"It's not a problem." Makani said, then gave a bit of a laugh, "Well, you never know, it might be since magic can be a messy thing when one is first learning, but I'm sure we will be fine! I will keep any errant magic in check during your practices so you needn't worry about that." He knew that a mage in training could make quite the mess because he had himself on a few occasions. Better having a teacher at his side then getting thrown into the deep end as a means of learning though if you asked Makani.

"Alright, if it's a deal then we will see about getting you set up in a room of your own soon." He said, not sure if he was actually staying at the inn at the moment or not or if he had a room or not. Even so he knew that if it was up to Eira he would have one of the smaller rooms for the duration of his stay if he was working for his room and board instead of paying for it. Best to follow his sister's rules to keep her happy.

Giving a smile he said, "It's nice to meet you Sol though I do with the circumstances were a bit better on your part. Hmm... a reason why you're sticking around? Best to tell the truth... or at least the partial truth, say you want to learn magic from a 'great and powerful sage' that you met here." He gave a chuckle as he complimented himself during the suggestion.

He gave a nod, "Yeah, spells can try to go out of control at times, especially with new mages. It's something that just takes practices to get the hang of it and soon your magic will flow for you smoothly." He said it in a reassuring manner because the last thing he wanted was for Sol to be afraid of magic because that would just end up messy.

"If he wants to come and talk to me about it he is welcome to." Having a student would be an interesting but welcome change of pace. He was getting a bit bored with just doing the normal chores so this was something that he would rather enjoy doing. Here was to hoping that Eira would be fine with his decision to give the boy a room in exchange for work. As it was something that she'd done before he felt it would be fine.

"A raptrix?" He thought on it a moment before he said, "It should be alright. Normally beasts that are bigger then one's forearm aren't allowed inside but there are exceptions to the rule like my Rae. I bet she will enjoy the company of another raptrix in fact." He got a student and Rae got a buddy, it was win win!

"Sounds good." He said as Sol, hopeful that the assurances would a make this alright with Sol's father as he really did want to help the young man out if he was able to do so. He could understand though why the boy's father might not want to leave him alone in a strange place with someone that he'd never met before. He hoped that being the brother of the inn's owner might be to his advantage in this situation as it should make him appear as being worth trusting.

Chuckling Makani said, "So long as she is well behaved it should be alright, but if not then we will figure something out for her. There are stables where big beasts are kept and cared for while their owners stay in the inn." He would give Sol's raptrix a chance though since she might very well have the same sort of seeing eye dog job that Rae had once had herself.

"Sure, I should be around somewhere nearby." Likely basking in the sun like a sailscale.
