			            25/25 | Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked) | I wanna go back 2 my room ;___;
 As he exits the gardens, he walks over. This isn't because Shiloh wants to, but it's because her aura is addictive. It's indicative of Lady Melany and, as he stands before her, he's already prepared to do whatever it is she demands. No matter the exhaustion, no matter his own feelings, Shiloh acts on this instinct like clockwork.

 "The... masked ones...?" Shiloh scrunched his brow in confusion, but it only lasted a moment. He could remember—blue fists, sore ribs—being alone in room, no... not alone; Thorne was there. Thorne was there and they were speaking; he remembered Ezra reading his palm and Aodelle begging them to both be kind. Well, Ezra never harmed Shiloh, but Melany...

 “She said that no one would even realize we were gone.”; those were Thorne's words, spoken to him in their momentary bout of privacy. That was when he decided—when they decided—that they would both be hurt, no matter what they did, no matter the obedience. They were trapped here forever.

 And Shiloh never really forgot, it had just been easier. Despite that, he couldn't recall what it was like before Court; did that mean... did that mean the Moonwalker from before was right? He shook his head; now wasn't the time to ponder, not when he was being questioned.

 "Well." he stared at the women, looking at her eyes and not anywhere else, "One of them has my face, doesn't he?"

 He didn't know the nuances; its personality and its actions, but he admitted what he could.

			            Zac Bantock - 25/25 - Masquerade...paper faces on parade. “Masked ones…” he said for a moment not understanding, but then it dawned on him. There were, and he’d seen in passing masked people and …at the same time unmasked people of the same. He hadn’t thought about it terribly hard before then but, now, now he understood better how no one realized they were missing. “… That’s Alois said that no one realized they were missing from town. I think that’s maybe why we didn’t. It’s kind of like, I mean this is the fairy court right? Changelings.” He said mystified. Apparently that revelation though was far too mundane. Quote: No Reward - only understood that she was referring to them vs their unmasked ones

			            cam rylan | 25/25 | doing his bestHe didn't actually know much about the masked ones, having missed the entire altercation in the ivory hall. But he did his best, pulling information he'd gleaned by overhearing snippets of conversation, glimpsing flashes of people here and there. Something about twins, something about one being masked while the other not. As for why they were here... he could only guess that they served some sort of purpose in this court. And something about the unmasked ones meant they could be in danger. "I suppose you know more than any of us do, ma'am."

			            REWARDSYou only know what Lace says directly to you.
 "If I were you," says Lace, "and I'm awfully glad I'm not... I'd see if I could get those masked doubles in a bad situation. Wouldn't you?" She fans herself. "Perhaps there's a fountain to dunk them into. Or perhaps one could simply..." She snaps her fingers. "Magic one up." "Dead flesh," repeats Lace. "Are you sure that isn't someone rather closer to me? Perhaps someone who looks rather like my twin?" She laughs. "Have you seen him tonight? Little Alex? He's the best at pretending to be what he isn't, don't you think? Just like those doubles. You can get them to speak truth, you know. All it takes is a little strength of will ." "Information," says Lace. "Isn't that what you do? Save lives? Well, consider this triage 101: you don't want those doubles alive at the end of the night. Or at least, not free. Incapacitate them with shame... tie them up and leave them in a closet somewhere." Her laugh is high-pitched and quite chilling. "Or kill them." Lace smirks. "The temperature doesn't bother me," she says. "But I see it does bother you." She taps her chin. "Aren't you even a little curious as to what they look like under their real masks? The skin they're in that's not theirs? I'd take a look... take a knife to those pretty faces." "Aren't you sweet," says Lace. "A model..." She laughs, quietly and to herself. "There are cells here. They're enchanted with truth. Perhaps you might make use of them." If anything, Lace seems a little put out that Algernon is being so polite. Still, she says, "Thank you. It's just a little something I had at home." She steps close to him, returning the courtesy of keeping her voice pitched low. "There's other ways to exempt yourself," she says. "The masks are easiest, and most visible. But there's also winning the favor of those who matter... or being selected to the tithing committee." She smiles and leans away. "I think you and yours can save four lives tonight. Too bad there's so many more attendees." "Yes," says Lace, relishing the moment. "Oh, yes. Your little friend, the bunny, he's quite familiar with my twin. Calls her 'Lady'. How cute, isn't it just? A four-letter name, just like mine." She reaches out to touch Shiloh's face. "Mother chose quite well when she chose you. So soft! Not her usual type at all." She sneers. "We'll have a lot of fun together after this." "Clever! Very clever," says Lace, applauding. "Perhaps you'd like to know that you can reverse that influence. All it takes is a little elbow grease. You already know which copy is which, so just... get the doubles out of the way! It'll all be fine."

 "I don't know much," he admitted. "Only that they aren't supposed to be here. But I haven't met any, so I have no opinion for sure."

 Despite her question, Chester initially assumed this woman and the one in the other room were twins, but it didn't take long for him to realize that there was a good chance one of the two was a double. He closed his eyes for a moment, holding in a sigh. He hoped he hadn't just offended someone.

			             connor hill - 25/25 - hellloooo nurse From what he'd heard, through eavesdropping and the information he'd been fed by Chel and Nathaniel, Connor only knew only a few things about the masks. What he knew had very little to do with the doubles, but he had heard of them, all part of being in the right place at the right time when those from the ivory hall had entered the scarlet foyer after the fight. There had been talk of duplicates, of wanting to unmask them, and Temperance had asked if she might be able to give her mask away, since she couldn't put it back on. He let the lady in on what he knew, while finishing with, "Honestly, I think it's a ******** distraction. Get everyone worrying about who has masks and who doesn't, get them focused on that, and they miss the bigger picture." He shrugged. "Much like that dress of yours is really ******** distracting to me right now...not that I'm complaining."

 Lace smiles, crooked and mean. "I think it's the other way around, my dear. The inferior copies ought to remain here, and we superior beings ought to get to leave. And why shouldn't we? We're better." She waves him off. "Run along now." "We all get off on pain somehow, don't we? Humans even have a word for it. Schadenfreude..." She smiles. "But you want to prevent pain? I'd get some dirt on one of the patrons, and quite quickly... if I were you." "You ought to tell your maskless friend to do something with it quick, before all purpose to it is gone," she says. "But you're right. It is a distraction. The intrigue here's been building for quite a while! And you're all concerned--Adoelle this, tithe that. Who cares? The sorrowful one's dead and gone..." She preens, but sends Connor away regardless of his flattery. "I do suppose," says Lace, frowning. "You should start with Lady Melany's masked attendant. Noeh, they call her. She knows where all the bodies are buried..."
