A long sigh escaped him. There would (hopefully) be time later for better explanations, but now was not a good moment in which to have a long discussion about everything that Nathaniel had not known - and likely still didn't know. Instead, he just carefully folded up his napkin and tucked it into his pocket for safe keeping.
Green eyes strayed to Jeremiah's hand on Algernon's arm, and for a few seconds, Nathaniel felt the old envy stirring up inside of him; a deep rooted longing to be a part of something, somewhere, that was more than himself, more than just his tiny little apartment.
He brushed it aside. This was not the time for that, either.
"Maybe we'll be able to fill in the missing pieces if we go see," said Nathaniel, straightening his shoulders and readjusting his mask. "All right. Let's go."
Hopefully they wouldn't mind him tagging along.
