"Oh, ok," she replied to his order, pausing to collect bits and pieces as she made her way along the corridor. The pelt bag she'd found was slung about her neck and filled as far as it was safe to do so. Her forepaws were decorated with a number of different bangles and, precariously balanced across her shoulders, were two strips of rather pretty pelts. The feathers and shells, she mostly ignored, deciding to go for the more extravagant pieces that she could find. Still, in the end, she had to stop looking to avoid temptation of adding more to her collection.
If she had noticed the strange tone that Tethys had replied in, she made no verbal note, though perhaps her paws carried her a little quicker than necessary through the cavern maze.
Using her nose, she tried to sniff out fresh air and seek an exit that would take her back onto the shore.
"I won't be able to get back the way I came very easily with what I have so far. I'll look for a different exit and meet you back outside - if you're done with this round, anyway."
She stumbled a little and had to pause to shrug the pelts back across her shoulders, then followed her nose up another dark tunnel. "I may have found a way out. The air is smelling fresher here."

"Maybe next time we should play marco polo," Tethys's normal tone had returned and he could be seen carefully lowering a series of jewel laden pelts down to the awaiting thrall. He had obviously had an easier time of getting out and had managed to summon a number of them to his position. It was taking him some time, but he was working at a reasonable enough rate and the pace was manageable for the thralls as well.
"I'll stand in one spot and you can attempt to use me as a beacon?" he added, he could just about see her from the exit she had managed to find. Whatever had spooked him was gone for the time being and he took the opportunity to pause and admire the view. Quite frankly, whether the lioness realised it or not, she looked rather comical.
"Oh aren't you a vision of beauty," he teased. "Could you even bend your knees right now or are they just there for show?" he asked, finally sliding down another pelt of jewels. He would need to make another trip inside, but in order to do that he was going to need for a few of the pelts to be tossed back up to be used as bags again.

"Maybe we should," Xochi huffed, following his voice and findign herself pleased that it was, indeed, getting closer. A few moments later and she emerged back into the sunlight, blinking at the intensity of the light outside. Had the sun always been so bright? She craned her neck to peer over at where Tethys had emerged and frowned back at his teasing, breaking into laughter a moment later.
Ok, so maybe she had gone overboard a little, but hey, this was her first Viking and there had been so much pretty things to take! She didn't want to leave it behind in case she never found her way back to the same part again.
"Just for show," she said, lifting a leg in turn without bending them. "The disadvantage of being able to walk properly will be worth it when I get all this stuff back home." she took an unsteady step forwards and almost toppled over, gripping the rock with her claws. She glared at him and before he could say anything, said: "I know, I know, I'll let one of the thralls help. I'm not going to wear all of this on the way back."
A pause.
"Just some of it." She grinned, "after all, think of the attention we'll get when we walk back into the pride looking all dressed up! You will be getting dressed up, too, right?"

He had thought about it, and his facial expression seemed to say as much... However now that she had shown herself off with quite a lot of trinkets, he had been struck by a sudden wave of genius.
"Oh rest assured that I will be dressing up," he replied as he disappeared back inside the cave to retrieve more of the treasure. "Really dressing him, they'll never have seen anything like it," he added as he came back out with more trinkets and cast the pelt down towards expectant paws. Truth be told, it was highly likely his Captain would give him a very level stare and then do what he always did.
...He was just going to let Tethys do his thing.
Suffice it to say, the Captain had always been inclined to do as much. So long as his band performed well and allowed the warlord first pick of treasures, he would then divvy everything up accordingly. If Tethys wanted to strut in covered from head to toe to the point that he looked like some sort of walking statue, then by all means...
It would be up to Tethys to put up with any of the comments!

She beamed at his response and, with great care, began to pick her way down the rocks and back to the shore where a thrall hurried to relieve her of some of her treasures. For a moment she thought about going back inside but, it felt good to be out in the open again and she wasn't sure she could face going back inside just yet.
Who knew, maybe they'd be this way again sometime. There was bound to be more waiting for them.
"So long as you don't outshine me, you can wear as many trinkets as you like," she called up to him, laughing and shaking her limbs as the many decorations were removed from paws and neck. This had been a good raid, indeed, with all the treasures they had found. And it was only then, looking back at the caves, that she felt a little sad for the lionesses who had once lived here. What had become of them?
Either way, wherever they were, they wouldn't need their trinkets now. Why leave them to go to waste?

"I'm not gentleman enough to let you take the lime light," he smirked and leapt from his vantage point, taking the last of the pelts with him. "If I'm going to do this, I'm going to really make a statement," he remarked and glanced over his shoulder towards the red female.
"You can be as tasteful if you want, I'm going to be a littering statue," he preened as he made his way back to the group.. He was curious as to what each of the crew would be able to source. They hadn't returned yet, but they would in due time and then he could compare his haul versus theirs.
Credit where it was due though, she might be wearing a chunk of it, but Xochi had brought back a fair amount herself!
