[ Temperance: 25/25 ???] She looked faintly distressed and Temperance frowned. Despite her obviously not-quite-humaness, anyone exhibiting signs of forgetfulness worried her. Temperance didn't know why it bothered her - maybe she should have gone into neuroscience - but it certainly did. In a calm voice, she explained their locale. "What is your name? If you don't know where you are; how did you get here?" She moved closer to the woman, eyes raking across her.

The Eldritch Gentleman | 25/25 | He speaks with praying lips The Eldritch Gentleman crosses the garden as though entranced. His eyes do not once waver from the young woman, as though convinced that should he look away from her, she will vanish. He steps up to her. He does not know if she recognizes him behind his mask. She poses her question. He says, "Somewhere you shouldn't be, Viv." Raises a hand to her face... but can't quite bring himself to touch her cheek.

25/25 | Shiloh Beaumont (unmasked) | The gardens are nice...
As nice as seeing Noeh was, the main hall was still overwhelming. The gardens on the other hand... they were filled with guests, but they were staggered, satellites from the crowd.
The strange, almost apparition of a girl catches Shiloh's attention, but he isn't in the mood. "Isn't it obvious?" he asks back, hand absentmindedly nursing his wrist. It's a nervous gesture, a tired one. "This is the Sorrowful One's court. Her garden. Were you not invited?" not that it mattered whether she was invited or not, but the quizzical question came out nonetheless. shibrogane 10-17 = You answer her question well enough to receive one piece of information, which may be duplicated in other favor threads.

He glanced around, "A magic party but I don't really know where- like- logistically?" The blonde shook his head, "You alright? You need help or something?"

algernon mercer || 25/25 || trying to help He didn't recognize the woman but to him she looked very much like a specter of some kind. The confusion as well seemed to fit in. Apparently otherworldly balls could be haunted.. or she had been brought here for some purpose that none of them knew. "It's a ball. Perhaps you recieved an invitation?" The older man offered her a hand, "It's getting late. Have you just arrived?" Then a reassuring smile, "Have a drink, relax, and I'm sure everything will be fine. Let me know if you need anything."

connor hill - 25/25 - hello spooky Connor had a glance around, as if not sure that this ghostly looking figure was actually addressing him. Hands went into pockets as he let out a long breath, wary of approaching too near, but willing to answer the seemingly harmless question. When he finished explaining (via pretty much reciting the invitation he had gotten), Connor decided he just had to ask. "Are you---" He began, and then stopped. She just...seemed so confused. It was enough to make him change his question. "Supposed to be here?" He asked.

Zac Bantock - 25/25 - such a short answer! Bad Zac!/b]
“I… it’s a ball, a masquerade really, it’s…there is a tithe and the masks keep us safe. We’re trying to see who we need to protect and who they want to sacrifice. “
It seemed he was too succinct, but he’d been awful, caught off guard by her washed out and translucent lavender pallor. She looked frustrated, angry even. He tried to apologize but it seemed she was having none of it.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry… I hope someone answers better than I did, I hope you’ll be alright.” He apologized before wrapped his arms around himself and exited.

Jack Hawthorn | 25/25 | answering
He gave the semi-transparent woman a strange look. "A ball for the blood moon," he replied. "For a Sorrowful One, I believe. A tithe will be taken tonight, and these masks," he tapped his, "will stave off being chosen. Some of us are attempting to determine the undercurrents of political ploys."

REWARDS You only know what the ghost says directly to you. "I think... I think I am," says the ghostly woman. "I don't remember... But I think..." She stares through Autumn. "I remember you... afraid to pay the price demanded and she dies." Vivien blinks slowly, and says, "It's alright, you know. She wasn't afraid at the end." "Yes..." The ghost agrees, but her face is distant. "But you're all looking at the wrong person... The Sorrowful One never left the Ivory Hall. They twisted her up." The ghost seems troubled by Alois's answer. "Demise... How can that be, she's already... but if she's not... Am I dead?" She shakes her head, hands rising to her temples for a moment. "Alois? I know you... you'll be here with me, soon." "Rylan," she says. "Where's Imp? He shouldn't be alone..." There's a long pause. "You'll want to save her. But some people shouldn't be saved. You just need to let her go." "I didn't," she says, "I... am I dead? I think..." Vivien sways in an errant breeze. Come to think of it, she's not dressed for a ball either. "You have nothing to worry about. There is scotch in the globe in the plum parlor." "A tithe," she says. "You'll be alright. Don't be afraid. Even when they put her name up. You'll want to stop them, but just let it happen. It'll be alright." "Ashdown!" She seizes on that word. "Home! I need to go home. Please. You have to send me back!" But Leila is given no chance to act on that: overcome in the moment, the ghost flickers and fades away. "I woke up here," says the ghost. "I'm... I think I'm dead." Up close, she looks like a concentrated lavender storm, droplets of being falling to the ground below her. Her shadow is nothing more than the damp collecting on the stones. "They won't choose you to help choose, but you're going to help the one who is chosen. So choose wisely." Vivien is silent. She reaches out and lifts his mask, and stares for a long moment. Her eyes fill with tears, her face crumples, and she vanishes from sight. "No," she says. "But you weren't invited either. She chose you because she loved your curls. And your eyes. She would love you if she knew how. But they twisted her up inside and now she only knows how to be afraid." "I am long past help," says Vivien. "But so are you. You shouldn't be here... there's a reason you powerless ones were not invited." "I never left," says the ghost. She shakes her head. "Be on your guard. Don't relax. She's twisted up but she knows you're here for her. Fear only means you're alive." "No," she says. "Blood moon? But it's only red. Red like wine. Just because it's never happened doesn't mean it has to happen. A death sticks, but there's life after." She smiles, ruefully. "Don't be afraid."

Chester Poole: 25/25, it's a goast
"This is a ball," Chester said, fingers twining together nervously in front of him. There was a ghost not six feet away. A real life talking dead person. Maybe. She could have just as easily been some sort of creature that resembled a ghost instead, but her apparent amnesia lent credence to the ghost theory. "A ball where we're supposed to prevent a murder."

Isobel Penrose || 25/25 HP || baffled but acquiescing "Um," she started, stopped and looked politely baffled for a few seconds more. Was this a ghost? An actual ghost? That's what translucent people tended to be, right? "You're... at the Court of the Sorrowful One? I think. Or is that the people, not the place?" Blinking, she shook her head; "sorry, I'm getting off-track - I'm not entirely sure of our location, to be honest. This is all a bit-" she gesticulated fruitlessly with one hand- " new to me. It's all very magical though, if that helps. Åh! And there's a tithe happening tonight, so someone is supposed to die, but I think we might be trying to prevent it. Or maybe not. It's all a bit divided at this point."

Chel | 15/25 | Confused Too
Chel continued her romp through the halls, trying to cool her head off further. It wasn't really working though; the more she thought about it the worse it got. She kept seeing other creatures that reminded her of Spinel's stupid face and that got her thinking about everything else ... It was a vicious cycle.
So when a girl grabbed her attention about asking her a question, Chel was less than hospitable.
"Where am I?"
"F'I knew I wouldn't ********' be here," Chel said gruffly, "Somewhere in Other Ashdown? Maybe?"
She crossed her arms and looked at the woman, remembering her original mission. Chel had been forgetting to collect information in her anger. "You know anythin' 'bout the sacrifice thing? How to stop it?"

Jordan Miller - 25/25 - Being unhelpful
There was someone translucent in this garden, and she had a rather confusing question. "We're at the ball for the court of the Sorrowful One," Jordan answered. This wasn't, apparently, a sufficient answer. The greyed-out woman turned away, frowning, and said nothing further to him.
