Amleth nodded and smiled a little bit more. "That's very nice of.. er, them." she scratched absently at her ear. Duhushi needn't have worried; though she might tease him she'd been harrassed about her own coat enough to have strong empathy towards others in the same situation. "Know anywhere where we could find some food?" She ventured rather timidly, before looking back at Duhushi, aghast. "They don't let you eat?" she repeated, sharp red eyes softening slightly.

Duhushi nodded. "They'll be happy to have you here since you're a cub. They'll try to get on your good side anyway." The cub looked away from her and shook his striped mane. "I don't know where any food is right now. I haven't found any." His eyes starred at his paws as he continued. "My sisters let me eat but it's how much they decide to leave me. My father chose one of my sisters as his heir so I guess I'm not so important anymore."

"They want more pride members?" Amleth inquired curiously, tilting her head. "Well, at least that means they'll be nice to me.." she considered the option of staying with Duhushi's pride... if they wanted her there food might be easier to find than it had been out on her own.. and she'd probably be better protected... she sighed. "Oh well. I'm not that hungry anyway," she lied neatly, the proud tone re-emerging in her voice. She lowered her head, trying to catch the purple cub's eye. "I'm not an heir to anything, either. We can form a club!" her words were joking but she was trying her best to cheer her new friend up... she just wasn't very good at it.

"Yeah. They wan't more in the pride. I think it's so the hyenas will back down but I'm sure there will be further altercations." Duhushi turned slowly to meet her eyes. "I know that you're hungry. I can tell..." Laughing weakly he thought about making a club. 'I guss we could start a club aslong my sister ,Dhamisa, doesn't find out cause then she'd probably want to join it."

"Oh...so you're fighting with the hyenas then, huh?" Amleth ignored the phrase with the word "altercations" because she had no idea what it meant. She looked a little bit guilty as Duhushi looked at her seriously, but she puffed her chest up and tried to look affronted. "No, I'm not! I'm not that hungry.." sighing, she gave up and grinned at him. "Well, it will be an exclusive nobody-who-is-mean-to-us-can-join kind of club," she assured him knowingly, beaming.

Duhushi smiled weakly and stood. "It would be a club that no one else could and no one else wold know about." He was happy with the thought and his green eyes beamed lightly. Amleth wasn't too bad to hang around now that she was actually on the same wavelength as him...as long as he didn't remark about her coat. "Of course that presents a new problem..." Duhushi smirked and pounced onto the female cub. "Who's gonna be the boss?"

Amleth beamed. "Exactly! We can have..secret meetings, and stuff!" She nodded, becoming more and more pleased with her plan every second. Her tails swished as she thought about this new "club".
She made a startled "eep!" sound as she was pounced, but quickly recovered and fastened her teeth lightly into the other cub's ear, tugging at it. "Well, it was MY idea!"

Growling playfully, the purple cub wrenched his ear from her teeth. He laughed quietly, tail swishing behind him. "You may have thought of the idea but I know all the perfect places for secret meetings." A soft purple paw landed on her shoulders as Duhushi tried to pin her down. "Your efforts are futile Amleth." For once in a long time, Duhushi was having fun with another cub.

"Ooof!" the air left the hyena-marked cub's lungs as she was pinned. She growled playfully and wriggled, trying to unseat Duhushi. "Fine, we can BOTH be in charge, then," she offered, squirming out from under him and grinning. "Only I will be more in charge." She pranced just out of his reach as she said this, tongue poking out tauntingly.

Duhushi snorted as she went out of his reach. "Fine. We won't have someone in charge. I mean what's the point? We're only 2 cubs anyway." Something is his mind clicked. Maybe one day, if I ever become a king, then we'll really need to decide... The thought was pushed out of his head as he looked to her. "Don't worry. It's not like I'm gonna attack you." A smirk curled his features. " I'll leave that to the hyenas." It was a long going joke between him and the ratel Usafiri so he couldn't help but laugh.

Amleth seated herself where she stood with a plop, some dust rising as she did so. "Right, it'd just be silly. We can, like, we can make joint decisions." she said importantly, nodding. It didn't really occur to her waht sort of decisions they would be making, but she liked the idea anyway. At his words of assurance she sniffed. "Of course you're not. I could take you, anyway." She added, trying to ignore the jibe about the hyenas. She didn't know about the in-joke, and simply suspected he was trying to get to her. She frowned.

Duhushi watched the dust around her and shook his head while the laugh subsided. "Oh please. You may win in a duel, I'll give you that much but you could never win over my superior intellect." Placing a plush paw on his chest as he puffed it out a soft mew left his maw. "I happen to know things that you couldn't even begin to understand." His vocabulary was quite large but even he didn't know what all of them meant. Duhushi just knew that his mother had told him what to say and when. Soft green eyes watched her as she frowned cauing him to step forward. "You do know that my comment about the hyenas was a joke right?"

"Hmph." Amleth replied haughtily. "Bein' smart won't get you anywhere if I beat the stuffing out of ya!" She lunged forward, snapping playfully at him before rocking back on her hind paws and snorting at his concern. "Of course I knew that," she lied, nose in the air. "Anyone could tell you were kidding."

Duhushi murmured lightly under his breath. Something he had begun to do more often especially when he was finding something to say. "Well yes but if I'm smart then I would find a way out of the situation completely but I actually somewhat like you so it doesn't bother me much." He nose twitched when she snapped at him and he grunted lightly. "Of course. The brash always come out on top..." He rolled his eyes before smirking. "If you knew I was kidding then why did you frown?"

Perking her ears to catch Duhushi's murmurs, Amleth chortled. "Ahah, somewhat like me, come on, we are besssstt friiienndss." She lept towards him, grinning, intent on getting him back for pinning her earlier. "I frowned because .. I like to frown!" she growled lightly and snapped playfully at him.
