Chiara watched the girl move to do as she herself had done so many sweeps ago. This would be hard for the child, Chiara knew, but Chiara would make sure the child was taken care of. The blueblood would shower her in a luxurious life she had never known before. The blueblood would be there for the child. Chiara frowned a bit, as she watched the shaking child mechanically move to do what she had to, she felt something in her, something she had once felt, ages ago, for her lusus. No, the blueblood thought to herself, not her lusus, she felt this towards another troll. Her heart melted, and she wanted to take care of the child, show her a better life, one without beasts, and chaos, and filth. The girl hesitated, and Chiara walked over to where she was kneeling. "Its okay," Chiara whispered.

Her eyes were still trained on her lusus as the other troll approached. Kolako felt her kneel next to her, a deep, disgusting desire to barf curling in her. Her head lowered, staring at knife in her hands. Her reassurances made her angry. Her expression, however, did not change. What was she saying? It was okay? As if she would be there for her? Kolako felt her skin crawl.
If I killed him, I'd have a better chance at life. Her mind whispered to her, and Kolako was actually tempted. Tempted to live better, tempted to destroy her life as she knew it. Her hands kept shaking as they neared. He'll probably die from bleeding out, anyways. She didn't need him.
No.
This wasn't about practicality. This wasn't about how much more one option had than the other— There wasn't an option in the first place. She was forcing her to kill her own lusus for no reason. This wasn't about picking which one was better. He was her lusus.
But he was her weakness.
Kolako's hand darted at Chiara, knife held firm as she attempted to shank the blueblood.

Chiara tried to get back as the barbarian girl came at her with the knife. The blueblood wasn't quite fast enough, and her outstretched hand to comfort the girl was cut, blue blood dripping into the brown. Chiara wasn't smiling, and a look of rage came over her face. "Enough!" The hand that was cut ignored the dagger, and went right for the redblood's throat, transforming into some much larger and stronger troll's arm, aiming to choke the girl to death.

More blue.
Kolako's eyes widened, alert, as Chiara yelled at her with anger and rage. Kolako shrieked as a large hand aimed for her throat, stabbing the dagger in her arm in an attempt to stop her, but the arm just grew bigger and grasped at her neck. Pressure. Pressure on her neck, her head, her body-- She had blood all over her, but none of it was hers. She choked and gasped, head throbbing as she thought of too much, too much too much toomuchtoomuchtherewastoomuchblood
She wanted help. Help, from anything, from anywhere, just something that would save her. Normally in this moment, Papion would come running, but he was snug beneath her, breath shallow, body
In that second, something in her snapped. Her pupils dilated and her own blood slid down her nose, pain making her mind and body ache. Kolako released as much of a scream as she could from her spot under the blueblood, clutching the dagger in her arm and attempting to make as much of a mess of it as she could. Koko was never going down without a fight. She couldn't breathe, airways constricted as her eyes went wider and wider, hands slashing as much as she could at the blueblood. Her mind was too much of a mess for her to make sense of anything and her lungs begged for air, though as much as she tried to breathe, gasp, scream--
Nothing came.
Koko stared at Chiara straight in the eyes as she panicked and thrashed for air. Something was coming nearer. From the depths of the woods, dozens of crazed creatures charged out of nowhere, slamming into the two assistants near them. One was swept in the crowd, the other trampled to death by the throng of animals. One made their way onto the lusus.
The last thing Kolako saw before passing out was a crazed antlerbeast charging directly at Chiara.

Chiara felt the movement in the ground. Being on her knees over the reldblood child Chiara felt the hairs on her arms raise up in terror. Something was coming. "Later..." The blueblood whispered to the unconscious little troll. "And i will make you regret living." Then she heard the screams of her attendants as animals of all sizes and types rushed to ram the three older trolls. Chiara saw the big antlered dear aim his charge, and Chiara jumped up into a tree, not quite fast enough to avoid a large gash to her inner thigh. The blueblood spat at the beast, and using her power, she grew strong legs for jumping and climbing. "Retreat!" The blueblood yelled, just in case her assistants were still alive. She saw the slower animals making their way to her safe spot in the tree, and the blueblood fled as fast as she could.

Kolako was swimming.
She was paddling in a sea of blue, the current was rough but it wasn't too strong. It appeared to be a bright night. She dove in head first, enjoying the light caress of the water. As she surfaced, a figure appeared in the distance. A large and fluffy white figure, struggling to the surface. It looked like it was drowning. Kolako, panicking, dove over toward it. The sky turned cloudy. Brown beaded on the white. It oozed off the animal, mixing with the blue into a strong purple. The waves grew stronger, and it seemed no matter how hard she paddled, no matter how hard she tried, her swimming just brought the other further and further away from her goal. She reached out for him trying to call out to him, to scream and shout, but nothing came. Blue fell from her mouth, the taste of blue, the sight of brown. The waves became stronger and fiercer, beginning to overwhelm her, squeezing down on her neck as she heard words echo in her thinkpan.
I will make you regret living.
Kolako screamed herself awake. Jerking herself alert, the brownblood was left tense and scared, looking around her with wide eyes and a pounding pump biscuit. There was no one there. No one except for the few animals that'd lagged around after the stampede and... Kolako looked under her. With a rising breath rate, the female quickly stood up, rushing to check on her lusus-- It was faint, but it was there. She needed to clean him up and dress his wounds. She wouldn't ruminate on what'd just happened. There was too much for her to do, she couldn't let herself get distracted. She just wished she had some help.
The animals around her looked up. Normally, that was common-place. They were prone to getting hunted, so being alert was something they were used to. What really was different, however, was how friendly they were being. She was the hunter-- She was sure they knew of her. They should've scattered. Kolako glanced to them, eyes widening as they trotted near her, almost blindly. Kolako inched backward. Now she had some sort of... affinity for animals?! ...No. Not right now. She needed to let that go, start over. Phew. Okay. She needed to help Papion. He wouldn't waltz in now, able to fix everything to the way it was. That'd been the first battle he ever lost. He thought he could help, but all she did was ruin it all. Running a hand through the matted softness of his pelt, Kolako gave him a wistful smile. She would protect him no matter what. He was safety, he was calm. He was always there for him, but now... Now, she would truly have to be independent.
And she wasn't sure that was a good thing.
