At least Songtao was able to take a bit of the blow for Izzy, who wasn't as exhausted after this blow compared to previous ones. With what felt like a second wind, Izzy leapt forward at the cougar and boldly struck it across the head. The big cat swayed on its feet for a moment.

Songtao took a deep breath, trying to anticipate the animal's next move, with mixed results. Once again she was successful in protecting herself from the cougar, but unable to protect Izzy completely. She made a mental note to attend more training sessions after they recovered.

Izzy got the cougar one last time, with the blunt end of the spear as she spun back around towards Songtao. Just as Izzy was panting, and wondering how long her goddess's shield would hold out, the shine seemed to dim from the cougar's eye. It tried to bare its teeth, but seemed to lose the energy it needed to do such a thing. Or perhaps, it just lost its will. The cougar hung its head low, and crouched low to the ground, like a shamed kitten. It even mewled a soft noise of regret. Izzy kept her spear leveled at it for another few moments, then cocked her head after they went too long without trading blows.
"Hey Song, I think we tamed it," Izzy said.

Songtao stripped the buckler from her arm, more than glad to get a break now that the battle was over. As she tossed the shield to the ground, she spotted a glint in the bushes next to the tree the cougar had jumped from.
"Hey, look!" after rummaging around for a moment, she produced a bottle of wine. "I wonder why this here."

Izzy whistled when Songtao produced the wine. "Whoa, I guess that is the best way this could have ended." The Artemis Chosen nosed around the bush as well, hoping maybe for a Jose Cuervo, but that bottle must have been it for the booze. Izzy did spy a pretty little flower though, and plucked it up and put it by her ear.
The young woman then turned back to the cougar, who still looked sad. Izzy clapped her hands against her thighs, which caught the cat's attention. "Alright, Duchess. Let's get a move on, and maybe there will be some milk or something back at camp for you."
