Eleonora’s head tilted to the side a bit confused but mostly leery about what he meant by his comment about making deals with the Negaverse. “Um, well.” She cleared her throat then shifted where she stood to lean her shoulder against the wall as she thought about the facts she did know. “I know those monsters that run around our city belong to them, I also know that those youma aren’t the worst of what they have in their arsenal; they have bigger ones capable of causing more devastation than a broken storefront window. The agents are known to steal energy from civilians like the attack at the Umbrae Hotel a few years ago, for what I have no idea, but I don’t of any Senshi on our side capable of that. But what terrifies me more than any of that is their collection of starseeds.” Only a bucketfull had made it out of the dark place those Agents called home but from what she understood from side conversations that wasn’t even half of it. “They’re murders and yet somehow we’re the ones painted as the bad guy. I’m not saying that everyone on our side is a saint, some can be quite assholes.” Feeling as if she had overstepped her bounds in that incriminating explanation of what she had both seen and been told, the senshi took a big drink of the cocoa not caring that it burnt the crap out of the top of her mouth. Strickenized Sorry for the double quote had a few blaring typos that needed to be fixed

So you've seen some of their larger youma. The only time I've seen one such youma was in the depths of Negaspace… Were you there, then? Were you still looking for answers about the Negaverse? Ice chewed his tongue rings thoughtfully, and the dull crunching noises formed a backdrop to their conversation.
Briefly he sipped his cocoa. He retained the mug in his grasp for its heat against chilled fingers. "I don't know anything about an Umbrae Hotel, but I've not been here terribly long. I'm also unaware of any White Moon senshi who can drain energy, but I'm also unaware of any need to drain energy on your side. As a Knight, I receive my power from the Code, and as far as I've been informed it needs no active replenishment of its energy and vitality. For the White Moon, I imagine the circumstances are something similar. Some part of your planet give you the ability to transform and invoke magic, and I assume that source of power needs no replenishment through outside energy.
"For the Negaverse, I imagine their power supply is less simple. It's human nature to simply not do the things we don't need to do. For example, I imagine you don't get up every morning and take care of your neighbor's yard, simply because there's no need for it and whatever rewards you might get from that aren't necessary to your continued existence. The Negaverse, likewise, wouldn't drain energy if they didn't need it. The source of their power requires external energy as a constant battery - as do their youma. If they aren't draining energy, then I imagine their youma collapse indefinitely and the officers lack the ability to continue powering up. Is this the case? I don't know with certainty, but I do know they demand energy quotas as a necessary part of their duties.
"Starseeds are a different matter. Negaverse agents can eat starseeds to recover themselves. Considering I've never seen even the staunch fighters on the Order side of things try to eat one for recovery, I imagine this ability is exclusive to the Negaverse. They eat someone's soul, they recover their condition. As for why they had a large collection of starseeds… It must've been either for energy usage later on or for distribution to some of their officers. They have use in battle; why not arm every officer with one to increase their effectiveness?" He shrugged, and retained a carefully neutral expression.
He assumed that by 'we' she meant the White Moon senshi. "For being called bad guys, you should probably watch the news. There've been documentaries and news coverage reported for quite some time placing the senshi in bad situations. There's a lot of pro-Negaverse spin in the news.
"But you're right - there are a lot of assholes on the Order side. That's part of the reason that we're —." He paused, then thought better of his answer. "Anyway. I hope that answers your question in part."

Energy quota’s, sustaining those feral creatures? Stealing starseeds, killing people, to increase effectiveness??? HOW IS THAT NOT THE DEFINITION OF EVIL? She mentally screamed at him. “In part,” she finally said after a moment's pause before bringing the cup to her lop to both silence herself before she said something outlandishly stupid or offensive and to finish the previously offered drink. Eleonora sighed then set her cup on the counter. “But the best way to learn more is to keep asking questions. If that means I need to find an agent that it willing to talk then that’s what i’ll have to do.” She was not foolish enough to actively seek out someone with a stronger signature than her own “As it is the media is not really a reliable source of information. They skew stories with partial truths, unchecked facts, incomplete information especially in ongoing investigations in order to serve their narrative, promote their agenda and get ratings.” One of the major hazards of reporting on an event was that there was a high chance that not all facts have been revealed yet. Whether it was news on the magical terrorists, racism or the elections, the video clip aired on the news was likely the tail end of something that lasted much longer with a zoomed in narrow frame so the entire scope of the scene is missing along with the events that lead up to what had been captured on camera. “Anyway, I should probably take off. My sister is probably wondering what is taking me so long. Thank you Ice for the cocoa and for chatting a nit with me.” Once more she reached out to shake his hand in a farewell gesture. “Please take care. And stay warm!” She quickly added. “This look like it is going to be a brutal winter.”

"Right," Ice returned, blinking. "That's the entire point I was trying to make. It doesn't matter what Order thinks of itself or how the war truly proceeds; as long as the Negaverse has a hard line into the media they can spin senshi as terrorists as much as they want. The general public doesn't look at the news critically enough to view it in any other light but as the truth - and those who possess a nose for skepticism might not go into fact-checking detail over the matter." If Eleonora wanted to alleviate the civilian heat applied to senshi, perhaps she might look for a job in the news industry. Really he knew nothing about her - in uniform or out. She may already be in such a scene.
As she reached out, Isaiah set aside his mug to return the handshake gesture. He never felt fond of them himself, but he obliged it out of courtesy. "Shouldn't I be telling you to stay warm?" He cracked a thin smile. "Thanks for letting me back into my own house. And enjoy your planet when you go." He bid her adieu and returned to the stove, where cleanup proved much too simple for his winding mind.
It's a small wonder I don't just turn myself over to the Negaverse. At least then I'd be able to teleport into my own home. No need for keys and stuck doors.
I wonder if I'll see that one again. Is it even worth it to ask that question anymore? Jaw tight, Ice set about cleaning up the pot and mugs, and soon it would blossom into a kitchen-scrubbing endeavor.
