Zac Bantock - 25/25 - Shall we Dance? “D-dance with you?” He said uncertainly, but he nodded after a moment and offered his hand. There was a moment of awkwardness where he had to mentally make himself drop into the roll of ‘lead’ dancer. It was a constant debate with him when it came to more formal dancing. He sketched a bow and then too one hand, and let his other rest lightly against her waist. She was good, she was really very good, and honestly quite pretty. It felt nice to let go to the rhythm for a little while, he might not have been the best dancer but he didn’t step on her toes, and she rather seemed to enjoy herself at least. It went so much better than with that poor ‘ghost’ woman who wanted to know where she was. He half wished he could bring himself to go back and ask if she’d take a dance as an apology. But for now at least the twins were nice enough. shibrogane 10-17 = You did well enough that the twin you're dancing with will put in a good word for you with the selection committee.

A photographer he was. A dancer, he was not. He was decent, but it was clear that July could find better.

REWARDS You only know what a twin says directly to you. July laughs. "Father's the one who had us turn up this late," she says. "We had business to attend to." She takes the lead from Alois and waltzes him gently about the cleared dance floor, ending with a salacious dip before pulling him back up. "Melany wants you dead," she says in his ear. "Father will try to stop it, but you know he looks to her in this matter." She steps back. "You're a lovely dancer. Maybe Father should add that to your lesson plans. We'd make quite the pair." September nods. She's less effervescent than her twin, but she's still helpful. "The masks aren't the only key," she says. "The masked ones are all here to watch you die... but also to ensure the Sorrowful One sees them, and knows they follow her still. You're already on her bad side, but I'll put a good word in with my father for you." July takes Marcus's hand and leads him through the dance, palms barely touching and gratuitous room for Jesus between them. "We're not in this to humiliate anyone," says July. "For what it's worth, I'll mention you to Father as a good candidate for the honor of selecting the tithe." Jeremiah gets a bright smile from July, and she says, "Thank you. Father will be delighted to hear that you're such a gentleman, you know. Maybe he'll even let you help choose who lives and who dies." July does enjoy that dance, it's true. She grins brightly, her expression effervescent. "One good turn deserves another, doesn't it?" She drops the pun like a litterbug drops a candy wrapper on the side of a Central Park trail. "You've done well to stay on Lady Melany's good side. Capitalize on it, won't you?" "I'm not sure what you'll do with this, but I'll tell Father how good you are regardless," says July, giggling still from Wil's antics. July curtseys to Zac at the end of their dance. "You did well," she says reassuringly. "Hopefully you'll do just as well at the selection."

Cam Rylan | 25/25 | not an awesome dancer
He did his best. But somehow dancing with them wasn't quite the same as dancing with others. Maybe it was nerves. Maybe it was this place. Who knew.
When the music faded, he gave them a polite nod, and that was that.

Chester Poole: 25/25, dancin' machine
He didn't dance. But all he had to go on was that he was meant to be making friends, so he tried. Surprisingly, he didn't step on July's toes.
"Anything you can do to help the ones without masks would be appreciated," he said, glancing down at his feet. "The ones from Ashdown, I mean. Um... not that you should be killed either. I didn't mean that at all."

[Unmasked Temperance: 25/25 GIRLS]
She took September's hand tentatively, finding no confidence in her steps. Her next dance was supposed to have been with someone else, but it was a distant promise. Temperance sighed and listened to the underlying beat of the music.

Isobel Penrose || 25/25 HP || actually good at dancing Dredging up everything she remembered from past dancing lessons, Tibbie actually managed to do alright on the dance-floor. It was a common waltz, thankfully, because that was one of the only dances she actually remembered. The dance was so fun she kept a happy smile on the entire time and once in a while a small giggle would escape her.

Jamie Delacroix | 25/25 | ...
Dancing wasn't exactly high on Jamie's lists of things to do, party or not, and his pitiful dance with September was a perfect example of why. His awkward rabbit feet and not-so-cheery mood made him a not-so-great dance parter. Probably should've known better.

Chel | 15/25 | Failing again
Some time after leaving her little conversation with Connor, Chel was still in a decidedly bad mood and it was getting worse. She knew that eventually she was going to really explode on someone, but she was hoping she could contain it in front of some of the people like Spinel. She needed to avoid confrontation at the moment.
So when two twin strangers asked her to dance, Chel genuinely thought what the hell, why not? She'd certainly solved her problems by dancing before.
The only problem was the type of dancing they wanted; Chel was more of a club dancer and this was quite literally a ballroom. She'd faced a similar problem earlier with one of the other creatures.
Not the worst dance she'd ever had, but something equivalent to an awkward prom slow dance. Yikes.

connor hill - 25/25 - and I dance dance dance The question to dance caught him off guard, but Connor did as he was bid. Finally, something that he actually knew how to do. Well, at least, he thought he could do. He'd had no formal ballroom dance training, but he was pretty ******** good at faking it, and it only took him a few moments of watching the movements of the others on the dance floor before he fell into the rhythm of things, albeit a little bit shaky at first. With July as his partner, they twirled around the dance floor, Connor's steps becoming ever more confident and smooth as the song continued. At it's end, he smiled, and only said, "Thank you." While leading the woman back towards her twin. Dancing. He was going to have to strong arm someone into doing more of that with him, later. It was a pleasant respite from all the drama and murdery atmosphere.

Jordan Miller - 25/25 - awkward guy dancing
It wasn't that Jordan didn't know how to dance in general, but his nerves and the fact that he didn't know his dance partner at all didn't help with his steps tonight. He didn't embarrass himself. At least he thought he hadn't embarrassed himself. But the pale girl returned to her companion's side with a blank expression, and they didn't seem to feel like talking to him further.
He spotted the frog-faced otherbeing coming into the room then, and hastily made his escape.

Lily Babineaux: 25/25 - Using both left feet Lily spent a decent time playing with Jamie in the hall, but could only be distracted from the true objective for so long. Still, spending all that time on four legs made her all the more awkward at trying to stand on two. Her partner might have been wearing a mask, but it wasn't hard to see that they weren't even pretending to have a good time. There might have been some toe-stepping now and again, but the twin was at least gracious enough to not say anything to her face. ((failure))
