"I always do." She disappeared for a moment three doors down, grabbed two beers and her shitty little speaker dock.
When she returned she looked to Shun to tell her where he wanted her set up.

Shun waited by the door, rubbing his head lightly while Chel had run off to fetch the speaker. Once she was back, he moved over by the couch and pointed out where a power strip was at its side. It was as good of a spot as any.
Next to his TV was a couple of new things on the ground. They were all still in their boxes for the time being, but they were all various bits of equipment and supplies for keeping some sort of small animal.

Chel went to plug things in, gesturing he take the couch.
As she went through her songs she had to ask, "You gettin' a pet?" Then a soft guitar riff began to play from the speakers. Nothing energetic, something surprisingly mellow.

"What does it look like?" Shun grunted as he moved his guitar aside for the time being. He settled onto the couch, slumping a bit. His head tilted to the side as the music started to come on through the speaker. There, he remained still and silent for a little while, to just listen.

Chel rather than joining him on the couch or the seat near it took to the floor beside the couch. She flattened out on her back lying parallel to Shun with her head up near his, her pink hair spreading behind her.
"Like nothin' some ACDC can't fix." She closed her eyes for the time being.

At first Shun just raised his brow at Chel, given her choice of location. But if she really wanted to lay on the floor, that was on her.
"Lots of s**t it cannot fix..." he muttered under his breath, closing his eyes as well.

She was quiet for a few songs, letting the playlist play out without interruption. Unlike Shun, Chel preferred noise for relaxation and music allowed her that without needing anybody else. She bothered less people that way.
Somehow she didn't think Shun had fallen asleep, and she hadn't either. "What made you want a little furry dude?"

Shun had relaxed a fair bit, and with his eyes closed, he might have been mistaken as asleep. He was still awake, just in a sort of meditative state. One that had been interrupted once Chel spoke up again. A low grunt escaped him, and he cracked an eye open to glance towards the ground where she was.
"Why do you ask?"

"Just wonderin'. Yer not exactly the lovin', cooin' type." Chel hadn't opened her eyes. She was just speaking quietly over the music.

"You are right. I am not," he stated quietly. There was a bit of hesitation before he continued to speak.
"I just figured it might be good for me."

"I hear you. I love animals. They real nice an' they don't judge or nothin'. Never could have one growin' up on account of us bein' broke as ********>" She thought she remembered a dog when she was really little. But even then it was barely a memory.
She let out a lengthy breath, something between relaxation and stress. "What's eatin' you lately?"

His eyes closed once more as he slowly exhaled, "You do not need to hear it."

She laughed, in spite of herself. "I ain't never need t'do nothin'. But I do want t'hear it. Yer my friend."
A particularly lengthy guitar riff began as her sentence ended.
