Hexxis had reached up to her left shoulder to rub it slightly, the warmth on her hands transferred from the mug felt relaxing to the injury that still persisted however small now. She waited until he settled into the chair at the table with her to give her full attention to him once again. He explained why it took him so long to get there. That he'd surveyed videos to make sure that he didn't control her. It was a concept that was slightly confusing, being that she had been used her whole life, and why he would question it.. before realizing it was because he had never controlled her was the purpose of even bringing it up. Making her further question if Zephyr had truly been the only person she'd interacted with that hadn't tried to control her in some way.
She nodded, "After Tri teleported us away from you, I woke up and he offered to go back the next day. Only the first out of many more irrational and illogical words and actions that would soon come from that very conversation. He gave me a choice, to go back, or to join the contract a month early. I hadn't told you back then, but I had offered to help my father's debt to a contract for six months. I didn't want you to be hurt by that knowledge, so I did not speak of it. Regardless, I chose to go early as the only reason we had been so close to Sanctuary was an attempt to find my brother within a month before the contract began." she began, her eyes steady on him. "He questioned me about my love for you. And at the time, I could not solidly give him an answer to whether I felt I did after the things he spoke about. He spoke ill of you and I never defended you to him. I regret that now. He insinuated that our love was not real but that I would need to learn that on my own." a frown began on her face, still calm but slowly showing how much strain it had been on her. "He asked me why I stayed with him, and I told him because I chose to, but he did not feel it was enough. He told me that even if I wished to stay, he would send me back to you regardless. To take responsibility and learn my mistakes myself." her hands tensed as a small wave of pain hit her within her chest, her eyes looking downward as she continued. "I did not understand why he would do that. To explain to me that everything I had done was wrong and still force the decision for me to go back to you."
She swallowed hard, her breath becoming shaky. "It did not matter if he sought to push me away entirely or not, everything hurt. All I ever wanted was for everyone to be together. Idealism seems to be something I have inherited as I understand it. I chose Tri over and over again and it never mattered. Each time, I only ended up hurting everyone.. especially you. Because you were the more understanding one, I subconsciously exploited that knowing that you would always be there, so that I could get Tri to reason with it, but it failed. And in the end, I was only left with the overwhelming feeling that I had been an inadequate person all along. With no redeeming qualities to call my own, and nothing to show for my efforts. Nothing I did would make my father happy. And despite the decisions I have made, it had only been through an illusion of choice that I would find an error in what I chose." she was fighting back tears now, a deeply somber expression on her face even if it was still stifled in its own way, her way.
"He told me to call you and I refused. I had been scared that maybe Tri had been correct about you. That you'd been a dishonest person with me and that you would not stay with me, the insinuation that I did not mean as much to you as I thought I had been. So I left Tri to be alone and to test that by waiting here to see if you would keep your word... Although, when I came to Belosh, I began to research all I could about the things Tri spoke of and found myself so unworthy of any outcome where I would garner either you or Tri and certainly not both. Tri was not happy to find I was not, in fact, searching for you here like I had originally explained to him. I compromised that I would wait two more weeks before calling you to find out why you had lied to me and immediately return with Tri. But then, here you are... and still claiming to love me. Just as always." she took another shaky breath as she fought back tears.
Gathering the courage to finally look into his eyes once more, she gave a very faint smile even if she was about to cry. "If the problem with Tri is the existence of my love for you and your continued appearance and attempts to be in my life, then it is something I will have to accept. I no longer desire to keep you at bay and I will not deny or question that I do certainly have deep feelings for you. Feelings of love." she reached her hands to rest on his across the table. "Despite my being made into a weapon and used as such, I have come to understand that I don't care about being a weapon as long as I am the wielder of my own power. I choose when I am the weapon, and when I am just a person. Tri has given me that opportunity and I am eternally grateful for it. I can learn to be the person I was never allowed to be, and I look forward to that one day. To achieve those goals. I had hoped to learn those skills with Tri, but I feel that is no longer an option." Quiet tears broke through, running down her cheeks as her smile grew just a bit. "And it is in this notion, that I would like to revisit the conversation regarding our relationship. I still have little understanding of organic romance and whether I even possess the component, but I would like to try if that is an option with you. You and I are no longer partners, but I would like to propose the idea of the common relationship terms for boyfriend and girlfriend. Is that.. acceptable?" her hands were shaking as she stared at him in nervous anticipation for an answer.

Sitting there and listening to Hexxis as she spoke, Zephyr kept his soft gaze on her, her words being the most she had told him in a very long time. As it looked like she was about to cry, he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, smiling softly but his brows furrowed with worry. Feeling her hand on his, he smiled a little bit more, the smile growing wider at her final question.
"It would be more than acceptable, Hexxis.." he whispered, leaning over and placing a gentle kiss on her cheek. "We don't have to rush into anything, I want to make sure you're comfortable with anything and everything that we do or that I do."

She stared at him, as his growing smile made her even more scared, like looking into some great unknown that she was compelled to walk straight into. She almost didn't realize she had been literally holding her breath as she waited for him to speak. However, the moment he did, his answer immediately washed away any doubt in her mind about him. Relief and a steady ache in her heart that oddly seemed right. A smile grew on her face, more than it ever had before, the endless stream of tears on her face as she could hold them back.
He kissed her cheek as she reach a hand to the side of his face and moved to kiss to his lips, gently, keeping it at that despite the desire for more than that. She had heard his words, and nodded. "...I trust you."
She felt overwhelmed but on an entirely different feeling than what she had felt before, getting up suddenly to move to him. She stumbled slightly, forgetting her injury and even still not caring as her left leg gave out from pain and she practically threw herself to hug him. Her embrace was tight, conveying just how much she had missed him from her time away and what she'd endured. "I love you, Zephyr."

Smiling into the kiss, he broke it slowly and stared into her eyes, his own gold ones bright with happiness as he pulled back. "and I trust you, as it should be.." he smiled more. Quickly moving to catch her as she pretty much fell on top of him to hug him, Zephyr pulled her onto his lap, wanting her to not move too much if she was having issues moving about. "I love you too, forever and always." Zephyr held her close, resting his chin on her left shoulder and closed his eyes.
"I missed you so much.."

She was moved into his lap with ease, being normally lighter, as she kept her arms wrapped around him, resting her head on his left shoulder in turn. She didn't want to let go, and she certainly didn't want to stop now. She felt the warmth of his body next to hers and understood what he meant. "I missed you as well.. far more than I expected.."
After quite a few minutes, she sighed. "I should.. let you finish here and return home.." she muttered softly, the reluctance to even say it strong in her voice. "I can.. come visit you when I get off of work tomorrow." she tried to reason with mostly herself. "I work in the library not far from here. Well, actually I work there temporarily until I am able to play the guitar again without it causing pain. And by the judge of this trial, likely one more week." she explained further. "After that, I intended to just perform again, but Tri suggested I didn't since it garners too much attention, so after a week, I am unsure. Though, I have a wide skill set and can adapt quickly, so it will be no trouble to find other solutions." she spoke softly, at this point, just stalling for more time.

Gently rubbing her back, Zephyr closed his eyes and just enjoyed their closeness. He had missed it so much, much more than he himself would like to admit at times, to the point that he had found himself curling up against a body pillow to keep himself company during the night.
As Hexxis spoke, he nodded a little, "Well, you can always start working here... I was planning on putting in a small library or book store here..you could work here and stay with me maybe..?" he offered, looking through the window out into the dark night that had fallen easily. "I actually live upstairs, it was easier this way with how early I'd be opening this place..."

The feeling of his hand against her back was such a relaxing comfort she could honestly just fall asleep right there. Something she had missed since leaving to be with her family.
He offered her to work there and she pushed back just enough to look into his gold eyes, "...work here.. and stay with you?.." she repeated, hopeful. It was very similar to what her arrangements were now, but now she could stay with him again and this would work out for her life. "I can talk to Ameila tomorrow about it... but yes.. I would love to come and work here and stay with you." she answered with a slight smile and returned to hug him again. After a few more moments, she sighed. "I should go.. but I don't want to leave." she whispered, obviously having a difficult time with the decision to go already or to keep putting it off.

Zephyr smiled a bit, wanting to keep her close. "Maybe... you can let Ameila know that you're safe and okay but you're spending the night here?" he suggested, the offer out in the open as he did live just up stairs. All he did want to do was fall asleep next to her.

She thought on his suggestion then slowly nodded. Reluctantly, she leaned away from him and reached for her purse, pulling out one cellphone, but it wasn't the right one, then pulling out the other one that looked older and more used. She slid it unlocked and began a text message. "It would be too late to call her. She might be asleep. I will text her, so that she can read it when she wakes up. She is aware of my odd habits and would understand." she muttered as she typed. It was a quick message that she was staying out and wasn't coming home that night but was safe and would still open the library tomorrow as scheduled. With that, she locked the phone and put it back into her purse. "Thank you.. for letting me stay." she spoke, knowing she didn't have to thank him, but the words had already left her mouth.
Hexxis came to a stand and took up her purse and picked up the hot chocolate, drinking it even though it wasn't hot anymore. A slight frown came to her but she didn't want to be rude by not drinking it after he went through the trouble of making it. She put pressure on her left leg a bit more, feeling a bit more stable even if there was still a little pain. "I will have to call Tri tomorrow.. and tell him as well." she informed quietly, finishing the hot chocolate and holding out the mug to Zephyr. She looked at him and her faint smile began to return.
'For some odd reason, I can't recall why I was ever so scared to see you again. Rather, I remember what my reasoning was, but not why I felt that way.. Looking at you, I just know that what I feel is real, and that you also feel this way too.'

Zephyr smiled a little more, watching as she texted her friend and nodding, chuckling a little as she thanked him. Running a hand through his own hair, he shook his head just a little bit. "You don't need to thank me." he said softly as he took the mug after she had finished drinking the hot chocolate. Moving to stand himself, he moved over to the counter to finish up cleaning, "Well..I'll be quiet while you do that call if I'm around, then. As he's not too fond of me." he laughed softly, seemingly not upset that her father didn't like him at all.
"You can keep sitting while I clean up a bit more - just a couple minor things and I'll be done." he said softly as he set the mug down next to a couple others before he ran them through a small, hidden dish washer under the counter.
As that was going, he started to pack away any pastries, which there weren't many left. "I need to see if I can get someone to make pastries cheaper...maybe have someone in house.." he muttered, looking over to her as her thoughts entered his head. 'Fear is a strange thing...but I am glad that we're back together. I missed seeing your small smiles.'

She frowned slightly at the mention of Tri not being to fond of Zephyr. "He told me that I missed you as much as he would like to see you dead." she responded with defeat in her voice. "But yes, that would be preferable. Even though it will be telling him I am with you, it's best to minimize it as much as possible for the sake of all parties involved."
She nodded as he told her she could continue sitting and placed a hand on the table to stabilize herself as she moved to sit. She watched him as he finished cleaning up in the shop. His commentary caused her to pause. "If you have an oven and the recipes for pastries you would like, I can bake them. I hardly sleep so I able to get up early to bake for your shop in that arrangement." she offered.
She darted her eyes away subtly, as if to show shyness even if her expression didn't change from her normal blank one. 'I am just relieved and.. happy.. that you are here. And I am elated to be able to be with you. There was so much that I didn't understand that somehow becomes so clear when I look at you. It makes no sense, but feels completely rational like this is how it was meant to be. It is by far the strangest feeling I've ever had, but it doesn't worry me in the slightest.'

Looking up as Hexxis offered to bake for the shop, he smiled wide, "Well, if you'd be okay with that, it would be fantastic!" his smile died down as he thought about how that would work to begin with. It would, overall, be easier and cheaper to have Hexxis do that, but he was worried if she would enjoy baking that much and getting up that early nearly every morning. Though, as he thought about it more, the worry of the phrase i hardly sleep came back, but he would try to remember that later.
'I am happy to be with you too, it's been a rough month.. one that I sort of wished had gone faster, as the first two weeks seemed to drag on so long that I was worried that I would never make it here or that I would never see you again...but you're here. We're here.' He smiled softly, and looked over to her before he finished up putting the pastries away and in a box that he was going to take to an orphanage to give as a donation. Stretching a bit, he walked out from behind the counter and over to her and held out his hand.
"Shall I show you the house?" he asked with his usual charming smile.

She nodded, a certain warmth from his wide smile, just seeing him so happy. "I would enjoy it." she responded softly. Hexxis looked around the shop, now getting a good look around for once as she waited for Zephyr. 'My time spent here.. although felt like forever, was filled with a lot experiences. Good and bad.'
She paused. "Such as meeting Witley. He's an orphan child I met on the street and mistakenly gave him five hundred dollars because I did not want him to be hungry. Later, my action was corrected and was given to the orphanage itself since a child cannot be given that much money. I spent a lot of time with him and even took him to one of my shows." she had a slight pained frown on her face. "He was kidnapped during my performance and I jumped into the street to save him. I did, but at the cost of being hit by an oncoming vehicle. I was hospitalized for several days, and even now, a month later, still have difficulty walking. Through that, I met Ameila, my roommate and boss. She kindly offer me the job and a place to stay." she turned to look at Zephyr. "And now I have met you again in this city..." the faint smile returning to her lips yet again, although fleeting.
As he moved around the counter to her, she watched him, taking his hand when he offered it. Hexxis nodded as she came to a stand, making sure to go easy on her leg unlike last time. "Please."

Zephyr listened as she spoke, nodding a bit, though as she mentioned the child, he vaguely wondered if they would even be able to adopt him - even if they were in Belosh, a Meta adopting a human or true race child might be a little too odd. For now, they could at least help the orphanage he was a part of to make sure that everyone - not just Witley - got what they needed.
Taking her hand and squeezing it gently, he lead her up to the actual back of the house and to a door that was locked. Unlocking it with a key, he lead her up the steps and into his apartment. There were a couple boxes - five at most - that held what he actually needed. It was as spacious as the store below it, though it had minimal furnishings and decor. Making it quite obvious he was in a mixture of still moving and realizing that he had very few things he wanted to bring with him to his new home.

Hexxis held firmly to his hand, taking up her guitar case with her upstairs. She still had a slight limp as she walked led by him. She set her case down at the front door as they entered. She took a glance around the bare home, not exactly surprised that there wasn't much here. It made sense with moving from place to place, living in hotel rooms and safe houses.
"Living here." she spoke softly. It was silent for a bit before she looked to Zephyr and a gave a faint smile. "Would you like.. if I made you coffee?" she asked, knowing it was an odd question but she felt compelled to ask. She had run out of things to say and at that point was just resisting the urge to just hug him and never let him go. Even if it wouldn't be all that bad.
