" I guess to sum it all up Alioth and I get along just fine for the most part. Can't say I understand his life decisions but he's always let me know he is in my corner so I help him through his fallouts". He set up the pressure cooker and then had to laugh at the thought of Alioth not showing up because he was scared of Morginn and Araceae. "Haha no Alioth is the type not not give a.... he's like a more flamboyant flippant version of Florence actually. I'm not sure why he's timing his visits this way, maybe he thinks you'll disapprove of him or something. Can't say I understand what goes through his mind at times" Alrai finally managed to say after he stopped laughing. While he was figuring out how long he wanted to put the squash in, he could feel eyes on him. He wasn't sure if he should turn around or what....it's not like he really minded, although why was Morginn staring at him. Maybe it was good? Maybe he was just imagining things... maybe he should just lay attention to the squash before his tendrils turned red and totally gave away his thought process. "ah just to cook up hamburger meat and mash up the potatoes luckily they finished cooking before my mishap with the knife" he finally answered.

Morginn nodded, glad for the distraction. He mashed up the potatoes first, since it seemed like an easier job. He wasn't really good at cooking meat products and as a vegetarian he really didn't get any practice at it, but with Alrai in the kitchen hopefully he would do okay. The mental image Alrai painted of his brother made Morginn chuckle. "No fear, I already think I'll like him. Sounds like Florence will as well." He chuckled again. "Might even take to him as a kind of role model, if they hit it off mutually. You know kids, they love their parents but they tend to look up to older siblings the most." He turned his attention to the waiting potatoes. Mash it up as much as possible, add a little milk, butter, salt, and pepper, stir it all, then one last quick mashing to make sure he'd gotten everything. He didn't want to mess with them too much, since the texture could get funky if you over-mixed things. "Taste that and see if it needs more of something," Morginn said, offering the spoon he'd used to stir up the potatoes with a bite of the mashed version on it.

"Well then I will tie hm to a chair the next time that he comes over so that everyone can meet him. Well besides Arinas and viaresu." Alrai conspired. Unfortunately unlike Alrai Alioth was full fallen and would be stuck to that chair until Alrai let him go. "Sure no problem" and with out thingking what he was doing he totally just leaned down snd took a bite while Morginn was still holding the spoon. It was something Arinas often did and he had devolved the habit from his son since neither of them really cared and it kept their hands on what they were doing. Of course Morginn wasn't Arinas in any form and well that could be seen totally different when not a family member. "Ahhh no... Arinas does that and aaaaaaah" was what managed to come out as he quickly backed away. He was dooo embarrassed that he just didn't realize when he seemingly phased through the sink and the wall to their side yard. Hands over his head, he groaned. He hadn't accidentally phased through something for years. "The potatoes are fine... need a pinch more butter" he finally said through the window luckily he had opened it earlier. His hands where totslly still over his face. Yep smooth.

Morginn just grinned, that kind of grin that was on the face of someone who smiles a lot so in and of itself it's not so suspicious, but when taken into context with the conversation had a hint of cheerful conspirator to it. It would probably be one heck of a way to meet someone for the first time, but felt oddly appropriate for the family setting in the house. When Alrai leaned over and ate the mashed potatoes off the spoon as Morginn held it, Morginn didn't really think twice about it. Perhaps it was just his nature to view it so, but the entire gesture felt kind of natural. Never mind that this was the first time they'd ever been cooking in the kitchen together, nor had Morginn ever tried to feel Alrai before. He was actually in the process of turning back to the pot of potatoes so he could tidy the area a little and give Alrai time to think about what he'd eaten. Suddenly Alrai just got this very flustered look on his face, blushing and offering an explanation for his action. Morginn actually stared a little, feeling a blush creep across his cheeks for no other reason than Alrai was blushing. Then Alrai backed entirely through the sink and kitchen wall to outside. Morginn just kept staring, feeling quite speechless. He could see Alrai through the kitchen window. He buried his face in his hands, groaning a bit, then came a muffled suggestion to add some more butter. That was pretty much it. Morginn didn't burst into deep belly laughter, but he did start a round of giggling that threatened to devolve to that point. His face was flushed, though it was hard to say what was from self-consciousness and what was from the giggles. He actually had to bend over with his arms on the counter, face buried against them, and wings spread so they half-hid him. This probably went on for a solid thirty seconds before he managed to straighten, face still flushed and tears of mirth at the corners of his eyes. "More butter, got it," he said in a breathless voice, the ghost of more laughter in his tone. He went over to the stove, wings and antennae still quivering, and added some more butter to the pot. While waiting for it to melt he went over to the sink to rinse off the spoon.

Ugh this day was going so splendidly. Not only did he had to deal with his parents, he was being a fluffbrain. If his father wasn’t in the hospital, he was so tempted to call up and leave a nasty message for ruining his whole day. Why had he just assumed Morginn would take it for something it clearly wasn’t. He didn’t blame the Fey for laughing, not one bit. After all he probably would have ended up laughing as well if he weren’t too busy groaning in mortification. Ah well at least Morginn looked cute laughing. Still it wouldn’t make due to just keep standing her in the yard. As a hybrid phasing his whole body and hovering was doable but it took a lot of effort or flusterness. Since he was obviously not functioning on all cylinders today he was not just going to phase back through the wall and risk getting stuck half way through. Thus he sighed, walking over to the side entrance door, his head in his hands the whole way. “Be inside again in a second.”Okay breathe in. Breathe out. He couldn’t just declare the day over with and go to bed. He had a dinner to prepare after all. He did make a mental note to make sure that Araceae or the kids never found out what happened today…. ever.

"Good, cause otherwise we're never getting the squash out of that pot," Morginn replied cheerily...and truthfully. He wasn't sure if Araceae or Arinas knew anything about the pressure cooker, but since neither was home at the moment the survival of the squash depended on Alrai. He preoccupied himself with stirring the butter into the potatoes. Hopefully that would do it! With a slight wrinkle to his nose he turned his attention towards the hamburgers. Handling the meat wasn't really pleasant, but thankfully the skillet was big enough that he'd only have to make two rotations to get everything cooked. Morginn went back to the sink and carefully washed his hands while the meat sizzled in the pan. "You might have to supervise the hamburgers. I'll probably end up burning them otherwise, just to make sure they're cooked through," he said with a bit of an embarrassed blush. "Sorry I'm not much help. It's a shame "kiss and make better" isn't an actual form of magic, it would probably serve way better than volunteering as a kitchen aide," he said with a laugh, totally serious. Okay, maybe mostly serious and partially for fun. Flirting was fun. He wasn't sending out potential feelers, nope!

“It’s set up so that Arinas could rescue it when he got home” Alrai replied as he walked back in the kitchen. During the short one and a half minute walk he seemingly had pulled himself together again. “Although knowing that boy he would totally chicken out and call Araceae.”
Let’s see he had gotten the cheese out already. The corn was already sitting there with its cream sauce mixed in. Butter was out due to the mash potatoes. He needed to get out the pan to put in the microwave. Normally you were supposed to bake it, but microwave sufficed and he didn’t want to handle the oven at the moment and pull all the pans that were hiding inside it out.
“Your kitchen aide skills are totally fine. You are doing way better than Arinas and Araceae the first time they cooked. I still to this day don’t know how Ara set water on fire. However you could always try the kiss and make it better.” Alrai found himself saying with a slight smirk. “You can’t be absolutely sure of something until you try it,” and like he had just been asking Morginn about the weather he turned and added some seasoning with his good hand into the meat.

Morginn looked over at Alrai, taken aback for a few seconds. Then his mouth shifted to a smile, slightly crooked. One eyebrow lowered and the other remained cocked up. His widened eyes shifted to half-lidded and glancing sidelong at Alrai. His antennae relaxed and his wings fluttered. If there was ever a look that said "challenge accepted", this was it. "Well if you insist. I'd feel awful just leaving you in pain if a kiss would actually work healing magic," he said, voice pitched a bit lower than usual and with an undertone that sounded almost like a purr. It was almost like a moment out of a book. A somewhat quirky book, perhaps. Alrai towered over Morginn, so that side by side the top of Morginn's head was probably even with Alrai's collar bone. His build was more toned slender than muscular, but Morginn was also slender and of softer build; side-by-side Alrai probably did look muscular in comparison. So going down on one knee to increase dramatic delivery was a bit out of the question. Regardless, Morginn delicately took Alrai's hand in his. He bent his head and kissed the back, very much a Prince Charming moment. Then he turned Alrai's hand palm up, and laid another gentle kiss over the bandages. He peered up at Alrai through his bangs, still holding his hand. "What's the diagnosis," he asked, still with that lower voice register. All quite deliberate, mind you. Nasaiki I feel like, if you think we're close to wrapping this up, that this should be the moment Florence and Fiore walk in and spot them. And this is what fuels their quest to get these two together XD

Alrai felt like he was in for it now, but was teasing someone without the danger of getting it dished back to you. It actually made what was to happen more exciting in a way, especially since Morginn totally looked like a person who had very much accepted a challenge. Alrai blinked slowly as he focused his gaze on Morginn’s face. “I do in fact insist, since I would hate for you to feel awful.” Alrai found himself saying. Morginn actually sounded pretty good at a lower pitch. He bit the inside of his cheek lightly to keep from smiling at the whole scene as Morginn raised his hand to kiss it. Alrai hardly looked like a princess or a lady. “Hmm well I …” alrai started and then trailed off as there was a sudden thud. Looking over to the other entry to the kitchen was Fiore whose expression at the moment was unreadable. It was the same look Araceae got before she decided something crazy. Alrai had a really bad feeling. Really bad feeling, especially since he refused to suddenly say ‘this isn’t what it looks like’ “Uh welcome home”
