Mara looked pained at Leukos words but quickly tried to hide it when Melody shouted about Hexxis. "We'll look into it. " she repeated what Leukos said as Melody was taken out of the room.
"Can you che -...." she stopped and shook her head, for a moment forgetting that he wasn't Tri and who else was in the room. //I said it doesn't look like he used his own hands to push in the sword. Not that he was blameless. We're trying to figure out if he might have been able to do it or not. At least Ree wasn't involved in this one.... he could have easily stabbed her with her own sword and not leave a clue// she said going from shocked to angry then taking a deep breath. //it's a mess. Come with me later and check to see that Hexxis hasn't been staring over our shoulder the whole time// she said with a slight shiver before looking at the corner, wanting to ask but then decides no against it. // Twin link ..if possible...then Melody was pointing at the same area Hexxis was stabbed yesterday. If nothing comes up I'm going to make the call and see if it isn't it or what to expect if one twin dies and the other starts showing symptoms a day later// she stared at the corner.//then wait until she is better to tell her about Hexxis//
A bit later Melody was rolled back in this time by the assistants as the pixie doctor went to check on the other tests which will take a couple of hours.

"hm?" he looked to Mara with a slight frown once Melody was out of the room. Running a hand through his hair, only to catch on his horns, sighing with exasperation. He nodded at the request to come by and make sure Hexxis wasn't around. It was something he would be questioning as well. //I only know about Mira. She spoke of it. But had mentioned that she only felt her twin's emotion and pain when they were nearby. Maybe it started because her body is near her?// he sighed. //I don't even know how she will react. She's always caring about others... but she wasn't that close to Hexxis either.//
Melody appeared much more calm when they wheeled her back in. At some point her eyes had changed colors and the expression that stared back was one of quiet contemplation. "...she's...calm now. As long as I'm in control. It doesn't hurt me. Only her. But it's honestly subsiding now if you'd like to speak with her again."

Spectrum's figurehead?// there was a hint of dislike in her voice, even if she were incline to disbelieve Ree now that he showed his true colors the spy sent by their agency had not helped at all. //Well that is confirmation that metas have it. I rather call midena all the same if none of the tests come up conclusive// she muttered //it doesn't make sense though, if her body is closer it's well....dead. Doesn't most magic outside of really powerful ones or externally supplied ones fade after that? I don't...freaking know// she muttered crossing her arms and glaring at the corner. //is he still here? Ask him why he is here...why now?//
She stopped and looked up as Melody was brought in with Alice in control. Alice, she had almost forgotten about the mane, wait ..didn't that kind of meant she and Kae had the same daughter..kinda. "Doesn't hurt?" She raised a brow but had the sick feeling that Leukos might have hit on the answer. "Nah, if you can be in control until it fully subsides or sleep that would be great.I don't want her freaking herself out with other possibilities" she said with a soft sigh. " Tell her I said not to worry. I'm going to go make some calls Leukos I think you have a pass for the DO lab? If not Someone should be inside. And ....ghosty ..no words. You hear that? I have have no words " she said angrily just to hid the fear and pain.
Ametrine said nothing, looking at Melody/Alice now with a confused look.

//Yeah. Mirabelle and Rhun raised us. We lived at Spectrum since I was a toddler and she was born.// He nodded once more. //That's for the best to call Midena of you can't find anything.// Leukos sighed, //A lot of things concerning Metas doesn't make sense... we are a phenomenon of a race to be frank. And isn't the existence of manes and malices proof that magic can stay even when the person has died.//
He looked over to Ametrine then back to Mara and nodded before looking back to him. //You've been the one following Mara around, haven't you.... Why?// he asked sympathetically.
He directed his attention to Melody as she returned only to be disappointed by the presence of Alice.
Alice sighed, "So be it then. I'll let her know. I do believe she's afraid of appearing weak in times of crisis.... a feeling that has only grown since seeing you injured. And although I am in no pain, I do feel.... empty." she sighed with a frown, placing a hand on her chest. "Its an odd feeling that even I can't explain."

//...I hate to say you're right because it brings up a whole lot of more complexities that I wish wouldn't come up. Maybe that's is a bit why humans dislike magic outside of it being something we can't normally use outside of magi // she said with a frown. //Like why my dead brother is casually telling things he shouldn't be// she sighed. //being a phenomenon is the reason why so many are rushing to try and understand you all. You are like a living mutation...not through centuries but from one generation to the next. At some point I wouldn't be surprised if future generations are just a mixture of all the races minus human. It is also the major weakness if someone every finds out a way to make all true races and metas like a human...cut off from magic // she muttered, obviously something she had been thinking about often.
Looking at Alice she nodded with a frown. "...I think I am just going to go make that call..see if they haven't been investigated metas as well. " she glanced over at Leukos. //Even if you know twins who have a bond..right now we are looking for those whose sibling is gone // she thought to him as she headed to the door and paused looking toward the corner.
Ametrine turned his attention back to Leukos, obviously looking slightly confused to being addressed again. "Hoping to see her leave this life and take Tri with her. . She won't..I don't think she will until she is dead, so I'll wait for her. " he said quietly.

Leukos listened intently to her words, nodding in agreement. Understanding why she does what she does. Her reasoning and explanations showing a clear understanding for Metas even when there was little known about them. It showed the effort into the research to learn about them. Genuine research. He sighed, glancing over to Ametrine. //He hopes you'll leave.... Take Tri too. He also knows, as well as I do, that you won't. But either way he's still waiting for you.// he relay softly.
'Aww Lulu, I feel the same way about you... Never wanted you to be apart of all this chaos... Just wanted you to be a kid and actually live your life. Maybe you should consider what the guy says as well...'
Then was a frown that creased his face as he thought on what she said but shook the thought. His happiness wasn't that important. Melody and Vale were his primary concerns. And by proxy Mara, which had slowly grown into the same category as the first two, but was still developing gradually.
Alice nodded, sighing as she laid there. "....how are you holding up?..." there was a pause. "...i'm trying... it hurts less... i.... i'll be okay, please don't worry so much." Alice chuckled, "Trying so hard to act strong...I get it.."

She almost wanted to head down right now and ask Kae multiple things, but first that call and then telephone tag her favorite. Then the problem with ghosts...no, spirits. They were gone...should be gone. She shouldn't hope that Hexxis was there...but she did a littl if only for Tri. Yes she did feel some pain for Hexxis and maybe after some time Shem could actually show it but the only thing she could feel was failure and anger at that failure.
Ametrine watched him and misconstrued the look on his face. "I didn't think so..." he smiled slightly but it was pained. "It was the last thing we spoke of. Well better go...before I can't find her again. Did that once...took months to figure it where she went and that is before I died " he muttered floating through the wall after her,

Leukos perked up and looked to Melody, moving to her immediately and placing his hand on hers. "How do you feel?"
"...what happened to Hexxis... really..."
"...I don't know... we are finding o-.."
"you're a terrible liar..."
Leukos hesitated, frowned and let go of her hand, moving away. "...i have to go.. i'll be back later..." he insisted and left the room.
"Leukos, wait!" she called out but he was already gone. She frowned and covered her face with one hand. Why... why were they hiding this from her...
"Zira! Come here now!" she demanded, the small robotic girl forming by her bed. If they wouldn't tell her, she would find out on her own.

//He shouldn't be...he died that day doing the same damn thing. // she went quiet, running her hand through her hair as she moved into her office and shut the door, staring around but unable to know if he was there or not. "...You ask me to leave something that we pushed because of what happened to you ...to the metas. I'm not father ..." there was a pause as she moved to the phone. "Maybe I should have been, then Hexxis would still be alive" she said quietly, moving to sit down and look up the number and play phone tag.
Ametrine watched her silently, a faint frown creasing his brow as he listened and sighed softly. Moving up behind her to watch what she was doing as he had no way to communicate now...but know he knew the new meta, the one that seemed to be replacing Tri and who had the bouncy spirit inside of him could see him. He could actually talk to her now...in a way.

"...she's-...no..." she covered her mouth with her hand as the tears built up in her eyes. Hexxis was dead. And she couldn't do anything. They had worked hard to fight for her. Protect her. Leukos had been bitter she ran off again but now she was sure he regretted it. She should have done more to help. "...I have to figure out who killed her...
"And do what exactly?"
"Kill them."
"Are you insane?! What, you think you are going to just run off like Hexxis. Get killed just like her? Don't be an idiot."
"...it was probably Kage... It had to be..."
"Are you even listening to me? You think you'll actually win against him?! You're off your bloody rocker!!"
"I'm the only one who didn't get hurt in the attack... when he took her... I can do this!" her heart rate was increasing rapidly, a deep pain in her chest like it was being cleaved into as she grimaced.
"You were lucky! He won't go so easy on you again. So, what, you're just going to runaway? That's it, throw away everything Mara has done for you. Selfish!" Alice hissed as she pushed back, not backing down.
"Shutup! I'm tired of you telling me what to do!! Why don't you leave if you don't like it!!" there was a deeper and deeper rift between their souls as they argued, her own soul cracking as she protested Alice's pushing.
"Stop fighting me! I'm trying to help you, snap you to your senses before you do something stupid! But if you want me gone, I'll be glad to live my life peacefully at SIU with those that care about me rather than committing suicide to the same fate as my sibling."
"I have no other choice!" there were tears sliding down her cheeks in a distraught fury, the pain only deepening.
"And what about Mara... what would she think..."
Melody paused, frowning. "....I don't know..." she muttered to herself. "I have to do something."
"...get stronger..."
Melody narrowed her eyes. "I am stronger." Despite her focused mind, the cracks in her soul still splintered then slowed to a stop. She grimaced at the pain but that didn't stop her determination for answers. But all the while her heart rate had increased above normal levels, even if it was starting to slow now.

Mara sighed exhausted as she got off the phone with answers , disturbing answers but ones that fit better than the clean bill of health all the test done on Melody were turning up with. Of course there was still the bloodwork and the vial that she had sent down to be compared with Hexxis. Hexxis was still being worked on but at least they could look for markers at the very least. Great great great great greeaatt...
She rested her head on her hands as she stared down at the notes and groaned. A lot of it seems like it was just give it time, she could do that. Tell Melody when she improved or when she finally had the autopsy for Hexxis done and could tell her everything was fine ..other than Hexxis was dead. Sh**
Better make an appearance anyways... tell her everything was fine and that it will take some days. Yes that will work. Getting up she headed back toward the room, not knocking as she peeked in to see if Melody/Alice were still asleep.
Ametrine followed as always.

"..i'm.. I'm not a little kid anymore!" she yelled with anger, already removing the IV, mask, patches, ekg, everything. She was still crying but had a look of sheer determination on her face.
"I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life, but I am telling you what you're doing is stupid!"
"Shutup shutup shutup! Stop talking! Stop being here! Get out!!" she was trying to stand but the pain from her soul was almost unbearable.
"No, I'm not going to just let you leave like this!"
"I can't just sit around when I can do something!"
"You can't do anything, Melody! It's already done and you're too weak to fight him!!" she hissed angrily, disdain in her voice.
"You don't even know me!!" she exclaimed with outrage at her words. There was a sudden pause as her voice grew softer, colder. "...you don't know me at all... so stop pretending like you can protect me when you couldn't even protect your brother.... my father." Melody lowered her head as there wasn't a response now. There was nothing but silence as she pushed herself to a wobbly stand, trying to walk despite her lack of strength before a wave of pain hit her chest, her soul, cracking further as it threatened to break. She stumbled and fell to her knees, still gripping the side of the bed as she gave a muffled cry of pain into the the blanket that hung precariously from the hospital bed.

Mara stopped in front of the sliding cloth screen and frown, one hand resting on the edge as she watched Melody pull off the sensors as she shouted at Alice. Her mind flashing back to a similiar event with her father and more recently Hexxis. She shook her head rapidly, this wasn't the same but she had to step in.
As Melody hit the ground in obvious pain she took a few steps forward "Who are you going to fight?" Her voice had become icy when she had meant it to be softer and more caring. Still she went the rest of the way to Melody and crouched down, moving to try and help her back up to the bed.
Alice protect Rasiel? Well wasn't that a laugh, except those words made her feel like something important had been kept from her. No matter, what mattered now is why Melody thought she nodded to get up and fight some guy. Leukos?

Ametrine watched silently before turning away and heading toward the bright light to warn Leukos of the breaks.

Melody looked up in alarm as the voice broke the silence, immediately looking away in shame. "Kage. He has a sword. He was after Hexxis. He... He can be invisible. Why wouldn't it be him." she muttered. Looking up to Mara as she helped her back into the bed, she had a deep look of pain in her eyes. "Let me see her." she demanded softly. "I know her body is here."
Leukos sighed, "You think it might be a connection?"
"Yeah, probably. But she's dead. So my bet is it will subside. I've never seen someone die because their twin did.... But then again, some people die of a broken heart. Who knows. Souls are finicky." she spoke apathetically as she didn't even bother to look up from her work. "You see her?"
He looked a little more closely once more and frowned. "...no."
"Well.., then there's not much we can do." she shrugged and continued her focus, cutting into Hexxisc body, starting on removing organs, a bagel not too far from where she worked, already half eaten.
Leukos cringed, feeling more than uneasy at the sight, even sick to his stomach as he turned away and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. It didn't help one bit that Kae seen completely desensitized to the whole thing.

Mara froze and then frowned. "Leukos told you?" Her voice sounded angry as she helped Melody's right back into the bed. How could he? He should have known she would react badly.
"It's not Kage. I wish it was because then we would have more reason to go full force after him...if he could find him" she shook her head. "No...we don't know the specifics of who killed her. There were no fingerprints on her sword...but she was stabbed through the rib cage right where you are having problems breathing. You know her bones...had to be a power or someone's wearing gloves with super strength " she shook her head and sighed. "The problem is ..she was captured by Haven and found in the offshoot of a Haven facility. Except I officially don't know that. What I do know officially is that we received an anonymous call leading us to her body a few blocks away with the arm and legs of the guy who has been proclaiming to be her boyfriend. " she said quietly as she straightened and frowned. "Are you sure? ....it will be disturbing. I was going to wait until the autopsy is done before telling you..." she frowned as she turned the idea of Kage around in her mind. Animosity aside..there had been the mention of Kage being the one to stab (Criel) and not Ree...but the Renegades had been completely involved in that one.
Ametrine slide into the room and froze....then started to turn around and leave but Leukos was here. "Uh...kid. The girl's spirit is breaking. " sounding uncomfortable and a little panicked as he focused only on Leukos, his spirit's light rippling with discomfort and a resurgence of bad memories.
