If Fiona hadn't heard so many comments akin to what Arin was telling her, she might have flushed under the compliment. Instead, she offered him a smile and bumped her shoulder against his arm. "I only do what I can, it's easier when I've got people like Cordelia...and you." He might have been a new addition to her little handpicked family, but he was undeniably part of it.
"Time doesn't always permit for a decent breakfast," she hummed, checking on the eggs. "But if you ever want to cook, or help with a meal, I'll probably let you. I just might hover." Like this time, she was a hoverer, she couldn't help it.
"Me too," she quipped, the eggs nearly the perfect level of cooked for her preference. A few more seconds and she could remove them from heat and ease them onto a plate before she flipped the burner off and set the pan off on an unused one.
"Look at us, a good team don't you think?"

"At one point I know I had been thinking about frozen fruit sorted out for smoothies in the morning. I don't remember how far I got with the idea, but... You cook up a lot of things you want to do for breakfast when you're stuck in a boarding school with a hellish kitchen." He smirked, snagging a plate to pull the sausage patties off of the heat, setting it down alongside the plate of pancakes. "We do make a very good team in the kitchen, Fiona. We should pencil in home cooked breakfasts every now and then-- Maybe after morning jogs if you wake me up to go with you next time? I've got to start getting myself back into shape if I'm going to head out into the real world again." Not that it hadn't been nice, spending time at home and having others check in on him... But he hadn't gone through all of this just to stay inside. He wanted to be out there trying to make a difference too.

When Arin talked about his past, what he could remember, it reminded Fiona of how little she knew of the man. This whole arrangement had been built from her trust in Cordelia and her belief that Arin was a good man, because Fiona liked to think that she was a good judge of character and that her partner was too.
"If you'd like to get fixings for smoothies, we can." She offered. It would be easy, especially since she probably needed to do some grocery shopping soon.
Nodding at the suggestion, she took a moment to look over everything that they'd made. "That all sounds lovely," her blue and green eyed gaze drifted back over to Arin, chin tipping so she could properly meet his eye. "Whenever you're ready."

"Well, I can tell you that right now I'm ready for breakfast." He flashed her a grin as he picked up the plates, ready to follow her over to wherever they would be eating. "We can make plans to eat healthy when we haven't just finished putting together a big breakfast for two... " When the plates were set down he paused to glance up to her. What can I get you to drink out of the fridge, Fiona?"

There was a table near the door to the back patio that was a decent size, made for at least six people to fit around comfortable and not knock elbows, so Fiona led Arin towards that, pulling out a chair and settling into it with one leg tucked beneath her.
At some point, Fiona had snagged her water bottle from it's spot on the counter and held it up to her companion when asked if she wanted a drink. "I've got it covered, but thank you."
Fiona hadn't lived with someone else in quite a while, but it was nice, doing something as sharing a meal with someone she felt like she could consider a friend. "Come on, better eat while it's all still fresh."

When everything had made its way to the table along with them he finally sat down, letting out a deep, satisfied breath that he hadn't realized he'd been holding. Things like this, little things that made all of the difference, were something that he could find himself getting used to. Having friends? Cooking breakfasts? Conversations while enjoying a meal? He took a sip of the juice he'd poured for himself before picking up his fork. He lifted it to Fiona with a smile on his face. "Bon appetite."
