[Harrison had a traditional bucket of Thanksgiving beans. There were lots of different types of beans and bean sauces in it. Hearty, sustaining, and great jungle food. He felt like feasts were the opposite of <******** famine, and so all this was helping them avoid horrible fates that eventually resulted in horrible deaths.

"Great work, Melvin!" Harrison said, plunking the bucket contribution on the table.

Privately, he thought, Good for Melvin, getting over his break up with his long-term crazy, ancient boyfriend by eating as much as possible.

Gross, eating, HUMAN STUFF, B0nez complained. With the mouths, and the chewing, and digesting, then you just...get rid of it all in a huge, messy pile, ugh. Bodies.

We can't all be a pair of swords, Harrison thought.

ONLY IF YOU ROLL HIGH.

Rodney had brought a couple of dishes, because that was the Vegan's Burden. He looked a little mopier than usual, because on top of his usual weight of the world there was also a heaping pile of guilt.

His contributions were some bright looking green beans and a sliced hunk of Tofurkey, which looked almost like a variety of meatloaf.

If he could have faded into the background even more than a person wearing a magically camoflaged jungle outfit who barely spoke above a whisper already did, he would have.

Seven was a little more than wary about the current set up, but thought that at the very least, Lawrence was definitely a criminal and would keep Rodney away from...rival...criminals. Seven felt like this was THEIR job, though, so...in addition to all the lame important apology list Rodney had made in his head that he wanted to give to, well, basically everyone, Seven intended to have a serious talk with who he felt was actually to blame.

Mik looked starstruck that a hot man had decided to respond to him and gave Jordan a very dopey smile. "No, thank you." he said distantly before reluctantly dragging himself over to help retrieve the drinks which he brought back and set by the table.

"Thanksgiving!" he declared to the zombie without seeming too upset by the fact there was a zombie present.

"I'm gonna drink LOADS." he said to Melvin, uncertain how much loads even was. He caught Lawrence's gaze across the table and regretted it.

Rep actually, out of sheer habit found himself looking forward to what Harrison had brought and realised with a grim sort of concern that this was what it must have been like when someone got so used to their wife's cooking that they couldn't imagine actual food any longer.

Lawrence, who was setting out the cups still was much less kind, eyeing the bucket with a look that managed to ooze disdain from every single pore. 'Is that in case we have a fire?" he asked.

He had spotted Rodney and wondered if this whole guilty skulking thing was going to go on for ever.

Mik waved to Rodney too, emphatically. "Thanksgiving!" he called to him also.

Melvin returned to the table, grabbing some large knives for the other turkeys but giving one to Rep to carve with. "You do the honors of course." He said and sat down as far away from Lawr as he could which happened to be with Mik and Melody. He sat on the other side of Mik and called out.

"No one eat yet. We need a toast first." Since he didn't want to enforce a prayer, a toast was at least necessary.

He filled his cup and waited. The other bottle of whiskey was left at Rep's end of the table.

It was nice to see everyone had come together and even provided their own dish or services. He couldn't be in better spirits.

Rodney smiled a very little at Mikael. "Happy Thanksgiving," he said softly. Even though he knew what it would mean in the turkey industry, with dark, empty pens...Mikael was still talking to him. He meant the smile back.

Harrison poured himself a double helping of alcohol, also in good spirits. "Don't get s**t-faced," he warned. "Not past the, you know, on-duty limits. Because we are, still."

Rep wasn't sure what he'd done to deserve any honours at all and was more than a little concerned he was out of his depth. He'd never celebrated Thanksgiving before, given that it wasn't actually a thing where he came from, nor was he certain the significance of carving a turkey. He was good at carving things though, so it wasn't too much of an issue.

Lawrence moved to sit down next to Rodney, aware he was being avoided. If it wasn't for the fact it was a holiday and he actually felt rather strongly about those these days he would have been tempted to leave. It was a strange feeling, to be ignored in this way by people he'd been certain were all neatly in his thrall. This was the sacrifice he'd made and the things he would need to deal with.

Rep didn't even pour himself a drink at all, having volunteered himself for guard duty in lieu of someone else, preferring to be alert and in fighting form out in the field. "Whit he said." he said, nodding at Harrison.

Lawrence decided to ignore this advice and poured himself a drink of wine that was to his refined palette deemed completely cheap swill, but he didn't care all that much.

Mik was happy to get any show of affection returned and reached for one of the bottles, pouring himself a pint glass of whiskey in what was likely only the first of several mistakes he'd make that night. "Melvin should do the toast." he said, looking at the fancy golden coloured liquid. "Because he set up dinner."

"Seconded." Rep said, seizing on the chance to have someone else put on the spot instead of him.

"I'll give you a hand, Melody," Jordan said, and moved to help set out the plasticware.

When Sammy came to investigate the commotion, he said to her, "It's a human holiday from where I'm from, called Thanksgiving, like he said," and he nodded at Mik. "It's a harvest festival, and we have a feast and express gratitude for the good things we have. You guys do anything like that?" It was possible that he would get funny looks for being civil and friendly with the zombie, but he didn't care a whole lot at this point.

Once he'd finished helping with the table setting, he got himself a drink - a small amount of wine, since he didn't particularly want to be impaired if anything should interrupt the nice dinner they were trying to have out here. Mik's choice and volume of drink got a rather concerned look.

Once everything had been set out thanks to Jordan and Lawr's assistance, Melody made her way back to her seat with most of the rest of her make-shift family. Seeing Mik pour himself a rather interesting looking drink, she decided to do exactly the same, filling up a solo cup full of the same liquid. He seemed to be in the same boat as her and she didn't want to feel so alone in this particular experience. She turned to Mik and Melvin with her cup held up, "I also agree, no getting out of this one Melvin." She grinned brightly at their host.

Sammy continued to remain where she was, she only was slightly worried when Rep joined everyone at the table, but thus far he hadn’t snapped at her, plus the whole cuffs thing was generous even still. Before she knew it Jordan was wandering over to explain.

“We have all kinds of small ones, but I don’t think we have a Thanksgiving?” She frowned a bit, “Never mind my lack of a family, so holidays for me are kind of subdued? I usually just spend them with Siddie.” She gave a slight sniff at the air, and though she claimed she didn’t need to eat she was curious about all the food they had. “That stuff you all are talking about, it’s like Cider right? I’ve always wanted to try Cider but they have rules against us having it.” She paused again, “Actually I think I might be old enough to buy a bottle by now if I was back home.”

Roland meanwhile joined with the others, he gave Jordan only the briefest of stares as he spoke to the Zombie standing between them before quickly moving towards the food and drinks. A small glass of wine and a mix of whatever was available. He couldn’t remember the last time anyone had bothered to put together a real meal on the island.

Moving towards the table he slipped in near Mik nodding, “I’m with him, if Melvin put this together he deserves credit. The MRE’s aren’t bad but I don’t think I’ve even eaten this well on the island in the past few months.”

Melvin looked wide-eyed at both Mik and Melody and wanted to say something right then and there it was distracted at the call for a toast. Not shy about such a traditional part of Thanksgiving, Melvin rose up from his seat. "Alright then."

He called for everyone to be quiet a moment and took his plastic cup. "I'm glad we could all come together for whenever we need to help each other and are called to serve, but even in moments to pull our talents for something as unifying as a simple holiday meal. Thank you all for being here today and being part of this family, not by blood or circumstance, but for a general desire to enjoy a good meal with good company. Happy Thanksgiving and I thank each and every one of you this day. To those here and those who cannot be with us." He rose his cup with a little nod and took a sip.

Sitting down, he turned to Mik and Melody. "Guys, whiskey is not beer. You guys have enough in your glass to drop a horse. For my peace of mind please pour a bit into another cup and just sip it. Whiskey is a sippin alcohol. If you want to down a glass, that's what the wine is for." He whispered, not wanting to call attention to them and keeping the conversation private.

"Please."

Mikael also listened to the explanation that Jordan gave for Sammy intently, too afraid to admit he hadn't had a clue what the hell it was and glad now to know. Again he was a little bit annoyed by the way Melody seemed to copy what he did and furrowed his brows at her, mercifully without time to start another argument as Melvin spoke up for his speech.

"I think I could drink it." he said dubiously as he was told not to, taking a sip as part of the toast and promptly choking on it.

"Or not??" he said. "It tastes like fire." But this just made him more resolved to drink it

Rep didn't seem to mind too much that Jordan was being friendly to Sammy, so long as he wasn't expected to be cordial to a monster. Sammy set him on edge these days more than anything else, used to having to murder so so many infected people which came close to zombies in their appearance. He kept being tempted to summon Tracey when he caught sight of her out of the corner of his eye.

He raised his glass of irn bru with a nod. "Aye. To everyone, here and no."

Lawrence had quietly listened to the speech himself and raised his glass before taking a drink. "To family." he said quietly.

"That's alcohol. Actually this is rather smooth but I wasn't going top tier for today cause I'm pretty much broke. If you drink the cheap, unfiltered crap, then THAT burns."

He took a pleased drink and grabbed a roll from a passing plate. Rising up, he worked to carve one of the other turkeys, loading a few plates of hunters requesting not certain parts.

"Hey Mik." He said as he cut some dark meat for a Death hunter. "I wanna ask if you want to freshen up and learn to shave after dinner. I'm going to go out while the portals are still open."

Mik took another sip to see if it would be any more palatable and found it actually was less overwhelming. He took it to mean he was a little more manly than he had been before and was improving with each sip. "So more expensive is better?" he said, before looking across the table at Lawrence who quirked the very very edge of a smile across the wine he was drinking.

He about faced on his opinion. "I like it cheaper." he said. "But I'd REALLY love to go find out how to shave." he said brightly and full of eagerness.

Lawrence downed the rest of his glass and looked about ready to throw the empty glass across the table at Melvin for suggesting such a thing. Instead he went to pour himself another top up. He hadn't eaten anything and looked as if he had no intention of it.

"To family!" Melody chimed rather merrily before taking a sip of her drink despite Melvin's warning. If Mik could do it, so could she - nope. She recoiled in horror and caaaarefully slid the cup as far away from herself as she could reach. When Mik managed another sip she stared at him as if she were trying to figure out how he was still alive.

"Just a rule for you two if you are ever at a party, pour a little glass before you go crazy with filling up a glass. Also, don't accept drinks from strangers. Always pour you right own and never drink from a glass you haven't kept your eye on."

He frowned at the filled cup of whiskey he couldn't drink. Reaxhing over, he took Melody's cup and held it up. "Anyone want a full cup of whiskey?" This was not hard to pass off and he sent it down the table to a pleased Moon.

He took a fresh cup for her and poured a small sip of wine. "Try this. It's easier in some people."

He settled back down and went for a plate of green beans.

"Cheap booze isn't great when it come to certain certain drinks. Cheap is okay for beer or even wine if you don't want something too high class. You get what you pay for. Bars are good places to try drink some out and see what you like."

"Being a fresh set of clothes and your toothbrush and we'll go a bit after dinner."

He looked over to see Lawr looking like a million miles of rain. He could only raise his glass and sip it slowly, glancing away from him and going to work on the great meal he hadn't before him.

Mik took another long sip of his drink. "I don't have a toothbrush." he said.
