Chel | 15/25
"Oh so we're like ... we gonna play them." Chel leaned forward a bit in her seat. That sounded interesting at least.
"Whoever's on the council should try t'stop the tithe or whatever. Shouldn't a council person be able t'do that?"

Ashton Carver / 25/25 "It's hard to say if those of us who aren't particularly human can qualify at all," Ashton says, slipping into the room; her lips and nails are white and matte, cheeks scrubbed clean of any offending designs, and she casts a glance over at Eve with an annoyed slant of the eyebrows. "But I'd assume we don't -- we cannot be tithed. I haven't had much luck with information this evening, unfortunately. So are we to offer someone up for the slaughter? I do happen to know one of the guesting visitors, one of us, has a bit of a death wish."

"I don't know if it's remotely possible that one person out of 7 could stop the tithe from happening. It seems it's going to happen one way or another. But...maybe we can figure out a tithe that would work better for us? Though I don't like the idea of offering someone up for slaughter."

"It would need to be someone persuasive as hell," says Lady. "Adoelle wants to be the tithe. She wants to break the cage. But one out of seven isn't enough to stop the tithe."

Jamie Delacroix | 20/25 | listening and learning and suggesting
It felt like he should contribute, but Jamie's tongue still felt like glue in his mouth and speaking was difficult. A few times he cleared his throat, but he hadn't meant to catch anyone's attention. It simply felt uncomfortable and he attempted to remedy it.
The idea that as a moonwalker he might be safe from tithing didn't make Jamie feel all that much better, either. The idea of sacrificing anyone tonight sat like a weight in his stomach.
"Shouldn't we nominate someone who knows more about the Otherworld?" he suggested, voice a little rough as he cleared his throat again. He'd surprised himself by speaking up. "Someone with experience? Maybe... they know something we don't..."

"The Mercers are fairly knowledgeable. Though they currently are not in here to give input..." he mumbled, "Do any of you know who Ascension is? I was told she is named as such because she will Ascend if allowed. That sounds... risky."

[25/25 | EVE]: o:Eve shifts back to a human momentarily, still sitting close to Lady and gently putting an arm around her shoulders. "This is a Court," she pondered, "so whoever becomes the seventh needs to have a good reputation among them to be persuasive. It might also help," and she gave a smirk towards Ashton, "if the representative isn't fully human, given how readily they're looked down upon. You're right -- moonwalkers are exempt from tithing." Speaking in a lower voice to Lady, she asked her: "I see Jeremiah gave you his mask... does that mean you're safe now?" every1 i'm underlining NPC knowledge as it's shared for convenience :3

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25
Juniper was sitting mulling over the information being given when she remembered something that could be quite pertinent. "I'd also like to point out that I was told that 'it's a mistake to assume there will be only one death tonight. There will be only one tithe, but...'"
She glanced around. "Is there a possibility we are being distracted by the tithing thing and something else is going to happen?"

Ashton Carver 25/25 "As far as I know, Ascension Shore is the witch on the beach," Ashton shrugged, clasping hands behind her back to stand properly. "As for anything else she is -- I couldn't tell you. I only met her once or twice, when I was young, and she looked about the same way she does today when I saw her earlier." Her lips twisted upwards in a smirk when Eve confirmed her theory. "So our kind could all go maskless with no ill effects, then? I'd hate to send anyone to their deaths tonight, as a doctor. It's counterproductive to our ideals." Blade Kuroda sorta answerin' shun's q?

"So ... we really ain't got s**t," Chel said, summing up the opinions she'd heard around the table.
"Everyone wants different things an' we got nothin' but mist t'go off of." One person talking about multiple deaths, another person talking about werewolves, another person talking about Ascension.
She tried to boil it all down to one answer, but it was impossible to at this rate. "We gotta start put some pieces t'gether folks. Ain't gonna do no good f'we just go round in circles like this. Let's just start with somethin' simple- who we want to represent us humans. We'll come up with the plan later, but who do we think got the best shot of doin' the right thing?"
Chel looked to the others to decide.

Jamie Delacroix | 20/25 |
"I... would give up my mask," Jamie said quickly. "If anyone wanted it... if I really don't need it." And then he sighed. The thought still made him nervous, who could they really trust to give out viable information around here, but he tried to believe it would be alright.
"Who... would want other people to die, though? And why?" Jamie didn't have as much information as the others. All he could really do was speculate, but he wasn't one for puzzles and putting these things together was hard. "If Adoelle wants to break the cage, l-like Lady said-" he recalled a conversation he'd had with Alg before about something being caged up inside Other Ashdown "-could she be planning something else, too?"
His voice ran short when Chel spoke up and he felt a little embarrassed for thinking too hard about abstract things when they were supposed to be making decisions.
"M-Maybe... one of the Mercers? B-But like Detective Kuroda said, they aren't here..."

Zac slipped in quietly. He overheard at least the tail end of what they were saying, about his Guardian and his Husband.
"They are here" He said they just aren't in this room. He hoped people recognized him well enough, with his eyes as strange as they were.
"I was, I was told that two are missing who weren't here before, and one is here now who wasn't. It...seems important. I thought maybe some of us were missing but I haven't seen Pax or the Prideful One since before ten."

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - lurking
He wasn't necessarily in the back of the room, though Nathaniel was off to the side, leaning against one wall with his arms folded across his chest. It flattened the ruffles of his shirt, his expression a little weary behind the green and gold mask.
He said nothing at all, listening instead of contributing for once.

Chel | 15/25
Chel was a bit intrigued by "Mercers" as she'd only known one Mercer (and actually even then was a bit skeptical since it was a common last name and could have been anyone).
She waved a hand at the person who'd joined them. "Well they ain't here now. My votes on someone the council ain't know. Like a wild card kind of thing. Me and Shun an' blondie over there are out 'cause ah what we did with Melany earlier."
She pointed to Juniper. "You sound like you knew what's up." And Chel had spoken to her earlier, nice girl. "My votes on tits." Becuase when would there ever be a situation where Chel didn't vote for tits.
