┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Nerissa Akira ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁۞ This most definitely did took Nerissa off guard. She thought of this person more of a goof ball than her. It was a little funny but at the same time strange. She hasn't met anyone who would take great fascination into her species. Granted her mother has but that's besides the point. She tried to think of a way to dive into this conversation some more but the only thing she could do was stand there and nod.
Her teeth were quite identical to the dragon's. However, hers had the ferocity to pierce ones skin and hold on tight. It's like a pit-bull with a lockjaw. Hard to throw off and painful when she sinks in deeper.
She didn't move forward to give the other a hug. The two of them were strangers to another. Hugging a random person seemed creepy. She might understand that this could just be a way to welcome someone but her father usually told her that people shook by hand. Maybe she should try that? Or maybe she shouldn't?
"Uh... yeah to my eyes.. and yes my taste buds can differentiate each type." She responded. It was true! Her abilities allowed her to tell the difference when she consumes blood. It just came in as instinct.
With that last question in mind, it seemed that the woman was offering to pay for her stock. She shook her head immediately with the refusal. She didn't want to have someone aid if she's done nothing to deserve it. It wasn't right. She'll feel guilty. Her posture and her face started to show that when she looked off to the side in a nervous matter. Hell, even her hands started to fiddle with the bag wrapped up in her fingers.
"Thanks for the offer but no thanks."▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ After everything, you still want me to bleed OOC:

nnnnnn⊰. . .M ei ❇ Lin. . .⊱nnnnnn 【 The Cheeky Kirin 】 Who: Milos and a cloaked woman || Where: The Marketplace || Thoughts: So hungry || Ambience: Keep Your Eyes Open OOC: || --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mei stared up at the woman with fascination. She had never been so close to a vampire in real life and especially hadn't talked to one! It was all so incredible, the dragon almost forgot about her apples. Stepping forward as if to physically make herself remember, Mei shook her head and smiled before turning to the vendor. Spilling out numerous gold coins, most of which were far too expensive to most, the girl smiled brightly as the man turned away from her and hunched over to get the goods. Her eyes seemed to grow stars when Milos turned back to her with four sacks full of apples.
While it took the man two trips to grab all of them, Mei took them all into her hands and held them two on each side. Looking back to the woman, she tilted her head and smiled again. "Thanks for talking to me! Wanna eat together?"
The dragon was hopeful for a positive response, though she was sure she wouldn't get one. Her abrasive persona was all too unnerving to some she had just met, and while she had been told countless times to calm herself, it never really got through. She was kind to all, and she would show it! It wasn't her fault the world made most people hardened and cautious of strangers. The vampire had already declined her offer to pay for the many sacks of blood, and she didn't seem too keen on talking with her further, but Mei still wanted to ask just in case. To be polite is always the best foot forward, was her motto and she wasn't about to stop it now! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Nerissa Akira ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁۞ At first, Nerissa kept her eyes off to the side, but when the woman showed a whole batch-full of coins to the store clerk... Well let's just say a hint of jealousy was on the vampire's face. Her family wasn't role at all in this kingdom. Just an ordinary folk who had an adopted daughter. Well it did seem pretty unique for that part but still. The royal family took little notice of them. Nerissa can't even recall meeting one. It just seemed rather surprising to her to see such amount of gold thrown in the direction of the store merchant.
"No problem." She looked down at her again with a decision beginning to plague her mind. Eat with her? Seemed rather fast. She could see the friendliness in the dragon's face but a part of her was reluctant to go along with it. Decisions.. decisions... She started to twist her foot slightly in the ground.
Eventually she came to with an answer that despite it being strange to do but she may as well not hesitate any longer. "Okay." She responded. It was a big step for her to do this. Her gut was telling her it was fine while her mind had the doubt. It was practically intertwining with each other. If things did indeed get weirder than usual then she can just leave quickly. Let's just hope that doesn't come to that.▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ After everything, you still want me to bleed OOC:

nnnnnn⊰. . .M ei ❇ Lin. . .⊱nnnnnn 【 The Cheeky Kirin 】 Who: Milos and a cloaked woman || Where: The Marketplace || Thoughts: So hungry || Ambience: Keep Your Eyes Open OOC: || --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mei forgot to pocket the rest of her golden coins and the girl looked shocked as she put down the bags and began to scoop them back up. Royal guards got paid for their services quite well, but the money she sported was not just from them but her own kin. Dragons were always the hoarders, and when it came to hoarders there was always money to be found. She realized others had less than she, and thus it made the girl always ask or give away her money to complete strangers if only to help. It wasn't out of the ordinary for her, but the woman before her didn't know that.
The dragon's eyes lit up when the woman said she'd eat with her. It was something Mei hadn't thought would happen, but she was all the happier it would. Now was just trying to find a place to eat. She could bring the vampire back to her home, but that seemed a little strange to do on a first meeting and the woman was already flighty. So Mei pondered for a moment, tapping her chin and looking into the sky, before she snapped her fingers and looked down.
"Where would you like to go?" Bravo, Mei! Now that was certainly a good question seeing as she wasn't being so presumptuous and she doubted the vampire liked to eat out in public with all the stares. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Nerissa Akira ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁۞ Nerissa's sight on the coins were rather hard to not notice. She tried to wonder where this female might hail from. Her stance and all was difficult to read. It made this trust between them unnerving. She might look nice but looks can be deceiving. For all the vampire knew, this could be a ploy or then again it can just be a nice person who had curiosity for her species.
The tapping of her feet could be heard and her hands fiddling with the bag obvious on sight. She felt regret in accepting an offer to eat. She kinda wanted to go home and forget this but going back on this woman's proposal was an insult.
"U-um." She wasn't sure where they could go. Nerissa didn't have a spot she'd go to eat. Her home didn't count. Her mother or father would be shocked if their daughter took a person home without warning.
"I guess the fountain just outside the market." It did seem plausible. "Unless you'd prefer elsewhere?" She can't really think of anything else that might seem promising to rest.▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ After everything, you still want me to bleed OOC:

There were many fountains around the market, but only a handful outside and it was easy to map a route in her head of where they were trying to get to. She turned her body, ready to walk onward, before hitting her head slightly as she remembered the sacks of apples. Picking them up and turning again, she looked back to the vampire and smiled.
Just as she began walking, hoping the vampire would be at her side, Mei spotted a beggar on the side of the street. It wasn't common to see one, rather it was the dragon buying a toy for a youngling who didn't have money or what have you, and the girl had only stepped a few feet from the stall before she dropped a sack in front of the man. Smiling wide, she also fished in her pocket and gave the man a few extra gold coins before waving her hand to dismiss his thanks.
Humming, she went back to the vampires side and started walking again. "So," she said happily, "what brings you to Durandel? Vampires never come here! It's pretty exciting to see one so close." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Nerissa Akira ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁۞ Nerissa merely shrugged off the question she asked that was surely unanswered. It became obvious that she was the one to lead the woman instead of being led herself. She won't mind, so long as a complaint wasn't given or else she might find a reason to leaving. She'll end up going home to be precise.
She became quiet hence more when they stopped by a homeless person begging for food. She looked at the man who had a face full of sadness. She can't imagine what he was going through. A part of her hoped she won't fall that far in life. She appreciated having a roof over her head and a family that loves her dearly.
A small shake came to her when she noticed her new friend had taken it into her own hands to give the male some gold. It warmed her heart and made her smile slightly.
When they did depart, she looked at her with a slight glimmer in her eyes. "Well I actually live here. I've been here my entire life due to my adopted parents being dragons." She hasn't even been to the kingdom that is home to her species. She's just been in Durandel for centuries.
"How are we exciting?" She was curious to know.▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ After everything, you still want me to bleed OOC:

nnnnnn⊰. . .M ei ❇ Lin. . .⊱nnnnnn 【 The Cheeky Kirin 】 Who: A cloaked woman || Where: The Marketplace || Thoughts: So hungry || Ambience: Keep Your Eyes Open OOC: || --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mei's mouth dropped open and her eyes widened. She had never known the dragon kingdom to take in vampires before, especially since they were technically at a standstill or cold war, if you will. Dragons were the most knowledgeable of all the races due to their genetic abilities of passing down knowledge to their kin, but they were still weak when it came to accepting new traditions outside of the old ways. Mei wasn't like that, however, even if she received a portion of her mother's intellect when it came to just how sneaky vampires could be.
"They must be really good people then! Our mindset is hard to change when new information is brought to our attention. Does that mean you were left by your own parents?" Mei stopped for a moment as they passed over a bridge, almost coming to their destination. "Because I've never seen a vampire up close before! You live for so long, you almost rival dragons. And you're so similar to us when it comes to appearance but you have all that hidden strength in you. Our human visage comes from magic in our bones, so it's easier to retain our strength but you! Wow, you guys are super strong, fast, and you do it all in the body you have. I think anyone would say that's exciting!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Nerissa Akira ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁۞ Nerissa can't remember all the details specifically on how and why her adopted parents had found and taken her in, but that doesn't change the fact that she sees them as her family entirely. Sure, her persona is a little different to theirs but she does share the intellect of the family and the view they have on a few things. She was just joyful for the life they gave her completely.
Her mind felt a slight hint of sadness when the question from Mei came so briefly. "Y-yes." She felt that was a personal and hard thing to endure. Being left by those who more than likely did not want her in the first place. She in her opinion, wanted nothing to do with her original parents. Even if they knew she was alive or not.
"Can't say it's very exciting. Dragons can remain in sunlight for hours on end, while my race has to deal with the harshness of the beams. It's pretty much the result of me being shadowed by this cloak." She explained, stopping in front of her. Neri would absolutely adore to see the sun and feel it bring a nice warm feeling on her body. She's tried to do so in the past but the feeling would invite pain and her parents definitely didn't allow such a thing.▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ After everything, you still want me to bleed OOC:

How different would her life be if she were abandoned at birth and left for helpful and loving people to pick her up. If they knew what she'd turn out to be, she didn't expect any nicity to be shown her way at all.
She cocked her head as the vampire stopped, and listened to her tale. "I wish there was something I could do. I have the ability of lightning but I don't think I could give you my aura even just for a little bit. The sun is pretty nice, but I like the night too! They're both really good! Maybe the mages have made some potion to help you. Have you ever thought of visiting Karst?" She said all this before biting into a sweet apple and looking around. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Nerissa Akira ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁۞ It has occurred to Nerissa to possibly ask for assistance with her sun problem but it would cost a great deal. She cannot afford such the luxury of buying potions. Blood bags were given to her at a low price but that was a lucky thing to be given. Potions on the hand would mean greater income that her parents and herself just don't have. So the possibility was not an existing one.
She shook her head before walking ahead again. "It isn't something easy for me. So no, I haven't." That was probably enough to let Mei know it cannot happen. She rubbed her neck while thinking about it. "We're almost at the fountain." She pointed out. A few more minutes of walking and the two would be at the upcoming destination.▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ After everything, you still want me to bleed OOC:

I'm sure if I ask him, he'll be more than happy to oblige," Mei said happily as she devoured the apple, stem and all. It was true, though she did not know the man personally, her mother had traveled all about the world and knew many faces. Seeing as dragons had racial abilities to pass down memories from one brood to another, it was pretty easy for her to conjure the man's face. She didn't remember if her mother helped him or if they were just passing acquaintances, but it was worth a try to help her new friend.
Her short hair bobbed about her as she swung her head left and right. She could hear the rushing of water, but still could not see it. There were fishes in this fountain, she remembered, and once she had tried to pick at them to eat before her hand was swatted by en elderly dragon. The thought made Mei rummage in her bag to pull out another apple with a look of sadness on her face. She really did love the taste of fish.
Turning her attention back onto her vampire friend, she pondered, "So you've never felt the sun before? Do you have any friends? Oh hey, I never introduced myself!" The girl hit her head again with the side of her hand with the apple held tight. "I'm Mei! Mei Lin of the Lightning Kirin Brood! ¤ Surtr ¤ Location : Marketplace of Durendal Company : Mei, Nerissa... Feelings : Intrigued... ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
Walking through the marketplace the king of the mage kingdom appeared to be quite lost. He had been looking for the palace but somehow had lost his way. Though as he was walking the cocktail party effect suddenly caused his ears to hone in on a duo in particular. Someone looking for mages so that they could go out into the sunlight? A vampire in durendal? Surtr's mind was one that leapt about and he may have gone to far with his conclusion this time but he couldn't help but venture down into the rabbit hole.
The golden haired man turned on his heels and began to follow the duo. When they arrived at the fountain Surtr would stop a few feet from them smiling softly as his fiery eyes looked between the pair. "Excuse me, I don't mean to interrupt but did someone mention needing a mage for a potion?" Surtr inquired holding a ball of fire in his hands that had eyes and a mouth. It looked at them with big eyes full of wonder.
"My name is Surtr.... I am a rather powerful mage I'd be happy to help however I can." He said with a smirk looking at both of them wondering what they would say. Not everyone took kindly to having their meeting interrupted but Surtr couldn't help but find this serendipitous. Why wouldn't he offer? He just happened to be the king of karst and she happened to need his services so why wouldn't he offer? Surtr enjoyed helping especially if he got something in return, which getting to inspect a vampire and befriending both a vampire and a dragon would be quite the pleasant reward.
...and to the dust we shall return...

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Nerissa Akira ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Thirteen times and it's been lucky for me ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁۞ Nerissa placed her hands up in front of her and shook her head frantically. "I cannot ask for someone who barely knows me to do such a great thing." She didn't desire to be in debt with anyone, even if they had a great heart to help her own. She was lucky with the deal in the market, but to have someone conjure up a potion to help her walk in the light seemed wrong. It would involve money or gold that she and her family just doesn't have.
She felt bad to decline the offer but it was set on her mind to not trouble her friend. She couldn't help but think about it when they traversed closer to the fountain and further from the market that she previously was in.
The attention of her ears snapped back and shrugged her shoulders. She can't recall having friends. She guessed the clerk at the store she goes to is one but they don't 'hang' out. It did rattle her mind before she jumped at the excitement that Mei shown when introducing her name officially. "Mei Lin. That's a unique and suitable name." She responded. "It's nice to-."
Her response was interrupted when a mysterious male walked up on them with the explanation of his idea to follow and listen to them. "What?" She didn't really know how to interpret this. It went from one person to offer her potions to yet another. This was not what she wanted at all. It probably didn't help her when she noticed the ball of fire in the man's hand and his curvy smile coming there way.
She backed up while looking at the two with an uncomfortable feeling rising inside her. Speaking to Mei was fine but having to be introduced to another so abruptly was nerve-racking. She didn't even noticed at the time that the bags of blood within her finger was slipping slowly from her grasp.▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ After everything, you still want me to bleed OOC:

That was, however, until a male voice resounded behind them and she spun around with her arms at the ready. She made a strange sound, one of intimidation she'll later say, as she turned to try to make the man back off. (She would remind others of Bruce Lee if he were in this reality.)
Her head cocked as she looked at the familiar man, but she couldn't put her finger on why she knew him. Her eyes lit up, however, as he offered exactly what they were looking for. She didn't understand the concept of lying or con artists so she didn't know of the man's possible act.
The girl's attention was pulled as she watched in slow motion the bag of blood loosen from the vampire's grip. "Oop," she would say, quickly grabbing the bag and holding it back to the vampire with a large smile. "Hey, are you okay? Isn't this a good thing? You can ask this guy for your potion!" She turned to the man, lowering her arms. "She's okay! She's just got a lot on her mind right now.
