"No, I decided to visit you here to see if the risk paid off." She leaned against the door frame as they paused outside of his classroom, waiting for him to open the door so she could brush past him to step inside. Her eyes drifted around the room slowly. She took in the desks, the shelves, the books. On the wall there was a classic blackboard and a very small part of her wanted to power up and run her gloved nails across it just so she could make herself cringe. It was his desk that her attention paused on, however, and she walked towards it, turning to face him once more before taking a seat on it while flashing him a grin. "I like the place. It suits you already-- Made yourself nice and cozy, pencil holder on the desk and everything. Still waiting to see what you brought to change into before we head out for the night, though," she teased, leaning back on her hands as she watched him from across the room.

He had made the classroom 'his' as much as he could so far. It wasn't much but there were a few posters on the wall, none of them your standard fair, and extra shelves had been brought in for books he demanded be in his classroom including some he'd brought from home. Watching her perch on the desk was amusing and he stepped almost into her space so he could set his bag down on the desktop where it would be safe. "If I am going to be here for eight hours a day it best be cozy. You were the one who was so eager to change clothes. I believe that means I must be a gentleman and let you go first." His smirk darkened slightly as he watched her. "I'll even close my eyes if you like."

Her eyes met his, holding on to his gaze with a steady determination. "Age before beauty, please. I insist." He might not have believed her to have much in the sense of self preservation, but if she was going to expose who she was to someone else-- Someone who wasn't a member of the pack, she was going to make sure that he had 100% joined their side first. Not that she believed he hadn't with the way he was talking... And not like she didn't know where he lived to fix the problem herself if one arose. Fix the problem? Do you know how crazy that sounds? "Mm, you know what... Fine. These heels aren't all that comfortable anyways." Her smile brightened after the brief slide into contemplation. Her hand came up to brush fingers along his chest before giving him a shove back as she hopped down. When her feet hit the floor she let the shadows envelope her, changing her until the young woman who stood before him was not Katrina Halloran, but Captain Tourmaline.

Kian almost laughed at her, almost, tempted to let his vain side show and tell her that unfortunately he won both the age and beauty sides of that equation but she recanted and agreed to show herself first. Saving him the trouble and possible bruised jaw that would have no doubt gotten him. The look on her face would have been priceless though and well worth it. Her shove only moved him a few steps, out of her personal space but not all that far. Her transformation was interesting though. It was much like he'd seen before but from what he could tell rather different from his own. "My my ..." As he reached up, as if he was going to tip a hat, his form flickered. Katrina would see it like a broken image on a screen complete with static and a blackout before Professor Cappello had been replaced with Lieutenant Uvarovite.

His transformation was met with a slow, deliberate clap, giving him a moment to settle himself before she stopped. Captain Tourmaline stepped closer to him, invading his space this time as she reached out to brush her fingers along his tie before reaching up to run a claw lightly along the brim of his hat. "It's a nice touch, Lieutenant. Suits you nicely, although I can't ever seem to get away from the green and black. Always green and black," she muttered the last bit to herself, expression going dark for a moment only to brighten as she stepped back to really look him over again. "Nice coat; good for the weather we've been having. Boots too. Watch out with a loose tie like that. Crafty opponent gets close enough and," she made a quick jerking motion with her hands by her own neck, cocking her head to the side in an attempt to make the image clear. "Did you draw the short straw when it comes to weapons? Doesn't matter... Ready to go?"

"It is not as if I was asked what colors I would like." Though given the choice he probably still would have gone with green and black. They made for easy camouflage and he had always been partial to green. He did reach up though and tug on the tie, the knot didn't budge an inch. "It is stitched in place so it can't move. Much easier to lure someone in close if they think they have an opening." He had wondered about the tie at first himself but after finding out it wasn't a real tie he'd been alright with it. "After you my dear," He bowed slightly, motioning toward the door. "Unless you have somewhere you'd prefer to take me?" His hand turned over so she could take it if that was her plan.

"Fake? No way to lead you around by it, then. This will have to do." She slid her hand into his, stepping towards the door as if she were going to open it and stroll right through the halls of Romano's powered up. She wasn't, of course. Reckless was something she generally tried to reserve for moments that weren't also stupid. Sneaking in had been bad enough, but walking around like she owned the place while powered up was likely to lead to trouble with one of the new General Sovereigns and until she knew where her general was and how to get him back she very much liked the idea of avoiding that. Instead she tugged him closer, slipping his arm around her momentarily in the event proximity meant anything when it came to teleportation, and not just touching. When the feeling of cold, dark shadows wore off they were outside. She had brought them to a building rooftop in the theater district, lit well enough to see with enough shadows to hide in and a beautiful view of the city and the sunset on the horizon. "Much better way to spend a Friday evening than in a stuffy classroom, don't you think?"

"You could try but it would be rather easy for me to escape." It did come off over his head rather easily so long as he could keep his hair from getting tangled in it. He let her maneuver him as she wished for a moment but slightly regretted it when she teleported the two of them. The sensation was still strange and he wasn't sure he liked the cold almost wet feeling that it left him with. Perhaps it was just because he was new at this whole thing or perhaps it was an acquired taste, but so far it was decidedly unpleasant. "Well I can't say I wouldn't prefer to be inside watching a show but this is quite a bit better than being cooped up in a classroom." He ran his fingers along the collar of her coat, straightening it out a bit, as he spoke.

"Well, underneath all of this I am still wearing a rather nice skirt, blouse and heels. If you'd like to take me to a show-- Maybe buy me some dinner? I wouldn't complain." It honestly hadn't been what she had in mind when she'd gone looking for him at the school, but dragging him straight into the frantically dangerous desire to fight everything and anything when she was powered up probably wasn't for the best... And she certainly wouldn't say 'no' to a good meal that she didn't have to pay for. "I promise, dressing up before finding you at the school and then teleporting us here really wasn't a ploy to convince you to take me out, but... It would be a way to ensure my batteries recharge enough to get us back to our cars without taking a cab." She flashed him a smirk, spring green eyes gleaming.

She really did have pretty eyes he had to admit and that was probably another bit of her that was dangerous, at least for him. The idea of dinner though ... "My dear Kat," He reached up to run his fingers along her jaw so she would keep those pretty eyes on him. "Have you ever been to a show, felt how much energy the audience gives off when they get lost in the story?" He knew what theater they were on top of and knowing exactly what time it was meant he knew there would be a show starting within the hour. They were dressed up enough that no one was likely to notice and with that many witnesses no one was likely to bother them either.

"Too personal." Her hand came up to snatch his, clawed fingertips pressing against the back of his wrist as she held on to his hand. Her eyes remained steady on his though, even as they darkened along with the tone of her voice. "Tourmaline, Captain Tourmaline, Captain or Ma'am are acceptable when we're dressed like this." She released his wrist, taking a step back away from him as she did so. "I appreciate the ambition, but I don't mix business and pleasure like that, Lieutenant." She couldn't. Not now, at least... Not after everything-- Not when it was all still so raw. "If you'd like to have dinner to celebrate your new position we can, but not like this."

Another nerve struck and another piece of the puzzle snapped into place. Katrina, Tourmaline, was still interesting and was slowing giving herself away. Even though he suspected that was entirely what she was trying not to do. "Unfortunately my dear I believe I shall pass, in light of recent events." She may be interesting but he had limits. "I have so far enjoyed your company but rank above me or not I am not likely to take kindly to your attitude forever. I do not have the patience to play cat and mouse with your emotions." He could tell she was intrigued by him, in some way, otherwise she wouldn't have directed him toward the school and wouldn't have come to find out if he'd joined the little army. "I leave the cards in your hands. Take some time before you shuffle the deck again. If you would like my company, without the back and fourth limits, I believe you should be able to find me easily enough. For tonight though I think you should return home."

His words struck her in a way she hadn't expected, shoulders slumping slightly as the corners of her mouth turned down into a frown. "I wasn't," she swallowed, straightening herself out once more, lips pressing back into a firm line, "It was not my intention to press rank or try to... It's dangerous, letting someone call you by something so close to who you are when you're like this. We're given new names for a reason, which is why I said Tourmaline first. I try not to pull rank unless I have reason to do so-- Reason that you've not given me." The Captain took another step back before letting the darkness slip away from her, dropping her guise only to cross her arms over her chest to keep herself from shivering. The suit jacket she'd worn over the borrowed blouse wasn't nearly warm enough to chase off the chill from the air around them, but she didn't want to be Tourmaline right now-- It had been more fun when the evening had started and she'd just been Katrina trying to forget about everything that was wrong. "I'm glad that I wasn't wrong about you; about your potential... A little disappointed that you aren't interested in dinner, but... Win some, lose some." Her eyes were still fixed on him. "I've had too many dates as Tourmaline and not nearly enough as myself."

"It appears you have a choice then." The static crackled around him again and he was back in his normal clothes, hair slightly out of place from the shift. With the frown and reacting to the cold she seemed more like her age and less like the woman she tried to present herself as earlier in the day. It also seemed like his words had struck home like he'd intended and maybe now she'd actually do some listening rather than pretending she always knew what was best. "You can go home, get some rest, and think about who you want to be." He took a step toward the fire escape before holding out a hand to her. "Or you can come down to street level with me and I'll take you to dinner at the Italian place two doors down if you promise to not be argumentative and contrary all evening."

Her eyes trailed after him, boring into his back as he walked away from her until he turned to extend his hand. She blinked slowly and her eyes were on his outstretched hand, leaving her to ponder it for a moment before she stepped forward to slide her hand into his. "I promise I'll try not to be argumentative... It's a little harder to not be contrary." Her pink painted lips curved into a soft smirk. "I'll do my best, though? The Italian place has incredible tiramisu-- It's generally worth being on best behavior for."
