"Congratulations." He said quietly, still almost a whisper. "I think you have a new friend." He grinned enormously. "I'll borrow a cat carrier and bring it by the shop in a few days alright?" He watched the cat fascinated. "We can see about getting her to a Vet, make sure she has a clean bill of health." He let his hand lightly touch her shoulder, and mogget for his part, hazarded a small lick to his 'new friend's' fluffy cheek.

Isobel beamed up at Zac, hand still petting the now former stray and happy tears slowly streaming down her face. "Sorry, I'm a bit-" she waved her free hand in the air, indicating her tears with embarrassment- "I mean, this is amazing! I didn't think - well I did, but only a little bit; I didn't think she'd really like me. And go home with me! Because this means she's mine, right?" The tortie kitty's purring getting steadily louder was background noise to Tibbie's words as she rubbed a cheek along Mogget's, caught by the good mood. "She'll need a name; åh, I'll have to think of one - it has to be the right one, the one that's just perfect for her!" Isobel's fingers absentmindedly went to scratch gently on top of the kitty's head and she almost stood up to lean into the petting.

“You’re fine, you’re just fine.” He assured her with a smile. “It means you’re hers at least.” He added with a grin. “I think it’s safe to say she’s pretty fond of you. “ He squeezed his eyes slightly with amusement. “She’ll help you pick a name.” He said with a grin. “You can always try the ones that might fit till you see one she takes to. There were suggestions that I should name Mogget…Snowball because he’s white after all.” “Here, did I give you the name of the vet clinic we use?” He asked as he carefully fished in his bag. “Ah! Here! I thought I grabbed you a card!”

Tibbie laughed joyfully; "is it bad that I'm half in love with her already?" She toned down to a happy beam with a shake of her head, tears still slowly streaming down. "Snowball? That doesn't fit him at all! Mogget is Mogget." And her kitty would have a name too, something that fit her perfectly in the same way as Mogget's name did; and like Zac said, she could try out what came to mind and the former stray would help her decide. "I don't remember, about the vet," and she didn't, in this very moment. As he handed her the card, she gave him a grateful smile, wiping off her tears with one hand and stashing the card with the other, "thank you! They'll know what to look for if we say she was a stray, right?" "Åh!" A thought came to her as her hand went back to petting the tortie, "may I have the rest of the treats in the bag? I can pay you back! But... I want to try luring her into the house tonight. Or at least up on the porch so she isn't out in the garden if it rains."

He laughed softly. “No, no that’s not bad AT ALL.” He grinned. “I’m sure she knows that too honestly.” He nodded then, assuring her. “yeah, they will give her a full work up, shots, they can check for rabies just in case its early stages, de-worm medication since that can be a thing. They can recommend foods for her too,” He handed her the bag of crunchy air-puffed treats. Poofy-meat was strange but, well the cats DID love it. “Here you go.” He grinned. “And it’s fine, consider it a welcome gift for your new housemate, how does that sound?” “If for some reason you can’t coax her into the house, you can set up a little shelter for her outside too, if she likes being out I’ll show you a good way to set up a cat shelter outside with some hay, sound good? “ He nodded reassuring.

"Great, thank you! I don't know how I'll ever repay you for all of this." But she would gladly call him a friend; her first friend in Ashdown, and that made him important. Although any friend was important. But it was extra special because he'd helped her make friends with the stray kitty who was now her kitty! She couldn't remember ever meeting someone who knew as much about cats and was as kind as Zac. "Yes, that sounds absolutely eminent! I want her to be as comfortable as possible and have all the things she might want in life," Isobel said, nodding sagely, still smiling widely. That smile would probably stay there for the next week or so. "But I do hope she'll want to spend time in the house with me!"

“Don’t worry about repaying me, you’re giving a sweet girl a home, I think that’s payment enough for the world. “ He meant it too. “See if you can get her inside tonight, if you can then call me, tomorrow we can see about finding her toys she’ll like. If she’s ok with a harness we can take it into Pet-smart, see what kinda toys she likes. See if she likes catnip or not, cause not all cats respond to it.” He grinned to impart such interesting tidbits. “… and most cats can’t taste sweet, but a handful can. Also, give her a blanket if she comes inside, or a towel that you used, it will help get her used to you. Even if she trusts you now its better to help her associate you with comfort.”
