Chris smiled sadly at Isaiah, again not for himself but because he knew this man had so much already that burdened him. The thought of adding to that burden wasn’t something that Chris wanted. But he greatly appreciated everything that Isaiah had to offer him, the suggestion of reaching out to someone other than order definitely one he didn’t hear often. “Thank you, Isaiah. I’m glad I was able to meet you,” he said quietly as he reached out to take the offered napkin with his number. “I’ll give you a call shortly. I want to try and meet up with him as soon as possible, if you’re okay with that. There’s,” he paused with a small, guilty wince. “I’m afraid I’m running out of time,” Chris admitted quietly, hoping that Isaiah wouldn’t regret the suggestion of Chris’s friend reaching out for help. “I do need help… whatever I can get, I’ll take. I won’t go into details right now, but I really do appreciate the offer to go with you,” he said, watching Isaiah’s expression earnestly, some desperation in his eyes with the hope that maybe, with Isaiah’s and Caedus’s help, they would be able to help figure out a way to fix his starseed, or at least stop it from getting worse. Slowly, Chris stood from the table, holding out a hand in thanks, not knowing what else to do to show his gratitude. Chris was more or less a complete stranger to Isaiah, and yet Isaiah had decided to reach out to him with the vague thought that he looked familiar. Perhaps things weren’t as bleak as Chris sometimes thought they were.Strickenized Thank you! That would be great! I would be totally up for starting something, if you’d like? A little backdated of course, if that’s okay!

Isaiah offered a lenient shrug. "You can call me whenever you need to. I own my business, so I have the right to leave whenever I want." The statement was mostly true, though Vargas often lodged complaint with him whenever he failed to show up to work or took off for long periods of time. He supposed the day encroached when he needed to sell the buisness to his GM and change career paths again. But those were considerations beyond the scope of their conversation, and Isaiah reminded himself to focus more keenly on the topic.
He accepted the offered hand in a shake, though he disliked the way in which his fingers overlapped where his ring finger once existed. Thus, he kept the shake brief, and resisted the often pervasive urge to wipe his hand on his jacket afterward. Chris wasn't a bad man, he knew, and probably wasn't carrying gono-herpe-syphil-AIDS on his hands alone. He did, however, tuck his hand into his pocket so he could scrape fingernails down the prickling skin privately. "Try to take care of yourself, Chris. And your friend." Doubt remained that the friend existed. Still, the mention alone was enough to displace the conversation into easier grounds for broaching.
Sticking around seemed ill-advised after holding a serious conversation with another knight. Isaiah needed some time apart from talk of the Negaverse, and of Caedus. He wanted time to cool out from the invasive anger he felt toward the otherworldly man, especially if he intended to visit him with Valhalla and seek some answers.
When Isaiah left, he did so after offering Chris an easy smile; he gained at least that much back from Schörl's assaults. He skirted many patrons upon leaving the place, and as the door shut behind him with the soft ring of a bell, he breathed out the accumulating stress from the visit. Their alter egos had a habit of complicating themselves beyond reason, as both he and Chris learned not long ago. Maybe he truly had no business participating in such a war.
Maybe Caedus had answers for that.guine fin! i can write up the start for us after i get through old tags and some orp things
