Roland wasn't far behind Cami a sack of spare clothes slung over his shoulder as he made his way from the portal to the camp. "Sorry to be the spoil sport, not an Archer or a Gunner. Just a scythe with a chain."
His gaze drifted around the camp and back to Rep, "It's not a bad start for a camp though. Shame we don't have a beach. Only good thing about being somewhere warm is it usually comes with a beach." Granted when dealing with horsemen that might also mean a leviathan or something.

It was really hot. Really, really hot, to the point that Jason was debating whether or not to just ditch his shirt completely (much to his weapons delight, which was half the reason he hadn't. The other was modesty). He already had taken off his coat, scarf, and opted for a more simple pair of boots then his normal armored ones. He had also brought a few cans of bug spray, and his ever present runic bandages.
Seeing that Harrison was fixing up the fence, he decided to as well, and did a reasonable job of adding more padding to it. It was also a good way to keep out of Reps way, as the much buffer sun hunter was quite intimidating to the moon and he didn't want to anger him somehow

Joy wasn't the sort to shy away from hard work. Truth be told she rather liked manual labor and if it had just been a viable and profitable line of work back home, she might possibly have never even signed up for Deus. But it wasn't and so she had and now here she was in a hot, humid jungle that made her think of home right down to the multitude of massive blood-sucking mosquitoes.
And seeing Jason and Harrison begin work, Joy quickly followed suit, all the while humming an old jingle about mosquito repellents. It didn't really stop the bugs from biting but she managed to add onto the camp's fortification.
"Imma gonna go on patrol," she said before asking, "You wanna come with?"

"Naw." Rep said grimly. "It's really ******** hard to hide in a tree with Tracey without bringing down the whole ******** tree, same with swinging him in this jungle, I'd squash myself. I'm kind of stuck relying on mostly other people out here, I'm no much use." It evidently pained him to admit that the jungle was a place he wasn't best suited to and his pride was such that he was forced to look away.
"I'm glad there's people here who can handle the warm though, I was feeling a bit ******** exposed out here with just the ******** like nerds with me. We'll get it, I'm sure." And in a show of sheer Rep generosity, he didn't go completely mental about the stolen peanuts.
Ro got a nod. "I'm sure you'll be awright if you use the chain well, I think its more open by the temple anyway. The camp needs done up for sure though, if you see anything worth using for fortification, bring it back here for sure."
Jason was spotted out of the corner of his eye and got a thumbs up when he got back. It was a vaguely "I'm watching you" sort of thumbs up though. He remembered Harrison rescuing the guy.

It'd been quiet lately. Or at least it had for a certain super petite Sun hunter. she'd fallen into a rather comfortable routine over the last half a year, and that routine had included her usual duties and hobbies on the island, as well as spending time with her mentee-turned-sort-of-boyfriend Andy. Sort of boyfriend, because Peyton still wasn't one hundred percent comfortable with the title, or the commitment that came along with it. She was working on it. The call to action had come with equal parts excitement and dread. The chance to get off island on an active mission of large scale, to stretch her legs and get her hands dirty again, was titillating, but these things never managed to go smoothly. Being in the jungle, Pey was thankful that her preferred attire ran high in light fabrics, looser cuts. It meant, while hot, she wasn't smoldering in the heat. Especially with her abundance of ombre curls piled up on her head, and off her neck. Bag slung over one shoulder, she'd paused after exiting the portal to survey the camp, and those that were already there. Rep, of course, but also Roland, Lawrence, Harrison, jason, joy, and-- "Cami!" A sight for sore eyes. Peyton waved as she headed towards the other girl. "Good Lord!" It came out heavily drawled, though cheerful enough as Gretchen dropped her bag beside one of the camp tents(not her own, she didn't think), and brought an arm up to wipe at her brow with the sleeve of her jacket. It was hot. Hot hot. But not the dry heat she'd been more accustomed to back home in Kansas. No, this was humid. Like walking through water. "I think I'm over dressed for this climate." That was an understatement. She couldn't shrug out of the long sleeves fast enough, shedding the jacket so she could fold it over twice before bending to stuff it onto the bag at her feet. "So what needs doin'?" Heat or not, there was surely work to be done, and she wasn't about to let obvious disabilities hold her back from helping out. She was perfectly capable of doing her fair share, and she took every opportunity to prove it. (Gretchen and Peyton are both open for interaction!)

"I'll mange. Been a while since I've had a real fight, we should be okay. And the opening around the temple works in both our favors. You should have room to open up on anything closer to there." He paused, "Unless you plan on running this from here? You did good with that zombie incident in the mall actually."
More hunters where rolling in, Peyton and Gretchen falling in behind the group already gathered, Both got a small wave before his focus turned to Gretchen, "Working on walls it looks like Harrison and a few others already started working on it.
Tossing his own bag with Gretchen's he started towards the edge of the camp, "Wana give me a hand?" once outside the wall his great scythe flickered into form, a few chops later and a down tree was cut into nice chunks which he started hauling towards the wall to reinforce it again.(Success!)

Nirva had to admit that other then the warmth she was very much at home in the treetop village. Though she had to admit venturing to this outer fringe of horsemen was rather strange, they had taken on strange technology including the small boxes they where told to carry to keep in touch.
Shrugging she tucked the 'phone' into her black pants. She'd left her heavy furred tunic back at the Tower, instead opting for just the lose dark shirt and pants she wore below, and of course her helmet. Without warning she stretched her wings, a burst of movement from then launching her off the platform, landing in the lower common area looking for other Horsemen or creatures of FEAR just arriving to the village.

Liang wanted to help, so on talking to one of the War elders he was pointed in the direction of the jungle and told to go and retrieve some of the local fruits. They were important for mixing up toxins and other poisons, tethered as they were to this realm. He gave the War horseman who told him this a slightly sceptical look, not certain if all of it was code to get rid of him. With a sigh, he wandered off anyway, out to try and find some of the elusive fruits he'd been told about and given a vague descriptor of.
The forest was hard going and involved a lot of wishing he had something sharp to chop through the thick foliage with, instead lugging his heavy bow with him as he went.
Eventually he came across a small purple fruit which though it didn't fully fit the description he'd been given was a good bet. He tasted a little of it without a thought about what it could do and spent the next few minutes feeling very unwell indeed.
Well it wasn't the right one.

Rodney had managed to avoid any truly bloodsoaked missions. If Deus was a haunted house, he would still be in the line outside, being frightened by the costumed workers leering at those who hadn't truly entered the attraction.
It wasn't that he hadn't seen horrible things, he had. Or that horrible things hadn't been done to him. But overall, with almost divine levels of protection, he hadn't earned any scars. He hadn't broken any bones. He hadn't had things twisted and growing beside him.
He had been stripped, and copied. He'd seen...the results. Things left behind. But there were softer parts of his life that made up most of it. Helping with the house (which had an art studio, and a garden), and doing his best to help when he was called up (although he had been here for...a year and a half now, without a promotion). He was still learning from Rep, and was quietly helping now, fetching and hauling tirelessly at the Death Hunter's request, a grey and whispery presence that it was sometimes easy to forget was there at all.

Peyton got a nod of greeting from the redhead and he shrugged at Ro. "The portal is important and my division isn't a front line one, I'm probably more useful back here to be honest. There are headsets and s**t though if you are going out there, I'll have radio contact. Hopefully better than the s**t Mark normally has." He didn't comment on the zombie mall, as far as he was concerned, that hadn't gone very well at all, but at least it hadn't spread any further.
Ro getting to work with the reinforcements was good, and already a little of the tension in his posture seemed to ebb away.
The rations box was deemed adequate and handed over to Rodney. "Take that to the bunk tents for now will you? Make sure its nowhere ******** animals can get to."
Lawrence was over by said tents, writing in a small notebook, he'd just gotten the inventory back for what sort of medical supplies were on hand at the camp and had decided they needed quite a few more if it was going to be acceptable. On seeing Rodney he made his way over with a smirk.
"Figured I'd come see how you were getting on since they stole you away."

"Fine," Rodney replied softly, handling the box with care. "It's been quiet. We're still getting set up. ...Did you sleep alright?"
Rodney hadn't slept well, but he was a shallow sleeper in the best of conditions. He knew Lawrence was about the same, but he asked with genuine concern.
"I've been worried, about everything."
He could feel it, thicker than usual. How could you go against something like War and there not be any fighting?
...Or any loss.

"As well as could be imagined." he said, subconciously resting a hand over his stomach as he spoke. Sleep didn't come easy and never really had, he could nap almost anywhere but his sleep was always fractured and strange at the best of times. It had gotten worse since he'd been infected with whatever it was that he had.
"I'm not worried frankly." and this was true. "It read like just a normal run of the mill artifact retrieval mission. We probably won't even see any horsemen at all."
His gaze drifted in the direction of Rep's voice. "I don't know how you can work for that overgrown brat."

Melvin didn't exactly trust himself most places but he needed off the island as often as he could to help break out the long stretches of want he couldn't escape. Jobs helped focus the mind and idlenhands tended to want to groupe for whatever was around. A downside o jungles was everyone wore so little. It the seat and dirt were helping to kick his libido down.
At the wall, he worked on the foundations to the fence to give some stability before he spotted Harrison and waved. "Hey, how have you been?"

The moon watched a few more hunters exit the portal, waving to Peyton as she caught his eye before returning his sights to the fortifications. It was good to see others join in with building up the camps defenses, making Jason feel a little safer. Just a little, but it was a difference. Now if only he could evade the constant, biting mosquitos. The bug repellent helped but dam the little bugs were ever persistent. "Y-yeah, sure!" He replied to Joys question, bending backwards to stretch his muscles out. He didn't want to go on patrol by himself anyway. As he straightened himself, he saw Rep turn his way, seeing the little thumbs up. He felt a shiver down his spine, the gesture creeping him out more then reassuring him, and he felt the need to show the sun hunter how hard he was working as well as get out of his sight. "Y-yes. W-we should t-totally go on a p-patrol, r-right now in fact!" His voice may have gone up a octave as he gestured for Joy to get moving quickly while he was walking at a brisk pace himself. Away from Rep.
