Watching her companion think so hard to identify her sphere made Jada laugh with delight. Not malicious, just a genuine joy in so simple a thing as being able to stump a new friend. Or ally. Or whatever the other senshi would wind up being. It was a mystery, and a surprising relief to have had someone at her side again in combat. Patrolling alone was lonely business, if free.

"What kind of technology?" she asked with interest, sliding in closer to the other woman for shared warmth from the bitter chill. "I propose a trade- I can show you Scylla, and the fossilized Kraken, and you can take me on my first trip to another senshi homeworld. I have been to the surroundings, but never to a white moon knight wonder or planet. I went on a mirror walk a few times, before the Dark Moon." Alexandros. Ares. Laocoon. Zirconia. Before that had all changed.

"As for how it all started..." Scylla's smile was wry. "Not all of it. I am old, but not that old. Not quite among the first. It had all been going on behind the scenes before I Awakened. I have heard them say the Negaverse had been going even before the first if the new senshi was awakened, but... The war was well on its way before they dragged me into it." Maybe 6 months after it had all begin? So she was certainly among the longer-serving, if only time was considered.

Scylla moved closer and Ida couldn’t help being aware of the small space and the woman she shared it with. The senshi of the Kraken wasn’t just pretty, she was gorgeous, and while she felt a thrill at the attention focused on her, she was also acutely aware that they were from entirely different realms. Ida was the pretty, quiet girl in class who wasn’t exceedingly popular. Scylla was… Scylla.

It was a little bit distracting, actually, but Ida managed to catch most of what she was saying, enough to bright up considerably at the offer of a trade. Talking about her planet brought a new light to her already glowing (literally) face and an animation that had her hands gesturing in front of her to describe what she was talking about.

“Idan technology is plant based! I find it really fascinating and wonderful, but rather than metals and electricity and plastic, they had everything… grown out of plants. The energy radiated by the planet was collected by the plants there and they could store and exchange it like electricity. They developed a way to create technology from that, and my tower is full of medical equipment, computers, and a ton of stuff I have no idea what its for. The energy the planet gives off also promotes plant growth, making it mature faster, grow larger, and last longer than here on Earth, so rather than build a computer, you could grow the parts using tools that concentrated the radiant energy…” She said, forcing herself to stop when she realized she was all but tripping over herself. “I’m sorry. Get me started and I swear I can talk forever about it. I would be so happy to take you there to see it all, and I would love, so much, to see Scylla.”

It was hard to remember, in the face of her excitement, that they had been talking history as well, but the other senshi had already admitted to not being there, or apparently knowing all too much, about the start of it all in modern times. Oh well. It was an interesting subject to pursue, but maybe not vital to their work now. That had, after all, been over six years ago and a lot had changed in the war in that time, from what she knew.

“When are you free to come and visit? I need a couple of days to recharge before I can go again and I can wiggle the timing to make sure I’m ready when you have time.”

Ida brightened up, much like the flower that seemed to be her sphere (and not just the tattoos), and Scylla leaned towards her warmth, naturally responsive to such things. "That is actually kind of fascinating, as technology goes. It sounds surprisingly advanced, for magic. I always thought the Mauvians were the most technologically advanced of that time, but for Ida to have had computers-" she shook her dark head, curls flailing.

"Scylla was downright primitive in comparison. The water and the magnetic fields that kept the mountains floating disrupted so much of it. But we had undersea fortresses, and villages that grew on the backs of giant creatures, just like in the movies. We used simpler tools." Andromache's body had been all the weapon she needed, the simple swords she had used merely instruments. The memories of combat that slid through her mind, the times her body twitched with a muscle memory ingrained in her soul, when she was in a memory. She had felt... competent. Vibrant. Fierce. Free.

Her chin lifted, and Scylla's eyes flashed briefly, though not with anger. "Never apologize for finding joy in something. Not to me, Ida. This job drains all the joy out of you it can. Revel in what little you may find. Never be sorry." True joy was a fruit that Scylla hadn't tasted in years, and the thought someone had to apologize for it... "Civilian life, powered life, take it as you find it. It's all too short, and when it's gone... the memory is all that remains to mark its passing. Like magic."

Swallowing, Scylla considered when she could make herself available to the other woman. After a moment, she decided, "I'm fairly flexible? I usually go to Scylla on Wednesday nights, and then Saturday nights I usually don't power up. I have busy weekends, usually, so unless you let me know well in advance, I'd have to say no on those." her red lips curved, eyes crinkling. "I have a fairly flexible schedule. My career isn't... traditional."

It was stiff competition for Ida’s attention between stories of her planet and the warmth of a pretty woman standing tantalizingly close. Her planet won out, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t a bit flustered and erratic as she talked. She took the assurances not to appologize in stride and centered herself, trying to remind herself there was nothing to be so nervous about. Excited, yes.

“I don’t think there is anything wrong with primitive, and I’m sure you could argue that Ida was primitive in some aspects. They did not have much for warriors or fighters. Most of the planet was devoted to healing, so protection was left to the moonbase on Dactyl and Sailor Ida’s brother, Sailor Dactyl. Ida was a healer.” She clasped her hands, trying not to shift too much and accidentally bump into Scylla… which would have prompted such embarrassment on her part. “We didn’t have floating islands or giant Kraken. We only had small animals, and a lot of plants. No large bodies of water either, and sparse rain. It was good for patients who needed a temperate climate, but Scylla sounds far more exciting and fascinating.”

“What about Thursday?” Ida said, tapping a finger against her chin. “Then we can go to Scylla the next wednesday? That should give me enough time to be ready. Ah! I’m so excited now.”

As Ida spoke, Scylla found relaxed, the chill of the air bothering her less and less, arms and legs and hips swinging to help her stay warm, her hair firmly left in place to protect her bare back from growing icicles. "Scylla was forced to be a planet of warriors," she admitted with a laugh, "Our entire world basically wanted us dead." the mortality rate had been high.

A world devoted to healing sounded wonderful, and Scylla couldn't hide the soft wistfulness that drifted over her face. "Scylla was beautiful, I think. But wouldn't everyone find their planet to be so?" she couldn't imagine someone not loving it, even as they mourned what it had become, and the flaws inherent to its society.

"Thursday would be fine," she chirped with a smile, beaming at the other woman's obvious excitement, "I will look forward to it. I would maybe bring a towel with you. My planet has been getting a bit persnickety with where it drops me." her laugh was quick and easy. "You may get a little damp."

”Ah… yeah I’ve heard some of the planets and wonders were like that.” Ida said, some of her excitement dimming to seriousness and thought. The ones she had been to had been more or less gentle places… Hvergelmir was silent marble with the well at the center, Shangri-la had been great stone temples surrounded by lush forrests and roaring waterfalls. Elvira had been cold and white, but warmed by its greenhouses. “But I don’t know… I think that makes Scylla beautiful in its own way. Like how a lion or a leopard is beautiful, or a shark.”

She flashed a small smile with just a hint of teasing. “I’m probably biased enough to say that Ida is one of the most beautiful places that I’ve ever been, though.”

Ida brought them to a stop finally, as Scylla agreed to a day. It left her practically buzzing with excitement as she rocked up on the balls of her feet… at least until the other senshi commented about landings and needing a towel. Surely she… didn’t mean in the ocean? A line formed between Ida’s brows as she chewed the inside of her lip. Hopefully that’s not what she meant. She’d have to bring it up before the way and see if they could… direct their landing. Or something. She’d had mixed results with that attempt herself.

“I’ll see you thursday then. Is seven pm okay? Out by the park on Grand and Lexington. We can leave from there.”

Ida flushed and teased, and Scylla reacted in kind, leaning in with casual intent to share the comfort with someone who was open with her. "I haven't been to many places, so I can't say for sure. I don't remember much about the specifics of other worlds- I have a few names I remember a little of, but for alliances and the like, I'm still a bit in the dark. Memories are all so piecemeal." she sighed softly.

Her lips quirked though, eyes crinkling. "I will look forward to seeing it, then. A little bias is always acceptable. I look forward to seeing it for myself."

Was there anything else she should do to warn the other senshi? A towel was all she could think of- Jada kept sunscreen on-planet, and anything electricity-based was pretty much done for before it started by sheer lack of infrastructure, though battery-powered items were always a possibility. So no laptops, but flashlights or battery-powered radios.

"Seven is fine," she agreed easily, and opened up her bag, pulling out one of the resumes she had been looking at. Uncapping her pen, she scribbled on the back, 7, Th, GrandLexPk. "Should I bring anything with me?"

Scylla leaned in and Ida pushed down the flutter it gave her, smiling wider instead. She watched her scribble a note about the meeting time before the orchid senshi raised a hand in a parting wave.

“You don’t need to bring anything. There isn’t really anything you’ll need while there, but you’re welcome to bring anything you want to have with you.” She said. “I’ll see you thursday then! Have a good night, Scylla.”

Ida offered a bright smile before she turned to go, a new lightness to her step and something to look forward to.
