugged at an instinct that she had no idea was in her. Squonth, begging her to maybe please accept him? He knew that he wasn't what she expected...but he was still good, wasn't he? The tiny blue was scooped up, and since that moment, they were inseparable.

Squonth smoothed out some of Kaehalli, now K'ali's, rougher edges, with unending love and support. He would love her, where she didn't love herself, and she, while anxious, became his backbone, helping him learn to stand up. They were a good threadfighting pair, and made it through Werylinghood with very little incident.

For many turns, the two have fought Thread and been a devoted addition to High Reaches. Threadscored as they are, they've still fight left in them!

Other:
None right now.

DRAGON
Name:
Squonth
Age:
44 turns
Clutch:
3533.04.20.
Caracath x Aveth
Color:
Blue
Size:
46'
Physical Description:
A tiny Blue, Squonth thinks himself nothing impressive. He is not trim and fit, but rather possesses an almost over-thin nature. One would think he would be rotund, but he's hardly lazy. The pair of them are hard-workers after all. He eats enough, he swears, but Squonth just has never been able to much put on weight. His neck and tail seem the largest parts of him, with his wings in a close second. His head is lean and his headknobs short. In fact, one might've expected him to be a White.

Personality:
Squonth is one of the kindest dragons you could ever hope to meet. Everything about him is permissive, happy and ready to be there for someone if they ask for him. He wants to make you smile, and he will do whatever you ask him in order to make that happen. After all, he is a blue! It's his place to be the good boy. Even in his eagerness to please, though, he's very quiet and withdrawn. He tends towards not talking to people, just following around and devoting himself to whatever it is they're trying to do, or asking him to do. He doesn't speak up during drills or threadfall either...which thankfully, is what K'ali is good for.

To his Wing, his Clutchmates, and his Rider, Squonth will forever be devoted and loyal. He wants to make sure that they know that he would follow them to the ends of Pern and beyond. He never really questions what they do, so he sees everything as justifiable in one way or another. It doesn't matter if it's bad. If he cares deeply about them? They MUST'VE had a reason for it! That only makes sense, right? He knows they wouldn't do anything to hurt the Weyr, or him, or K'ali! He tends to be extraordinarily blind when it comes to his friends or those he's devoted to.

Squonth likes to make sure he's always telling the truth. After all, it's important to be honest when you make a mistake. Or when you're talking to your friends. Or...WELL. Any time. It's rare for Squonth to lie about anything, even the things he sees others do. If he's pressed by a Dragon above him? He'll make sure he tells them exactly what he's experienced or heard. Not to gossip! But because they asked and that's his job is to be at the beck and call of his superiors. This can mean that he's a bit blind to the ways of the world beyond his place as a cog in the weyr machine. Devious machinations, and political stuff goes right over his head. As far as Squonth knows, everything is sunshine and rainbows.

Name:
N'hil (from Nerahil)
Age:
30
Nameday:
3547.06.19

Sex:
Male
Sexual Orientation:
Pansexual

Weyr:
High Reaches
Rider Rank:
Wingrider - Trespassers
Previous Rank/Craft:
Kitchens Worker

Physical Description:
N'hil stands at about 6'2" tall, lithe and toned, at least well-muscled from years of dragonriding. He tends to look more androgynous, keeping dark, curling hair long, blue eyes standing out against tanned and weathered skin. Freckles dot across the bridge of his nose and up the sides of his cheeks, accenting his looks. Those eyes are an upturned almond shape, shown off by long lashes, and often very calm. His only slightly full rose lips are often in a soft smile, his strong jaw also soft. With narrower shoulders and slightly stronger hips, he tends towards more natural-seeming clothes, in browns and sometimes more yellowed-olive tones.

Personality:
Sitting around and doing nothing has never been N'hil's strong point. He prefers to be on his feet with his hands deep in the work. As long as he's allowed to explore and learn, he picks up quickly, especially with more physical or mechanical labors. It means that he often has 20 projects going at once on rest days, and is involved with learning more about wing drills and patterns, and threadfall, during his workdays, devoted to his wing and work. However, finishing any of these projects is unlikely. N'hil can often get bored if left to his own devices. He's not the sort to really attach to one thing for too long, more likely to swing between project to project once he's about half-way done with it. It can also lead to some daydreaming when he should be paying attention...especially if he's gone through something quite a few times.

Cheerful and good-natured as a whole, N'hil is someone that people can feel welcome around. He's always willing to chatter at whoever so happens to be around him at any given time, a smile ready for any person who so happens to catch his eye. He's also quick to flirt and spend intimate time with people, though he's not often given to stay for too long. He has some issues with commitment that likely stems from his tendency towards boredom. The only solid commitment he's ever made was to their Wing, to Merali, and to Svallinth. He might be completely pleasant, but the second things get serious with other people, N'hil is known to balk and shy away, kind of keeping his distance from the person until things have 'blown over'.

It's not terribly difficult to say that N'hil is good at going with the flow. The physical risk is welcome, and he seems to have the ability to adjust his mindset to focus on whatever it may be that comes next. Even in threadfall, when stress is often at its highest? N'hil can be seen with his attention taken on the fall, and on the patterns. Best to stay calm and help where he can, right? However, this can mean that N'hil takes risks that aren't often necessary. He has a bit of a desire to see if he can push his limits and try things that might not be conventional. It can sometimes frustrate others, since he likes putting himself smack in the middle of these dangerous situations.

Positive Trait List
Practical, Optimistic, Cool with Pressure
Negative Trait List
Bored, Commitment issues, Risk-taker

History:
Nerahil honestly hadn't thought his life would amount to much by the time he was old enough to think of such things. The son of two generations of Kitchens workers in HR? Please. He spent most of his life in the caverns, learning the system and how High Reaches worked, preparing food for people, riders, feasts, whatever came along. He'd watched person after person come through the weyr and really just enjoyed the stories. After all, he wasn't anything terribly special, was he? Not a Crafter or a Candidate. He was just Nerahil. He at least had a companion through all this.

She was the one he was head over heels for from a time shortly before he was of age in Pernese terms. He couldn't help it! They'd grown up together and had a delightful chemistry that Nerahil rather enjoyed. He wasn't much for being tired down, but he WAS interested in trying to make sure she would be his for as long as he could. He pursued her, and eventually managed to get in to a relationship with Merali. She quickly managed to work past Nerahil's boundaries, and quickly became the centre of his life...at least until something strange happened.

Honestly, Nerahil never really sat in the stands for Clutches. He knew well the chances of a Rider Impressing from the stands were low, and so it was with reluctance that he accompanied Merali to sit and watch one of Fianth's clutches being born. From his spot lower in the stands, he was antsy, rather thinking that he was missing out on prep work, but they'd gotten permission to watch just this once. He at least managed to keep his eyes on the Sands for the most part, only to see something he'd never thought would come his way. It was a trumpeting little Bronze. His heart...Hearts? were beating faster, and he couldn't make sense of the warmth, love, and delight he was feeling. That was when the bright voice met his ears.

Precious Nerahil Mine, come down to your Svallinth! I have been waiting for you, and only you! Come and play! Breathless, he stumbled from the stands to the Sands to embrace the huge bronze hatchling, enveloping him in his arms. A sharding Kitchens Worker Impressing a Bronze...How would this go over? It hardly mattered though...With Svallinth right beside him, N'hil could do anything.

Their time in Weyrlinghood seemed to suit N'hil, the young man diligent and practical, capable of figuring out solutions to odd problems, eager to study and learn. He was READY for the responsibility that being a Bronzerider brought. Upon Graduation, he would continue to prove himself in the hard work for his Wing, and for the Weyr. No matter where he stood, N'hil was MORE than ready to devote himself as a Threadfighter...and to Merali, who'd actually become a Rider in the same clutch as he had.

Other: Anything else you want to add

DRAGON

Name:
Svallinth
Age:
6 turns
Clutch:
3571.02.15
Caracath x Worenth
Color:
Bronze
Size:
87'

Physical Description:
Middling large for a bronze, Svallinth is almost all tail and wings. His wide wingspan allows for power in flight, though less in the way of maneuverability, since he's a bit bulky. His hide confused some people when he was born, a pale bronze that seems almost golden in color. With brown and orange spotting all over him, looking almost like sunlight through water if it weren't for the color. His eyes are almost always blue or violet, never really straying in to the warmer tones unless necessary.

Personality:
Hello, yes hi! Svallinth is here! Bright, sunny, and playful, the Bronze is always looking for something more interesting and fun to do. After all, life is but a big stage, and he is certainly one of the brightest star players you could EVER want to look at! The Bronze has no real desire to take anything slow or lazy. It's gotta be fast paced and fast times! Risk, Excitement, PLAY! It can sometimes be troublesome to other dragons, but when up in the Sky for Threadfall, that's when he's so terribly lucky to have his N'hil!

He is a hopeless romantic, and spends a lot of time daydreaming about that perfect love that he's SURE will come his way. He likes to flatter other pretty ladies around him, and will likely never want for company, even if he is hopeful to only have a ONE that he can devote all his time and attention to. He knows that he has duties to attend, but they're so terribly BORING! The bronze isn't very good with boring unless he's something to keep his attention, and sometimes will drift off in to thought instead of being pressed in one direction or another. Poetic, dreamy, and sweet, he might be, but all the same, he's no particular drive to be the social climber of High Reaches.

Fortunately, he's nowhere near lazy, with boundless energy that he and His often devote to study even if he's no particular drive to. It's something to get his excitement out! Something to focus on, even when he wants to simply daydream. He has to move and shake it, so he can actually sleep at night! Sometimes that can be a serious problem for him. His energy can lend itself to Svallinth being a chatterbox though, often unable to stop talking even when it's obvious that others around him want him to stop....Whoops.

Name:
P'hyr (from Phyrionant)
Age:
30
Nameday:
3547.05.12

Sex:
Male
Sexual Orientation:
Homosexual

Weyr:
Western Weyr
Rider Rank:
Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft:
Healercraft Journeyman - Trauma healer

Physical Description:
P'hyr is small, for a male rider. Standing at only 5'4" with a figure that looks more lithe than it actually is, his willowy look hides a great strength. He has to have it, to control his Blue. His dark hair is kept long, wavy and a blue-black tone. His eyes are a bright jade tone that offsets his darker bronze-toned skin. He has very few scars yet, as a younger Rider, and his hands are constantly smoother than you'd think. P'hyr tends towards wearing darker blues, PROUD of his impression.

Personality:
P'hyr has always liked things in strict structure. Even long before his Impression, raised in Healer Hall, he liked having things just so. Structure, to his mind, creates discipline, which is necessary for every aspect of life. He lives and dies by schedules, and is rather stringent about making sure things are the way they need to be. Security, lack of Chaos, all of it, he needs it to thrive. He tends to, in his need for order, look at other people in his own terms. Are they more chaotic? Do they meet his standards? The answer is usually no, and so he tends to be a bit more stand-offish towards them. His high expectations for his own state means that he will always judge those around him, whether it's fair or not.

He has a need to exemplify the things he wants to see around him, and one of those qualities that the Hall imparted on to him was a patience with those that need him, or guidance. He tends to, though judging, be very lenient with the behaviors he doesn't like, trying to gently guide. It means he's level and calm, generally with a bit of a softer tone and pleasant bedside manner. Wouldn't do to be a Trauma Healer if you were impatient and cruel! However, despite his willingness to be patient? He is always stubborn. Things he doesn't like WILL change, and he has the means to wait it out. What he believes, what he knows, is right, and he will stick by that to the end. Sometimes that stubbornness leads to a sense of resentment when things don't go his way, but he does his best to keep his mouth shut about it.

P'hyr will do his best to always speak his mind. He prizes above all things honesty, and asks that anyone around him be direct, because he will always be direct with them. His thoughts, his words, his deeds, there's never a moment's deception from the Bluerider. He has no need for it. However, emotional things? Especially intimate ones? Make very little sense to him. He's never been great with handling other people's emotions either, finding it awkward to interact with them.

Positive Trait List
Ordered, Patient, Honest
Negative Trait List
Judgemental, Stubborn, Difficulty with emotion

History:
Born to a Mindhealer and his wife, Phyrionant was the eldest of three children. His father, a Craftmaster, was often called this way and that, leaving Phyr to help his mother and make sure things were done. Even from the young age of 6, he did his best to make sure his younger brother had whatever he needed to make his mother's life easier. When he was only 8, he was chosen to apprentice in Healer Hall, and taken under the wing of a Trauma healer, who recognized his steady nature and hands.

Phyrionant took to the craft like a dolphin does to the waves of the ocean. It was organized, required cleanliness and patience. He worked hard, studying intensely, and devoting his life to his work under the Healer's care. It wasn't until his journeyman status that he first made his way to Western Weyr to help out. He and the man he had apprenticed under were there to help the people, and Phyr found himself enamored with the order of the weyr. It might not be as clean as the Hall, but it was still incredibly ordered and well kept!

His devotion to the weyr and his craft was deep, and he went about his daily business, helping out at hatchings and such...so when at last he found himself hearing a strange voice in his head. A voice that came with a powerful feeling that rocked him to his core. This was how Phyrionant became P'hyr and blue Carchath chose his Rider, Get out of that hovel you're working in Mine, and come attend your Carchath.. 23 turns old and a Healer became a soldier of sorts. The pair of them were devoted at least. While Carchath was rough and tumble, and aggressive, P'hyr made sure to help keep His in line.

They made it through Weyrling training with no trouble, and ever since? They've been an incredibly devoted Wingrider pair.

Other: N/A

DRAGON
Name:
Carchath
Age:
6 Turns
Clutch:
3571.08.22
Sheyoth x Minoth (brown)
Color:
Blue
Size:
65'
Physical Description:
Lean muscle and large for a Blue, Carchath might not be max size, but he certainly tries to look it. His wingspan makes up a good portion of his bulk, with a shorter tail, long neck, and stubby legs. His gray-blue body is broken up by a lighter blue underbelly, and large eyes always seem to exist in a warmer tone, usually in the reds or oranges. Since Threadfighting, he's got scars along his body and wings, and seems madly proud of every single one.r

Personality:
Watch out World, Carchath has been shelled. It is probably lucky this Blue was shelled at Western instead of another Weyr, because he thinks himself the king of the clutch, arrogance running through every fibre of his being. This bulky boy knows he;s all muscle, despite having a lithe figure, and will treat everyone around him like they're less than him. The only time he seems to have any sense of diplomacy is with a Queen. Emotion and poetry don't suit this blue. No, he prefers action over word, showing his strength in a heavy sense of devotion to his Weyr and Rider. Anyone he works under? Has to prove themselves to the Blue's mind before he really has any respect for them.

Ambitious to a fault, Carchath believes that his P'hyr belongs at the top of the world, and the Weyr. Even with his own arrogance and need for action instead of word, he is dedicated to making sure they are the best. That they are clearly superior to those around them. He wants to push His to the top...even if that isn't necessarily what the other wants.
