A friend who listens, she replied, a good friend. Her lips curled upward into a smile and she looked down bashfully almost at her lap. A moment later she was shaking her head at Chris. No, I have not. I cannot. There was a brief pause. The gate talked about you long after you left and I heard about that.

Chris smiled at her smile, but let her continue to talk. With a blink, he suddenly realized she was blind. It was why she relied in the wind. Why she hadn't exactly seen him.
"I hope it was good things," He joked, a wry smile on his face. "Why did you call me here, exactly? It must have been for a reason, although I do enjoy talking to you."

It was, she admitted. Then she fell silent, hands twisting in her lap once more. I wanted to talk to someone who understood me. It has been a long time since someone last did so.

Chris was quiet for a second and then smiled, even though the wisteria spirit couldn't see it.
"Well then, I don't see any issue. You're better conversation than most of everything here," He said, smiling. "Do you have a name? It's rude of me to not ask, or introduce. I'm Chris."
Alg was apparently rubbing off on him. He was his son, admittedly.

Name? She blinked. I don't think I have one. I simply am.Then in far more quiet brush of wind, the words barely heard. Sometimes it is better to not have a name.

"Ah," Chris said, thinking for a moment. It made sense that she didn't have one - sometimes plants weren't named, sometimes they were. This was the otherplace.
"Sometimes, it is, I do agree. Is it okay if I call you Wis though?"

A surprised look came across her face, lips parted briefly into an 'o' before she nodded rapidly. It is, she smiled. I like it.She finally stopped fiddling with her hands and, by putting the palms of them on the roots, turned herself to face him. Briefly it looked like part of her had disappeared back into the tree but it flickered away as soon as she settled. Her hand was held out towards Chris, for him to take. The skin, despite looking like normal human skin, felt like the bark of a tree once touched.

Chris smiled broadly and said, "I'm glad."
He watched with curiosity when she turned, silent for the moment. But when she held out her hand, he didn't hesitate.
It wasn't an invitation he was going to turn down.
Quietly he placed his hand into hers, the feeling slightly unnerving but somehow right.

Her eyes slid shut, that odd mismatched purple color no longer visible. She squeezed her small hand around Chris's. The warm breeze picked up once more, swirling and circling around him before it settled back down. You are very kind to us. Why is that?

"Why?" Chris asked, obviously confused. He thought on it for a few seconds, taking the time to compose his thoughts. Her hand in his was warm, the breeze was kind, and he felt.. peaceful for once.
"Because it's just.. why not be kind? What is there to be gained from being anything but? Especially when I'm being given beauty and kindness so freely. It would be awful to give anything but that back."

Because kindness is not always viewed as strength, it was a hushed wind that blew through carrying her voice, because there are those that would take and not return what has been given. Her smile was sad. Because this place has been forgotten and you are the first to return here.

"You did lead me here," He said softly, credit going to where it was due. "I wouldn't have found you if you hadn't helped me."
His own smile was sad, contemplative.
"It should be viewed as a strength though. I'm still counting it as a strength."

Only because you can hear me. My voice is not heard by all ...Her hands pushed to the roots that she was nestled in and she clearly was trying to pull herself towards Chris. It was not an easy movement and, as she lifted, her inability to walk was made even more obvious. Her legs were like the bark of the wisteria, a faint purple glow pulsing every so often like her eyes and the blossoms of the tree.

"Well," Chris said, "A collaboration then."
He shuffled forward quickly at her motions, crossing the distance between them. He didn't want to ruin her effort, but it looked like it was hard and he was willing to make it easier on her.
"Hey, I'm here," He said, "Don't go moving just for me. I'm not that special."

Wis stopped when he came closer, slumping back to the ground. Her shoulders sagged but then she nodded. Then would you come closer? Her hands were held up towards him. When he came close enough she would cup both his cheeks in her odd small hands.
