Chryssa glared towards him, "I hope you aren't suggesting I'm too proud." She quipped, "It just seems better if you are a bit wary else you might have to go chase someone else through the alleys for your purse." Still her retort didn't stop the light flush from her cheeks. She wasn't that proud! She just didn't want to have to rely on anyone and yet this guy kept offering help! Not like I have much of a choice if I want to know where to go next. Chryssa reminded herself before letting out a quiet breath, "But I will gladly take any place to sleep that's good and reasonable." Could she trust him to offer such a place?

"Yes, yes." Chryssa nodded her head, "Though hopefully you can eat and walk at the same time so you won't have to worry about that. Surely you have that much skill at least." She commented again before preparing herself by dusting off any last alley dirt and then making certain that her purse was safely hidden now under her skirts, "Let's go. Lead the way oh gracious sir."

Leukos ruffled a bit at the snide remark but quickly brushed it off. If she wanted to be like that, then fine, whatever. She’d agreed to it, so that meant at least a part of her must’ve been interested. So he decided then and there that she could be as prickly as she wanted, he wouldn’t let that get in the way of at least providing her the experience of the usual charming Leukos Treatment ©. So he took another bite of his dumpling and started walking.

They meandered about at a leisurely pace, having nowhere in particular they needed to be. Leukos told her whatever he had learned about any place they passed, from the history of buildings to any funny little situations he’d seen the locals get themselves into. Eventually he finished his food, using the stick as a pointer to gesture at things they saw, waving it about excitedly when he really got into any juicy details he could recall. Judging from the excitement that she’d let slip past her cool exterior from time to time as they passed something mundane and ordinary, he guessed this might even be her first time in a real city. As much as he was begrudged to admit it, meeting her in such an unfortunate series of events had been fortuitous; he’d missed having someone to talk to, gab over all the wonderful new things he’d seen while on this trip. And if she was going to listen, then he’d tell her. He noticed that as they walked, they were met with looks from the locals they passed, some curious, others more scornful. No doubt it was due to the strange appearance of his companion, with her golden skin and hair. The mark of a hybrid. But really, what did that matter? It just made her more unique, someone of interest. And Leukos was always interested in things that were different. Especially when they were cute girls.

He’d mention the details of any inns they passed, giving her the lowdown on their rates. They did not go very far; she’d said she didn’t want to, and Leukos tried to respect that. After seeing everything of interest in the area, he looped back to a large fountain and hopped up on the ledge, giving her a little bow. “And that concludes our tour for the evening, milady. I hope you found it enlightening and entertaining. Any idea where you’d like to stay for your first night in the city?”

He definitely was dedicated to his attempts at charm. Chryssa was admittedly slightly amused by the fact. The man seemed to be full of endless optimism and energy. Even though he did well in telling stories and showing her around the girl tried her hardest to be cool about things. If she looked like some gawking teenager right now then that truly would spoil how hard she had been trying earlier! Of course at some points she couldn't help being a bit amazed or interested as they saw some rather interesting buildings and places. I'm definitely not in Sauti anymore. She told herself with some awe as they stared across the city from a high point.

But just like that it was over and they were looking at inns.

"Ah, thanks." She shrugged lightly before tucking a stray curl behind a finned ear, "I suppose any of those inns would do. None looked too shabby - did you have any particular one that you would trust more than others? That you would stay at too?" She paused thoughtfully before shaking her head at the realization of how such a thing sounded, "That way I can avoid that inn of course and pick the next in line. Or better yet the one that's opposite on the list so I can feel safer." From him and from his judgement. Really though was there something wrong with him? He had been absolutely nice to her and here she was being a jerk again. Chryssa steadied her heart. This was best. She didn't want anyone taking pity on her or trying to charm themselves too easily into her life!

If she was going to make sense of Matori and try to find her father then it was best to do so alone. She was not going to fall for some handsome looks and charisma. That was what had wooed her mother in the first place and made Chryssa's own life such a mess - since she was after all someone who should have never been born.

Leukos hopped down from his perch to stand next to Chryssa again, an amused smile making its way onto his face. She was really trying so hard to be difficult, it was almost admirable. But underneath all that it seemed like she really was a decent girl, just a bit stubborn. “Well, I would personally not pick the one with the blue door across from the public square. Its sitting area and breakfast deal were just too nice; no way it’s not a scam. Plus it’s so close to the beach, I’m sure you’d get tired off all that sand. But I mean… that’s just my opinion.” He shrugged his shoulders in a large, exaggerated manner.

“Plus, it’s so far away from the place I’m staying at, ‘The Dancing Zanteer’. It would take so much effort to make your way all the way over there for a visit. But my door would never be open if you’d like someone to talk to, if you needed help getting around. Because you’d like to never see me again, of course…” He winked at her and put his hands on his hips, reassured by the feeling of his money hidden beneath his sash. Making that mistake had almost cost him dearly. But things had worked out after all.

Chryssa found herself nodding with a slow smile, "I see." It sounded like a nice place and she definitely felt the need to rest her body for the night. After all that traveling and bouncing around on a caravan wagon the girl was ready to just lay down. And Leukos seemed so 'aghast' about the place that she couldn't help feeling even more inclined to stay there.

"Obviously." Quipped Chryssa back with the hint of a smile, "I would never expect any hospitality nor should you expect me to be in the area for a few days." She pursed her lips thoughtfully as she glanced around, "Nor would I probably go back for more dumplings after an afternoon of exploring tomorrow." She shook her head, "If I even made it back from the beach first. Sauti didn't have such beaches so I'm eager to see what this ocean life is all about."

The golden hybrid shrugged, "As it is time to stop wasting each other's time." The girl reached a hand up to hide a yawn, "It's late and the last thing I want is to be too tired to check into a place. Seems like I have a lot of walking to do since I would never stop anywhere nearby - definitely not a blue door inn." The light tease slipped away from her mouth and she turned away with a flush, "Anyways thank you. I hope you take care though we probably won't see each other again." She shrugged casually and began to walk away though did take a few moments to peek over her shoulder just to check on the fact that he was still there as she walked away.
