Whilst Reinerite had no idea about what had caused the scowl on the face of the Lieutenant that she had been partnered with, the other woman's expression smoothed into a smile at her approach...
And whilst Reinerite had no idea what the other meant by General Leucite being a bit of a preacher or why she didn't want to get to close to him, she was perfectly happy to pick up the supplies and so she nodded at Calomeland headed for the table.
Unfortunately her experience of 'first aid' to date pretty much boiled down to plasters (band aids), antiseptic wipes and on occasion tubigrip and so it was hard for her to know just what they would be needing and whilst Reinerite tried to err on the side of not just taking everything on the table, she perhaps erred too much.
Even to her, her efforts didn't look too much making Reinerite wish that she'd spent a little longer at the table.
She didn't say anything however as she walked back to where Calomel was and carefully laid the supplies down, deciding that they would just have to make it work - although it didn't stop a part of her from hoping that perhaps their station might have a bit extra.

Once the partnerships were made, Raspite turned his head in the direction of the one that would be his. Giving just a simple nod, he moved toward the table of supplies, he gathering what he could in his arms and bringing them back to stand beside Cuprite.
He gave another nod, showing that he was certain that they had what was needed before glancing at the stations. :it will be interesting to see what sort of first aid and care w will be dealing with" he grinned, certain it would be more than just broken bones.

Arseno probably should have waited, but decided that he would go and try to get their supplies first so that they could get to their station as soon as possible. He was glad that he had paid attention to Leucite's words as he now knew what his partner for this class looked like.
Looking at the table he figured that they would need quite a few supplies and gathered up an armful. He gave a nod to his partner in acknowledgement before getting the supplies however.
((sorry for the late reply!))

Huntite blinked in surprise when Valeria came up and gave him a hug but gave her a return hug and a small smile. He whispered his own greeting and a 'good luck' with the class before they had to separate to go into their groups.
He moved over to join Arsenopyrite and gave the other man a nod hello before the other moved to get the supplies. "Looks like you got everything needed and then some." He said with a small smile.

Cuprite nodded back to Raspite when he saw the others acknowledgement, though he also gave a smile. When the other man returned with the supplies and spoke up the blond offered to talk half of what Raspite was holding. "It certainly will. Have you had any sort of first aid training before?" He asked with a curious look.

Lopezite was generally on time, and often prided himself on his punctuality. Tonight was an exception, and not one that was sitting well with him. He had finished work just on time, gotten ready, gotten powered up, and waited. And waited.
And checked his phone, and waited.
And then, finally, got picked up and dropped off at the Dark Kingdom, but his feathers were already ruffled. Having an unreliable General was detrimental to many things, including--first and foremost--his introduction and guidance through the Negaverse.
Which was precisely why he wanted to attend General Leucite’s classes.
Which made him a little extra bitter about being late to the Training Corps, tonight.
But he hoped late was better than absent.
When he stepped into the room, he immediately felt like the odd one out--mostly because they were already engaged in teams or projects, or something. He doubted he could slip in quietly, so instead reluctantly made eye contact with Leucite and raised a hand in greeting.
He didn’t want to interrupt whatever he was presently teaching, but equally did not want to stand off to the side if that wasn’t what was expected of him.

Up at the table, with the supplies, Valeria reached out to grab whatever she could, hoping she had enough things. There were other people up here though and hands all over the place. Grabbing what she could she hurried to remove herself from the group and made her way back to her partner for the exercise.
Returning to her partner, and their table, Valeria finally was able to set things down and get a look at what she had grabbed for them to work with.
Lopezite's lateness was noticed, and as he made eye contact with Leucite and waved his hand, then general raised his own, and motioned for the Lieutenant to join him by the table. Once he arrived he cleared his throat, noticing that all the teams had all gathered their supplies.
"Well then, let us begin," He said, with a nod of his head, directing the group's attention back to himself and now the newly arrived Lopezite.
"I will go ahead and begin the lecture portion of the class. Then we will move on to the practical assessment." He said. "So please, be sure to pay attention, your speed and skill will be judged on the practical."
"Lopezite has been so kind as to volunteer himself as the showcase for tonight's lecture." Leucite continued, moving over to the table and grabbing a roll of bandages and unspooling it in his hand.
"So, let us say that you run into a fellow officer who's been cut pretty badly and you need to stop the bleeding..." Leucite began. "First, you apply pressure to the wound with whatever clean material is available, then you bandage it shut... like so."
Leucite took his time, ensuring that the group could watch him as he bandaged Lopezite's uninjured arm. Then he looked back to the group.
"But what if the bleeding doesn't stop?" He asked, the question obviously rhetorical as he continued into his lecture. "That is when you apply a tourniquet to the wound."
Picking up one of the tourniquet kits from the table, Lecuite placed it rough two-thirds the way up Lopenzite's bicep. "When placing a tourniquet, do not place it on any joints... It won't work, and you'll pretty much be begging for an amuptation anyway."
Lecuite tightened the tourniquet on Lopenzite's arm, until the Lieutenant would find his arm painfully numb. "Keep in mind that a tourniquet is a temporary stop gap... too long and the limb will need to be removed... and nobody wants that."
Leaving the tourniquet on, Leucite grabbed more bandages and some tape, and move them around the front of Lopezite.
"Another common injury you might run into is impalement. wounds of that nature need to be sealed quickly. If the object is still in the wound, leave it in, and instead, tape around it with the bandages. The same goes for gunshot wounds, though those require quick evacuation to medical care as soon as possible."
For the last part, Lecuite held up a single bandage, and pointed at Loezite's face. "Burns should be treated with a dry bandage cover, do not apply any liquids to the surface. Simply cover them and get them to medical care."
With that, Leucite wrapped the bandage over one of Lopezite's eyes, and then nodded his head.
"Now then... Team 1 You will be at Station 3. Team 2 you will be at Station 1. Team 3 You will be at Station 4, and Team 4 will be at Station 2." He clapped his hands together.
"You will be timed, and your skills will be checked upon completion. Lopezite, you're with me." Leucite said. "The rest of you. Begin!"

The lecture is over and the practical exercise starts now! Quickly hurry over to your station, get through the plastic sheets and check up on your patient! Each dummy has a situation card, detailing each of the injuries your characters will need to treat so the "victim" can be moved.
Each group will need to treat the following injuries: Deep cuts (5 points), excessive bleeding(10 points), puncture wounds(25 points), and burns(15 points). There is also a bonus card for a gunshot wound, which is worth 35 points.
Each character on the team will roll a die, and the team needs to reach the number, equal to or greater than the point value of each wound.
If your group rolled a 1: Each character rolls a six sided die.
If your group rolled 2-4: Each character rolls an eight sided die
If your group rolled a 5: Each character may roll a ten sided die - or, if they want to give some of their extra material to a team that rolled a one, they may roll an eight sided die and the team that rolled a one may ALSO roll an eight sided die.
You may begin rolling... NOW! Keep an eye out for situational updates. Once your team has completed all the tasks. Quote Torvil and he will tally up the scores.

Reinerite had been busy trying to surreptitiously check the station to see if there were any supplies and so hadn't immediately noticed that the late arrival, although she had noticed - well more like had been looking up - whenLeucitesuddenly raised his hand and recognised the dark-haired Lieutenant as having been there at the previous session.
Note to self she told herself silently asLopezitefound himself immediately volunteered. Late attendees will find themselves volunteered and it seemed like a relatively easy assumption to make given that the two that had arrived late to the previous session had also found themselves volunteered.
She did her best to listen carefully as Leucite outlined the different injuries that they might encounter and whilst her face paled slightly at the General's mention of impalement and gunshot wounds, she also jotted down a few notes.
The supplies that she had managed to gather started to look even less sufficient as Reinerite realised the amount of things that she andCalomelwould need to 'treat', however she dutifully stepped towards Station 1 so that she could do her part in making what they had work.
Calomel silently thought to herself that perhaps SHE should have gone up there to get supplies. She was sure that her partner was more than a nice enough person to work with but the supplies she had gathered was just sad. How were they expected to bandaged up all that the General had asked of them with the measly amount of supplies. Ah, there wasn't that much to do at this point, so she did the same as her companion and stood beside her at their table. None of the injuries that the General mentioned particularly made her nervous or worried about it. After all, she was a teacher, she had to know alot of the first aid stuff in the first place.
"Don't worry, Reinerite. We can still do this. After all, what's the likelihood of having all of this in the middle of battle? You can make a tourniquet out of a stick and scraps of fabric in the worse case scenario." She didn't know just how confident her companion was in her ability, but that was fine. Calomel could have the confidence for both of them. And besides, this little room they were wouldn't be at all what they faced out their on the field. No, it would be even worse.

What I found amusing about this is that I JUST took a First Aid Class on this exact stuff yesterday. xD

Reinerite's grey eyes looked over towardsCalomeland whilst she didn't smile, she did nod at the older woman as her hand reached towards the situation card with the training dummy.
"We will do this"she agreed, subtly - or so she thought - changing some of the words that Calomel had said, because she intended to put her all into doing her part to make sure that they didn't fail the training exercise.
"First thing listed here is deep cuts"she said, even as her mind thought back to whatLeucitehad told them during his demonstration.
"We'll need to apply pressure first"she continued as she looked through something that could be used to do just that."

Lopezite had not hesitated to join Leucite's side, but he was not particularly delighted with the extra attention. He remained still while Leucite did his demonstration, keeping his eye on the General as he moved. He was not unfamiliar with bandaging injuries; he'd had his fair share of scrapes before, but he was fortunate enough that he had never had anything severe. Nothing that had come close to killing him, at least.
He was quiet as Leucite continued his demonstration but was immediately relieved when he set the other groups on their tasks. With them focused on their own tasks, he finally moved his hand, clenching and unclenching it into a fist as he tried to give some movement--or at least some sensation other than the tingling pain.
He waited a moment after Leucite had instructed the teams before he cleared his throat and turned to face the General a bit more. "I apologize," he said after a second. "I hadn't meant to interrupt your class. I hope I haven't inconvenienced you."
There was a part of him that wanted to explain that he very much had not wanted to be late, but that would have required throwing someone else under the bus, and that was dangerously close to sounding like an excuse. Leucite might not have been his general, but it didn't mean that he didn't respect him and want to stay in good graces.
He wiggled his nose a bit, not making an effort to dislodge the bandage Leucite had placed over his eye but certainly attempting to scratch the itch it was causing.

"Apply pressure? If it's a deep cut then first we would first apply as many bandages as it takes to make sure that the bleeding would stop. If it does not, then we use the tourniquet, write down the time we used to tighten it, then take the person in for immediate care. There should be no hesitation there, lest the tourniquet be on too long, and the whole limb would be lost." In a swift moment, Calomel grabbed the dressing and began to press it onto the simulated cut.
Whilst it was perhaps not intentional,Calomel'sresponse had grated, with the older woman coming across as being somewhat sanctimonious.
She also hadn't thought much of Calomel's whole 'apply as many bandages as it takes' comment, because whilst Reinerite didn't know much about first aid outside of plasters (band aids) and antiseptic wipes, even she see the value of using pressure in conjunction with the bandages.
However for better or for worse Calomel was her partner and Reinerite also had no intention of failing this exercise and so she hunted through their supplies for what she thought was the tourniquet kit before holding it out to Calomel.

Leucite nodded quietly at Lopezite, and finally moved over and undid the bandages and other items from the other man's frame. "Just try to endeavor to be on time next time, yes?" The General said with a small nod of his head. He placed the items on the table again, before moving over to grab the small bag from near the table and place it on top.
He pulled out a few items. A couple gas masks and some round, blue canisters, along with some more squat green ones. The squat green ones he attached to the gas masks, handing one to Lopezite, he nodded his head.
"Come by my office tomorrow, and we'll talk more about making up this class." He said with a small smile. "I will want to test you on the actual skills before I can pass you."
With that, he handed Lopezite one of the masks. "You'll want to put this on." He said. Before taking four of the blue canisters, and moving over to the stations.
He pulled the pin of the first, and it began to hiss with a white mist, before he rolled it under the plastic sheeting.
"Oh dear!" He called out, "It looks like your triage area has been hit by a senshi magic attack, you better hurry up and get your patient taken care of before it takes you out as well!"
He pulled the pin on each canister, and each canister gave the same white fog. This fog began to quickly fill each of the stations, contained in the plastic sheets and slowly making it's way up and over them.
Each canister had white words stenciled on the side. TEAR GAS.
The fog began to burn at the skin, and eyes would begin to water, and throats would begin to burn and ache as the chemicals in the gas began to attack the sensitive areas of the unprotected bodies.
"Chop, chop... If you lead the triage area without your patient being stablized... you fail!"
Quote:
Oh dear, looks like Leucite has thrown everyone a bit of a curve ball!
Everyone now must roll a six sided die, as now you're trying to do all of these activities through burning eyes and coughing fits as the tear gas quickly fills up your station!
Calomel knew that they were all inexperienced in this, but REALLY?
"Darling... That's not a tourniquet. Those are a pair of surgical clamps. And use, those WOULD be helpful if we were actually doing surgery... No. Look for the item that is actually labeled as 'tourniquet'." That particular piece of equipment had a label on it, but was the other woman too dazed and worried to have even seen it? Didn't matter, they had a job to do.
What the Lieutenant didn't expect, however, was the teacher to do a d**k move and toss tear gas at them without further explanation. She quickly summoned her weapon, a simple cowl and used the surgical scissors to slice it in half, before handing part to Reinerite and then wrapping her own piece around her face.
"This will help for a little bit, but we must work quickly!" She stated, grabbing the Tourniquet herself to continue to 'attempt to stop the bleeding' on their dummy. What an awful class this was already! Yes, she knew they were supposed to prepare for a situation like this, but there were better ways than using tear gas on their own troops! She prayed that none of her comrades had any sort of respiratory problems...
litian
Don't worry, Calomel isn't doing too well herself! xD I don't know if we were supposed to get the extra gas masks or not though.
