Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Making light conversationHow many stairs did this place have? Juniper felt like she had climbed upwards for an absurd amount of time before finally coming upon a landing and a door. Curiously she opened it and walked in, eyes quickly taking note of the circular walls and the bookshelves. Welp, she was deifnitely in a tower. Not that she had thought she'd be anywhere else with how dizzying the walk up had been. It seemed though, that she had found the stash of alcohol that wasn't of the wine variety. The walk up might have been worth it after all. She didn't have much time to ponder what was in the bottles though as the large form of a man caught her attention. He seemed....impatient. As if he was waiting for something or someone to make an appearance. He was certainly dressed to impress, if one expected a man in a dress. She did enjoy the colors though. "Oh! Hello!" She smiled smoothly. "I was just trying to get away from the madness of the party downstairs for a bit of quiet time. I hope you don't mind me butting in here for a bit." She tilted her head, the curls in her hair shifted slightly against her shoulders. "Are you one of the hosts or just a guest?"

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - talking with Masked Thorne and JuniperHux laughed like an old dog barked. What the ******** is with this guy? He wondered briefly to himself. "Don't act like I'm the only miserable one here." He said. "You're practically writhing in it." And that's why he was here. Because he loved company. Not Hux. And then, as though called upon by the gods that found such a particular sort of pleasure in torturing him, another person appeared. Hux turned his head to look at the woman that had entered. The fire silhouetted his large frame perfectly, and his profile was one he'd always been complimented on. Still, he looked intimidating. At 6'6, everyone looked intimidating. Especially with his fists clenched by his sides and his back a rigid line to Thorne, who still lounged in the velvet-backed chair. "Did all those steps look like a ******** invitation?" He asked, regarding Juniper with a scowl. "I'm a prisoner and a slave. What about you?"

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Chatting up HuxJuniper jumped at the sudden outburst towards her and took a step back and away from the man. She huffed though. How dare he. Big or not, she hadn't come up here with the intent of being rude. "Well, excuse me for asking. I didn't know you were even up here. If you don't want anyone here why not lock the door?" She swung an arm out towards the door behind her in emphasis. Still. This wasn't going to help her matters. Taking a deep breath Juniper attempted to center herself. Meditation was a beautiful thing. "Alright, look, I didn't come up here to cause any problems. But, why are you being kept up here? I mean, it looks like you're all dressed up for the ball so surely you must be allowed to go downstairs and join the party. Unless, of course, you know something about tonight's festivities?" Juniper hoped that the man may have a loose tongue and be willing to talk. Assuming, of course, she could keep him from yelling at her anymore.

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - answering Juniper's questionsHux frowned at her. "I told you just a moment ago. I'm a prisoner and a slave. Do you think I'd have the ability to lock or unlock doors here, where there's actual ******** magic? Adoelle is the only one that can decide whether that door is locked or not. And maybe some of the other court members. I don't know." He turned his attention back to the fireplace. The murmurs within it whispered and danced. "I'm not being kept up here. I chose to stay here. I want to be alone." He huffed, irritated by the sudden onslaught of questions. "I don't know anything about the tithe. I'm a prisoner, not a confidant."

Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | About to do something terrible
The new one that appeared reeked of boredom. She was asking questions like this was a clue party, and Thorne tuned both her and Hux's answers out with ease. But his head did tilt backwards over one edge of the chair he lounged in, eyeing Juniper upside down with a cheshire grin.
"Hey now," he said, a soft slow drawl, "You shouldn't poke a chained up bear."
He twisted a little bit more, eyes wild-bright and hungry.
"Did you come to see the show, little stranger?" His grin turned absolutely terrifying. "I could show you something fun."

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Pretending she's in control of the situation "Ok. Ok. No need to get angry at me. I am still getting use to this whole magic thing and all. I shoet of keep forgetting about it." Which is amusing considering her sheer gown wad the product of magic. One would think it would serve as a constant reminder. She did wonder who Adoelle was though. She didn't recognize the name so that had to be someone she hasn't run into yet. Interesting. "Alright, then I won't ask any questions about the tithe then. " She shrugged. "I am sorry that iam intruding though. I guess I could leave. " She didn't really want to considering this was the first place she'd been that doesn't have a ton of people. Then a head piled over the side of the chair and Juniper looked at the man. He seemed...well, to put it bluntly, like he was up to something. That or he was just enjoying the view her dress gave of her chest. "Iam not looking a beat. " She stated plainly, crossing her arms. Then that grin turned more feral and Juniper instantly felt uncomfortable. Too bad her prose was more stubborn. "Hm, no I think I'll pass, thanks. I didn't come up here looking for any sort of entertainment. Like this guy here, I sort of was looking to get away from all of the people downstairs." It was then she noted something and she looked at Hux. "Are you not wearing a mask because you're trapped here?" Come to think of it, there had been a few others who weren't wearing masks. Truthfully, Juniper was at the point she wanted to rip the damn thing off of her face. It was getting tiresome to deal with her obstructed vision. elkbones Haha curious to see wtf occurs here. happy bonsai excuse mistakes. On my phone.

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - not answering Jun's questions, taking back his chair Hux moved to where Thorne lounged in the chair. He wrapped long, calloused fingers around the other male's wrist and tugged him unceremoniously to the floor, as though he were nothing but a bag of meat and bone. He sat in the now vacated chair. He looked drained, dismal. He felt... broken. And he wasn't sure if he could ever be fixed again. "I didn't dress myself." Hux said, his answer to Juniper's most recent question gruff and not at all helpful. He didn't bother to say more on the subject. Instead, he reached for the nearest bottle- one that hadn't been opened yet- and poured it down his throat after cracking the cap off. The alcohol burned him, but it was a good kind of burn. He took another long gulp of the liquid as soon as the last had left his mouth. The anger had left him. He was nothing more than a shell again, staring into the flame.

Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | FLEEING FOR HIS LIFE
Thorne grunted as he was tossed to the floor, a ragdoll more than anything else. With a particularly surly stare in the giant bearded oafs direction, he sat up, dangerously close to Hux's legs.
"That was rude," Thorne said softly, his voice a low purr. His eyes flicked to Juniper. "Boring," he sang out, "But I suppose that must be why people lock themselves in towers of their own accord."
With a pause, he turned his expression to Hux.
"Hey," he said, pushing to his knees and sliding his left hand to the bearded mans thighs. With a wild grin, he leaned in close to the ghost, the husk, and said, "I have a parting gift for you."
Thorne lifted his right hand. A murmur whispered inside of his painted nails. He tilted his head at Hux.
"Think you can throw me out of a window before I find out what this one says?"
Without waiting on an answer, the masked creature crushed the murmur between his fingers, claws biting into Hux's thigh.
He was only there long enough for the memory to burn through both of them. And then he was up and away, a wild grin flaring on his lips.
Time to run, he thought.happy bonsai WILL HE MAKE IT TO THE STAIRS BEFORE U KILL HIM HUX

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - breaking down (******** you Masked Thorne) Quote: *ahhem* tw for suicidal thoughts/actions She was gone. Forever. Dead and in the ground. All because of him. All because he hadn't been enough. He was never enough. Would never be enough. He dug the knife into his wrist, he watched the blood flow from his forearm. He'd see her soon. When he came to again, there were tears flowing freely down his cheeks. Thorne had left. He didn't bother to run after him. Instead, Hux crumpled. He folded in on himself. He placed his head between his knees and sobbed; a great shuddering giant- defeated. The murmurs danced around him like foxfire. They taunted him, light and carefree despite all the darkest bits of him that they held. The scar on his wrist ached. Everything ached. I want it to end. I just want it all to end. elkbones y u gotta pick on my big dumb baby thorney why

Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, not currently smoking If there was one thing he had learned from visiting Alois's cellar tonight, it was that he shouldn't barge in. Things had been so much simpler when there had barely been anyone around to see him out from under the piercing, judgmental gaze of the Burning Man. Here there were people lurking in every darkened corner, witnesses to his bad behavior that really wasn't that bad at all compared to some.
As such, Rabbit crept up the stairs to the ebony spire, surprised by its silence. With the way everyone kept cornering him and asking him for favors, he had assumed the other humans would be similarly occupied. He folded his hands into his long sleeves and tiptoed forward, bare feet soundless on the stone as he drew a breath to speak.

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Trying to console HuxJuniper watched as Hux lifted Thorne from the chair with ease. She didn't move to interfere or say anything. Instead she just watched the display curious to see what the relationship was between the two. As it turned out, it seemed it wasn't anything good. In fact, after watching Thorne touch Hux and crush one of the murmurs above before darting out like his life depended on it. Whatever had just happened between the two of them seemed to have crushed poor Hux. Watching a fully grown man the size of Hux break down was...too much for Juniper. Her heart strings were tugged and she swept around the chair to kneel in front of the man. She wasn't sure if she should touch him. He seemed like a fairly private man and she didn't want to distress him anymore. Instead, Juniper opted for reaching over and grabbing one of the many bottles of untouched booze. Sure, it may not have been the best solution for someone in pain, but she didn't know what else to do when she didn't know him. So, she popped the top off, after a bit of a struggle, and held it out to him. "I don't know what just happened, but whatever it was it had to be horrible." She looked at him with concern in her blue eyes. "I don't know if I can help at all, but I can lend and ear, or just a silent drinking companion if that's what you would like." In truth, he probably wanted to be left alone but Juniper was actually afraid to leave him to his own devices with how he looked. "I am Juniper, by the way." Juniper had no clue there was anyone else lurking about the spire.

Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | Fleeing for his life but also hey buddy
Thorne didn't even bother watching the beast fall apart. It was enough to hear the sobs, the fall, the exquisite noise of someone breaking, breaking, breaking. Thorne hit the steps of the ebony spire with a wicked curl of laughter.
And it was just his luck - someone else was there to greet him.
"Hey," Thorne drawled, sliding the rest of the steps down to meet Rabbit with a grin on his face, "Want to trade off for awhile? There's a beast upstairs, and it looks like I've just found a Beauty. Careful of his roar."
Without warning, Thorne slid his hands to cup Rabbit's cheeks like it was a gesture of endearment and kissed his forehead with a sweet, lullaby laugh.
"Careful of his claws," he added gently, and wandered past Rabbit down the hall. But his touch lingered just a moment too long. Just enough for it to warm and burn and build.
And then he was gone, gone, gone.
(LEFT THE BUILDING!!)Smerdle Rabbit is now under the effect of ~~The Love Touch or Whatever Bullshit Power Name This Should Be~~ This touch-based power heightens and amplifies Rabbit's base and repressed desires in any way, shape, or form that you want and to any degree that you would like. Everything is up to your discretion and should only be played to the degree with which you are comfortable! Enjoy.

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - talking to Juniper Hux looked up at the woman offering him another one of the many bottles littered across the floor. Without a word, he took it from her and upturned it- drinking more than one would expect someone to drink and then following it up with another gulp. His scarred wrist still ached, and his vision swam, but he was thankful for the way the warmth spread through his chest and down into his stomach. Thankful for the way that it made his mind too jumbled to properly process the emotion he'd felt only moments before. He did his best to level his gaze at the woman who'd introduced herself. She had pretty eyes. "'m Hux." He said, and his voice was gentler than it had been before. Less angry, more raw. "'m sorry, for actin' like a ********' jackass... you're alright 'nd no one deserves that..." He wiped the wet from his face with his forearm and shoved a few locks that had fallen from his up-do behind his ear. "s'nothin' against you. 'm just... not real into.. y'know... bein' 'round people like this. You can stay, if ya want... s'plenty of alcohol to go 'round..."

Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, very confused He swallowed his warning when he heard someone approaching, stopping short as a figure appeared around the curve of the stair. One of Melany's, he thought. Rabbit took an involuntary step back. So cowardly now. Or maybe he always had been, his lack of actual bravery hidden under recklessness. The creature was speaking, his voice ragged fingernails on silk, murmuring something about Beauty and the Beast that Rabbit couldn't parse in tandem with his urge to flee. This was ridiculous. Terrifying. He had come here to apologize for his double's behavior, to make amends for what the other him might have done back home, but it wasn't worth this. He tried to back away without stumbling down the stairs, but it was too late.
"Don't—" was all he managed as Thorne touched his face, pressing a kiss just above his naked brow.
Rabbit swayed in place as warmth bloomed from that point of contact, closing his eyes as all of his focus turned inward. He knew he should go, but he no longer wanted to. Instead, he concentrated on breathing, sliding his foot onto the next step and the next and the next until he reached the top of the tower.
"Hello," Rabbit managed, his voice far away. "Why're you crying?" He was clearly asking Hux, the one with the tears on his cheeks, but his visible eye stared at Juniper, hazy and half-lidded.

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Supporting Hux with AlcoholJuniper smiled, noting Hux's attention on her face. Kudos to him for not looking south considering the unobstructed view. She reached over to grab two more bottles of the booze and managed to struggle a bit less in taking off their tops this time. She passed off one of them to her new found friend as she raised one of the bottles to her lips. Unlike Hux though, she was incapable of chugging down large quantities of the stuff. It burned far too much after having been sipping on the sweetness of wine. "It's alright. Apology accepted." She let herself tip off to the side a bit as her legs felt like they were falling asleep. Sitting on her hip, legs curled to the side she raised her bottle. "I can understand that, but sometimes having some company, even if it's just companionable silent company can help. Besides, I can just sit here and pass ya more bottles as you need. Assuming that's what you want, but I won't lie and say I wouldn't enjoy some easy chatting. We can discuss boring things like the weather or something." She shrugged. It was then her eyes were drawn by movement behind Hux. She leaned over to look around the large chair to find another man standing there. At his question she glanced at Hux, before returning her gaze to their new guest. Juniper had a moment where she wondered if this new arrival was drunk or high off of something with that look of his. Do they even have weed here? She wondered.
