When he waved, Shetani was made keenly aware of how often he must have heard these things from mortals. With some well-concealed embarrassment, the lioness reigned in the awe which she felt in speaking to one of the God's children.
"Neltharion..." Shetani repeated quietly. The name held the same sort of familiarity, but it wasn't uncommon to hear stories of the Gods from pridemates or wandering rogues.
"I can't say that i've ever encountered one." Though, it was difficult to say given how easily they should change forms and disguise themselves. "Though, I have heard stories of our pride's patron deities." Her eyes shifted again. What had he called his own mother? Weak for believing herself strong. She wondered how similarly her own mother fit the description.
"But your affliction... this ability of yours, aren't there others who share these gifts? You could learn to harness your ability and use it to your advantage?"

Attor nodded, shifting uncomfortably as the haze bit at the edges of his vision. Noise, chaos, he pushed back hoping to extend his reprieve. "There are others," he agreed, "But as far as harnessing my ability, I can't say I see much use in it even if I could. I see only war." He flinched, bracing himself for her response. Most seemed to want to distance himself from him when they learned the reason for his malaise.
She might not, he told himself. After all, she seemed to be made of something stronger. He couldn't help but admire her, despite his usual distaste for those that stuck to their homelands.

Shetani watched as the male in her company fought off the encroaching vision of torment and war. Members of the Aikanaro might have spat in the face of the stranger, seeing only weakness in his emaciated body and uncontrolled visions. But Shetani saw something greater in him. That his oracular ability was uncontrolled showed a strength of character and willpower to withstand such dark and challenging images. It was evident that when they met he carried a great weight with him and here, she had the opportunity to see it firsthand.
When he flinched again, she felt a tug of empathy toward him. He was weak and he was alone. At the edges of the demon lands, he was truly vulnerable. She could only imagine that it would be his coat and those curious markings which might spare his life if he encountered one of her pridemates.
But she did not turn away from him. Instead, she shifted where she was to rest on her stomach, head resting on the surface of her front paws.
"I will keep watch," she replied. The words were steadfast and it was clear she would not take 'no' for an answer.

Attor paced, moving a little closer to her then backing up again. He considered running, but this close on he wouldn't get far. And as she'd mentioned, this was pride land. He hadn't been able to glean enough from their conversation to make out just what sort of others he might encounter here. Reluctantly he settled, turning a half circle before laying down.
He kept his eyes on her, tucking his legs together. The position made him appear smaller, more childish. "I'm going to shout," he warned her, trying to make light of what he knew would come, "And I'd like to wake up with my features intact."
Trusting her was not something he was comfortable with, but as the onslaught began he felt almost peaceful. A guardian, how interesting.
