World Event ∇ The Glint of Treasure Words ∇ 574 Points ∇ 5
Tariu was wandering about the shores, enjoying the heat as it swept around them. The waters were cool against the air, but still felt warm enough to sink in to the skin. It was much preferred compared to the damper, cooler months of winter, so most Pale'iko would wander about just as Tariu had been. However, unlike most, Tariu didn't quite swim around in a school. They preferred to be independent and alone, allowing the urges to wander sweep over them and take them to wherever they desired. It was much easier to be free than to be strung along by the whims of others. After all, Tariu had a lot more of their own whims to worry about.
As Tariu was wandering about the low water, all but belly-crawling and flopping from one perch to the other as the water kept their skin hydrated. Grinning to themself, Tariu found a place to settle down and fell to the side so half of their face was submerged, the fresh water cleaning out their gills and giving them just enough of a current to feel like a small massage. Now that they were comfortable, the young creature took a moment to explore the scenery with their eyes, before a flashing caught their attention from across the river. Darting up, they narrowed their eyes, waiting until the glint happened again, before their attention was snagged and they darted across the waters to get to the object of interest.
Moving their hand into the mud, Tariu tugged a bit and pulled it out, letting out a gasp as the item scratched their hand. Blinking with wide eyes, they looked over the object that caught the light of the sun. It was a strange shape, swirling around with variant colors of creme and pearl. Shaking it a bit, some mud slushed out of a lip on the side, and they lifted the item up to listen in. It sounded like swooshing winds and lapping waters, and Tariu's eyes grew even wider yet. Oh what a long-lost treasure! They didn't know where it came from, because it wasn't anything normally found in the lands, but it was something beautiful none-the-less. Maybe they could find a way to create a necklace or bracelet with the item, to show off their find to all who might see.
Oh yes, traveling around alone had it's benefits, for this treasure was theirs, and theirs alone.
