MissMisnomer Thank you so much for your patience! <3 For once Arima didn't seem bothered by the time. Honestly now that she was back on solid ground the girl was seemingly enjoying just spending time with the other Matori. So far what she had seen of the circus had been enchanting and for a bit it made her think of more innocent days - days when she could spend an afternoon curled up with a book dreaming of adventures.
However when she saw all the animals the girl couldn't help raising a hand to her mouth in awe. There were so many! Though she did let out a surprising noise with Leukos's commentary as the rarest of giggles left her lips, "You...introduce well." She commented with a small smile before glancing around. There were several species she hadn't ever seen before as well in here...
But their spectacle at the idea of treats made the girl laugh once more, "They're lovely." She managed as he brought them over, "But are you sure they'll want me to feed them?" Though at the question the girl slowly shook her head at her own question, "Silly for me to ask after that display."
As she watched Leukos a slight frown crossed her features. That must have been painful. What if they did decide to take a finger from her by mistake? Yet Leukos seemed so confident about allowing her to feed them. Arima took a deep breath, "I suppose if it happens at least it'll be an interesting way to get my first real scar. We could match then..." She found herself teasing him before glancing away with a flush, "Alright. So let's see how nice you guys truly are."
Ever so slowly Arima reached out a hand so that she could pet the soft neck. Of course she chose Ginsha before finding another neck bumping into her arm. "Is it not fair that he only gave your sister one, hmm?" She found herself musing to the other creature before reaching into the bag that Leukos had given her. Remembering how he had given a treat to Ginsha she kept her fingers together and held out the piece to Ginsho. While it may have seemed like an eternity of waiting for Arima's nerves the next thing she knew the treat was cleanly gone from her hand while the Xaraan stared at her for more.
"Oh." Arima blinked at the empty air before glancing over to Leukos, "I suppose that works." As she held out both hands with a treat each the Matori smiled at the Xaaran, "They're gorgeous creatures. I'm jealous, honestly. My mother was too fearful to ever let me be so close to any creature before....it must be nice to have such partners in life."

Leukos beamed at Arima as she settled into it; it was clear she had been uncomfortable, so seeing her go for it anyways made him happy for her. He inspected their faces while she fed them, picking off any blemishes that might have been missed by the groomers earlier. "Yes, they really are gorgeous. I find that the beauty created by nature far surpasses anything we can try to forge ourselves."
He gave them a satisfied pat on the neck, leaning his forehead against Ginsha's and closing his eyes as he rubbed her jaw. "It really is a shame you've spent so little time in their company: there's no purer heart in the whole world than that of a beast. There's no malice or prejudice; the concept of evil is totally foreign to them. Just the best of intentions and an incredible openness to forgive.... I wouldn't be the person I am today were it not for their companionship and the many lessons they have taught me..."
With a blush he lifted his head and smiled at Arima, "Oh, um, but that's just my opinion anyways. Listen to me rambling on and on, there's still more to see!" He took the satchel from her and put it back on the peg, letting his fingers linger on her exposed shoulder longer than was necessary. He stood close to her again, motioning so the other pens with a sweeping gesture. "Ready to meet the rest of them?"
They strolled down the line, Leukos showing her the other creatures of their troop. There was the huge purple Janarim he used in his first act, who was insisting on being a brat: staying put in his sunbeam even when Leukos tried to call him over to say hello. There were a couple more Xaraans, Prash the Aldabuk, a beautiful orange Scorra, a pair of Zanteer who came chattering over for attention, and the small herd of Quhar they used to pull around their wagons and carts.
Being at the end of their tour, Leukos hopped up onto one of the beams of the Quhar pen and nimbly walked along it while he chatted with her. He leisurely reached down to pull up Arima to sit with him, crossing his ankles while they balanced on it. "Well, that's everyone out here anyways. We have a Perzi you probably remember from the performance, but Shia likes to keep it in her wagon with her, spoils it rotten."
The sun was starting to set, another full day gone by. It was a beautiful one, a few precious clouds bouncing the rays of light into spectacular reds and oranges. Leukos let his fingers inch over to brush against Arima's nonchalantly, smiling at her charmingly. "Well, that's everything I can think of to show you. I hope you had a good time...you make wonderful company."

Surprised at such strong sentiments, Arima found herself studying the other Matori. It was honestly touching to hear someone speak with such pure honesty, "I see." She found herself quietly replying as she watched him interacting with the Xaraan. It was almost entrancing as if she were seeing some noble character from a story come to life. He truly cares deeply for them.
As he cut himself off Arima found herself blinking, "Oh, no! I enjoyed listening....to your opinion." Her voice dipped lower as old habits of shyness turned her previously firm tone into a much softer one, "It's sweet to see how much you care about them. As I said before you seem truly blessed to have such partners in life. Cherishing them shows how golden your own heart is. After all I feel as if they wouldn't be as close to you if not."
Though her own soft opinion trailed off at the lingering touch. Feeling her cheeks blazing Arima turned on her heel and took a few quick steps, "Ye-yes! Let's go see the rest of them before we lose the last few hours of daylight." Her heart was thudding in her ears as she forced herself to walk quickly around the rest of the creatures. In time she felt herself relaxing a bit more as she found herself following Leukos with excitement. All of the creatures were enchanting -even those with their strong personalities which only resulted in more of Arima's laughter escaping- while those that were sweet enough made her heart melt a bit. Perhaps one day this would result in her finding her own companion creature. It would be nice...wouldn't it?
Still even the magic had to end eventually. As their tour ended the girl allowed herself to be pulled up next to Leukos. This was far more possible than their high experience from earlier. Smiling at her own foolishness from earlier Arima found herself watching Leukos, "Oh? Sounds about right. Most of the ladies I met while visiting with my mother often kept their perzi near. Some were even dressed in more expensive silks than the owner themselves." She teased lightly, "I helped a...friend save a kitten once. Even she became entranced by the creature once it sat down and purred on her lap. Ever since then it's been with her 'helping' her to cook by testing her food."
Relaxing on their perch Arima found herself trailing off so that she could stare at the beauty of the setting sun, "Already." The word escaped her lips as the slightest whisper before she found her heart stopping. Again another lingering touch had her startled. Surely it was just his way of showing friendship! Taking a deep breath to try and calm her racing heart Arima nodded at his compliment, "It-it was an amazing time. I don't know if I've had such a fun day in a long while. Thank you Leukos. I appreciate everything you've done for me."
Ever so quietly she slipped down so that her feet touched the solid ground once more. Now freed from the boy's fingers Arima found herself twisting her hands together shyly, "I suppose it'll be dark enough soon. The last thing I need is for my mentor to harass me for arriving late." It would mean more work since he hated for her to worry him. Sighing Arima bowed her head before peeking back up at Leukos. Was...was this really it? "Are you truly going to be leaving the city for now? Will...your troupe come back? I mean..." Glancing away as her cheeks blazed Arima twisted her fingers once more, "So I can watch the show again in the future of course. I truly enjoyed it."

Leukos smiled at her, letting his thumb rub against her hand. "The pleasure was all mine, thank you for taking time out of your busy day to come spend time with a hooligan like me." He felt a kernel of disappointment when she slipped off the fence and took her fingers away. But the adorable blush on her cheeks definitely helped make up for it.
He hopped down to join her on the ground as well, reclining on the posts, talking into the darkening air, "Well, I don't want to get you in any trouble or anything, it's probably best you head home now...and there's the final setup for dinner tonight I should probably help out with..." He fiddled with a long lock of his hair that had escaped his updo, glancing over at Arima, "Regrettably, this is the last day we'll be in the city. And we won't be coming back for a long time; there are quite a few more places we have to visit before we make our rounds again..."
He turned to her and looked down at her through his long lashes, "Miss Arima..." He gently reached out to take her hand, planting a soft kiss against her knuckles. "I would love to be able to see you again when we return. I'll count the days...I hope you'll remember this silly circus boy. I look forward to seeing you become an even more enchanting young lady..."[10/10]

"Sounds like this is it then....for today at least." Replied Arima quietly with a sad smile, "I wish you the best when traveling." Truly she didn't know what to do in this situation as she had never met anyone such as Leukos before. He was so kind yet so playful with her that it baffled her! Still, it was refreshing. It was far easier to breath around him than any of those that her mother had her interacting with.
As he took her hand Arima's blush returned, "How could I forget you?" She offered him a sincere smile, "This day truly was magical and I appreciate everything you've done for me. When the circus returns do not worry I'll make certain to be one of the first visitors." She offered with a grin, "How could I miss such an amazing show now that I know what it is like? I should be the one hoping that when we meet again that you haven't forgotten me in the flurry of others you'll be interacting with as you travel."
"Dedicated healer perhaps rather than enchanting." Arima found herself teasing lightly in an attempt to ease the heavy mood she was feeling at this farewell, "I'll be waiting to see what type of enchanting person you become instead." She bowed her head politely, "I'll see you again, Leukos. Promise?"

Sabra Knight Alright, I'm just gonna add a farewell post, and then we're wrapped up! Leukos smiled sweetly at her, a well practiced mask he liked to wear to hide his sadness; he was used to never seeing people again. Being a part of a troupe of wanderers, it just came as part of the deal. But Arima was such a lovely person to be around, he let himself hope that this time might be different, that she really wouldn't forget him, "That's a promise that I'd love to keep." He released her hand and linked arms with her again, "Let me escort you to the exit, you deserve a proper sendoff."
They made their way back to the entrance of the circus grounds, a silent heaviness between them. All too soon they were at the end of the tour. Leukos took her hand again and gave it one final kiss, a gentleman's goodbye. "Farewell Miss Arima, it was a pleasure. Until we meet again." He waved goodbye to her as she walked off into the dusk, a lovely doll he had been allowed to play with, if only for a day. And that was enough for him.
Or so he liked to tell himself...[11/10]
