"Poetry" Without hesitation, he made it known what he was here for. "I like poetry... and I like building things so..." Mahmud looked at the signs and tried to make out what was where, but there was just so much stuff in this place... it made it near impossible to locate anything. But Harpommy was a big help, gently pecking some sections she thought would be of use. After a few moments of looking, he gave up and sighed. "This is really confusing... would Poetry be fiction, or..."
Determined to seem a little self sufficient, the boy began making a bee-line to the shelves there, poking his head in and out and all around. There sure were some weird books in here... everything from ancient Alternian languages to... "... Astronomy, Quadrants, and You: An Astral Guide to Your Perfect Five." Mentioning quadrants was something that made him giggle, being immature and all, and he held up the book to Hemera to show. "Do people actually believe in this? What do stars have to do with quadrants?" It sure seemed silly, but if someone was to know, Hemera sure would. After all, she was much older and wiser.

"Oh! Poetry is its own section. Unless you want epic poems. Those might be in other aisles, but if you mean books of poetry without long narratives, I can direct you to that section." Unless he was tenacious enough to read Beowlf, and bless him if he was. No problem if he wanted something lighter, though.
Mera, as the kid looked about, noted all the romance novels in the new releases. Honestly? She would rather read an actual manual on diffusing bombs. Ugh. Not finding much of note besides an autobiography on Troll Tim Gunn (which she snagged immediately) she followed after Mahmud.
He pulled out a book from the astrology section, and... Well. Mera took the book from him gently in one hand and put it back. "It's pure garbage." And with that, she continued on her way.Skyli Peep It's all fun and games until Mercury is in retrograde

There was stunned silence as Hemera declared a book rubbish and put it away, and then walked off. For real, how did one respond to that? But if Mera said it was trash, it likely was. After all, she seemed to be quite an authority on books. She knew exactly where the poetry was!
He followed closely behind her, with Harpommy bringing up the rear, "Well um... I like Slam Poetry. But I'm no good at it so... I thought reading any kind would... be... woah." She sure wasn't kidding; Poetry was a huge section, and it fascinated Mahmud. So many trolls already writing poetry... so much for him to see... His voice was quiet, even more so than it was already, as he eeked out "And all of this is free? For real?" With that he scrambled to the shelves, peeling off books, any books, and stacking them in his arms. They ranged in subject, complexity, genre... any kind of books he could grab he did, and put them on a nearby table. As the stack grew higher and higher, his face brightened more and more, until he couldn't reach the top of his own pile! By that point, his eyes were starting to water, and he wiped at them with the back of his wrist.
Once he had composed himself (which was all said and good, considering he got emotional over books) Mahmud gave a little bow of his head to Hemera and smiled at her. "Thank you... this is amazing. Thank you, Hemera... I hope you find your friend soon. They're lucky to have someone like you."

"It's all free. Just make sure to stop at the front desk to check them out and get a library card. They'll be due back in a bit so if you really like anything I would suggest taking notes or using a copy machine for some pages." Goodness, it was smart of her to remember to mention that! What if he toddled on out with the books? She would have been mortified! But he would be fine, now.
She smiled more at the bow. "And thank you for your company, Mahmud. You're a delight." For now, she wanted to sit down. "I will be over here. If you are going to head out, have a good one, all right?"
Mera was satisfied with her night. And, lord, no one was going to get between her and a one-on-one with troll Tim Gunn.
