Bitti's Old Post Mot smiled widely. Yes she was getting this fairly well. Maybe he really should teach her swing, he thought. It would be so nice to have a dance partner for it. However, they were both proven wrong as s**t started to hit the fan. One Prom goer taken out, another and another. Mot hel a hand over his mouth, trying not to laugh.
Things seemed okay, and he moved to her again just as she was tripping over herself. He swiftly held out his arms to catch the ghoul, laughing a bit. "Master forgives you." He joked lightly.
"Methinks you are not ready for swing."

Mot looked like he was trying not to laugh, and Amarus could not remember why. I was funny??? Amarus thought, to herself. What in halloween had happened, then? She used to make him laugh so often. She couldn't remember him laughing at anything she had done, after this night. No wonder this was one-sided.
She found herself in his arms, however, as he had apparently and she remembered this now tried to catch her. From some disastrous accident, no doubt. She was, however, surprised she had failed-- and then speechless. "I am ready," she said, "I would not fail twice. Please, Mot-- teach me, some day."

Bitti's Old Post Well she sure seemed bent on learning it now that he said she couldn't. She kind of reminded him of Hel, which both amused him and made him sad. Very sad. He really, really missed Hel, as stubborn and bull headed as she was.
He shook his head, not letting that fog his evening.
He stared wide eyed as the shoes were tossed half-hazzardly across the room. "Well um... let us not stick around to find out." He suggested, taking her hand and moving across the dance floor to a different area.
"Okay. Let's try swing." With that, he cautiously went through a basic run down, demonstrating on his own before trying to get her to do it with him. "I'll catch you when you fall."

Mot opened his eyes wide, staring, and Amarus couldn't remember why. Find out what? Oh. Oh, she remembered. Quickly, she took off her shoes and threw them in the direction he'd been staring. So what if she was a bit late? "Very impractical," she said. Yeah. Sounded authentic.
Why had he looked sad, for a moment?
Amarus squeezed his hand, lightly. So much contact, it had been a very long while since she had let anyone touch her. It felt like her ghostly skin was on fire; she was so glad, in that moment, she kept mostly corporeal as a rule.
"Really? We'll try?" she said, surprised. Slipping back into her current self, away from her former self. She could not help it. I'll catch you when you fall. "Mot... thank you. I believe you," she said. And she meant it. For this one night, this memory, he would catch her.
Wait a second. He said when not if? Well, that was less flattering than she'd initially thought.

Bitti's Old Post Amarus's attempt at a joke was only funny because it was so lame. He cracked a smile regardless. "If you take me down? Hmm." He shrugged. "I suppose I will have to deal with it."
Like he'd expected she fell around a bit, but he was right there to pick her back up and try again. "Nonsense. This is fun." He insisted, leading her around some more. "I'm not terribly worried about who's watching. As long as we're both enjoying ourselves."
Mot smiled and gave a soft chuckle at her question, giving her a little spin. "Not as often as I'd like to."

Trying to piece together what had happened based on Mot's lines was incredibly difficult for her. Not to mention the dancing. Thankfully, however, that was at least a little easier the second time over. She couldn't help but laugh, though.
Maybe she should take this advice. Relax, and have fun. Live it this once and let it go. Who got to live precious memories twice, after all? Who got to see people they cared about one more time, even after they were gone?
"It is the most fun," she agreed, "and if anyone is watching we will blind them with the brilliance of our dancing," she said.
The spin startled her, and she laughed again, blissful. It was easier and easier to forget that this was the past.

Bitti's Old Post "Fairly different. You might need a partner who knows what they're doing." That wasn't to say she couldn't try though. Practice makes perfect, after all.
Mot smiled and laughed, spinning the ghoul a couple more times since she seemed to enjoy it so much. It made him happy that she seemed to be enjoying herself. "It stops mattering when you have fun." Mot assured her, dancing in circles throughout the crowd. Really this had been good for them both.
He stopped soon after she asked if he was tired, catching his breath after all the movement. "Actually I am a bit tired." He said with a chuckle. "How about a drink?" The sweet smell from the refreshment table wafted over like a siren calling, though it was mixed in blessings. A lovely spread, but the faint scent of cinnamon was detected. At first he thought maybe Hel was around, since she often smelled of the spice.
No, probably not Hel. Though he wondered if she would show.
"Punch?" He asked, leading her to the punch bowl. "And um.. not the physical kind. The fruity sort."

"But you know what you are doing, don't you?" she asked, trusting him. Dancing was apparently a big thing to her. She remembered now how happy it made her. It was like using her need to be physical without the violence. Helpful for someone like her.
"This is much better than I had ever imagined it to be, even now," she told him, gleeful, spun a few more times. "We should do this more often," she added, with a half smile. However, as he caught his breath and stopped, she felt her heart sink.
So that was the end, right?
Except it wasn't. The memory carried on. Amarus' nose wiggled as she smelled what Mot was smelling, and thought of the baking uses. A good flavour. A strong one. She didn't associate it with Hel, though later she would meet and adore her.
"Are you sure?? Wait, punch wh- oh. Yes, a beverage. I did not spike it yet, so now is a good time to go," she said.

Bitti's Old Post "I think you've thrown yourself around enough for tonight. The quota hath been filled." He said amusedly, smiling with a shrug. He held a hand over the lady's hand on his arm as he led her to the refreshment table, being the gentlemen that he was. "Well then if the lights go out will you help me out? It seems I have the opposite problem." He managed a small laugh.
Once there he let go of his dance partner, taking two cups and pouring them both a drink. With a smile he handed one to Amarus. "Have you enjoyed the Prom so far?"

Blade's Old post "I believe so, yes," Shun mused as far as what friends did for one another. It felt about right in the very least. Though, regarding the other question, the Reaper wasn't quite as certain.
"I'm not sure. Vaith was who she came with last year, so perhaps he is her date once more in this year," he said. If it was someone else, he hadn't been able to catch sight of the guy at all.
Soon, he noticed a pair coming up to the table as well. The female of the pair, he did not recognize in the slightest, but the male sounded like Mot. The features matched up about right as well. For a moment, he raised an eyebrow. Had the cowboy found himself another girl to take aside from Hel? The Reaper watched the two for a moment or so, then went ahead and addressed them.
"Decided to come tonight after all?" he asked, speaking a little more to Mot. Considering how recently the break had happened, he was kind of surprised to see him here.

Amarus grimaced at him. The quota. She wasn't exactly aces at flirting now, but apparently she must have been even worse back then. Or was she just as bad now? The thought made her cringe. Gross.
As he held out a hand, it looked... oh, right. She had placed hers there, because it seemed like the right thing to do. She would not have naturally done that, this time-- she must have been giddy from the dancing, the night they met. Amarus held onto him gently, to make it make sense according to how things had happened.
"I might be persuaded to help you," she said, with a wicked smile.
He let go at the table, and Amarus leaned against the edge. Had she dosed the punch back then, when they arrived? No, she didn't think so-- even if she'd have liked to. Or did she?? It was so jacking hard to remember.
The conundrum was temporarily solved when he handed her punch. There was no way to sneakily spike it, not now."Actually, yes. Far more than I thought I would," she said. "You have opened my eyes to dancing. Hey, Mot? Surely you did not come here alone," she started, "have you misplaced your friends and date?"
Speak of the devil, Shun came up to the table. Amarus didn't even remember this part. She thought they had parted ways after and/or during the dancing. She leaned against the table, taking a step back unconsciously. It felt as though she was caught doing something wrong. Was Shun merely part of the memory, too? Her pride flared, however, and she straightened her back, remembering this was who she was. She was not afraid, not like this.
"Nice to meet you, too," Amarus said, with a wry smile.

Inu Mitsu's Old Post "I thought they looked kinda cute together..." Mitsu said softly searching for Vaith. "He seems like a nice boil."
Seeing Shun turn to address someone Mitsu brightened when she saw it was her Big Brother. "Big Brother!" She chirped moving over toward the boil. "I'm glad you came." She reached out to hug him before pulling back and waving at the ghoul he was with. "If...you're not busy later will you dance with me? I've been practicing since last year." She said proudly. Mitsu was hoping to dance with Shun first but she wanted to make sure she could get in a dance with her friends and especially her big brother as well.

Bitti's Old Post Mot laughed and shook his head. "Well, I'm glad it didn't have to get so hectic for you to enjoy yourself." No fires at Prom, kay thanks!
Shun's voice caught his attention, turning to find the fellow reaper with Mitsu. "Ah, yes. I thought I'd brave it for my friends." He admitted nervously. But how did Shun know he'd been off? Maybe he and Hel were closer than he knew. So he knew they were taking time away from one another?
Mitsu received a hug in return, and a pat on the head. "Of course. I'd love to have a dance with you. I'm so happy you've practiced, too." He smiled warmly down at the ghoul.
Mot stepped back and waved a hand toward Amarus. "This is Amarus. I'm not sure if any of you have met her. Amarus, this is Shun and Mitsu. Very good friends of mine."

Mitsu and Shun, of course. Amarus smiled widely. "So nice to meet you both," she said. "Mot very kindly saved me from my distress at not being able to dance. I could not be more grateful. Of course, I think I am a little exhausting, so it is good to take a break from me," she joked, with a grin. "Mitsu, maybe you would dance with me, later, as well? I would be glad of the practice. If that is not too strange," Amarus said. One student to another, it would be nice.
Unlike last time, when she was nervous about the group, she was happy now. The more memory friends, the better.

Mitsu's Old post Pleased with his response Mitsu smiled before moving back to stand beside Shun. Her attention then turned to Amarus and Mitsu nodded. "I have I...wasn't very good last year." The lycan admitted. "Mot and Levi tried to teach me after but it....went a little astray near the end of the lesson." Meaning Levi had been high as a kite and they had all just...took a nap after. At least it had been fun. "It's very good to meet you."
"I wonder where Xiu is...I want to ask her to dance too." Mitsu stood on her tip toes and scanned for the ghoul. Not that it did her much good, even standing as high as she could she still couldn't see over most shoulders.
