Having finished off his battle with one - which he thanked his pelt for, having been just as dark, though his mane and tail glowed - he came out wounded, but not direly. Not that the adrenaline pumping through him would have allowed him the chance to pause, instead he rounded on Tethys and at the Captains shout he obeyed immediately. Again, he saw the incredible night move to crowd the pale lion now flipped to his back and exposing his gut, a foolish but necessary action.
"Damn it." Iloziya huffed and with grand effort carried himself close enough to hurl himself at the black demon who was descending upon Tethys. Pairs, fight in pairs. He understood this now, more than ever and though his intentions were pure in trying to aid he had left his own back open in the efforts to toss the beast to the side as well as Tethys - though he imagined the lion would right himself.
"You demons stay the hell offa him."
He gritted his teeth and bared them to his enemy that he'd decidedly pressed up against the rock wall just narrowly missing the heap of a shadow that had been taken down. Iloziya let a low rumble in his throat, narrowed his eyes and stared into the blazing red eyes of one of the attackers who had seemed to simply accept fate before making use of a free paw. A roar like cry escaped Iloziya as he felt the paw creep across his pelt, claws out enough to scrape and before he could react they had plunged their way into his flesh and pull free allowing warm, sticky blood to drain and a stinging sensation to rock him. He didn't wait to feel another reaction though and twisted his foe in such a way that a snapping sound could be heard from his neck - no easy feat, but doable.
Then he whipped around to face the direction the enemies had seemingly approached from at first, though now they seemed to crawl from all directions..

A string of expletives had escaped from his lips as he threw yet another of the beasts away. He could be thankful for his godbourne size for the unnatural strength he seemed to be capable of summoning at this precise moment in time. Though it might have been mostly due to the adrenaline, he was certainly able to throw them reasonably far. Nevertheless he took his opening as Iloziya pulled one of them away and immediately righted himself.
...They wouldn't be ripping open his stomach today.
His captain's orders made sense to him though and rather than dwell on them, he instead spun round and leapt on top of the next shadow that had made way for the lion who had bought him some much needed time. Unlike Iloziya however, he felt no need to stare into the eyes of the thing underneath his paws. The longer they met their assailants' gazes, the easier it would be to get an opening... Maybe that was the entire point.
Snap.
He twisted the beast's neck to the side and threw himself backwards again, ramming his shoulders hard into the shadow that had been cast on his back. He wasn't going to let himself get pounced again, though he hoped Iloziya would have the capacity to stop staring at his opponents. If he wanted to stare at the corpses he could do it later.
"Kill first, ask questions when we're not dead!" Tethys ordered as he unceremoniously stamped his paws repeatedly onto the jaw and face of the lion he'd managed to grapple.
Fortunately the cries did seem to be lessening and there were flickers of normal Vikings sweeping across the expanse to assist others as it seemed the numbers of assailants dwindled.
It hadn't been a huge band...It had just been a silent one.
Though with Tethys and Iloziya seemingly embroiled (and apparently still 'able'), those who had dealt with their guests had selected other more in need brothers' to assist...

The mistake was made only once - the eyes were burned into his memory along with the sensation of his side which burned in agony.
Snap. Back to reality.
Ziya spun 'round to witness the other attackers being put down - his kill count was much lower than he had anticipated and although his side had taken the largest damage he was beginning to notice small wounds as he moved to meet up with Tethys. This was a lesson learned that he hadn't needed, but a lesson he couldn't ignore.
Golden eyes lifted to the sky that had begun to brighten, where had that light been moments ago? He scoffed at the timing, but returned to the now.
"Who were they." It wasn't really a question, he was sure no one there knew the answer - it was almost guaranteed. Yet he couldn't help posing it.

The lion spat out what appeared to be fragments of his tooth and cast a disgruntled stare towards Ziya. He wasn't angry at him, but at the moment he really didn't have anywhere constructive to redirect his anger to. Now that they seemed to have disposed of the last of their assailants, he had taken note of the rising sun and couldn't help but feel just a touch bitter. Where was that when they had needed it?
Still, as the light swept across the shores the paler male could do nothing more than shake his head.
"I don't know," he lied as he strode towards the fallen youths to see if, by any miracle, some had survived. "If we had known, then this would have been avoidable," he murmured and rolled one of the youths over. He was most definitely dead, and there was a high probability that the rest had also suffered the same fate...
"Take a count," The Captain's voice cut through the air. "We send them off and then we go home."
The sound of defeat in his voice would not be easily forgotten.
